Someone in the Synovus accounting department must not have gotten the memo...either that or last weeks story about CB&T changing it's name NEXT year..We got a checking account statement Friday with Synovus in the return address corner and not one mention of CB&T.. neither outside nor on the statement itself.

From the "update" department - Online headline: "HILLARY'S EMAIL SCANDAL NOT OVER YET *
Lawsuit filed after feds refuse to do routine evaluation of harm from 'extremely careless' handling" -- Hmm.. Even those disaster repair companies can't promise "Like it didn't happen".

---
You know, all the negative polls about Trump could be shot down simply by asking if any Trump voter would change their vote now and give it to Hellary.

---
You know, no one should be asked for their opinion in a poll if they cannot be confirmed as having ACTUALLY voted in the latest election.

---
Democrat voters should be in mortal fear...Maxine Waters celebrated OObamaCRAP being upheld.

---
The Freedom Caucus is the poster child for Walt Kelly's famous ,"Pogo" utterance..."we have met the enemy, and it is us."..the Freedom Caucus read the OObamaCRAP bill then joined every Democrat in upholding it.

---
From the "whatta grandstand effort in futility" department - Online headline/story: "Democrats introduce 'MAR-A-LAGO' Act to force Trump to provide visitor logs * Democrats are giving Donald Trump a transparency gut check in the form of a new bill with a mouthful of a name — and an acronym that takes an unsubtle dig at the president. * The "Making Access Records Available to Lead American Government Openness Act" — or MAR-A-LAGO Act — would require the Trump administration to disclose the names of anyone who visits the White House or "any other location at which the President or the Vice President regularly conducts official business." -- Good grief.. Mainscream media doesn't even know it is being used by the Democrats as its Monica Lewinsky! First, no Democrat sponsored bill is likely to even make it to the House floor for a vote. Secondly, even if such a bill passed, even veto-proof, Trump wouldn't sign such, and 3rd,  if the House and Senate did override a veto, the Supreme Court  would never uphold it as it will be a bill that singles out one president.

---
From the "Alfred E. Neuman Media Club... What, me biased?" department - Online headline/story: "Pro-Trump MAGA rally erupts into violent clash with counter protesters in California *  The violence erupted, according to the Los Angeles Times, when an anti-Trump protester fired pepper spray at the organizer of the event. Afterward, the black mask-clad protester was set upon by the pro-Trump crowd." -- afterward, the black mask-clad protester was set upon"? .. Hmmm.. first, when a group in uniforms and masks armed with any kind of weapon shows up at a "permitted" event, the police should immediately consider them street thugs,, they are no better that the masked Klan of olden days.. secondly, when someone has initiated a violent attack with a weapon such as pepper spray, and someone responds, it is an act of self-defense, not an act of being "set upon".

Why are cities.. especially "big cities" in the US given huge amounts of tax money each year? New York City gets over $700 MILLION.. Chicago/Cook County gets over $525 MILLION. LA gets over $466 MILLION, Miami gets over $355 MILLION, and Philadelphia gets $200 MILLION... ANNUALLY .. with annual "raises"! It's pure vote buying as when have any of these cities ever voted for a Republican president.. or mayor for that matter?

---
Working Americans are being screwed.. I saw a person buy a pair of shoes using her EBT card at Targets yesterday!

---
From the "did you know" department" Did you know that wearing a mask in public is a felony in the state of Virginia that can result in a year in jail? Maybe Trump rallies should be held in Virginia (and other states that have a similar law) so the police will arrest the masked anti-American, pro-Hellary protesters before they attack Trump supporters.

In Tempe, AR, a self-driving Uber vehicle had an accident when another car wrongly made a left turn across its path. The Uber car rolled over on its side. The Uber car was a Volvo.. Bet Volvo is PO'd.

---
L-E headline/story: "Rock Island Ridges shows off its assets * An upscale apartment community overlooking the Chattahoochee River in Phenix City is moving toward completion   *  Rock Island Ridges at Riverchase, a 346-unit property owned by Phenix City real-estate developer Mike Bowden and managed by Columbus-based Flournoy Companies, is shooting for the middle of July to have everything finished in all five main structure" -- Saw this driving across the J.R Allen Parkway Bridge into Phenix City a coupke of weeks ago and wondered what it was.. Well, now we know.. it's a culmination of all the Columbus tax dollars spent building the RiverWalk and Whitewater course.. only Columbus want be benefiting from any property tax additions. I'll say this. my friend Mike Bowden has built a great new complex and is smart enough to recognize how to utilize the system for his best benefits.  Pretty smart..sorta Trumpish..

Ultra LIV's L-E "soundoff": "To those who are so vehemently opposed to democratic socialism: Ask yourself why Denmark rated themselves number one again in the “Happiest Nation” Index. The U.S. dropped from thirteenth to fourteenth place." -- Well.. move there.. enjoy your bicycles as gas is $9.69 a gallon, and a Toyota Corolla costs $27,000.00, and your 1 bedroom city apartment costs $1,050.00 to rent or $408.00 a square ft to buy.

---
Really stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Do Republican lawmakers really think we’re so stupid we don’t know the difference between “accessible” and “affordable” health insurance?" -- YES! And until you stop getting tax credits and supplements, you will never know!

---
L-E headline: "Public Safety Center to close on weekends" -- Good grief.. closing the entire center from public access  instead of either pulling a couple of uniformed workers from the 911 Call Center (which would give some better response times). or taking a couple of motorcycle officers and putting them in a 4-door vehicle makes no sense to the public.

---
You know, in an effort to promote athletics as well as state and alumni pride, the NCAA should adopt scholarship rules that scholarships, whether athletic or academic, could only be given to bona fide residents completing 6 years (or more) of in-state schooling of the state the university/college is in.

---
I couldn't believe it, but I actually watched a basketball game between South Carolina and Florida. Other against UGA or Mississippi State, I wouldn't have watched Florida play South Carolina in football unless it was the Finals of the BCS.

---
Online story: "A Florida woman is being told to take down her Blue Lives Matter flag that's been flying for several years now by her homeowners association. * Jeff Gaddie told Action News Jacksonville that his daughter in St. Johns County has been flying the flag to honor him and many other family members who are law enforcement. * "She called to ask why," Gaddie said. "They told her they had received a complaint that it was considered racist, offensive and anti-Black Lives Matter,” he said." -- "racist, and offensive"? "Blue Lives Matter" encapsules men and women of EVERY color, creed and gender.. Let's face it .. only flags/signs/T-shirts with words saying only one color of life matters is the REAL Racist and Offensive comment.

---
Hmm.. if Georgia "legalizes" marijuana, will it be banned to smoke it in Columbus, GA because of the new "no public smoking" law the City Council is pushing?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: " Melania Trump responds to her and Donald Trump's 'separate bed' reports" -- You know.. HuffPOOPOO should have been more concerned about which women Bill Clinton ALLOWED in his bed and Oval Office  rather than running fake news about the Trumps.

---
Online headline: "City's battle against potholes has strange allies * Deciding to take matters in their own hands, a group of vigilantes have taken to the street to fix potholes" -- Ooooops my bad.. had hopes a new group had organized in revolt in Columbus, GA to fix streets for cars while Mayor Tom-LYING-son diverts tax dollars o pave  new bicycle paths.. then I realized.. she ordered the Police Headquarters shut on weekends so she could put 2 more officers on the streets, and they might arrest pothole fixing vigilantes.

---
L-E story: "A (GA) Senate committee approved a bill that will eliminate sales taxes on taxi and limousine rides. The proposal was initially designed to increase tax collection from ride-hailing services Uber and Lyft, but senators instead opted to eliminate all taxes on transportation services." -- "senators instead opted to eliminate ALL taxes on transportation services"? What about the sales taxes on gasoline.. those amount to about 35-cents a gallon here in Columbus.

---
From above story: "The new version also would legalize daily fantasy sports, including the well-known DraftKings or Fan-Duel sites, and give a tax break to people paying for repairs on large boats." -- Good grief.. legalized online gambling, and can you get this.. a tax break for people who own yachts et al?

---
L-E story: "I spoke with Pat Biegler, director of public works, which includes the urban forestry division, which handles such stuff. Biegler said her department handles most all of the city’s tree work, save for rare instances when a job is too big for city equipment." -- "too big for city equipment"? Good grief.. the city owns it's own stump grinder, a host of "claw" limb picker-uppers, and a 100' reach "cherry-picker truck.. what does Bigler consider "too big"?

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " A poll by Germany's ARD media group found that the percentage of Germans who think the U.S. Is a “trustworthy ally” dropped from 59% in November to 22% last month." -- First. this sounds like something unsubstantiated that a lib will pull out of the air and post as "fact", but if true, it basically mimics a childhood tantrum when parents cut-off a poor behaving child's allowance.

---
Posted daily by the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer: "The Ledger-Enquirer strives to be accurate, fair and complete in its coverage and corrects significant errors of fact." -- I can count 4 significant promises that the L-E doesn't keep.. anyone disagree?

---

L-E headline: "School board plans vote on alternative ed contractor" -- Just curious, but haven't there been enough questions raised about Camelot for the board to want more info before hiring them? And, once again, why are K-4th grade children being incarcerated in a discipline facility? Why aren't they just sent home to their parents ?
