Wonder what Las Vegas's opening  odds are on James Comey's last day as a government employee? His denial may mean he was knowledgeable of surveillance activities..

BTW, Comey's assertion has been backed up by former Obama White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest.. that's sorta like having Jon Lovitz as your alibi witness.

Online headline/story: "Trump reportedly went 'ballistic' over Sessions recusal amid Russia firestorm *  Sessions held a press conference the previous day to announce his recusal, acquiescing to growing, bipartisan calls to do so * Sessions said he had not met with Russian operatives to discuss Trump's campaign, -- "bipartisan calls to do so"? Good grief.. since when have McCain and Graham regained Republican status? On the other hand, Sessions could get back in Trump's....and America's 'good graces" ... by putting all his effort into Hellary/Bill and Loretta Lynch.

Online headline/story: ""Pro-Trump march turns violent at Berkeley * The Berkeley event was organized partly in response to a February episode on the famously liberal campus, in which anti-fascist protests against conservative firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos turned violent. *  while the event was billed as a march for the 45th president, organizer Richard Black, a self-described libertarian, said it was also march for freedom of speech and to send a message that the mayhem that broke out in Berkeley on February 1 will not be tolerated. " -- Once again.. organized, black-clad, masked anti-Trump turned violent.. .. once again, CA police stood by.. obviously retrained by local law enforcement policy.

Whoa! Now it comes to light that Obama ordered a "wire/telephone tap"
on Trump/Trump Towers days before the election..Can you imagine the headlines if Bush had ordered a wire tap on Obama ahead of the 2008 election?

---
Now we learn that a Muslim from India who was denied entry got an intervene from Senator UpChuck Schumer AND Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and got into New York for some "World Snowshoe Championships", has been arrested for sexual assault on a 13-ish year old girl. * On Feb. 25, Schumer celebrated Hussain’s “rock star” welcome in a Facebook post, saying that the United States is “Still a country that welcome athletes from across the globe to compete in our stadiums, our snow-covered fields and everywhere in between.” A spokesman for Schumer said the senator had helped with the visa process at the request of Saranac Lake and described the charges against Hussain as “extremely troubling.” * Gillibrand did not respond to a request for comment."  --Of course, this just cements why SChumer wants Sessions out as Attorney General.. Sessions wouldn't back down like Lynch and Hoilder prosecuting Democrats.

---
Whatta (_*_)! We knew Schumer was an idiot, but for a sitting Senator , especially the Senate Minority leader, to be at a street protest screaming "Dump Trump" is absolutely classless and he should be censured on the grounds of stupidity as well as "an activity unbefitting a Senator"!

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Obamas solidify book deals, reportedly planning political comeback" -- "political comeback"? Good grief.. history may forget the Obamas existed once Trump has corrected America's path forward.

---
Have you seen/heard the TV ad for Rexulti.. some sorta secondary dose to enhance the anti-depressant you are hooked on already? The ad states "don't give up on the progress you may have made with your anti-depressant" -- Good grief.. if your anti-depressant was making progress, why would you be looking for an "enhancer"?

---
On Saturday, at the WGC golf tournament in Mexico City, the network played a slo-mo replay of a tee shot that Dustin Johnson "toed". The driver head recoiled back nearly 90 degrees at impact, and I really have no idea why it didn't come off the shaft or shatter the shaft.

L-E headline: "Is the death penalty sentence dying?" -- You know, if the crime fits the limited scope defined as "capital crimes" where the death sentence may be/should be sought and achieved, then it should be prosecuted as such.. with one exception.. the defendant admit guilt in exchange for a life without parole and with no future appeals, and all expenses involving prosecution be avoided. On the other hand, should same defendant go to trial and the jury finds him/her "guilty", the death sentence be automatic and served out with 12 months of conviction... period.

L-E story: "Legislation seeking to force ride-hailing companies including Uber and Lyft to collect sales taxes failed to pass the House. * Rep. Jay Powell, R-Camilla, said the companies aren’t paying sales taxes as limousine services and taxi companies do. The House voted the bill down, 88 no votes to 82 voting yes." --

Wait a minute..  a previous story in the Atlanta Business Chronicle says just the opposite - "Ride-sharing services would be required to collect sales taxes from passengers under legislation that cleared the Georgia House of Representatives Friday night. * The bill, which passed 106-60 and now moves to the state Senate, would settle an issue left unresolved three years ago when the General Assembly passed comprehensive legislation setting ground rules for companies including Uber and Lyft to operate in Georgia." Apparently, the bill was sent back to committee then back to the floor in the same afternoon with a reverse vote.. who got to who to make such a drastic reversal?

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2017/03/03/georgia-house-votes-to-collect-sales-taxes-from.html

You know, if GA Legislators favor Uber & Lyft over taxi and limousine services, then no court should support taxpayers from being liable to pay sales taxes for any transportation services.. Airlines and buses are listening!

---
L-E headline: "Trump wants $54B more for defense, but military unsure why" -- First, will the mainscream media NAME the military personnel they claim are "unsure why"... secondly, raising the military budget by $54 BILLION from Obama's last military budget still brings the budget in $20 BILLION under the 8 year average military budget under Obama. Obama's last 3 military budgets put our nation's safety and preparedness in serious jeopardy!

---
L-E headline: "Democrats’ 2018 plan: More bluster, but same policies" -- And this is suppose to make Democrats more popular?

---
L-E guest opinion headline: "People reminded that facts really do matter * BY LEONARD PITTS * Miami Herald" -- Good grief.. Pitts is definitely the pits..Trump convinced voters that "facts" matter.. but Trumps "facts" are real and supportable..  versus mainscream media definition.

---
It's a shame the GA Girls Championship game cannot be played in Columbus.. a sg=hame because it pits Carver versus Columbus.. Congratulations to both teams! Of course, my heart is pulling for Columbus High..(Class of '65).

---
There was a lot of chatter online yesterday about whether Uber and Lyft should be exempt from collecting GA & local sales taxes (no one but consumers PAY sales taxes) even though taxis and limos do have to charge/collect sales taxes from their fares. Now, let's look at a worse comparison...food...we and restaurants purchase "food" void of state sales taxes, yet restaurants have to charge and collect sales taxes on that food when we eat it.

---
Those "protesters" that showed up at March 4 Trump rallies... since when is a person  who shows up wearing a mask and holding a baseball bat considered a "protester" instead of an armed street thug?

---
From mainscream media's "how can we make this sound like it's Trump's fault" department - Online headline: "Here's how 1 million taxpayers might lose out on $1 billion in refunds" -- When you haven't filed a tax return for 3 years, and you should have gotten a refund on such returns, you forfeit rights to that refund and your refund goes into the U.S Treasury. It's an existing law, and this year only effects tax return due for Tax Years 2013 and older.

---
From the mainscream media's " let's blame Trump's Executive Order on this" department - Online headline/story: "Filing: Afghan family with US visas detained at Los Angeles airport *  The father, mother and three small children were granted Special Immigrant Visas because family members risked their lives to defend the U.S. government overseas, said the filing from lawyers with the International Refugee Assistance Project, a legal aid group for refugees and displaced persons. *  "Yet despite this record of service on behalf of our country, CBP has detained this brave family and denied them access to counsel," said the petition filed on Saturday with the U.S. District Court Central District of California, referring to Customs and Border Protection." -- And in the very last paragraph, the "reporter" casually mentions that Afghanistan is not on the list  7 countries in the original order which was neutered, wrongly,  by the judicial system. In other words, there was at least one other procedural issue that caused the Customs and Border Protection department.

L-E "soundoff": "I would not call Hal Kirven a “political agitator” as your columnist did. I would call him a political activist." -- Thanks for the support, but I would just as soon the "soundoffer" opine on Chuck William's diminished status as a "journalist" ..
