Online headline: "Well-known doctor floats the idea that Clinton is being poisoned by Putin and Trump" -- Good grief.. now there's a vast left-wing conspiracy theory group!

---
Online headline: "Half the country thinks Clinton is lying" -- Hmmm.. guess this is the "basket of deplorables".... On the other hand, to me it's deplorable that "half the country" doesn't KNOW Hellary's lyig..

---
From the "who is this campaign about" department - Online story: " Donald Trump has made no secret of his distaste for the mainstream news media, but Thursday was the first time he ever started a speech without them. * On Thursday night in New Hampshire, Trump began his rally without dedicated reporters present — then he laughed about it. * "I have really good news for you," Trump said immediately upon taking the stage. "I just heard that the press is stuck on their airplane. They can't get here. I love it. * "So they're trying to get here now. They're gonna be about 30 minutes late," he continued. "They called us and said, 'Could you wait?' I said 'Absolutely not.' Let's get going right? Let's get going, New Hampshire." * In fact, past candidates have waited for press out of deference and respect." -- "candidates have waited for press out of deference and respect"?  Good grief.. this is not about the press! Trump was right on to be concerned about the people of Connecticut..and America. That's what the story is all about.. Trump cares about people wanting leadership. it wasn't a political "photo-op!

---
Online headline: "Clinton dodges one looming question during big return" -- "dodges one question"? Hellary dodges the truth.. period!

---
Online headline/story: "DHS accused of sitting on damning border report as immigration issue drives presidential race * DHS denied it is holding back the report, but sources say it was completed in November and that it shows roughly half of adults who attempt to cross the border make it - approximately 250,000 in total. * But that number is at odds with DHS’ official estimates. The agency claims authorities catch 80 percent of adults trying to sneak in, but critics say the figure is padded to make it appear border security is more effective than it really is *  Republican lawmakers are furious that the report they ordered is not being released. * “It erodes the trust as to whether the administration is being honest with the American people about what the threat is,” said Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., " -- "It erodes the trust as to whether the administration is being honest with the American people "? Good grief.. even the Democrats KNOW this administration is not honest with them.. and count on it!

---
Back on the campaign trail, Hellary told supporters that she wants them to hold her responsible.....for her ideas. Wish she'd ask them to hold her responsible for her crimes and scandals.

---
Online headline: "Ford moving all production of small cars from U.S. to Mexico" -- Looks like the Clintons' NAFTA is the unions worst nightmare.

---
Ford is probably better off moving to Mexico...Obviously, Ford has lost touch with the American consumer. Remember when Ford brought back the Thunderbird? It should have been called the Blunderbird, and now Ford is bring back the Lincoln Continental after a decade plus of respite, but hasn't exactly brought back the memory.. in fact, it's more like a prop in a Mihael Myers' movie.. sorta a limo for Mini-Me.

---
Online story: "When embattled 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took the field on Monday night, it was late in the game and he was only in there so that the team’s starting quarterback, Blaine Gabbert, wouldn’t get hurt. * However, in spite of that, his home crowd was ready for it. Instead of embracing Kaepernick through all his troubles, the remaining fans in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, began chanting “USA! USA!” at the quarterback while he was on the field. " -- Good grief.. now the NFL will probably ban fans from the stadium for being patriotic.. Me.. there are better things to do or see than watch the NFL on TV.

Those reverse mortgages..whatta concept.. you sign over any future value increases, and you pay for taxes and upkeep for a loan that may be good for only a few days, and may leave your heirs owing the mortgage company if the sale of that property doesn't cover the loan....

---
Online headline: "Georgia jobless rate drops to 4.9%, now on par with national unemployment number" --  All this does is highlight only 4.9% of those who want to work don't have a job..not the number not working.

---
L-E headline/story: "Police: 17-year-old charged in investigation of student’s death * G******* M***********, who was apprehended at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, was charged with purchasing alcoholic beverages for minors, making false statement and writings, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, furnishing alcoholic beverages to persons under 21, possession of a false identification document and attempting to purchase alcohol by misrepresenting his identity." -- You know.. the name of the liquor store that sold him alcohol should be named as well, and we should contact our State Reps about why aren't the Driver's License "readers" used at the polls used to verify the authenticity of Driver's Licenses at liquor stores.

---
L-E story: " One, (Mayor Tomlinson) said, the referendum will not eliminate the freeze. Under the new system, everyone under the freeze up until Jan. 1, 2017, would remain under it as long as they own their home. Eventually, decades down the road, the freeze would still be in place, there would just be no one left who qualified for it. * “The reason it’s called a ‘thaw’ and not ‘lifting the freeze’ is because the freeze will actually just be retired, but continue to exist,” Tomlinson said." -- Good grief.. Mayor Hellary TomLYINGson "knows" that if... and I'm putting the emphasis on "if", the referendum passes, there will be a court challenge to the two separate levels of taxation (one homestead exempt house/condo with a freeze being next to another homestead exempt house/condo without the freeze) before the end of 2017, and the courts will rule in the plaintiff's favor because the state does not allow two levels of taxation.

---
You know. I never did get a response from Council about the story of the LaGrange man who tried to run over a Phenix City police officer, and then was admitted to the Muscogee County Jail? Did it happen or not? Or does the L-E owe am apology and "correction"?

---
From the "let's reverse the headline for accuracy" department - L-E headline: "White House: Cornyn, Cruz ‘intellectually dishonest’ on judges" -- Hmmm... "Cornyn, Cruz judge White House intellectually dishonest"

---
From the "this must be a misprint or April Fool's Day article" department - L-E story: "San Francisco Chronicle * SAN FRANCISCO * Four years after California voters decided narrowly to retain the death penalty, they face an even more dramatic choice: abolish executions or try to speed them up by setting tight time limits for state court rulings and limiting appeals." -- I can hardly believe there's "proposition" on the CA Ballot that makes common sense of setting time limits for rulings/appeals on death sentences.

---
L-E headline: "HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL * Selling home games a lucrative business for local schools * Four MCSD teams sold eight home games for $31,200." --  You know, if the MCSB allows his practice, then the schools should have to reimburse the taxpayers for all the expenses and depreciation for the buses.. In fact, to save the embarrassment of the practice, the schools should have to rent commercial buses rather than have our school system name plastered on the sides of the buses. Also, the GHSAA should look into this as it gives an advantage to schools who play extra home games rather than travel.

---

You know, the MCSB should take a renewed interest in re-aligning our local high schools. There's no reason.. well, no GOOD reason, that we have our 8 athletically competing high schools playing in 3 different sized regions.  Having Columbus schools playing in small sized division really demeans the image of Columbus being a major city in GA..
