From the "tale of two pities" department - HuffPOOPOO "headlie/story": "EPA mistakenly sends out quote slamming Trump's executive order" -- Two pities.. one was the "quote" itself.. the second was the excuse afterwards.

---
From the "Doh!... what don't you understand about Econ 101" department - Online headline: "Trump tax proposal would mostly benefit New York's wealthy: report" -- Good grief.. it's how life works! You cannot give additional tax relief to people who are not working or not paying taxes as it is! What mainscream media doesn't... well, will not admit to understanding, is that the wealthy and corporate icons generate ALL the revenue and GDP that Makes America Great, and Trump wants to make it so AGAIN!

---
From the "remember the name of the (_*_) and the university that employs him" department - Online story: "If you think you have heard of George Ciccariello you probably have. The Drexel University professor has a habit of saying the types of things that make many Americans furious, especially conservatives with an internet presence. * Earlier this week, Ciccariello sent out a tweet about an encounter involving a veteran he witnessed on an airplane, and it drove some people crazy. * "Some guy gave up his first class seat for a uniformed soldier. People are thanking him. I'm trying not to vomit or yell about Mosul," Ciccariello wrote on Twitter." -- If you didn't think there wasn't  any basic humanity difference between Trump  and mainscream/Hellary supporters before, this should be all you need to convince you.

---
From the "maybe there is justice" department - A Federal Judge has ruled that the 6 police officers charged with unfounded crimes involving the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore can... should .. proceed in their "malicious prosecution" case against Baltimore State Attorney Marilyn Mosby. Bet he'll never be appointed to the District 9 Court of Appeals!

---
You know, I'm fed up with mainscream media and Democrat politicians.. I expect Russia to spy on us...and vice versa... what bothers me most is the number of leaks coming out of OUR security departments to our media so that every enemy country knows our secrets and plans. Fire everyone who was already working in them on January 20th.

---
Online news story: "When Hillary Clinton resigned as Secretary of State in 2013, she negotiated continuing access to classified and top-secret documents for herself and six staffers under the designation "research assistants," according to a powerful senator who notes that Clinton was later deemed "extremely careless" with such information. * The staff apparently retained access even after Clinton announced her run for president in April 2015, according to Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. The access was ostensibly granted to facilitate work on Clinton's memoir, but Grassley said he was only able to verify it after the Obama administration left the White House." -- Good grief.. how can an ex-appointee be allowed to keep her personally hired (thus loyal only to her) staff's access to top secret files!

---
Oh! We got a random mailing yesterday from WellCare.. basically GA's Medicaid healthcare for children.. it was a reminder that the Medicaid Open Enrollment was between March 1st and March 31st...Think about that.. yesterday was March 30th! It also had enticements advertising raffles for "rewards" such as "Free IPAD, Apple Watch, or Fitbit (up to $500 value).. oh, and "Alternative Therapy" options including "Equine/Horse Therapy.. Uses horses to provide emotional growth experiences for "members" with cognitive, behavioral or developmental disabilities" -- You know, I'm am proud our state has a "safety net
for the health of children, but raffles for electronics and "horse therapy" are a bit much.. we're talking real tax dollar waste here.

---
You know, last year we were introduced to "Together2016".. in fact, we were bombarded with L-E advertising nearly every day.. now "Together2016" has become "Together2017" only it has changed it's logo to mimic Hellary's campaign logo..

the "17" basically a Hellary "H->"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

L-E headline: "METRA supervisor says ‘ … We do not replace buses because of a horn’" -- Seems to me there needs not only to be a "rehiring".. but a FIRING as well.. Horns should work on the buses...

---
L-E story: "It was a simple formula for the Columbus metro area unemployment rate in February: More people went back to work and fewer people received layoff notices, the Georgia Department reported Thursday. * That meant the local area’s rate declined from 7 percent in January to 6.5 percent in February, which compares to 6.6 percent in February a year ago. The Columbus rate remains the highest in Georgia, however." -- Good grief.. and not one mention of the energy generated by Obama leaving office and Trump going in.. Why does the L-E still support the Democrats in Columbus? You know, Hellary got 58% of Columbus' vote in November, and she would not have generated such energy that the country is feeling at the moment..

---
L-E headline/story: "Efforts to revive historic City Mills along river at pivotal moment *  City leaders unveiled a “City Village” master plan last year, with City Mills among four districts along the river that could be revived with the help of $60 million in public money from multiple sources. " -- "$60 million in public money from multiple sources"? First, there's only ONE SOURCE of "public money".. the taxpayers' pockets.. but.. even if such a project is completed, how will visitors and residents alike access the area.. anybody riding along 2nd Avenue would not want to get off on a side street  after being on a major thoroughfare that looks and feels like it was the victim of IEDs!

---
L-E "headLIE": "In empty offices, critics see evidence of Trump devaluing science" -- Good grief.. Trump has already started emphasizing a government return to space projects including moon landings which will generate a lot more Science interest in the education system than government offices filled with bureaucrats!

---

L-E "headLIE": "N.C. vote to repeal ‘bathroom bill’ makes no one happy" -- Good grief.. a few libs are ecstatic!  What a sellout! The values of most Americans has been sold by politicians to the NCAA .. Meanwhile, the NCAA doesn't even abide by the demands that it makes of potential venue sites.. The NCAA has strict rules denying participation of men in ladies' sports yet demands men be allowed into ladies' bathrooms/locker rooms. I'm writing off NC for any family vacations in the future.

Thursday, March 30, 2017

A week or so ago.. the EPA announced it would terminate 3,100 employees because of the fund cuts ordered by Trump.. I figured that had to be huge percent of the department's personnel/budget.. Apparently not.. seems that the EPA has about 15,000+ employees.. that's about 300 employees PER STATE. What in the world does a regulatory department need with that many taxpayer funded jobs?  With the 3,100 "cuts", the EPA still has MORE employees than locally founded/based TSYS which conducts business world wide.. and pays taxes rather than siphons out of taxpayers wallets.

---
Online story: "A U.S. State Department employee with access to sensitive information was accused of failing to report contacts with Chinese foreign intelligence agents who provided her with gifts in exchange for diplomatic and economic information, federal prosecutors said on Wednesday. * Candace Claiborne, 60, was charged in a Washington federal court with obstruction of justice and making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. * A complaint says Claiborne was given tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and wire transfers by Chinese agents beginning in 2011 in exchange for information about U.S. economic policy in relation to China and other diplomatic matters." -- Well, well, well...One of Obama's.. and HELLARY's employees was caught with her hand in the cookie jar.. betcha mainscream media will exonerate Hellary based on her past statements that she doesn't "know how to bake cookies".

---
Online story: "The NCAA has imposed a 48-hour deadline on North Carolina to repeal its controversial "bathroom law," a local sports event planner said on Tuesday. * If lawmakers don't repeal the law, known as HB2, the NCAA will reject the state's more than 100 bids to host championship college sports events over the next five years." -- Good grief.. if the NCAA is so insistent, then it needs to align itself with its demand.. eliminate all gender divides among the sports it sanctions.. no more mens/womens designated sports..

---
L-E headline: "Council sticks with first Liberty District appraisal after big discrepancy * Columbus Council received a second appraisal on land in the Liberty District Tuesday that put the appraised value at $133,500.
*  The amount was $75,300 more than an appraisal that the council received two weeks ago when city officials said the property had been appraised at $58,200." -- Hmmm... why is it that Council PAYS more than assessment value ($365,000 for property tax assessed at $211, 000) yet sells city owned property at below FMV? One other question needs to be explored.. another commenter made the observation that usually 3 appraisals are analyzed.. not just one or two.

---
Anybody seen any Council action on what it will do with the parking lot property next to the Pezold Mariott downtown? Last year, Council voted to sell such property to another hotel company for $50,000.00,, Pezold's company fought the valuation believing that the property should be sold between $500,000 and $750,000 per acre.. They got a judge to soundoff with an injunction and the sale was stopped.. recently, that judge's injunction was overturned by an Appeal Court. Unfortunately, in this time frame, a year had passed, and two more hotels (with one another Pezold venture) had been announced in the downtown area making it pretty much a futile effort for the company stopped from purchasing the other property to plan a third hotel in the area.  Now.. what is Council going to do with the property the Pezold Company uses for parking. I do believe that the the Pezold Company buying the acreage for the high end they assessed it would be the best thing for the City under the circumstances..  if the Pezold Company "reneges", then Council should blockade the downtown Marriott from using it as parking. . Oh.. and since the Pezolds value that parking lot at $750,000. per acre for unimproved property, Council should reassess the Pezold's hotel property.. obviously, with 2.33 acres of property, the land alone should be valued at $1,747,500.00 but the acreage itself is only assessed at $661,020. Using the Pezold Company's own evaluation (2.64 times higher), then the whole property/building value should be raised from $3,450,548,00 to $9,110,000.00 and property taxed accordingly.

Online story: "Gov. Nathan Deal now has a legal mandate to intervene in Georgia’s lowest-performing schools. * The House of Representatives’ approval Tuesday of House Bill 338 is lawmakers’ response to the failure in November of Deal’s referendum to create a statewide Opportunity School District for “chronically failing” schools. * The vote of 133-36 was a slight drop from the 138-37 by which the bill first passed the House at the beginning of March. The Senate amended and passed the bill last week, and the House had to ratify the changes." - It's a start.. unfortunately, Columbus political interests thwarted an opportunity to get the MCSB to be able to do the same thing before anymore deterioration occurs which will be what Gov Deal has to wait for before stepping in..

---
Everyone see Judge Napolitano back on Fox yesterday? Guess it's Fox's way of apologizing for censoring him for supporting Trump's claim of being spied on. Wonder when ..if.. mainscream media will accept the facts.... eventually...

---
Online headline/story: "Mexican state attorney general arrested in San Diego on drug charges *  The Wall Street Journal reported Veytia, who has the nickname “Diablo,” was charged with drug trafficking. * “[It’s] the latest in a string of arrests, indictments and murders that underscore the corruption and rising violence afflicting Mexico,” the WSJ reported." -- Good grief.. I understood the nickname of a drug lord,,i.e. "El Chapo", but when the State Attorney General is nicknamed "Diablo".. why wasn't that wall ben finished before Obama left office?

---
L-E headline: "Public invited to tour Feeding the Valley’s brand-new facility" --  Isn't it "odd" that a private sector business can build a metal/slab construction building for $112.00 a square ft, while the MCSD  says it takes $312.00 a square ft to build the same kind of building for wrestling/weight rooms? No-bid contracts should be abandoned!

---

L-E editorial headline: "Is state tax cut a ‘greater good’ bill? * by Dusty Nix" -- It's "progressive thinking" (an obvious oxymoron)  like Dusty Nix's that holds back people from succeeding on their own initiative. To boot, doesn't Dusty live in Alabama (please correct me if I'm wrong), so why's he stepping into something he's avoided so long to be part of?

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

From the "for every step forward, we have to knock Trump back two" department - Headline/story: "Ivanka Trump, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos celebrate Women's History Month by encouraging girls in STEM *  While President Donald Trump in February signed two bills encouraging women in STEM fields through NASA and the National Science Foundation, critics (i.e. libs/mainscream media) noted that he is eliminating funding for NASA's education programs in his 2018 proposed budget." --  Good grief.. Trump is redirecting misused funds into productive ones which will be more effective at getting science/space BACK into interest in our schools.. Space PROJECTS.. not space blabber, create the most effective interest.

---
From the "libs can fix anything if the right people are in charge and have plenty of other people's money" department - Online headline/story: "Tetris may be the key to ending PTSD *  New research from Europe shows that at least one particular game can do some real good, Tetris. * Turns out it may actually help treat people with post-traumatic stress disorder. That's according to a new study published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry. * Scientists had recent car crash victims play Tetris while awaiting treatment in the hospital. * In the week following, patients who played Tetris were found to have fewer flashbacks than those that didn't." -- Hmmm... Europe.. no less... and with a one week trial of "results" following a car crash.... .. yep.. that sounds like something with "good intentions" libs can celebrate.. But.. what about soldiers, suffering PTSD from war or war injuries of a devastating nature.. you know.. the ones that they aren't sitting up the day/week after an injury because they lost a limb or vision. How the hell can playing Tetris solve their issues?

---
From the "huh? where's the mainscream media indignation" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Embattled DNC asks all staffers for resignation letters *  Party staffs typically sees major turnover with a new boss, but the mass resignation letters will give Perez a chance to completely remake the DNC's headquarters from scratch after staffing had already reached unusual low following a round of layoffs in December." -- Good grief.. and Trump gets trashed for wanting his own people in place, and Democrats haven't even approved all  his cabinet picks.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Italy could soon offer paid 'menstrual leave'" -- Can't you see this as the lead 2020 Democratic Party campaign issue... except Democrats will want to include transgender/gender confused people to be covered as well.. excuse me, but I'm getting a headache from this.. can I ave a few paid days off as well?

---
From the "rose-colored glasses? how about ones of vision blocking lead lenses?" department -- Online story: "Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., caused a scene at a Manhattan restaurant when he began yelling at a wealthy and well-connected Donald Trump supporter that the POTUS is “a liar.” *  Schumer, the top Senate Democrat, lost his cool on Sunday night at Upper East Side restaurant Sette Mezzo, according to witnesses. * He was dining with friends when he encountered Joseph A. Califano Jr. — the former U.S. secretary of health, education and welfare under President Jimmy Carter and domestic policy adviser to President Lyndon B. Johnson — and his wife, Hilary, who were having a quiet dinner. * Onlookers said Schumer was incensed that Hilary — the daughter of William S. Paley, the founder and chairman of CBS — had voted for Trump, even though her husband, Joseph, is a well-known Democrat. * One witness said of the restaurant rant, “They are a highly respected couple, and Schumer made a scene yelling, ‘She voted for Trump!’ The Califanos left the restaurant, but Schumer followed them outside.” * On the sidewalk, Schumer carried on with his fantastical filibuster: “ ‘How could you vote for Trump? He’s a liar!’ He kept repeating, ‘He’s a liar!’ ”" -- Hmmm.. Trump is a liar"? Compared to Hellary, Trump is a saint with the truth.. Obviously, Unlike George Washington who "couldn't tell a lie", UpChuck Schmoozer cannot tell what a lie is after listening to Hellary and Obama's version of what's "the truth".

---
From the "you won't see this in the HuffPOOPOO" department - Online story: "“It seems he’s woken up the animal spirits,” declared Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JP Morgan. * The economic data agrees. Job growth is booming, far surpassing economists’ expectations. Mining and construction jobs are coming back sooner than expected. Wages are rising faster than expected. * That’s not even mentioning the stock market itself, which has beenrocking and rolling since the election thanks to the so-called “Trump Bump.” -- Hmm, and for that matter, you won't hear UpChuck Schmoozer talk about the growth of his stock portfolio either.

---
With all the questions raised about the MCSD's desire to bring in a tainted contractor to run an alternative "school" for discipline problem students, where's Lisa Jenkins on the issue.. She noisily campaigned for the last school SPLOST and school board elections on such issues, but is amazingly absent now.

---
There's a list of the top arms/weapons arms/weapon buyers during the last year of Obama's administration: Egypt "bought" $238 MILLION worth, Morocco "bought" $244 MILLION worth, Mexico "bought" $280 MILLION worth, Qatar "bought" $596 MILLION worth, UAE (United Arab Emirate) "bought" $773 MILLION worth, Iraq "bought $893 MILLION worth, and Saudi Arabia bought $1.9 BILLION worth.. That's a total of $4.9 BILLION Obama sold to Muslim nations in 2016 alone!  It's alarming as it is, but even more so when you ask "other than Iraq, what are those countries using these weapons for"? Are any "helping" fight ISIS?

---
Online story: "You have to admire cyclists. Biking is super environmentally friendly, reduces congestion on already choked urban arteries and has health benefits, too. But if you weren’t already sold on the idea of becoming a two (or three) wheeler, here’s another benefit to add to the list: Cycling can also charge your favorite gadgets." -- Good grief.. can't you see the number of walkers getting run-over and cars being run into by bicyclist texting/talking/selfie-ing as they ride along? Oh, and wait until the street thugs along the local Dragonfly Trail learn that those bicycles can be worth thousands of dollars ... and charge their stolen iPhones as well!

Hey, I thought bicycling was away to get AWAY from the stress of everyday worries and issues...

---
L-E headline/story: "Tips for finding the cheapest airfare * The Auto Club Group, AAA, offers some basic principles when booking your flight that can go a long way in helping you get the most for your money." -- Good grief.. hasn't the AAA been listening to Trump's advice about alerting the "enemy" to your plans in advance? What doesn't the AAA understand that airlines know this and are prepared to bump prices on holiday travel based on increased demands?

---
Savvy L-E "soundoff": "The front page story on the new 344-unit apartment complex should mean needed new revenues for Phenix City as a result of the city’s rental tax ordinance." -- Oh, but let's not forget how much Columbus and Georgia tax dollars were poured (literally) into the Whitewater Course to make this possible...

---
How DOES the Columbus Convention & Visitors Bureau "compute" the economic impact of events that take place in Columbus? In today's L-E is a list of events coming to Columbus this week and the economic impact of each.. Several events with participants of 30-to-100 are projected at bringing in between $22,000.00 to "ZERO dollars.. How can an event of 70 areal PGA members bring in "ZERO" dollars of "economic impact"? The CVCB says that the group won't be using any hotel rooms, so their visit is worthless to the local economy.. guess those PGA members won't be eating, driving .. or heaven forbid, partaking in any shopping or clubbing while in town..

---
From the "maybe we ought to leave out a tiny detail, and nobody will notice" departmemt - L-E story: "His defense attorneys, Mark Shelnutt and William Kendrick, maintained S*** acted within the bounds of the law on Dec. 22, 2013, when he saw H*** point a gun at his friends during a fight atop the rear parking deck of Columbus’ Hardaway Building, 945 Broadway. * After the shooting, the owners blocked public access to the parking deck on weekends." -- One thing left out is that the parking deck is the one now used by the Columbus L-E... I guess the L-E has a hard time printing Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "crime problem.. what crime problem? claims when it's happening outside the L-E's reporters' windows.

---
From the "how pathetic can the L-E get" department - The 2017 Brookstone boys golf team just played in a prestigious invitational golf event at an Atlanta golf complex, and the L-E ran a picture of the 2016 Brookstone golf team! Good grief.. no picture would have been better that running an out-of-date one.

---
L-E headline: "Ford to expand U.S. production of trucks, SUVs" -- Yes! See what the leadership of a business success like Trump does for an economy excoriated by the Obama/Democratic Party ?

---
From the "maybe this is exactly what they need " department L-E headline: "Panic spreads in Iraq, Syria as civilians die in U.S. strikes" -- Turn about is fair play in my book, and since Syria and ISIS centers in Iraq have no sympathy for the American and European citizens killed by their "messengers of death". maybe the people of Syria and ISIS-held Iraq will get the message and revolt on jihadist terrorists!

---
L-E headline: "Robots winning race to secure American jobs" -- Well, well, well,  the fruits of the Democratic Party and Obama's efforts have come to roost.. All the talk and effort to reward minimal efforst/abilities with a $15.00 minimum wage has brought technology experts to the forefront in creating such robots for repetive job duties.. Fortunately, Trump is out in front creating better jobs for those who make more than a minimum effort in their jobs..

Tuesday, March 28, 2017

Online story: "Twelve attorneys general and one governor from 13 Republican-led states have filed an amicus brief supporting Trump's ban as it goes to a federal appeals court." -- What's interesting is states with primary Democrat officials, and the worst illegal alien issues of crime/violence do not support better vetting from countries led by dysfunctional governments..Remember, theis is not a TRAVEL ban, but a temporary ENTRY ban.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Online story: "Melania Trump has chosen a communications director * Observers have noted that compared to her predecessor Michelle Obama, Melania has been relatively slow in hiring staff for her office." -- "relatively slow in hiring staff"? Hmm.. how about Mrs Trump has been more prudent at spending excessive tax dollars on an excessively large entourage such as was the case for  Mr's Obama.

---
From the "we refuse to get over it" department - Online headline/story: "Whites without a college degree are dying in America, that's why they voted for Donald Trump  *  Thousands of stories have been written about why angry, poor, under-educated white voters put Donald Trump into the Oval Office in a 2016 presidential election that almost every political analyst got wrong. On Thursday, two Princeton economists released a study that sheds some light on how and why this happened. * Death rates among under-educated whites (those with a high school education or less) have now surpassed blacks overall in America. In fact, mortality rates are 30 percent higher for whites between the ages of 50-54 than for blacks overall of the same age, the Princeton economists – Anne Case and Angus Deaton – said in a study released by the Brookings Institution." -- Wow.. after figuring this out, maybe now liberals will sleep better at night... NOT!

---
From the "we'll cite our worst enemies if we can get our point across" department -- HuffPOOPOO headline:"
Cheney: Russia's efforts to sway US election could be 'act of war'" -- Good grief! Maincream media excoriated Cheney for 8 years because of his Haliburton/Big Oil affliction and his desire to fight in Iraq.

---
From the "look how easy it is for Sean Spicer to distract/control with mainscream minds" department -- HuffPOOPOO story: "First it was his "mismatched" shoes, then it was his upside down flag pin -- and now, a third faux pas has catapulted the White House press secretary back into the Twitter spotlight." -- And without having Kool-Aid for refreshments...

---
You know, why would Texans with property abutting the Mexican border complain about getting a free fence on the border that will protect their homes and families? I would gladly donate access for free!

---
Online headline: "Former candidates slam Trump" -- Hmmm..isn't that what they did during campaign? Isn't Trump who the voters preferred then...and now!

---
There're a few questions every member of the Freedom Caucus should have to answer.. "do they serve their country and constituents or do they serve themselves", and  "did they swear an oath to uphold our Constitution or their group", and  every member of the Freedom Caucus should have to go on record as to why they think a bad old bill is better than a better new bill which could be improved even more in the future as new data is available...

---
You know, if you believe it's "OK" to tax people/families for not buying into buying OObamaCRAP insurance, shouldn't you also believe it's fair to tax criminals/families to pay for their legal and incarceration costs?

---
Online story: "Employees of a hedge fund founded by the king of the Institutional Left, billionaire and Democratic Party mega-donor George Soros, donated tens of thousands of dollars to top Republicans who fought against President Donald Trump in 2016, donation records compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics show. * In total, executives with the Soros-founded company pushed $36,800 into the coffers of these GOP candidates ( Ryan, Bush, Graham. McCain, Kasich, Rubio et al)  just this past cycle. * Graham spokesman Kevin Bishop argues that since Soros himself didn’t give Graham money that this is not controversial. * “George Soros has never given a penny to Lindsey Graham,” Bishop said in an email. “George Soros Fund Management has never given a penny to Lindsey Graham. These are donations from individuals who are employed by Soros Fund Management.” -- Whiney RINOs are even worse that wimpy ones...Knowingly accepting a donation of a known employee of a known political pariah is revealing...trying to justify it is abominable.

---
Online story: "JESSUP, Md. –  The father of an 18-year-old Rockville High School student charged with the rape of a fellow classmate has been arrested for being in the country illegally, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)." -- Hmm.. guess ICE is making sure the "family" isn't separated.. liberals should appreciate the irony of their wishes.

---
Online headline/story: "Judge allows Oregon resident to be genderless * Multnomah County Judge Amy Holmes Hehn on March 10 granted a petition allowing Patrick Abbatiello to go from male to "agender" and switch to the single name Patch. * People who are agender see themselves as neither a man nor a woman and have no gender identity." -- What's really been revealed is that the judge has revealed she's "gutless", and not worthy of being paid to make decisions.

---
L-E headline: "Bill would make it easier to get liquor licenses" -- Good grief.. they way test scores are going, why not allow alcohol sales in teachers' lounges as well. and learning that some schools have 18 year old "freshmen", why not just serve it in the school cafeterias?

---
L-E headline/story: "ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION * District delays vote on $6.4M contract *  The AIM program (Achievement, Integrity and Maturity) currently at Edgewood, annually serving 400-500 students in grades 3-12 temporarily removed from their assigned school because of severe violations of the district’s behavior code. It would be called the Transitional School at Marshall with a capacity for 250 students in grades K-12 at one time, adding grades K-2 current not served." -- Good grief.. even if the 400/500  students served would be there full time, we would be paying $12,800 -to- $16,000 per child, but since "attendance" would be random and temporary on a daily basis, the cost per student would be elevated to even higher costs per child.. and again I ask, why would any sane administrator think any K-4th grade student  should be sent to an institution of  incarceration? Those kids need to be sent home with a note to their parents to teach them rudimentary manners.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "It's not fake news. Smoking is addictive and even second-hand smoke kills people dead. Ask your doctor. Make Columbus smoke-free as possible. You will save a lot of lives for generations to come." -- Then campaign on making tobacco and illegal product.. but good luck with that as bureaucrats have been come addicted to tobacco TAXES, and aren't willing to give those up.

L-E headline: "‘Sanctuary cities’ could lose federal grants" -- "could lose federal grants"? Excuse me.. SHOULD lose federal grants!

Monday, March 27, 2017

Someone in the Synovus accounting department must not have gotten the memo...either that or last weeks story about CB&T changing it's name NEXT year..We got a checking account statement Friday with Synovus in the return address corner and not one mention of CB&T.. neither outside nor on the statement itself.

---
From the "update" department - Online headline: "HILLARY'S EMAIL SCANDAL NOT OVER YET *
Lawsuit filed after feds refuse to do routine evaluation of harm from 'extremely careless' handling" -- Hmm.. Even those disaster repair companies can't promise "Like it didn't happen".

---
You know, all the negative polls about Trump could be shot down simply by asking if any Trump voter would change their vote now and give it to Hellary.

---
You know, no one should be asked for their opinion in a poll if they cannot be confirmed as having ACTUALLY voted in the latest election.

---
Democrat voters should be in mortal fear...Maxine Waters celebrated OObamaCRAP being upheld.

---
The Freedom Caucus is the poster child for Walt Kelly's famous ,"Pogo" utterance..."we have met the enemy, and it is us."..the Freedom Caucus read the OObamaCRAP bill then joined every Democrat in upholding it.

---
From the "whatta grandstand effort in futility" department - Online headline/story: "Democrats introduce 'MAR-A-LAGO' Act to force Trump to provide visitor logs * Democrats are giving Donald Trump a transparency gut check in the form of a new bill with a mouthful of a name — and an acronym that takes an unsubtle dig at the president. * The "Making Access Records Available to Lead American Government Openness Act" — or MAR-A-LAGO Act — would require the Trump administration to disclose the names of anyone who visits the White House or "any other location at which the President or the Vice President regularly conducts official business." -- Good grief.. Mainscream media doesn't even know it is being used by the Democrats as its Monica Lewinsky! First, no Democrat sponsored bill is likely to even make it to the House floor for a vote. Secondly, even if such a bill passed, even veto-proof, Trump wouldn't sign such, and 3rd,  if the House and Senate did override a veto, the Supreme Court  would never uphold it as it will be a bill that singles out one president.

---
From the "Alfred E. Neuman Media Club... What, me biased?" department - Online headline/story: "Pro-Trump MAGA rally erupts into violent clash with counter protesters in California *  The violence erupted, according to the Los Angeles Times, when an anti-Trump protester fired pepper spray at the organizer of the event. Afterward, the black mask-clad protester was set upon by the pro-Trump crowd." -- afterward, the black mask-clad protester was set upon"? .. Hmmm.. first, when a group in uniforms and masks armed with any kind of weapon shows up at a "permitted" event, the police should immediately consider them street thugs,, they are no better that the masked Klan of olden days.. secondly, when someone has initiated a violent attack with a weapon such as pepper spray, and someone responds, it is an act of self-defense, not an act of being "set upon".

---
Why are cities.. especially "big cities" in the US given huge amounts of tax money each year? New York City gets over $700 MILLION.. Chicago/Cook County gets over $525 MILLION. LA gets over $466 MILLION, Miami gets over $355 MILLION, and Philadelphia gets $200 MILLION... ANNUALLY .. with annual "raises"! It's pure vote buying as when have any of these cities ever voted for a Republican president.. or mayor for that matter?

Working Americans are being screwed.. I saw a person buy a pair of shoes using her EBT card at Targets yesterday!

---
From the "did you know" department" Did you know that wearing a mask in public is a felony in the state of Virginia that can result in a year in jail? Maybe Trump rallies should be held in Virginia (and other states that have a similar law) so the police will arrest the masked anti-American, pro-Hellary protesters before they attack Trump supporters.

In Tempe, AR, a self-driving Uber vehicle had an accident when another car wrongly made a left turn across its path. The Uber car rolled over on its side. The Uber car was a Volvo.. Bet Volvo is PO'd.

L-E headline/story: "Rock Island Ridges shows off its assets * An upscale apartment community overlooking the Chattahoochee River in Phenix City is moving toward completion   *  Rock Island Ridges at Riverchase, a 346-unit property owned by Phenix City real-estate developer Mike Bowden and managed by Columbus-based Flournoy Companies, is shooting for the middle of July to have everything finished in all five main structure" -- Saw this driving across the J.R Allen Parkway Bridge into Phenix City a coupke of weeks ago and wondered what it was.. Well, now we know.. it's a culmination of all the Columbus tax dollars spent building the RiverWalk and Whitewater course.. only Columbus want be benefiting from any property tax additions. I'll say this. my friend Mike Bowden has built a great new complex and is smart enough to recognize how to utilize the system for his best benefits.  Pretty smart..sorta Trumpish..

Ultra LIV's L-E "soundoff": "To those who are so vehemently opposed to democratic socialism: Ask yourself why Denmark rated themselves number one again in the “Happiest Nation” Index. The U.S. dropped from thirteenth to fourteenth place." -- Well.. move there.. enjoy your bicycles as gas is $9.69 a gallon, and a Toyota Corolla costs $27,000.00, and your 1 bedroom city apartment costs $1,050.00 to rent or $408.00 a square ft to buy.

---
Really stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Do Republican lawmakers really think we’re so stupid we don’t know the difference between “accessible” and “affordable” health insurance?" -- YES! And until you stop getting tax credits and supplements, you will never know!

---
L-E headline: "Public Safety Center to close on weekends" -- Good grief.. closing the entire center from public access  instead of either pulling a couple of uniformed workers from the 911 Call Center (which would give some better response times). or taking a couple of motorcycle officers and putting them in a 4-door vehicle makes no sense to the public.

---
You know, in an effort to promote athletics as well as state and alumni pride, the NCAA should adopt scholarship rules that scholarships, whether athletic or academic, could only be given to bona fide residents completing 6 years (or more) of in-state schooling of the state the university/college is in.

---
I couldn't believe it, but I actually watched a basketball game between South Carolina and Florida. Other against UGA or Mississippi State, I wouldn't have watched Florida play South Carolina in football unless it was the Finals of the BCS.

Online story: "A Florida woman is being told to take down her Blue Lives Matter flag that's been flying for several years now by her homeowners association. * Jeff Gaddie told Action News Jacksonville that his daughter in St. Johns County has been flying the flag to honor him and many other family members who are law enforcement. * "She called to ask why," Gaddie said. "They told her they had received a complaint that it was considered racist, offensive and anti-Black Lives Matter,” he said." -- "racist, and offensive"? "Blue Lives Matter" encapsules men and women of EVERY color, creed and gender.. Let's face it .. only flags/signs/T-shirts with words saying only one color of life matters is the REAL Racist and Offensive comment.

Hmm.. if Georgia "legalizes" marijuana, will it be banned to smoke it in Columbus, GA because of the new "no public smoking" law the City Council is pushing?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: " Melania Trump responds to her and Donald Trump's 'separate bed' reports" -- You know.. HuffPOOPOO should have been more concerned about which women Bill Clinton ALLOWED in his bed and Oval Office  rather than running fake news about the Trumps.

---
Online headline: "City's battle against potholes has strange allies * Deciding to take matters in their own hands, a group of vigilantes have taken to the street to fix potholes" -- Ooooops my bad.. had hopes a new group had organized in revolt in Columbus, GA to fix streets for cars while Mayor Tom-LYING-son diverts tax dollars o pave  new bicycle paths.. then I realized.. she ordered the Police Headquarters shut on weekends so she could put 2 more officers on the streets, and they might arrest pothole fixing vigilantes.

---
L-E story: "A (GA) Senate committee approved a bill that will eliminate sales taxes on taxi and limousine rides. The proposal was initially designed to increase tax collection from ride-hailing services Uber and Lyft, but senators instead opted to eliminate all taxes on transportation services." -- "senators instead opted to eliminate ALL taxes on transportation services"? What about the sales taxes on gasoline.. those amount to about 35-cents a gallon here in Columbus.

---
From above story: "The new version also would legalize daily fantasy sports, including the well-known DraftKings or Fan-Duel sites, and give a tax break to people paying for repairs on large boats." -- Good grief.. legalized online gambling, and can you get this.. a tax break for people who own yachts et al?

---
L-E story: "I spoke with Pat Biegler, director of public works, which includes the urban forestry division, which handles such stuff. Biegler said her department handles most all of the city’s tree work, save for rare instances when a job is too big for city equipment." -- "too big for city equipment"? Good grief.. the city owns it's own stump grinder, a host of "claw" limb picker-uppers, and a 100' reach "cherry-picker truck.. what does Bigler consider "too big"?

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " A poll by Germany's ARD media group found that the percentage of Germans who think the U.S. Is a “trustworthy ally” dropped from 59% in November to 22% last month." -- First. this sounds like something unsubstantiated that a lib will pull out of the air and post as "fact", but if true, it basically mimics a childhood tantrum when parents cut-off a poor behaving child's allowance.

---
Posted daily by the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer: "The Ledger-Enquirer strives to be accurate, fair and complete in its coverage and corrects significant errors of fact." -- I can count 4 significant promises that the L-E doesn't keep.. anyone disagree?

L-E headline: "School board plans vote on alternative ed contractor" -- Just curious, but haven't there been enough questions raised about Camelot for the board to want more info before hiring them? And, once again, why are K-4th grade children being incarcerated in a discipline facility? Why aren't they just sent home to their parents ?

What is Synovus thinking...I guess without any Columbus folks managing it anymore, the out of towners don't understand why CB&T has such a strong grasp of most of the money in town.. While the other banks have such "corporate" names, most people like having a hometown sounding bank to deal with. Now, Coumbus Bank and Trust, a.k.a. CB&T, becoming "Synovus" will sound just as "corporate"...and cold...as the other banks in town. Time will tell..

You know, if person goes to Congress as a Democrat with only legislatively changing the Constitution on his/her mind/agenda, then why aren't they impeached the first time they fail to defend the  Constitution they had to swear to protect?

---
Wow! How cryptic....Just got my 2nd WOW bill of -$20.56. I changed cable services in January, and even though I went to the local office, I was overcharged on final bill. Last month I was notified via my first "negative balance", so I figured I'd get a check this month..Today, I got a second "negative balance" bill, so I called. After several "menu" stops,I got a live person. After several minutes, she informed me that my check was sent March 19th..and I could expect delivery in "3 to 6 weeks". I said,"Huh...come again...3 to 6 weeks?".. Without missing a beat, she confirmed, "Yes, that's how long it takes." I guess it was mailed from one of the "entry banned countries", and the mail won't be forwarded until it's been properly vetted. I think I will fill out the survey they sent asking me if my departure was because of a service issue...heh heh heh.
What "WOW" doesn't know is about 75,000 people are seeing how lame it's customer service is.

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Report: Over 275 people killed by police so far in 2017 * The count stated on the website 'Killed By Police' is an unofficial one, and the deaths listed are a result of scouring the web for relevant reports. * In general, comprehensive sources for such information are very hard, if not impossible, to come by." -- Here we go again info from a source that's "an unofficial one", but running with unconfirmed info is a mainscream media event.. Now.. wouldn't it be nice.. wonderful.. if the count was "0".. You know.. it could be.. but it's not and that's why we have to have our dedicated and brave police/law enforcement officers. BLUE LIVES MATTER!

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Lawmaker calls for complete shutdown of Trump agenda over possible collusion with Russia" -- Good grief.. it's a Democrat.. what else do they have to focus on

---
That rape of a 14 year old girl in a Maryland school by illegal aliens ADULTS should be placed squarely on the shoulders of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and UpChuck Schmoozer. Those are the three that have continually  thwarted  immigration legislation that would have prevented this from happening!

---
L-E headline: "Developer rethinks use of 1228 Broadway as block is reactivated" -- Tell you what.. the business developers in downtown better start working hard.. to make sure Trump gets re-elected in 2020, and that someone of non-liberal bias gets elected as Columbus' mayor in 2018. It's going to take a complete economic turnaround for the consumer-public to generate enough extra disposable income to support all theses restaurants/bars/food specialty businesses. More of the "same" offered by the current Mayor/Council will not cut it, and no presidential offering of the Democratic Party has the business acumen to boost our economy.

---
L-E headline: "Mayor: City will continue to monitor Foxy Lady Lounge" -- "continue to monitor"? Good grief.. Tom-LYING-son sounds like one of the idiots on a "LifeLock" commercial saying they are "security" or "dental" monitors, not guards or dentists. How about POLICING rather than MONITORING the crime area!

After seeing "pictures" captured by security systems showing "perpetrators" in action, why haven't more business upgraded their cameras to capture in HD rather than the highly pixilated pictures hat we see in the newspaper?

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Trump: I feel 'somewhat' vindicated by House Intelligence Committee chair's revelations" -- Hmmm.. Knowing that transcripts of a conversation between Flynn and the Russian Ambassador..ND Trump and Mexico's President Nieto HAD BEEN LEAKED AND PUBLISHED was already OUT THERE in MAINSCREAM MEDIA, I'd feel better if mainscream media would apologize for it's flagrant ineptitude.

---
HuffPOOPOO story: " The top U.S. House of Representatives intelligence committee Democrat said on Wednesday he had "grave concerns" about the committee's ability to conduct a credible investigation after its Republican chairman suggested President Donald Trump's communications may have been collected during surveillance. * "I have expressed my grave concerns with the Chairman that a credible investigation cannot be conducted this way," U.S. Representative Adam Schiff said in a statement." -- I reckon Schiff does have "grave concerns".. he, and the other Democrats on the Intelligence (what an oxymoron) Committee been pretty much exposed as lying obstructionists..

---
Online headline: "Starbucks says it will hire 15,000 more veterans after facing backlash for refugee hiring plan" -- So much for liberalism when it chops off the bottom line profits that make it possible..sorry, Starbucks.. too little too late.

---
L-E story: "The $155,000 settlement reached by the city and a former Columbus Convention & Trade Center employee stemmed from the woman’s request for extended leave because of seizures." -- This is ludicrous! Mayor Tom-LYING-son wanted to raise our property taxes so she could waste it on something like this.. where was the personal responsibility of the director... we taxpayers need not be punished for bad personal choices!

---
We're back from Florida, but on the day we left, we got a postcard asking us to take a survey concerning about our sidewalk situation. Hmmm.. I look at the last sidewalk program Council initiated and I shudder at how dangerous they are, and how financially wasteful building them was. I drive 3 sections daily that I would avoid using to walk on. On Mobley Rd, Whitesville Rd, and Double Churches, not only are they too close to the roads, there are no curbs between the sidewalks and the roads, but..what's worse is that post boxes are placed on the homes side of the sidewalks so Post Office carriers actually have to drive on the sidewalks to put mail in the boxes.

---
One thing for sure was obvious when we watched coverage of the terrorist attacks in London is that American car manufacturers are not treated fairly..Did you see those BMW police cars? Don't tell me Ford or Chevy couldn't provide those cheaper if there were fair trade practices in place.

You know.. Republicans who vote against the current proposed healthcare change bill will be identified with Democrats and OObamaCRAP in 2018.... except no Democrat will switch over to vote for them.

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

Good grief..Sen Feinstein told Gorsuch that she had a 7,000 page report.. and 450 page "summary" on a certain subject. What is it with Democrats about wasting paper? The Democrat 00bamaCRAP bill was over 2400 pages..it's replacement is but 100. Democrats just love lots and lots of words because they can respond with, "I know you heard what I said, but what you heard is not what I said/meant"

---
I tell you what, I have been ready to discuss term limits for Congresspersons for 3 or 4 years simply because of Californians Pelosi, Boxer, Waters and Feinstein, but Dick Durbin of Illinois just tilted the scales to my becoming an activist for term limits beginning TODAY! His questions and insinuations towards Supreme Court Justice nominee Gorsuch brought a new low in ethics and dignity that should be expected from a sitting Congressperson!

---
Online story: "A North Korean missile appeared to have exploded on Wednesday just after it was launched," -- Talk about "deja vu".. that's about the sequence each Democrat followed in the Gorsuch confirmation hearings.. they'd open their mouths.. then implode!

Question: Did anyone in Columbus, GA  see any discussion of the janitorial issue in the last "work session " of the MCSD? I still want to know the names of all the custodial services that have contracts with the school system..

---
Online story: "The (GA) House Insurance Committee on Monday passed revamped legislation to reduce “surprise billing,’’ in which patients using hospitals in their insurance network may still get unexpected bills from doctors who are not in the network." -- A good first step.. but why do Congressional "leaders" seemingly forget the 1975 (I believe) laws passed during the "WIN" (Whip Inflation Now) campaign under President Ford and the Democrats that stated no company could charge any person a different price than another person for the same product or services?

If you are in Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia , mark your calendars and cellphone reminders for August 17 this year.  We will be able to see a "total Solar eclipse"

L-E headline: "McConnell rejects cuts to research and foreign aid" -- Like Dick Durbin, Mitch McConnell is a definite poster child for term limits.

You know, it's not the quantity of mainscream media propagandist barking at Trump that bothers me, but it's the mainscream media's obvious collusion and unity over issues and soundbytes.

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Since N.A.T.O. is in the mainscream media "news". I did a little looking...NATO now has 28 members, but if you parse N.A.T.O, it's an acronym for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. My logic says that the North Atlantic ocean should be a common bond for membership.. Only 12 of those 28 are in contact with the North Atlantic.. Since when is an organization that has more non-common bond members  really a purposeful... useful.. organization?

---
I am tired of the phrases, "we can "see" no evidence" and "there is no evidence".. They are carefully stated "sound bytes".. sorta like Bill Clinton saying , "it depends on how you define IS". In the traditional political world, anything that leaves "seeable evidence" is avoided at all cost.. or destroyed by taking a hammer to the hard drives and cellphones.

---
First, why did Congressman Devin Nunes, R-CAgive Rep. Schiff, D-CA, the investigation floor for an uninterrupted 15 minutes? Secondly, Schiff's claim that Russia undermined Hellary's campaign by releasing information about her various scandals. Hmmm, you know, if Hellary had not PARTICIPATED in those scandals, Russia..or for that matter, US media, those would not even have been an issue.

Oh, since Comey and Rogers are there 'under oath' to tell the truth, why wasn't Rep. Schiff sworn in before giving his 15 minute tirade of insinuations?

---
You know, the only obvious discovery during the intelligence investigation is that intelligence is not a prerequisite of being a Democrat Congressperson.

---
Democrats were insistent in asking Comey and Rogers about whether the Russians were trying to "hurt" Hellary. What they didn't show was that the Russians were wishing  Hellary wouldn't win more than
whether Trump or Bush or Kasich was the Republican candidate.

---
Apparently Comey lied.. lied about whether any Republican e-mails/documents were gleaned by hacking. Here is a site that has posted several Republican exchanges that were hacked: http://archive.is/jmZse

---
Comey pulled a "Janet Reno" ( Clinton couldn't fire her and risk her revealing anything).. He's going to keep his job now, because if Trump "fires him", mainscream media will focus continuously on that issue for as long as Trump leads this country.

---
L-E story: "Muscogee County School Board members are mostly mum about allegations of student abuse against the company to whom the superintendent wants to award a $6.4 million contract to run alternative education programs. *  ▪ The AIM program (Achievement, Integrity and Maturity) currently at Edgewood, annually serving 400-500 students in grades 3-12 temporarily removed from their assigned school because of severe violations of the district’s behavior code. * and adding grades K-2." -- You know, paying $6.400,000 to babysit 500 kids is $12,800.00 per child, and MORE than is spent per child that behaves. (and it's $16,000.00 per child if there are only 400 in AIM). Oh... why are kids in K-2 being added? If a child that age is a severe discipline problem, then the child is not ready for school and community interaction. Send the child back to the parents !

From above story: "The Ledger-Enquirer tried to contact officials at the five school districts where Camelot staffers allegedly abused students. Two were reached for comment by Monday, and both expressed only positive comments about the company."  - - Good grief.. what school official is going to say ANYTHING negative to any "reporter" about a contractor who works for the school system!  It's sorta like asking a nurse at a hospital about whether a doctor is "good".. The stock comment will be, "Well. he/she's "board certified".

Suggested reading about "Camelot": https://www.wbez.org/shows/wbez-news/pastors-savvy-connections-and-chicago-schools-how-one-private-company-raked-in-50-million/949a1a9f-8d92-464c-a3c6-38d04d89e768

L-E headline: "Comey confirms probe of Trump’s Russia ties" -- Is that what the L-E "got" out of this? Maybe the L-E is like Obama.. it doesn't know anything until after it appears in a newspaper headline..The whole purpose of the Congressional Investigation is to "probe" Comey!

---
L-E headline/story: "GOVERNMENT CENTER * Mayor’s commission considers 3 options * Option 2 would involve the construction of a 303,306 square-foot facility at a cost of $87 million. Option 3 would cost $95.6 million for a 238,106-square-foot judicial building and a 65,200-square-foot government center." --  You know, local attorney, Democrat, and MCSB member, Frank Myers is right about the Carmike building.. the Committee "estimate" comes in at over $315.00 a square foot for new construction.  The Carmike Building (listed at 65,000 sq ft - but over 80,000 sq ft on the local property tax database) can be bought for $66.00 a square ft (based on 65,000 sq ft). and  it already has a parking deck.

Just wish Frank was as diligent on buying overpriced house/property to park 50-60 cars next to Columbus High.. nearly a $1 MILLION for 60 spots is about $833.00 a sq ft per parking space..

LIVs L-E "soundoff": "When someone uses phrases like "Trust me" or "Believe me," I usually don't."  -- Unless, of course. it's mainscrean media, Obama or Hellary speaking their "gospel".

---
Another LIVs L-E "soundoff": "Global warming is real. Why would anybody make that up? One evening my air-conditioner is on, the next night my heater is on. That’s real enough to me." -- AC-HEAT-AC-Heat.. hmmm.. sounds more like a lib is pulling someone's "chain" like a yo-yo.

L-E headline: "Democratic senators express doubts about Gorsuch" -- That about confirms that Gorsuch is much needed.. Now, why weren't the Democrat Senators concerned about Kagan and Sotomayor?

L-E headline/story: "Tom Brady’s Super Bowl jersey found in Mexico *  Police and the NFL announced Monday that Brady’s jersey, which disappeared from the locker room after the Patriots’ 34-28 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons last month, had been found in Mexico. The NFL said the jersey was in “possession of a credentialed member of the international media.” *  U.S. and Mexican officials have not yet identified the suspect, but the name of a former newspaper director circulated widely in Mexican news media and on social networks. The newspaper’s owner, Organizacion Editorial Mexicana, issued a statement saying the director had resigned from La Prensa on March 14 for “personal reasons.” The company learned only Monday of his possible involvement in the jersey case, it said." -- Hmm.. TRUMP IS RIGHT! Build that WALL!

From the "mainscream polls still use Common Crap Math" department: HuffPOOPOO headline story: "Poll: President Trump's approval rating sinks to lowest point ever * At 37 percent, Trump's approval is now at the lowest point of his presidency so far, according to the latest Gallup poll. His previous bottom number was 38 percent, which Trump hit back in mid February. *  To put Trump's numbers in perspective, at the same point during his first term, President Obama's approval rating was between 62 and 63 percent, according to Gallup polling " -- First .. did any of you get a call from Gallop?...Secondly.. what the 37% for Trump vs 62/63 for Obama really mean is Gallop respondents are comparing Trump's efforts of good work with the Obama's having a good time.. excuse me,, Oh, and the only poll, Rasmussen daily tracking poll, has Trump's approval rating at 48%..and Rasmussen was the only major poll that predicted Trump's win. (Of course, you all know the Breakfast Club predicted Trump winning even before Rasmussen).

---
I tell you what.. as long as the liberals gang up on Trump, and Trump keeps doing what he's doing to "Make America Great Again, the Democrats are slowly committing political hari kari.

---

You know..once you remove the peel, what it all boils down to is that 00bamaCRAP was a mandated insurance scam....not a healthcare plan.

Online headline: "Federal government solicits design proposals for border wall with Mexico" -- 30 feet tall.. projected to be upwards of $25 Billion.. sounds like a bargain to me whether Mexico pays for it directly or indirectly.

From  FactCheck.org comments about the annual taxpayer costs of illegal aliens:

"For those who want more, we take on each of the e-mail’s claims in order:

1. "$11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year."
This item is completely false. The link given to "verify" the claim actually leads to an issue brief by the conservative Federation for American Immigration Reform. But the FAIR brief says nothing of the sort. It says: "Each year, state governments spend an estimated $11 billion to $22 billion to provide welfare to immigrants." That’s welfare payments in 2001 to all immigrants – both legal and illegal – plus households including U.S. citizens if they are headed by a person who was born outside the United States

This is based on 2001.. it's now 2017 so imagine the influx since - "That's the welfare payments in 2001 to0 all immigrants - both legal and illegal - plus households including U.S. citizens if they are headed by a person who was born outside the United States" -- You know.. taxpayer funded welfare payments should not be given non-citizens.. whether legally or illegally in the US.. even potential. and especially obvious "marriages of  convenience" to gain/extend an illegal aliens stay in America.

---
From the "blown out of proportion" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "US applications for New Zealand citizenship skyrocket in wake of Trump's presidency *  American applications for New Zealand citizenship have jumped up by 70 percent, according to immigration records obtained by the Associated Press. * In October 2016, just before Trump was elected, the website received only 305 citizenship-related visits. Post-win in November 2016, that number jumped up to 4,146." Good grief.. 4,146 fewer liberals leaving  here won't even disturb the surface of box of fresh cat litter..but it's a good start!

---
Online headline: "Bill Maher calls Rachel Maddow's Trump tax scoop 'a big nothing burger'" -- Good grief,, Rachel Maddow was "a big nothing burger" BEFORE the Trump tax form reveal.. but.. so is.
/was Bill Maher.. and, for that matter, all the liberal media anchors that are use to dealing with "facts" they create that go unchallenged within the mainscream media world, versus FACTS that are on verifiable documents.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Hillary Clinton says she's 'ready to come out of the woods' as she hints at political future *  During remarks to the Society for Irish Women's annual St. Patrick's Day dinner, she admitted it was tempting to stay tucked away from the limelight, but said she knew she had to fight for the causes she believes in." -- "causes she believes in"? Good grief.. who would BELIEVE she actually would tell the truth about anything she says she "believes in"?

L-E story:
COLUMBUS FATALITIES

Columbus so far in 2017 has had 10 fatalities and 11,558 crashes.

In 2016, it had 27 deaths and 12,198 wrecks.

In 2015, it had 15 deaths and 12,450 wrecks.

In 2014, it had 22 deaths and 11,967 wrecks.

In 2013, it had 14 deaths and 12,121 wrecks.

In 2012, it had 24 deaths and 11,558 wrecks.

Source: Sgt. Chris Anderson, Columbus Police Department.

Will someone verify the figure of 11,558 being the number of crashes in 2 1/2 months versus similar figures for 12 months in each of the last 5 years? On this track, Columbus would end up with over 55,000 crashes. I wonder if the figure for 2012 was erroneously transposed to reflect the 2017 crashes.. It's more than coincidental that the two figures are identical.

---
From the "perpetual damages caused by extended Kool-Aid drinking" department - Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The last time The White House and Oval Office were this defiled and soiled was during the War of 1812, when the Brits burned the place to the ground." -- You know, in liberalese speak..this makes sense .. Obama lying nor Slick Willie's sodomy in the Oval Office are not considered defiling or soiling the hallowed grounds of the White House..

---
L-E headline/story: "Stolen bicycle saga comes to a happy ending * My (Mike Owen) wife’s beloved bicycle, Miss Ruby as she’s known, once was lost, but now she’s found." -- While all of us are glad to know that our friend's bike has been recovered, was the story "news/column worthy"? Now that the "world" outside the biking community  KNOWS that Specialized Ruby bicycles are "pricey" ( a quick I-net search shows a range of $1300.00-to-$4.500.00 (with electronic gear shifting), thugs along the Dragonfly Trail will definitely be interested in "acquiring" some..

---
L-E headline/content: " EDITORIALS * Recognition that ethical conduct still matters * So when corporate institutions are publicly recognized for doing business in ways that set high standards for integrity, it’s an uplifting reminder that material success and ethical dealings really are compatible, and always ought to be. It’s especially uplifting when two of the most prominent among those institutions are in our own community." -- Hmmm.. guess it's not so important in Dusty Nix's mind that political ethics is probably even more important..where was Dusty's concerns for ethics when the L-E endorsed Hellary for preisent, and when the L-E did not defend Senator Josh McKoon when the state GOP shut JOsh out from the real ethics committee chairmanship?

L-E headline: "CHUCK BERRY: 1926-2017 * Legend who defined rock ’n roll dies at 90" -- Chuck Berry.. we loved ya!

L-E guest opinion :headLIE": "COMMENTARY * It’s a Muslim ban, any way you slice it * BY CHRISTINE FLOWERS * Philadelphia Daily News" -- You know.. one day, even liberals will stop believing this... to begin with,, it's not a "travel ban".. it's a TEMPORARY "ENTRY into the US ban" for people carrying visas/passports from 6 countries that have a too dysfunctional "government" for US Immigration agents can retrieve any valid information that can verify the background/purpose of their citizens being allowed into America at this point in time.

Online headline: "Will council curb smokin’ in the boy’s room?" -- I quit smoking cigarettes on March 23rd, 1989 shortly before my 42nd birthday. It was a good choice for me. IMHO, it's a good choice for everyone, but that's not my decision.. Council is (excuse the pun) "BUTTing" up against fascism by "choosing" this for everyone.. I'm going to be real curious how Council interprets smoking tobacco vs smoking marijuana and cocaine and e-cigarettes. Council may get a District  9 Fed judge to back up its decision, but I'm sure Council will run up bigger legal fees on this than any other issue we taxpayers have been stuck paying Mayor Tom-LYING-son's legal buddies ....

Oh, and can you see the signs welcoming guests to the bar & grill, and nightclub district.. "Entertainment District.. a Smoke Free Zone.. litter the streets with your BUTTS before entering".

I hate it when mainscream media focuses on "seeing" evidence about Trump being under surveillance.. mainscream media still doesn't hold Hellary responsible for her minions destroying hard drives, computers, or cellphones to cover up her e-mail trails.

I really wonder if the real purpose of "Together 2016/17" is mainly to keep the L-E financially afloat so it can keep defending the MCSD and Mayor Tom-LYING-son's liberal projects.. I cannot remember a day this year that the L-E hasn't had one of Together 2016/17's ads.

Let me get this straight.. the three branches of government swear to uphold the same  US Constitution, yet some low level federal court judge can undermine the legitimate order of the president when he's exercising a direct power endowed to him.. Liberalism has got to be culled from our nation!

From the "Chicken Little may have been right" department - Online headline/story: "NASA announces plan to turn the sun into a giant 'magnifying glass' * Scientists at NASA have revealed a new plan to turn the Sun into a giant magnifying glass, tapping into a phenomenon called gravitational lensing to locate new planets in ultra-high resolution. * Gravitational lensing happens when light is taken from a distant object -- the sun, in this case -- and manipulated to warp around and view a much larger object, like another galaxy." -- As Robin might exclaim, "Holy Batcrap! -- Call... write.. get ion a plane and talk with your Congressperson.. can you not see a "government "efficiency glitch" being served up on a platter? Tim Allen was saying that in Hollywood.. and being around entertainment celebrities in general, you have to be careful speaking up against what "they believe".. HuffPOOPOO has made it sound like the opposite.

Online headline: "Former acting CIA director doubts Trump-Russia collusion * former Acting CIA Director Michael Morell's comments, in particular, have gotten attention because he endorsed Trump's opponent, Hillary Clinton." -- Hmmm... even Hellary's smart supporters are abandoning her as their supply of Kool-Aid wears off.

---
I think I have Trump's "Bowling night" congregations figured out..he wants liberals and RINOs to get back to knowing what a set balls feel like.

---
It seems the "go to" phrase to deny surveillance of Trump during the election & post election periods is "we can SEE no evidence of government surveillance" .. Of course not...on two issues..one is any credible "evidence" was not in writing, and two, the Democratic Party/DNC are not " government" entities. Let's face it, "the Plumbers" in Nixon's Watergate break-ins were not operating as government agents.

---
L-E headline/story: "National champion high school program seeking donations * Quaker State will transport the Mustang to Florida, but the Jordan contingent of 10 students and two adults plans to leave April 5 in two SUVs. They are trying to raise $3,500 to cover their expenses. They already collected $1,300 from the donations they received while displaying the Mustang at the Valley Auction in Phenix City, Harris said." -- OK, Columbus.. in the vernacular of the Mustang community, "let's 'pony up'!" My family is going to give $1,000.00 towards this.. Make you checks out to "MCSD - Jordan HIgh School with a note in the Memo slot, for the Mustang Travel Team for Quaker Oil contest" Let's support of industrious.. and victorious young adults!

From a still-on-Kool-Aid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "A new word soon to be added to Webster’s: “Trumpian” — as in “He told a falsehood of trumpian" -- Good grief.. After liberals digesting nearly 25 years of Hellary-isms and 9 years of Obama-bytes, how can anything related to the truth be recognized coming from others?

---
I applaud Chief Boren for his research diligence in this matter and considering taxpayers in his decision.. but I do want to say I love my Glock .40 cal (Model 22) semi-automatic weapon.. it's recoil is straight back, and I do not lose sight of my target between shooting subsequent rounds. Oh, and it holds 15 (got'em before the 10 round reg went into effect) in a magazine plus 1 in the chamber

From the "correct me if I'm wrong" department - L-E headline: "WASHINGTON * Trump welcomes Merkel for high stakes visit" -- As Fred Sanford might say, "It's the big one! Elizabeth, I'm coming to see you!" I do believe this is the first positive.. well, at least the first non-negative headline the L-E has printed that has Trump's name in it.

---From the "how about a little clarity here" department - L-E story: "The Columbus Council has approved a $155,000 settlement in a disability lawsuit filed against the Columbus Convention and Trade Center by a former employee. * Unetia Perry, an events coordinator, filed the lawsuit against the Columbus Consolidated Government in U.S. District Court, alleging violations of the Americans with Disability Act by the Trade Center. * The settlement comes 11 days after the resignation of David Bevans as the center’s executive director." -- Wait a minute not only do we not know anything about the circumstances of the suit, there's been a L-E "inflection" that the recently resigned ED might be involved.. Inquiring minds WANT TO KNOW!

From the "one of the worst attitudes ever for a college associate professor" department - L-E editorial comment: "YOU PROBABLY READ MY COLUMN CRITIQUING THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE, AND AGREED OR DISAGREED WITH ME. SOME OF MY STUDENTS ALSO DEFEND THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT HELPED DONALD TRUMP WIN THE WHITE HOUSE." -- Good grief.. we support our Electoral College process because our Foundin Fathers knew a pure democracy would perish as soon as enough politicians realized they could buy votes by promising enough people they could get other people to pay for their food and housing. The Founding Fathers protected the whole US by making it hard for large states/cities to control the election process for the nation as a whole. The Founding Fathers knew that if a group of wolves ever outnumbered the rest of the animals, the wolves would get to decide on what was on their dinner menu. Tures is simply  not qualified (other than some questionable college degrees) to be teaching!

Mainscream media gladly reported phone conversations between Mike Flynn and some Russian official, and Trump's conversation with the Mexican president, yet stands in disbelief about Trump's claim that Obama ordered surveillance on him during the election campaign. Who is mainscream media getting its Kool-Aid from now?

---
The federal " meals on wheels" program should be cut..several years ago, I remember seeing figures comparing the government run local 'meals on wheels' program with the local church run 'meals on wheels' program.. The church run program delivered 5 times more meals than the government program at 1/5th the costs!

---
The EPA says Trump's budget cut will cause it to eliminate 3100 jobs. Good grief! With 3100 unnecessary personnel gone, climate change will end by itself!

---
About those District Court level judges who have ruled against Trump's Executive Orders concerning the temporary "entry ban" for all people of 6 dysfunctional countries.... have any of the ruled Trump's orders are unconstitutional on his power to do so?

---
Online headline: "Federal organization which includes NPR and PBS urges Congress to fight Trump's proposal to eliminate funding" -- Good grief.. why should ANY non-profit get ANY federal tax revenue funding! Especially ones that voice political opinions!

---
From the (\"2 + 2 = ?" department - About that judge in Hawaii who issued a "retraining order" Trump's Executive Order for a temporary "entry ban" for people with passports/visas issued by 6 dysfunctional countries. He graduated from Harvard with Obama in 1991, he was appointed US District Court JUdge by Obama in 2013, and.. and  Obama appeared in Hawaii.. unannounced... 2 days before the Judge issued his ruling.. Nah.. Obama  isn't a political activist.. nah.. Obama isn't a liar .. either..

Online HuffPOOPOO "story": " A recent Danish study published in the European Heart Journal 'Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy' has just given us more reason to pause before reaching for the pain killers. * The study shows that while you may be pain-free you're also increasing your risk of cardiac arrest by 31 percent if you have pre-existing heart problems. * Researchers looked at the data from Danish NSAID prescriptions, Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs such as Ibuprofen since 1995, as well as the medical histories of almost 30,000 people who have had a cardiac arrest. * Those with cardiac arrest had taken an NSAID within 30 days of the event." -- "Those with cardiac arrest had taken an NSAID within 30 days of the event"?  Goo grief.. I'll bet EVERY street thug shot down on the streets of Chicago have taken ibuprofen  within 30 days of being killed.. Guess the Danish Research group could just as well conclude that ibuprofen was the reason a Chicago street thug got killed, too.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Oklahoma senator, Trump campaign leader under investigation for incident at motel with teen boy" -- Hmmm... Wonder if HuffPOOPOO would be defending any of the Hellary "campaign leaders" if they had been caught under the same revolting circumstances.. Hmm.. you know, if Trump had disclosed this personally after discovery, mainscream media would probably called him a "homophobe"!

---
From the "is anybody really this stupid" department - HuffPOO headline/story: "NYPD commissioner blasts Trump's budget proposal for making NYC 'less safe'  * The head of the New York Police Department, or NYPD, is speaking out about the dangers the city could face if President Trump's proposed federal budget passes, reports the New York Daily News. * On Thursday, Police Commissioner James O'Neill tweeted, "Under @POTUS budget, virtually all fed funding to #NYPD eradicated. Entire counterterrorism apparatus in nation's top terror target hobbled." * According to the Daily Beast, "Though Trump's budget makes no specific mention of funding for the city's police department, it does end federal funding transfers to cities that offer haven to undocumented immigrants."" -- Good grief.. the head of the NYPD claims that if NYC shelters "undocumented immigrants" then Trump's budget stops federal funding.. Hmmm.. let's look at this "closer".. As I see it, the fact that NYC, along with the head of the NYPD,  allow.. ENCOURAGE and PROTECT "undocumented immigrants".. a.k.a. ILLEGAL ALIENS...then NYC isn't safe WITH or WITHOUT federal funding, and like Trump, I see it as a waste of tax dollars to send NYC any more money!

---
ALERT: There have been 2 known suspicious attacks on two Trump supporters in recent days.. Mike Savage was jumped, and Roger Stone may have been a target in a vehicular ramming, hit-and-run incident.. Let's be aware of other "mysterious" happenings.

Online headline/story: "McDonald's Twitter account calls Trump 'disgusting' with 'tiny hands' * McDonald's Twitter account slammed President Trump on Thursday in an uncharacteristically derogatory tweet. * The tweet, sent at 9:16 a.m. on Thursday, reads: "@realDonaldTrump You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands." *  The message was retweeted more than 600 times and deleted 25 minutes later. * McDonald's did not immediately respond to a request for comment. * The account "pinned" the tweet, meaning it was featured at the top of the brand's Twitter page." -- Hmmm.. boycott comes to mind...at least until we find out what McDonald's does to the perpetrator.. until then I'm buying all my hamburgers elsewhere even after any forthcoming McDonald's apology.

Just looking at a "list" of the best/worst run states in America.. Washington State was listed as 9th Best.. one interesting tidbit was the "Debt-per-capita" at $4,407.00.. Interesting in that Bill Gates lives there,, and the total state debt is $30.8 BILLION dollars.. Why doesn't Gates just pay it off completely so the state would be "debt free" (at least until the Washington House and Senate meet again), and he'd still have over $50 BILLION left over.

Oh, and Nebraska was ranked as 3rd Best, and has the 2nd lowest "debt-per-capita of "only $1,007. Now if Buffett paid off his state's debt, of "just" $1.8 BILLION. Buffett would still have nearly $75 BILLION left..

Oh.. and let's talk about Mark Zuckerburg.. California (home of Facebook) has a "debt-per-capita" of $4,007, and with it's population of nearly 39,000,000.00, the total debt is about $156 BILLION.. so even if Zuckerburg  cash his wealth of $56 Billion, California would still be $100 BILLION in debt.. or if we used Zukerburg's "birth state, NY, with it's "debt-per-capita" of $6,892,00 and it's population of 8.4 MILLION, Zuckerburg would still be broke after pay against NY's debt of $57.9 BILLION

Now.. if we took the combined  "debt-per-capita" of Washington, Nebraska, California and NY ( $246.5 BILLION), and Gates, Buffett, and Zuckerburg pledged their total wealth ($218.5 BILLION) to pay against that debt, those four states alone would still be $28 BILLION in debt! So be it for mainscream media's claims that the wealthiest control the country!

http://247wallst.com/special-report/2016/12/06/the-best-and-worst-run-states-in-america-2/8/

BTW - GA was ranked 27th of 50,, Ummm... I guess you would consider this "average".. and you know what "average" is... either "the best of the worst or the worst of the best"

---
"Right on the money" L-E "soundoff": "I’m a non-smoker and thankful my family members don’t smoke. But a city ordinance making Columbus “smoke-free” is ridiculous. I commend Woodson for speaking out and disappointed other counselors didn’t." -- You know.. our Council is about as consistent and visionary as pollsters backing Hellary as the 2016 presidential race winner. First, Council went after our property taxes to get more revenue, and now, basically, Council has shut down the tax revenues generated by cigarette usage and sales.. go figure.. but please don't use the same math formulae that Council does!

L-E headline/story: "MCSD hears plan for using for-profit alternative ed firm *  A proposed plan designed to improve alternative education in the Muscogee County School District would close the Edgewood Student Services Center and reopen the vacant Marshall Middle School to create a learning center run by a private, for-profit company. * MCSD’s proposed one-year contract with Camelot Education of Austin, Texas, would be for $6.4 million and renewable for up to three years. Lewis wants the board to vote on the contract during its next meeting, March 27 at 6 p.m. * The AIM program currently at Edgewood, serving students temporarily removed from their assigned school because of severe violations of the district’s behavior code." -- Excuse me.. but if you combined all the students in "alternative school programs" who are kept on various school grounds in order to get the state's "funding per child" and totaled the state funds received, would it be revenue neutral for the expenses of contract workers? The MCSD and we know it won't.. Why doesn't the MCSD just suspend/expel such disruptive people and send them home until their parent(s) have instilled justification of why the students should try harder at getting along with the disciplines mandated in the schools? It worked for my generation....

---
L-E headlie: "CLOSINGS * Pause to remember Skateland, Pritchett’s, Shakey’s and Dr. Jive" -- Hmmm..
Amazing.. the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer doesn't remember when it was two separate and competing entities.. The Columbus Enquirer AND the Columbus Ledger  with a morning and afternoon circulation..

L-E headline: "Trump’s proposed budget stirs conflict, even in GOP" -- Hmmm... I guess Trump was right on it when he said "we need to drain the swamp"!

Thursday, March 16, 2017

From the "mainscream media's jaw just hit the floor" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Poll: President Trump's approval rating is on the rise" -- Trump just hit a 52% "approval rating" in the Morning Consult/Politico  poll..  coincides with his release of his 1st budget which increases military spending and cuts in domestic programs.. America sure does respond to support leadership.

---
Hey, y'all.. id you catch any of Trump's Detroit and Nashville meetings yesterday?  He's doing these sit-downs/rallies FOR US.. US as in "us" AND the "US". He wants "us" to know that we are not in the minority or fringe.. we are the majority, and wants us to "feel" good about" having him as our president and leader. Don't let mainscream media's anger and angst demoralize you.. support him in public..

---
You know.. America's greatness works best when we all share the best of our cultures by showing others why it not only is special to us, but how blessed they will be when they understand it and build upon it in their lives.. The chink in the armor to this is when groups segregate themselves and their culture from the rest of us..

---
Did you see the s***-eating grin on Trump's face when he said we might be surprised what "might" come out about his being eavesdropped on during the campaign and time before he took office. It was the same as he watched Rachel Maddow embarrass herself telling the world about his 2005 taxes.

---
Teachers are getting paid too much! Well, at least one I know of is, ..she is paying a high school teenager to grade her elementary grade test papers. You know, when I taught, I looked forward to grading student tests...it kept me closer to whether they were grasping the work they were learning, and enabled me to help them better.... and quicker.

---
Oh.. Trump has missed overturning the most racially directed tax Obama created.. the "indoor tanning tax".

---
Karl Rove is desperate...Was watcjhing him on Fox Business yesterday and he's trying to be relevant in the Republican world but Trump doesn't want/need him.

---
It's amazing how eager Democrats are to be "invited to the table" since Republicans control both houses and the White House..Where was their eagerness to "invite" Republicans "to the table" when they were in control? More importantly, what do Democrats even have that would be valuable to "bring to the table"?

---
Why is it that mainscream media believes Democrats who speak out that Trump is "guilty" because they haven't "seen" any "evidence" that any wire-tapping occurred. These are the same Democrats who defend O0bamaCRAP even though they didn't "see" it before they voted for it. Besides, "intentionally closing one's eyes" to the truth doesn't mean it didn't happen.

---
State Rep John Pezold of District 133 is anti Columbus and GA businesses. He supports the no-sales-taxes on Internet businesses from other states which penalizes local and other GA based businesses who pay property taxes, have to charge/collect local and state sales taxes, and provide jobs..

On the converse, my bride just ordered some things from Pottery Barn.. (which does have a building in GA so it "has" to charge GA/local sales taxes).. after looking at the receipt, I noticed that not only did Pottery Barn charge and collect the GA/local sales taxes on the goods she bought, we were also charged sales taxes on the "shipping and processing" charges. Now that's a law that needs changing.. Oh, and Pezold doesn't want to have GA/local sales taxes on Uber rides (but he's not trying to remove it on what taxi cabs
collect from riders.

---
Oh, Pezold's "excuse" for not wanting sales taxes to be charged on Internet purchases is that it will bring in "$500,000.00" in sales taxes that aren't accounted for in the state budget. Hmmm.. well, Pezold, how about bringing that revenue on into the GA revenue stream, and CUT other tax/fee revenues that are being charged to GA residents!.

You know, when Pezold says he's against people paying GA/local sales taxes on Internet sales, because it would bring in $500,000.00 in revenue, what he's really saying is that Georgians are buying $12,500,000.00 worth of merchandise from businesses operating on the internet rather than spending that money within the state where all Georgians would benefit.

---
Oh! How about that Snoop Dogg video where he "shoots" an effigy of President Trump? Imagine mainscream media outrage and DOJ investigations if the same were done with an Obama effigy?.. Well, imagine mainscream media outrage and DOJ investigations if the same was done by an NRA official to an Obama effigy?

---
L-E headline: "Study: Columbus among least ‘Happiest Places to Live’ in America" -- Personally, I love Columbus.. but that's because I have lived here all my life, and KNOWt Columbus is capable of if we get "concerned-for-the present & future" leadership.. but, what do you expect from a city that builds bike trails when our roads are disasterous, our Republican politicians are poster children for Democrats, our voters chose "lying Hellary" by 58%, our mayor spends $244,000.00 on an outdoor bathroom, our schools are below the state averages, and the state is in the bottom 40 percentile of the other states, and we have programs at the jail that cut criminals loose early... Oh, and add the sentiments of another L-E reader: "We have a new pool that is opened sometimes. When it it is closed you can swim in the potholes and dips in the roads. We have the Riverwalk where if you do not get accosted by a homeless person up on the Middle north part you are lucky.I have a creek by my house the city quit maintaining a few years back that is now ready to collapse on itself. When it rains it is a major tributary. They come out and look and say it is too big of a job to fix now. I do not know why we are so low.

---
Online headline: "Janet Yellen just made an unsettling admission about the economy * The Fed chair just killed that kind of confidence for any move going forward. Yellen was talking about the lack of economic progress since the Fed's last meeting in January. She went further though, saying that the Fed doesn't see any evidence that the optimism of a record-breaking stock market has made its way into spending by companies or people." -- "the Fed chair... doesn't see any evidence that the optimism"? Good grief.. she's an Obama appointee!.. and she cannot... more like "will not" see past her nose! Looks like it's "retirement time" for her.

---
Online headline: "Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” has been pulled from release in Malaysia, even though the country’s official censors approved the release after cutting a well-publicized “gay moment” from the film." -- Hmmm.. WikiPedia states: "The constitution makes Malaysia a secular country and guarantees freedom of religion, while establishing Islam as the "religion of the Federation" to symbolise its importance to Malaysian society. The king is generally seen as the defender of the faith in the country and members of the royal family may lose certain privileges if they leave Islam and convert to another religion."  Hmmm, and I wonder what Disney is doing in Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Iran and Syria..the  countries now under Trump's "entry ban"?

---
L-E story: "Soccer is the most played team sport but the national sport consists of Gaelic football and hurling." -- Know about soccer, not too sure what "Gaelic football" is, but I imagine the "hurling" is the National pastime before the Irish go to bed on March 17th.. (boo hiss to those offended.. my family surname, Kirven, actually translates to "Black Irish".. Top o' the morning to ya!

---
While it will not overtake the "soundoff" by the guy that wants "2 Falcons, 2 Braves, and 2 Bulldogs as pallbearers so they can let him down one more time", this "soundoff" is definitely in contention for 2nd Place in the all-time L-E "soundoffs" records: "Nancy Pelosi said: "We have to pass it to find out what’s in it." A physician said: "In my business, that's the definition of a stool sample." That pretty much sums it up."

---
L-E headline/story: "Man shot during ‘Tickle Me Tuesday’ sues After 5 Sports Bar & Grill * J**** H****** of Columbus was dancing after the Jan. 24 comedy act at “Tickle Me Tuesday” when he heard a lot pop around 11:30 p.m. He said he immediately felt a pain in his leg, but he didn’t know it was a gunshot wound until later that night. * H****** drove home to his wife and showed her the wound. She told him it was a bullet wound, and he had his father drive him to Midtown Medical Center for treatment." -- Drove home to his wife after being at a bar dancing at 11:30? I think I might have to probe more into his claims of where he was when he felt the pain in his leg.

---
Glad to see Randy Robertson step up and enter the race to replace.. well follow Josh McKoon.. Josh will be hard to "replace", but I sure support Randy in his quest!

---

We should thank Richard Hyatt for shining the light on the MCSD's handing.. uh.. MISHANDING.. of the incident that ultimately cost a young man his leg.  What we don't need is for the taxpayers to be penalized by being sued for the misconduct of many individual MCSD employees/contractors. Hope the legal team asks the courts to dismiss us taxpayers from the list of defendants, so any jury findings will hurt the people who made such horrible decisions during and following the incident. Let taxpayer contributions go into the classrooms, not the pockets of lawyers.
