Online headline/story: "Russians compromised election systems in seven states: NBC News * NBC, citing unnamed U.S. officials, said that top-secret intelligence requested by President Barack Obama in his last weeks in office synthesized months of work and made the conclusions. * All of the state and federal officials agreed that no votes were changed and no voters were removed from voter roles as a result of the activity by Russian operatives, NBC News reported." -- "no votes changed.. no voters were removed"? Good grief..if Obama is the source of confirmation... blah, blah, blah, blah..
---
Other than "for bias sake", anyone know of another reason that the Columbus L-E ran a front page story of a political newcomer who's never won a local election entering a Congressional race?
---
From the "joke of the day" department - Online headline: "MSNBC Host: Handgun Bullets Are Ineffective In Stopping School Shooters Because They're Too Slow" -- Hmmm...I think we have a case of misdirection here.. actually.. it's more of a case of an PMSNBC anchor being "too slow" to get a job on a real news show.. Maybe someone should send him a story about the two handgun armed Capitol Police officers who took down the rifle armed Bernie supporter who open fired on the Republicans practicing for the Congressional baseball game..
---
From the "turnabout is fair play" department -Online story: "Police say it all began when someone with a knife attacked another person during an argument. * Neighbor Dave Thomas, who witnessed the attack, went into his home, got his rifle and ordered the suspect to stop. * "I poked my head out the door. There was a pool of blood, blood was everywhere in the hall. There was still a confrontation going on, there were about three or four people involved at this point," Thomas said. "So I ran back into my house and grabbed my AR-15. I grabbed the AR-15 over my handgun -- bigger gun, I think a little more of an intimidation factor. Definitely played a part in him actually stopping." -- Hmmm.. a good man with a gun.. and without a shot fired... stopped a cowardly bad man with a weapon.. a lesson all school administrators should digest..
---
From the "thank God.. and patriotic citizens.. that we have term limits for the presidency" department - Online headline: "Obama calls out Facebook and Google, questions survival of democracy in current political climate" -- Good grief.. the US is not a Democracy... and we thank our founding fathers for their foresight and vision we are not...our government is a limited republic... meaning that just because there is a majority of scavengers, scavengers cannot declare what the daily menu for supper will be the providers.
---
From the "Making America Great Again" department - Online headline/story: "Supreme Court curbs rights of immigrants awaiting deportation * The justices, in a 5-3 decision, overturned a lower court's ruling that required that immigrants held by the U.S. government who are awaiting the outcome of deportation proceedings get a bond hearing after six months of detention to seek their release." -- Yes! Sanity returns!

HuffPOOPOO story: "Levi Sanders, the son of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), announced on Monday that he’s running for Congress in New Hampshire. * The 48-year-old candidate is the eighth Democrat throwing his hat in the ring for the state’s 1st District House seat, Sanders said in a statement posted to his campaign website. * “After much thought and consultation with my family, friends and the people of New Hampshire, I am excited to announce today that I am running for Congress,” he said. “This is a unique opportunity to listen to the hard-working men and women of New Hampshire about the issues that matter to them.” _- Good grief.. Vermont.. obviously... is not big enough for the two of them, so Bernie's son is running for Congress in New Hampshire. What gets me is the lack of leadership that's been passed down.. Levi says, "“This is a unique opportunity to listen to the hard-working men and women of New Hampshire about the issues that matter to them.” Leaders RECOGNIZE what people.. the country need, and ask voters to elect them based on their desire to implement those ideas..
---
You know...it's almost..no, it's definitely hypocritical, for politicians who advocate for a Christian free atmosphere in government, to clamor to be seen in the presence of Billy Graham's casket.
---
What is the message the DIMocrats are bringing to the 2018 midterm elections? Eight DIMocrats are challenging Pelosi..so far.... and all are further left than she is; Feinstein cannot get the endorsement of California DIMocrats , and a Texas DIMocrat hopeful is so far to the left, the DIMocrats have already put together and distributed a " hit package" of information to discredit
---
Online story: "Democrat Bobby Kaple unveiled several high-profile endorsements Tuesday as he tried to consolidate his party’s support for his bid for Georgia’s 6th District. Former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland, ex-U.S. Rep. Buddy Darden, Senate Minority Leader Steve Henson and state Sen. Elena Parent were among the politicians who backed Kaple days after Jon Ossoff announced he wouldn’t make a comeback bid.. -- hmmm.. samo-samo.. Ossoff wants no more do with GA District 6 after losing despite $30-plus MILLION been spent during the special election with the same endorsements.

Director of Strategic Information...for the Hellary campaign. FOX news had a DIMocrat spinmeister who had this title in her intro.. Doesn't the fact that Pennsylvania, Michigan et al were not in the sight of the Hellary strategy show the Director of such was pretty much incompetent?
---
Hmmm...Delta has an offer to move its HQ from Atlanta to NY because GA is not going to exempt Delta from GA sales taxes on jet fuel...Is Delta that dumb to believe threatening to move to the second highest taxed state is a bargaining chip in GA?
---
Online headline/story: "Trump's removal from office sole focus of college course * San Diego State University is offering a one-unit course in March called “Trump: Impeachment, Removal or Conviction?” taught by Professor John Joseph Cleary. * “Focus will be on the two constitutional grounds: impeachment and removal (25th Amendment), and the possible charges of the independent counsel,” the course description reads in part, as first reported by university watchdog group, Campus Reform. * The class will cover “grounds for impeachment, removal, or indictment” such as “conflict of interests, foreign emoluments, climate change, racism, religious bias, improper influence, nepotism, and a host of crimes, including conspiracy, false statements, and obstruction of justice.” -- If this is an "Institution o Higher Learning", it's only because professors must get paid in marijuana.. Surely, the FBI is securing all class enrollment info and adding the names of the professor and all students to the "Domestic Terrorists Watch List"
---
From the "melted ear wax" department - Former President Obama just proclaimed his administration was "scandal free". This claim, alone, is a scandal in itself.
---
L-E "headlie": "GENERAL ASSEMBLY *Film industry insider: Ga. will lose business if anti-gay bill passes" -- Number 1. there is no "anti-gay" legislative bill pending.. it's a
"best interest of children" bill. Number 2, who made Leonard the spokesperson for the gay or movie industry? Number 3, was Leonard proud of Pezold trying to take away local homeowners' tax protection that would hurt families trying to provide for their children?
---
L-E headline: "Kusher (Sic), others lose access to most sensitive secrets" -- Good grief.. like Kushner (hey L-E proof editor.. it's spelled this way) was even involved in top secret level discussions.. Kushner's primary purpose is to mediate peace talks between Israel and Palestine..
---
L-E story: "Gators fans tossed dollar bills at the (Auburn) Tigers at the end of Florida’s 72-66 win with the chant of “FBI” being audible in the O’Connell Center. Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl made sure the money would not cause issues going forward. * The FBI chant from Gators fans referred to former Auburn assistant Chuck Person, who was implicated in the FBI’s college basketball investigation. Person was suspended by Auburn in September and terminated on Nov. 7." -- "FBI, FBI, FBI!" Don't you love college sports? This qualifies on the level of Duke Students originating the "air ball" chant when an opposing player's shot misses the goal completely..
---
L-E headline: "Companies under pressure to pick sides on NRA" -- No, they are not.. the choice is whether a company aligns itself with the US Constitution or not..Name me one NRA official who's ever shot up a school.. name me one NRA official who supports illegal use/possession of any weapon... name me one NRA official who advocates violence..
---
L-E headline: "Mountains of trash left behind by hurricanes inflame debate" -- Ooops.. when I hear about trash still being in the US Virgin Islands, I remember that Jeffrey Epstein has his perversion compound there that appeals so much to Bill Clinton.

From the " it's for the kids.... NOT!" department - Online headline/story: "West Virginia educators go on strike, closing all public schools in the state * Teachers in West Virginia are striking for the third consecutive day, closing public schools in all of the state’s 55 counties over low pay and benefits. * West Virginia teachers rank 48th in teacher pay, with an average annual salary of $45,622 in 2016, according to a report by the National Education Association. That average salary fell 0.4% from 2015" -- It's nice... NOT!... "they" use the 2015/2016 figures.. when the Obama administration had all but completely shut down coal production in WV, but choose to flex the union/DIMocratic Party partnership "muscle" (the one between their ears) going into 2018's midterm elections, and before new figures come in showing the WV economic rebirth following Trump's override of Obama's policies.
---
Online headline: "Florida deputy defends not running in to Parkland during shooting" -- Good grief..it was a travesty when the (_*@_) got into the school and started shooting; it worsened when the deputy responded in the manner he did, but it becomes an ABSOLUTE injustice now that a lawyer has spoken up in DEFENSE of that deputy!
---
Online headline/story: "Georgia lawmaker threatens to kill Delta state tax breaks over NRA stance * The Georgia legislature is considering a proposed jet fuel tax exemption designed to benefit Delta, but as of Monday, several state Republicans have threatened to withdraw their support for the provision" -- Wait a minute... why is the GA Legislator even considering a sales tax exemption for Delta at all since the new corporate TAX CUTS have gone into effect? I've heard the figure of $40,000,000.00 tossed about as what Delta's sales tax exemption on fuel would be... and that would be on top of the already-in-place 40% tax cut on fed income taxes this year. The question of "How did you vote on this issue?" should be the number one question asked of every incumbent running for re-election to the GA Legislature this year!
---
Just realized it..the Olympics are over. Musta slept through most if it.
---
Online headline: "Kasich suggests two-party system could be coming to an end" -- Good grief.. guess Kasich now understands Republicans consider him, at best, a RINO, and DIMocrats, whom he emulates, won't recognize his presence, either. so Kasich "finks" ( a new word for the lala-land between "feeling and thinking") he's a political revolution ... what he is ... is "finished" politically.
---
From the "has taken one-too-many beanballs" department - Online headline: "Gun-owner Chipper Jones against civilians having assault weapons" -- Hey, Chipper, unless you have a special federal permit, IT IS against the law for civilians to own assault weapons! From another perspective, our forefathers knew protecting the rights of citizens to bear arms was necessary to keep the freedoms they fought so hard to establish. Our forefathers did not include the right to bear arms for hunting or recreational use.. they included this warning:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State", and every American citizen has a right.. a charge... to protect his family and his country from all enemies, domestic or foreign.
---
From the "What difference does it make" department - Online headline/story: "'Botched' execution was 'torture' that may have punctured Alabama inmate's bladder, lawyer says * Prison officials announced about 11:30 p.m. Thursday they had to halt the execution because medical staff did not think they could obtain "the appropriate venous access" before a midnight deadline. The announcement came about 2 and a half hours after the U.S. Supreme Court cleared the execution to proceed." -- Good grief.. the taxpayers of Alabama have paid to keep this murderer alive.. through appeals and even lymphoma.. for a crime he committed 30 years ago.. certainly, the victim's family and the citizens of Alabama have suffered a lot more torture than the felon.. just bring back the firing squad!
---
Online headline/story: "Ivanka Trump scolds NBC News for ‘inappropriate’ question about her father’s sex misconduct accusers * The first daughter sat down with Alexander who, after a voice-over explaining that President Trump has denied accusations of sexual misconduct, asked, “Do you believe your father’s accusers?” * “I think it’s a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he’s affirmatively stated that there’s no truth to it. I don’t think that’s a question you would ask many other daughters,” Ivanka fired back. “I believe my father, I know my father.” -- Hmmm..wonder if he's lined up Chelsea Clinton Mezvinsky to answer the same question?
---
Online headline/story: "Several Broward deputies waited outside during Florida school shooting, report says * Coral Springs cops who responded to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School say several Broward sheriff’s deputies waited outside rather than rush in as the killer was gunning down students, the Sun-Sentinel reports." --- Hmmm...I guess that once the backup officers arrived, they waited for their backups before not proceeding...
---
Was watching parts of the Trump/Governors meeting yesterday.. Is Florida's Rick Scott pulling a Charlie Crist party/gender revision? I watched him stammer yesterday and wondered where the real governor of Florida was.
---
Trump loves to use the fact that Apple is bringing back billions in overseas money, and has initiated a$350 BILLION dollar improvement and expansion program in AMERICA over the next few years. And you know what... Apple is not grumbling about Trump's accolades... because Apple KNOWS this opportunity is a Trump contribution to Make America Great Again. On the other hand, I remember when Brucie Springsteen pitched a hissy-fit at a song of his being used by a Republican.
---
The mayor of Oakland says her city doesn't have to cooperate with the federal government. ... Hmmmm...yet she'll squeal like a stuck pig if the federal government doesn't send more money.
---
From the "just wrong.. and I'll tell you why" department - Online story: "The Supreme Court on Monday rejected an appeal from the Trump administration to decide the legality of the president’s plans to end the Obama-era DACA program affecting young illegal immigrants next month." -- Just wrong... The US Supreme Court shares the triangle of power with the Legislative and Executive Branches, and when a lower court rules against either, especially against the President, then the US Supreme Court should immediately address such issues...
---
I'm actually for denying mentally ill people from buying/owning guns. Where to start isn't so hard, either...just turn over all the voter registration lists to the FBI, and mark all the voters registered as DIMocrats " mentally ill".
---
From the " incredulous" department... I heard a DIMocrat spinmeister on Fox state that he feels all our ills would be better if we "just got money out of politics". Good grief...this is the same party that brought in over $30,000,000.00 of out of District/state money to influence the voters in GA District 6 last year.
---
You know.. if all the money WAS taken out of politics, mainscream media would be shedding it's liberal bias.. without the political cash flow, media would have to ATTRACT viewers and advertisers based on the public's perception of how popular they are reaching working America's attention... and wallets.
---
Online headline/story: "‘National disgrace’: Community fights back as California overrun by homelessness, human waste, needles * The specter of homeless encampments steadily expanding across the downtown streets of San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco – bringing with them a public health crisis – has one southern California community taking tough action to dismantle a two-mile-long camp just a short drive from Disneyland. * “It’s becoming part of the permanent landscape in those communities and there is no way we are going to allow Orange County land that is supposed to be used by residents to be occupied by the homeless,” said Todd Spitzer, who sits on the Orange County Board of Supervisors." -- Hmmm... Orange County.. subject of a uber-liberal television series of societal destruction, and home of Rush Limbaugh's favorite liberal commune, Yorba Linda among other liberal confines, and San Francisco.. home of the conjoined twins, Pelosi-Feinstein, are overwhelmed with the plight of the homeless who have flocked to those areas based on the programs liberal advertise as better alternatives than working to provide for their families.. This is what the Republicans should show in their anti-DIMocrat ads..
---
You know...it's amazing that the liberal plea about gun control is focused on "not letting the mentally ill to buy guns". DOH! Good grief...it's the liberal concern about being politically correct that blocks reporting mentally troubled students actions from being reported do background searches! (_@_) is not the first such example.. nor the last if liberals don't stop drinking Kool-Aid.
---
Have you seen the Green Mountain Coffee ad for its "Sumatran" coffee? The grower and his goats are highlighted. .. how about that... actual truth in advertising... other than not also mentioning the Civet, Google Sumatran coffee, and you'll see why Sumatran coffee is described as having such an "earthy" flavor.
---
Online story: "Democrat Jon Ossoff said Friday he won’t make another bid for Georgia’s 6th District this year, leaving it up to lesser-known contenders to challenge Republican U.S. Rep. Karen Handel in the north Atlanta district." -- I guess not... who, even among DIMocrats will forget they ponied up over $30,000,000.00 for him in a Special election, and he got beat by a larger margin than anyone anticipated..

---
In a nutshell.. as Robert Frost so poignantly.. and succinctly.. wrote.. "good fences make good neighbors".. BUILD the WALL!
---
You know, when states declare they are not going to enforce... nor help the federal government to enforce federal laws.. such as national immigration and drug laws, those states should have the voting power of their Congressional representatives revoked until such time as their sanity returns.
---
L-E headline/story: "Hagan, former Miss America, seeks to shake up Congress * Mallory Hagan knows what it’s like to be a long-shot winner. * In January, she resigned her job as a news anchor at WLTZ, the Columbus NBC affiliate, and announced she would run for Congress in a right-leaning 13-county east Alabama district * After graduating from Opelika High School in 2007 and enrolling in Auburn University, she moved to New York City, where she became Miss Brooklyn and then Miss New York. Then on a magical January 2013 night in Las Vegas, the Alabama woman wearing the sash of Miss New York became Miss America." -- Since I have not even known she was an anchor on a low rated local TV news program.. she obviously has not attracted much of a following.. wonder how fast Mike Rogers' campaign staff will have pictures up of of her wearing Miss Brooklyn or Miss New York sashes?
---
L-E headline: "MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BOULEVARD REVITALIZATION * $3.1 million makeover could help boost neighborhood’s reputation" -- "could help"? For $3.1 Million, there should be a GUARANTEE! To point out how shortsighted our Council/Mayor is. ll polishing up of MLK Blvd will initially do is highlight the blight EVEN MORE.. Then, if the embarrassment is addressed, housing costs and property taxes will rise running off the neighbors who have long populated the area..Columbus would be a lot better off using tax dollars to improve all the streets throughout the City.

In the meantime, streets that are dragging down existing property values will continue to do so at the expense of property revenues.
---
L-E headline: "Man faces new charges in shooting that left 1 dead" -- Good grief.. following the jury acquitting a masked and armed man of hijacking and kidnapping based on his plea that he got behind the wheel and drove only because she jumped out of her car, this murderer has just a valid chance of acquittal if he just says that "if the man hadn't been standing where he was, he wouldn't have been in the way of the bullet".

Monday, February 26, 2018

A couple of teachers are wanting to start an anti-gun movement in schools called "# arm me with the truth".. I can live with hat, but I'd like to see a student movement named "#teach me the truth".
---
A Facebook posting asks the question: Can you "give a reason to own an assault weapon?" -- As a law abiding, American citizen with ancestors who fought for our country's freedom, they made sure I'd be able to bear arms and protect my family from enemies, both foreign and domestic as well, and at no other time in history does America have so many enemies, both foreign AND domestic.
---
Online headline: "Ted Cruz losing 2018 fundraising race to likely Democratic challenger, filings show" -- Hmmm.. so DIMocrats can get outside of Texas donors to fund a candidate against Ted Cruz... now we have to be watchful of DIMocrats recruiting voters from outside Texas... outside America, even......
---
From the "herein lies the problem" department - Online headline/story: "Payments to top college basketball players listed in FBI documents: report * "This problem can be solved if players are compensated. The NCAA is not capable of adequately policing tens of thousands of athletes around the country."- Don Jackson, attorney who has worked on numerous college eligibility cases" -- Teenagers are teenagers, and can be swept into pleasures that suit their desires... but.. they are not the problem.. the problem lives withing the unwieldy amount of TV dollars thrown into the mix, and the greed of attorneys/agents who want to make money off the sweat of others.
---
I'm OK if Trump wants to pull ICE agents out of California...well, as long as he shuts down their airports, and positions all the ICE and TSA agents along the East and North California borders so no one from California gets into the US.
---
Went to a movie at the Peachtree AMC Friday night..It's been years since we've done so..Two things stood out..I think they bought the theater seats from an airplane company .. my elbows reached the arm rest on the seat next to mine...and I guess the problems about teens hanging out there were/are true...the ticket taker wore a Security Company uniform.
---
What happened to Fox's Chris Wallace..Even though Wallace was an avowed DIMocrat, I use to enjoy his views, even when they differed drastically, because he did his research and offered checkable info on which he believed. Now, he's no more balanced than Juan Williams or Nancy Pelosi.
---
Trump nailed it at CPAC...For over a hour, President Trump poured his heart and love of America out. Trump kept the audience spellbound about America's future, and America is moving forward...in the right direction. Bring on November 2018!
---
Friday's local question about the 2009 law prohibiting elected officials from having business interests in T.A.D. areas/projects touched a nerve. All candidates and sitting members of Council and the MCSB, need to be scrutinized.. even the Mayor .. and spouses of all. Even handling legal closings/financing on such properties rings with possibilities of disallowed "connections".
---
Online headline: "Cop who didn't enter school during Florida shooting resigns, has home guarded, is slammed as 'coward' by Trump" -- Wow.. as Chester A Riley (William Bendix in "The Life of Riley") might have said, "What a revoltin' development this is!". Parkland, FL needs a new sheriff who inspires his men! And the most ironic thing about this is that the men guarding that shameful ex-deputy will protect him... from dead students' grieving parents.
---
From the "Hallelujah and Amen" department - Le headline/story: "Execution set for ‘Stocking Strangler’ * More than 40 years after three women were raped and murdered in the Wynnton area, convicted “Stocking Strangler” Carlton Michael Gary faces an execution date in the grisly slayings. * An order was filed Friday in Muscogee Superior Court, setting the seven-day window for the execution to begin at noon Thursday, March 15 and ending at noon a week later." -- You know.. the Ides of March would be most appropriate ... Columbus has been delayed... no, denied... betrayed... justice, and this needs to happen as quickly as possible so the last remaining living son of all the victims can have peace.
---
From the "who's on first" department - Online l-E headline/story: "LOCAL NAACP TAKEN OVER * The national administration has taken over the local branch of the NAACP in the wake of infighting. * The Columbus branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored people has been placed under the control of a national administrator due to infighting. * James Gallman, a national NAACP board member from Aiken, S.C., said the national unit and membership committee appointed him administrator of the Columbus branch during a meeting on Friday. * Gallman said Tonza Thomas, the local branch president, will still hold her position, but he’s now in charge." -- Hmmm... she's president but Gallman's "in charge"? Somehow, I do believe someone has lost his copy of Robert's Rules of Order..
---
From the L-E: picture and caption:
"

The “Drama” fountain in front of the RiverCenter was full of soap bubbles Friday around 10 a.m. The culprit has not yet been identified. -- "Soap bubbles"? That's not what I would have "guessed" was flowing out of "Viagra Falls"...
-------
L-E headline/story: "Man found not guilty in carjacking case * Columbus was found not guilty on all charges of hijacking a motor vehicle, kidnapping, attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault and using a firearm to commit a crime in the Sept. 12, 2015 case at the Cloister II Apartments, 3803 Armour Ave. * Hall said he just wanted a ride. He pulled a gun after the student refused to give him a ride" -- Another "JURY FAIL"! This is possibly the biggest jury fail ever! We have got to get concerned citizens serving on our juries! The man was masked and pulled a gun on the young woman!
No wonder our existing gun laws "don't work".. in fact, they'll never work if juries do not convict criminals illegally in possession of weapons and use them in other crimes...
---
Since March... and March Madness are almost upon us, I have one thing to repeat... 3-point shots should only count if taken from a player's offensive court.. balls flung from beyond the half-court line are not "shots", they are heaves, flings, desperation tosses.... but not "shots". Let'em count for two points.
---
From the "since when?" department - Online headline: "Major ally cancels WH visit after testy call with Trump" -- "major ally"? Mexico? The country that cannot provide jobs and a future for it's own people? The country which it's number 1 import to the US (or close to it) is illegal drugs? Was Mexico a country that fought beside us during WWII.. (ooops, wait a minute.. no Mexican soldiers died in WWII), or the country that allied with Russia and Cuba during the Castro regime? Mexico.. at best now, is a neighbor.. and not really a good one.. as Robert Frost so succinctly "poeticized", "good fences make good neighbors".
---
How genuinely appropriate.. a Military Parade in Washington, D.C. on Veterans Day.. Hey Pelosi.. you going to sit this out too? Too bad it's always going to be AFTER the November General Election dates.
---
Why are the Parkland, FL students, parents, and mainscream media and DIMocrats for that matter trying to point the finger of blame at the NRA and the White House.. their anger should be aimed first at the (_@_) Cruz, then at the Broward School Board and the Broward Sheriff's Office.
---
You know.. I don't know of any American from any party/belief that isn't incensed at the (_@_) Cruz's massacre at Parkland, FL. What amazes me is how the DIMocrats and mainscream media are mad at the wrong people... and for all the wrong reasons..
---
From the "what are they thinking" department - Mainscream media and DIMocrats are ecstatic about companies dropping discount programs with the NRA. Why? Personally, why would any company want to estrange itself from 4,500,000 people who promote gun safety and patriotism?
These are known companies:
1. @MetLife
2. @symantec
3. @BestWestern
4. @Wyndham
5. @Alamo
6. @NationalPro
7. @Enterprise
8. @FNBOmaha
9. @Hertz
10. @Budget
11. @Avis
12. @NortonOnline
13. @northAmericanVL
14. @SimpliSafe
15. @ChubbNA#BoycottNRA
16. Delta Airlines
17. United Airlines
I'm not even a member of the NRA (but ardent supporter of all of our Amendments with exception to the 17th), and I just started boycotting any dealings with the above.. I figure that if theses companies are willing to blame someone else wrongly, then they will not blame themselves when they do wrong.
---
Where are the police when we need them..Saturday morning. I was behind a loaded dump truck (what.. a minimum of 20 tons, probably more like 30 or 40 tons) traveling south on Veterans Parkway. The traffic light at 19th Street changed to yellow 200 yards in front of us. I took my foot off the accelerator to prepare to stop..the dump truck pulled ahead..the light turned "RED" about 50 yards in front of us.. I stopped.. the dump truck didn't even slow down and went full speed through the light and intersection. There was no visible markings or tags on the truck, and I couldn't get close enough to check out any door marking before I had to turn off to head to my destination. These trucks are moving battering rams, and need to be held accountable. How about our legislators getting these trucks properly marked.. Either that, or let Ken Nugent et al put monitoring cameras at intersections to capture such actions and sue truck owners who endanger other road traffic.
---
Futility...probably the best example is DIMocrats and mainscream media trying to explain why their concepts of utopian programs fail, followed closely by trying to explain how inanimate objects such as guns take on a life of their own, yet don't want to take a vehicle away from a diver arrested for DUI.
---
From the "why aren't Shicago DIMocrats against "build that library" department - Online story: "The planned Obama Presidential Center in Chicago is being privately funded, but on Friday city officials estimated how much taxpayers will pay for roadwork and other construction around the center: $175 million." -- Hmmm... Wonder how many bodies will be found in South Shicago during construction... anyone seen Hoffa?
---
From the "another week.. same problem" department - Another week has passed and not one sitting Councilperson has offered up info on the projected costs of building the roundabout at River Road, Bradley Park, Cascade and Green Island.. If it were a bridge out, expediency would take precedence to costs, but we don't need what's planned, so cost projects should be up front to weigh costs-to-value.
---
Now it appears that the known deputy that was stationed at the Parkland, FL high school and didn't engaged the (_@_) Cruz may not be the only one.. It appears 3 more arrived when the shootings were active, and they too stayed out.. Seems like it was policy agreed to by the School system and Sheriff's Department. Pray I am am wrong..
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee County school tax revenue less than expected, putting new stadium at risk" -- You know... revenue is not the actual issue here.. The revenue is about about the same as it has been for every SPLOST.. the issue is that the MCSD can... and DOES, over plan plan projects that it knows enough revenue will not be raised to cover them.. This is done to "buy votes' of people who will vote FOR SPLOSTs because they've been promised the moon. We need a law that prohibits a new SPLOST being planned for more projects than the collected revenues from the previous SPLOST actually provided.
---
The Board of Elections really needs to examine who among sitting and announced candidates for local Council/School Boards may be in violation of the 2009 law that prohibits beneficiaries of T.A.D.s from holding elected office.. Quite a few seem precariously positioned.
---
L-E headline: "Democratic memo defends FBI" -- Hmmm... sorta like the guilty hang tough together...or there's "honor" among thieves... maybe
---
Online headline: "CALIFORNIA DEMOCRATS DENY DIANNE FEINSTEIN THEIR ENDORSEMENT FOR SENATE_ -- In fact, the California DIMocratic Party gave 54% of it's straw vote support to a challenger and only 37% still support Feinstein. I'm scared... we know how awful Feinstein has been, and California DIMocrats want to replace her with someone to her left...
---
Pelosi predicts DIMs can win in November and pass a bill to rescind the corporate tax cuts. Really...That would mean taking an up/down vote for cutting a tax cut... then getting Trump to sign it... Like that would happen. So then DIMs would have to vote a second time with 67 Senators voting to override the veto, and in the next election telling voters they voted TWICE to take away TAX CUTS...ain't gonna happen!

You know.. illegal drugs.. and some legal ones without prescriptions, are a major reason for the inordinate amount of illegal guns on our streets.. Street crimes beget more street crimes... Put away the users and dealers, and guns will surely decline in use.. but what does mainscream media and the DIMocrats want.. less penalties for street drug buyers and sellers.. you have to be perverted to want lesser penalties for drug related crimes.

From the "well, it is a start" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Fla. officials call on Gov. Rick Scott to suspend Broward County's sheriff * In the four-page letter, 74 out of Florida’s 76 state House representatives accused Israel of failing to take significant action to prevent the Feb. 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in which a 19-year-old suspected gunman confessed to killing 17 people using an assault-style rifle." -- Hmmm.. "suspend"? Well, it's a start but it would be better if Sheriff Israel were suspended... from the high school's flagpole.
---
Online headline: "Delta coldly denies gold-medal curling team's request for an upgrade on Twitter" -- Hmmm... guess Delta assumed Curling was a shooting sport, and Gold Medal winning "curlers" might be members of the NRA.

From the "you cannot have it both ways" department - Online headline/story: "Transgender boy wins girls' state wrestling title for second time * For the second year in a row, a transgender wrestler has won the Texas girls’ Class 6A 110-pound division. * Mack Beggs, an 18-year-old senior from Euless Trinity High School near Dallas, entered the tournament in Cypress outside of Houston with an undefeated record. He beat Chelsea Sanchez — who he beat for the title in 2017 — in the final match Saturday. * Beggs is in the process of transitioning from female to male and taking a low-dose of testosterone." -- Good grief.. it's bad enough dealing with bathroom choices, but if a "she-t" is announces a gender change, shouldn't "she-it" move into she-it's" chosen gender-base activities? To boot, why hasn't the Texas High School Sports Association disqualified "she-it" for taking a performance enhancing drug (testosterone)?

From the "hypocrite of the tear... so far" department - Online headline/story: "Florida killer's screams of 'Murderers!' during execution not caused by lethal injection, officials say * Authorities said there was no indication that the loud screams of a Florida death-row inmate, who repeatedly hollered “Murderers!” as he was put to death Thursday evening, resulted from drugs he was given for the execution procedure. * Eric Scott Branch, 47, was sentenced to death for raping and killing Susan Morris, a 21-year-old college student in 1993. Morris’ naked body was found in a shallow grave near a nature trail. * Department of Corrections spokeswoman Michelle Glady said "there was no indication" that Branch’s screams and thrashing on a gurney in his final moments were caused by the lethal injection" -- You know.. I'm sure it was either an "act" on the (_@_)'s part as reality set in, but I wish that any pain such an (_@_) suffered was real. Of course, it may have been just his reaction to seeing the entrance Hell opening up. God is good.

With all the angst transmitted in Florida about banning guns, I believe I just may have to start "carrying" on Florida vacations now.. "Gun Free Zones seem to attract gun looneys in droves.

From the "more stupid than the roundabout at River Road" department - L-E headline story: "New road design nearly blocks entire intersection at Macon and Jenkins Road * Some Ridgewood Estates residents returned home Thursday afternoon and found a 4-inch concrete median erected in their intersection at Macon and Jenkins roads. * A city official said other neighborhoods may see an R-cut if the device reduces crashes at intersections and makes the roads safer. The one at Macon and Jenkins is the first in Muscogee County aimed at making this part of the corridor safer. * Farhad AliFarhani, assistant director of engineering/traffic engineering manager for the Columbus Consolidated Government, said Macon Road also known as State Route 22 Spur, is managed by the Georgia Department of Transportation, but the city was notified about the road design construction." -- What does the GA-DOT really stand for...Grievous Avengement - Designs of Trauma? Now.. for a farm vehicle.. horse trailer et all ,, to cross the road, the driver will have to take a right turn into 70 MPH traffic, then move across two lanes to get to a u-turn access, then repeat with a slow left turn into 70 MPH traffic while moving over into the right lane to make a right turn.. all at speeds slow enough to get a ticket and to be more of an endangerment than whatever the GA-DOT determined they "was fixin".

Now.. when is the one going to be built at Fulton/Macon Road.. yeah.. right.. guess the GA- DOT doesn't want to ruffle polo players feathers...
---
L-E headline: "Georgia county working to hire Spanish-speaking poll workers" -- hmmmm -- maybe a good idea,,, as long as the w[first question is "¿Puedo ver tu prueba de ciudadanía?" ... "May I see your proof of citizenship?"

You know, allowing same day registration and voting is about as dumb as walking into a bar during Happy Hour to recruit jurors for a trial about to begin...

Online headline: "Trump predicts NRA will back raising age limit on gun purchases" -- Still not enough... require an accepted proof of citizenship... AND not only an official "VOTER ID, but proof that a buyer HAS VOTED in an election within a two-year period before buying a gun.... which is not a big issue in today's electronic world.
---
Looks like the DIMocrats are all in on milking the emotions of the actions of mentally ill (_@_)s by getting Republicans to "deny" the NRA...Some shill 'student' wanted Sen Rubio to state he wouldn't accept any contributions from the NRA..... the way I look as it is that. donation or not, I wouldn't vote for any candidate that the NRA wouldn't confirm as pro-2nd Amendment.
---
From the "goose/gander? department - Online story: "FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb 22 (Reuters) - The armed sheriff's deputy assigned to the Florida high school where 17 people were shot and killed has resigned rather than face suspension after an internal investigation showed he failed to enter the school to confront the gunman during the attack, the county sheriff said on Thursday. * Deputy Scott Peterson, who was on duty and in uniform as the resource officer posted at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School " -- Well, well, well... under the circumstances and inflammatory comments of the Sheriff, Scott Israel himself, the sheriff should be ousted immediately as well.
---
From the "self-prophesying" department - Online headline: "Lindsey Vonn won't stop until she's officially the GOAT" -- Hey, Lindsey.. you're officially a GOAT... Ironically, Vonn will have to share this title with another Lindsey.... Senator Graham.

Pro-abortion activists...you have to wonder if their mothers have second thoughts about going full term with them.

Online headline/story: "Southern Company faces fine for faking inspections at Plant Vogtle * The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission is proposing a $145,000 civil penalty against Southern Company for faking inspections at it’s embattled plant Vogtle, according to Bloomberg. * A statement from the commission said some 13 workers at the site “did not complete required rounds to check equipment and plant conditions, but provided inaccurate documentation indicating that they had done so.” -- You know, if 13 subordinates were singled out, there was collusion involved.. and not only should the 1 be prosecuted, the chain of command above them should also be outed and ousted..

https://www.ajc.com/news/local-govt--politics/southern-company-faces-fine-for-faking-inspections-plant-vogtle/mHeOGiXq5JcviSY0BFkq0N/

In addition, those involved should pay those fines, other wise, GA Power will report them as "expenses to the GA PSC and ask for a rate increase on users!

As mentioned yesterday, a former PMSNBC 'anchor" ( a lead weight?) has declared to run in the DIMocrat primary for a NY Congressional District seat.. it will get interesting during debates to watch him come up with answers because there'll be no teleprompter for him to read from.
---
From the Reagan, "well, there she goes again or the Captain Ahab, 'thar she blows' again" department - Online headline: "Pelosi Suggests 'Mowing Grass' in Some Border Areas Rather Than Building a Wall" -- Good grief.. I guess there are other bills she didn't read before voting for them... I "feel" pretty sure there is an Environmental Order/Bill that prohibits cutting indigenous "flora" in dessert/rural areas along our border...
---
You know.. Trump's "plan" for teachers to be randomly armed is not a bad one.. it wouldn't work if Obama was President because every sicko would know who was armed, but with Trump, and his better strategy of not revealing his 'hand' ahead of time, it would.. and no teacher would necessarily be armed.. Most shooters are cowards, so they are not going to :do their thing" if they feel someone could .. would... fight back..
---
You know, if our MCSD/MCSB would announce that beginning immediately, 10 random teachers at each school would be trained and armed, and not even the school principal would know which ones were authorized, student ... and parent behavior would probably improve immediately.

Online headline: "Star Arizona guard Allonzo Trier was deemed ineligible by the NCAA on Thursday after testing positive again for a performance-enhancing substance. * Arizona is appealing the ruling." -- "Arizona is APPEALING the ruling"? Arizona should be firing the basketball staff!

Online headline: "Germany's Nicole Schott dances to Schindler's List Holocaust music *
Good grief.. the "politically correct" element is horrified.. In reality, Ms Schott should be applauded for her courage to do something that will open up discussions rather than keep them in the shadows..

From the "this is what happens when liberal courts are in control" department - Online story: "BRANDYWINE, Md. – Court records say the man who fatally shot a Maryland police officer earlier this week had been court-ordered to surrender his guns at least three times in the last five years. * The Washington Post reports three different judges ordered Glenn Tyndell to "immediately surrender all firearms" after they found his wife, ex-wife and child needed protection. * Prince George's County Sheriff's Col. Darrin C. Palmer says Tyndell had told deputies he'd turn himself in Tuesday. He didn't show.
* Prince George's County police say 37-year-old Tyndell shot Cpl. Mujahid Ramzziddin five times with a shotgun Wednesday when the off-duty officer attempted to intervene in a dispute between Tyndell and his wife. Tyndell then fled before being fatally shot by officers Luke Allen and Channing Reed, who have been place on paid leave." -- Three judges.. indicating three charges.. ordered the (_@_) to surrender his weapons.... the (_@_) didn't... then a County Sheriff's Department Colonel said the (_@_) agreed to turn himself in... the (_@_) didn't..... and then an off duty deputy sheriff tried to intervene with another of the (_@_)'s violent actions with his wife, and the (_@_) shot him... 5 TIMES! 5 TIMES with a SHOTGUN!,, and when two responding deputies chased the fleeing (_@_) and killed him, the two deputies are relieved of duty.. for an indeterminate time. Baltimore should have a parade for the two deputies... with the dead (_@_) head mounted on a trophy board!

L-E headline: "TEACHER OF THE YEAR * Muscogee County’s 2018 winner will be one of these 10 semifinalists" -- Congratulations to all 57 of these teachers, and special congats to the 10 semi-finalists!
---
L-E headline: "Continuing Hope! Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity" -- Hmmm... we should applaud.. and support.. enthusiastically .. the cause of Habitat for Humanity, and it's effort to clean up neighborhoods... but I tell you what, Habitat for Humanity should start with its own headquarters on River Road. It's a constant "mess" in a very visible tract between River Road and Veterans Parkway.

From the "every body is a victim" department - L-E story: "An admitted car burglar accused of carjacking a Columbus State University student told police the victim forced him to steal her car when she jumped out of the moving vehicle to escape. * “I just wanted a ride,” Desmine Devante Hall told detectives during his recorded interview, which prosecutors played for jurors this week in his carjacking trial. When the student refused to give him a lift, he had to pull a gun and force her to, he said." -- Good grief.. talk about mental illness (and not just this (_@_), but by our legal society that allows him to exist)! Why didn't the (_@_) turn in his gun for a reward and use the cash to call Uber if all he wanted was "a ride". On the other hand, with the crimes listed that he's been previously charged with (including a previously convicted felon with a gun charge) but not gone to court on, why was this (_@_) on the street!
---
Yesterday, I brought up a story about two 15 year olds being involved in a drive-by shooting. Today, I'm recalling it because the other two people in the car were also caught.. even worse is that the other two are actually 14! They've all been sent to Juvy.. and they'll treated like children instead of the societal pariahs they've become.. and their "pranks" will be sealed, and they will be out at 18 and able to buy guns legally because their "pranks" won't be on their records. Our courts have got to progress.. we're not talking about just bad choices.. we're talking about bad lifestyle.
---
Yesterday, I mentioned another drop out of a Council candidate because of his desire to personally profit from T.A.D. district development.. today it's confirmed that Garrett Lawrence has withdrawn from the District 7 race race.. By doing so, he's opened a can of worms about eligibility of politicians. sitting or running for government jobs.. Seems there are specific laws forbidding this.. Now, what about Cathy Williams? She runs a business that thrives in TAD areas, and lives in the downtown area as well....or Kia Chambers who's also a real estate agent and does business in TAD areas?. Oh, and what about Skip Henderson... another real estate mogul?
---
From the "what's the use" department - L-E headline: "Railroad crossings getting more repairs after driver complaints" -- wait a minute.. I'm going to add my complaint, too, and it's about the railroad crossings they've "ALREADY FIXED".. The ones on 54th Street near Veterans, and on 2nd Avenue just north of 19th Street are pitiful!

Billy Graham..99...has left us....well, he's left us with faith, love, and hope...whatta legacy... and all without building a concrete/glass/steel monument to himself...hmmm..I wonder if megachurch, televangelists are rethinking their existence..
...... hmmm.... NAH!

From the "grandstanding one's stupidity... the Barney Fife effect" department - Online headline/story: " Florida deputies will carry rifles on school grounds after Parkland shooting * "Our deputies who are qualified and trained will be carrying rifles on school grounds from this point forward," Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said during a news conference Wednesday * The school district's superintendent, Robert Runcie, supported the decision, Israel added. Some of the deputies will be carrying single-shot AR-15s, he said." -- "single shot AR-15s"? Guess the deputies will carry their bullet in their shirt pockets...
Sheriff Israel MUST be a DIMocrat.. he practices the Obama policy of advertising his next moves to "the enemies".
---
Unfortunately, there are many...too many ways to abuse children.. none are "OK" in any manner, but one of the most objectionable abuses occurs when politicians use children to raise emotional response to issues that they cannot get sympathy for based on weak data. We've all been drawn into it with local pleas of "it's for the children", but watching politicians hide behind children speaking about Constitutional issues, then taking advantage of the children's' naivety and lack of maturity and redirecting the demonstrations to push their own agenda is horrible.. We are seeing it live in Florida and wherever politicians can get access to mainscream media cameras.
---
Just heard one of the permanent DIMocrat's talking head spinmeisters on Fox News adamant about stopping mentally ill persons running around with guns killing people. I've never heard her say the same about stopping illegal aliens running around shooting/raping American citizens.
---
Ever figured out why mainscream media/DIMocrats get in such a frenzy find a way to end mass shootings, yet object violently to building "the wall" which WILL help stopping killings by illegal aliens?

From the "Pete Rose Syndrome... or how to eliminate your Hall of Fame eligibility" department - Online headline/story: "Mark Cuban fined $600,000 for saying tanking 'is our best option' * On Monday, Cuban said that he had communicated with his team that tanking “is our best option.” * "I'm probably not supposed to say this, but, like, I just had dinner with a bunch of our guys the other night, and here we are, you know, we weren't competing for the playoffs,” Cuban said Monday on a podcast with Hall of Famer Julius Irving. “I was like, 'Look, losing is our best option.'" -- Hmmm... sorta like "shaving points" or "betting on/against your own team". Bookies and bettors would have a field day with this info..all to better position his team in the next draft...
I tell you what, as a player, if an owner or coach ever told me to "lay down", I'd have walked out of the locker room...

Online headline/story: "Truck hit by train carrying GOP lawmakers was in crossing after warning, NTSB says * The train carrying members of Congress to a Republican retreat in West Virginia last month struck a garbage truck that had entered a railroad crossing after safety gates had come down, according to a new report released Wednesday. * The train, which was operated by Amtrak, also had a forward-facing camera, which showed as the crossing came into view, "the gates were down and the refuse truck was on the grade crossing."" -- And the plot thickens... My first 2 questions were "why did the truck driver plus two stay in the cab", and "why was there not a law enforcement officer assigned to road/railroad common crossings". Look like this may have been intentional.. a conspiracy...and possibly a "suicide mission" by the men in the garbage truck.

Online story: "Georgia has more than 500 hazardous sites in need of costly cleanup, but an analysis of state spending shows that it routinely shorts the trust fund that’s supposed to pay for them. * Less than half of the $14.5 million in fees the state collects on average for hazardous waste cleanup annually is spent on that need, a WSB-TV analysis of state budget figures shows. The rest goes into Georgia’s general fund for other purposes. * “We find that a lot of people had no idea this was going on,” said Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman with the Georgia Water Coalition." -- "a lot of people had no idea this was going on"? You know, this is sad, but what we really need to know is the names OF THE PEOPLE WHO DID KNOW THIS WAS GOING ON!

Heard a rumor of another Council Post 7 candidate may be running since Wilson and Lawrence pulled out.. Oh. it was nice to see Bart Steed FINALLY turned in his "Declaration of Intention" form on Feb. 9, 2018 for MCSD District 2... it has been reported more than once before this date that he was already a qualified candidate..
---
L-E headline/story: "MCSD says it’s ‘upside down’ on Bibb City school, board votes on sale * The Muscogee County School Board has sold the dilapidated but historic Bibb Elementary School for $15,000 to former Georgia state Rep. Earl T. Davis. * To the taxpayers, Cantrell said, “It is our responsibility and on our shoulders to say, ‘What are we doing as far as your money out there?’ You’ve got to have some trust.” -- Hey, Mark Cantrell... the taxpayers are calling .. because you haven't EARNED the trust you feel you are entitled to have!
---
L-E headline/story: "You pay less for garbage because of prison labor. What happens if that all goes away? * Columbus has the largest prison work camp in the state of Georgia.
* On any given weekday, hundreds of prisoners hit the streets to collect trash, clean city buildings, dig ditches, maintain roadways and other locations such as golf courses.
* But what would happen if the program, which has existed for more than 135 years, suddenly went away? * Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said it’s a real possibility that could have a big impact on your finances. * “You need to understand that our work camp yields about $17 million in value to this city,” she said while answering a question at her last State of the City address. “So right now your garbage fee is $17 a month. That’s because the labor is largely free. * “If the work camps were to go away, you need to start thinking in the range of $32 to $35 a month,” she added. “And that’s just sort of the beginning.” -- Hmmm First, since we pay $17.00 a month for garbage collection, perhaps it's time to look at the City Charter compared to State regulations that to be a city, police/ fire and garbage collection are required functions... seems to me, a separate garbage fee system is against the basic tenets required of maintaining our charter.. Secondly.. maybe we need.. no, we DEFINITELY need a forensic audit of all garbage related expenditure.. (including dumps/landfills and the recycling plan..). Thirdly, we need a plan if the Mayor leads the elimination of prisoners usages.. I suggest we consult former Sheriff Joe Arpaio to make us a plan for a low cost prisoner "Tent City" to be built on "former" Mayor Tom-LYING-son's spacious homestead.
---
Online headline: "Former MSNBC anchor Dylan Ratigan running for Congress" -- Hmm as a DIMocrat... in New York..I can see his campaign slogan.. Dylan Ratigan.. another DIMoc-RAT who RAN"

From this story: "Last spring, Ratigan was hired by his former MSNBC colleague, Cenk Uygur, as a contributor to his Young Turks Network. Uygur told The Hollywood Reporter that Ratigan will be a "great" candidate. * "He's not going to be weighed down by any party orthodoxy," Uygur said. "He's a truly independent thinker." -- "independent thinker"? Yeah.. right.. there are no "independent thinkers" in the DIMocrats.. I think the DIMocratic Party established this during Trump's SOTU speech when none stood up to praise a 12 year old who was spotlighted for putting US Flags on veterans' grave sites.
---
Have you heard that Clinton Campaign Manager Amanda Rentería has announced she is running for governor of California? Believe the only question I would ask her if running against her would be... Did you support Hellary's covert plan to rig the primary against Bernie?
---
Online headline/story: "Inmate set to be executed: Veins too damaged for injection *
Alabama is set to execute an inmate who argues his past drug use and cancer have too badly damaged his veins and will make the lethal injection unconstitutionally painful." -- Excuse me, First.. since he was sentenced to die, why were measures taken to treat his cancer... Secondly, as Hellery might say, "What difference does it make" if he suffers a little pain from a lethal injection.. he's not going to have to live with it very long.

Online headline: "Teen Vogue’s Lauren Duca rips ‘evil’ Rev. Billy Graham: ‘Have fun in hell’" -- Well, the good news, Ms Duca.. is that by acknowledging "hell", you have acknowledged God... and I imagine God just put you own His naughty list..

L-E headline/story: "Local animal shelter raising money for new washers, dryers * The CEO of the nonprofit animal shelter said a campaign has begun to raise $20,000 to purchase two new washers and dryers. * Yeo said the campaign is being led by volunteers Judy Brouillette and Doug McLeod." -- Has anyone run a criminal background check on volunteers?
---
From the" technically they ARE children... but..." department - L-E headline: "15-year-old boys charged in drive-by shooting on St. Marys Road" -- This is where it starts... the court failure.. two 15 years olds will be treated like children.. sentences will be sealed.. and their record will not show up on gun background checks when they are old enough to buy them.
---
L-E headline/story: "Florida students demand change to gun laws at rally * Filled with fury and impatient for change, hundreds of Florida high school students rallied Wednesday at the state Capitol to demand that lawmakers take action in the final weeks of the legislative session to curb the sale of assault rifles. * “Anybody who opposes common-sense gun legislation should fear for their jobs,” called out Andre Santos, one of several students who joined lawmakers and gun-control advocates." -- Hmmm.. and any student who doesn't know...understand.. our Constitution and history should have to re[eat school from the 8th grade up.
---
From the "bogus list" department - L-E headline: "35 restaurants in Columbus make top places to eat list" -- Hmmm.. any list of good restaurants that leave out "Smokey Pig" and "Epic" is bogus...at best..
---
It's sadly comical... OK sickly comical... that mainscream media is so concerned about "the missed messages" the Parkland, FL (_@_) sent to authorities, but has no concerned for the blatant messages of criminal illegal aliens send daily because there's no wall on our Southern border.

Online headline: "The US team is falling apart at the Winter Olympics and is on pace to have its worst medal performance in two decades" -- Hmmm.. could it simply be that "our" Olympians were spending too much time on practicing politics and representing their own agenda rather than practicing their skills and representing America?
---
From the "style over substance" department - Online headline/story: "Oprah agrees to match George and Amal Clooney's donation to 'March for Our Lives' * Oprah Winfrey is matching George and Amal Clooney’s donation for the survivors of the Parkland, Florida school shooting. * A group of teens who survived the shooting is organizing the March 24th "March for Our Lives" movement in Washington, D.C. in support of gun control and reform. * George and Amal have announced they’re donating $500,000 to the march in the name of their twins, and Oprah is following suit." -- Good grief.. if Oprah, and the Clooneys wanted to "help", then they should donate their money to either unseating DIMocrats who have destroyed personal responsibility and accountability within the court system, or... OR spend their combined wealth on buying up stolen/illegal guns and destroying them. As it is, I hope someone keeps an audited accounting on where their donations are SPENT... we all know the money will be in some promoters' pockets.
---
You know, students marching, or getting on buses and heading to state, even National capitals, to change our Constitutional Amendment just shows how poorly the education system has explained... has taught ..the Constitutional process to our students.
---
Now, if Oprah and the Clooneys want to do some real good with their money, how about pooling it and going after the lawyer of the Parkland, FL (_@_) killer who insulted the deaths of the 17 and taunted their families when she said ""Nikolas Cruz could plead guilty in Florida high school shooting to avert death penalty". I mean.. "could" plea guilty.... gimmee a break! No, give the (_@_) lawyer two breaks.. a leg and a skull.

Since Mitt Romney has declared his run for US Senate from Utah, mainscream media has been quick to remind us what Romney said about Trump in 2016.. Now that Trump has kept his promises he made to America, I think it's about time for Romney to make amends and a public apology to Trump.
---
Not only is it ironic, but it's pathetic that the state of NY is advertising lower taxes as a reason for new businesses to come there..After all, Schumer and Gilliland voted against the Trump Tax Cut.

L-E headline/story: "Columbus chef was at odds with landlord before his lease was terminated * Keating Culinary had a five-year lease with the Hospital Authority of Columbus, Georgia executed shortly before the authority completed purchase of the property for $3.4 million from RiverMill Studio LLC. The property is being held for the future site of a nursing home or senior living facility, said Hospital Authority President Frank Morast." -- The worst reveal is that the Hospital Authority bought prime real estate in a Mayor Tom-LYING-son T.A.D. area using taxpayer backed bonds. In addition, the Hospital Authority gave the previous owners an $900,000.00 profit on what they had paid for it just one year before that. But getting back to the reason that the Hospital Authority bought it is frightening in that the HA bought it for speculative reasons, not immediate needs.

Online headline: "Lindsey Vonn '99.9 percent sure' 2018 will be her last Olympics" -- Well, I second that.. and clap in gratitude that is was...

Another from the "style over substance" department - Online headline/story: "Banks are mulling a creative way to enforce gun control even if the government doesn't make a single change * "Assault weapons would be eliminated from virtually every firearms store in America because otherwise the sellers would be cut off from the credit card system," Sorkin wrote." -- Good grief.. as Reagan use to say, "“It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.” First, no store retails "assault/automatic weapons".. that's already illegal. Secondly, most American gun owners/buyers would ditch their credit cards and get one that doesn't ban their use, and third, like SNAP/EBT cards, retailers would "wink" and just ring up wrongful sales under another category.
---
Word is that Trump wants to block the sale of "bump stocks"... and I agree... we saw how "bump stocks" could be used in horrible ways during the Las Vegas massacre.. my view is that a "bump stock" actually interferes with the accuracy if you're hunting, so I would never want one anyway..

Mayor Tom-LYING-son exits office...

From the "greed rears it's ugly head" department - Online headline/story: Woman who cared for Florida gunman reportedly wants to control his inheritance * Just one day after the shooting massacre last week at a Florida high school, the woman who cared for the alleged shooter and his brother filed court papers seeking control of their inheritance, which could total up to $800,000, according to the New York Post. * Roxanne Deschamps also had Zachary Cruz, the brother of shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz, involuntarily committed to a mental facility shortly after the massacre, the Post reported, citing a family source. * Deschamps, a longtime family friend of the Cruz brothers, began looking after them after their adoptive mother, Lynda, died of pneumonia in November. * While there are no indications Deschamps would be able to obtain the inheritance for herself, she could charge a fee for her efforts administering the estate, subject to judicial approval. * The Broward County Sheriff’s Office has filed a motion asking the court to determine whether Cruz is indigent and eligible for a taxpayer-funded defense. * If the court concludes Cruz can pay for his own legal defense, he’ll have to hire a private attorney. * His money -- including any inheritance he obtains -- would be subject to seizure in a civil judgment, including one resulting from any potential wrongful death lawsuits filed by his alleged victims." -- Once again.. "it's about the money".. Now, the Court should dismiss the (_@_)'s appointed lawyer.. you know, the one that insulted/taunted the dead and their families by saying, "Nikolas Cruz could plead guilty".

Maybe I've missed it.. but probably not... but where is the L-E's investigation of Jehmu Greene's accusation of inappropriate behavior she leveled against local state representative Calvin Smyre? From the "empty threat" department - LIV's L-E "soundoff": " If you are a congressmen and receive money from the NRA you will not get my vote!" -- Hmmm... As Popeye might start... me thinks this "soundoffer" has never.. will never .. vote for a Republican..yet will wrongly thank DIMocrats for the new tax cut (well, if he/she has a job) enhanced paycheck he/she is receiving.

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

From the "poll truth" department - HuffPOOPOO story:"More than half of Americans are now in favor of the GOP tax law, according to a new Survey Monkey poll released Monday by The New York Times. * A Survey Monkey Spokesperson told The New York Times, “Considering where it was, it is dramatically different.” * Fifty-one percent of the country approves of the tax changes which is up from only 37 percent of the country in December. * According to the New York Times, other polls have shown similar results. A Monmouth University poll in January found support had risen to 44 percent nationally from 26 percent in December." -- Hmmm..basically, American workers/voters have told the DIMocrats... in no uncertain term... Hey, Obama .. Bill and Hellary .. Biden .. Pelosi.. Schumer... YOU LIED!
---
The National campaign focus for November 2018 for Republicans should focus on the economy and tax cuts.. Republicans, especially those running for Senate seats against incumbent DIMocrats should pound out this message... "my opponent voted against tax cuts for your family, he/she supports sanctuary cities/states and voted against border security for your safety , he/she voted against our military being respected worldwide... and if he/she says anything different, he/she is LYING TO YOU ... AGAIN!
---
You know.. as we get closer to the campaigning season for ongoing local government leadership, I hope those that stay and those that come on board for the first time remember something that Mayor Tom-LYING-son never brought to Columbus.. we Columbusites need to think.. or at a minimum.."feel", that we are safe.. cared for.. alright.. that's something that has been missing for the last 7 years.
---
We seem to focused on the crime and murder numbers under Mayor Tom-LYING-son's watch, but who is keeping up with the number of businesses that have closed in Columbus under her reign? Oh, and the loss of revenue the City and MCSD received on sales taxes.
---
Whether it's local or National, any crime rate declines have to include mention that illegal border crossings are down 50%, and the thanks need to be directed to Trump, not local politicians.
---
Looks like Council District 7 has lost another contender.. an e-mail forwarded to me by Mimi's last announced challenger shows Garret Lawrence pulling out.. said he was more concerned with being able to make money under the "T.A.D." program than in helping all Columbus get back on it's feet.
---
Blue Cross of Idaho is offering.. ultimately subject to government approval, health insurance policies that do not conform to "OObamaCRAP" * "There's just no question that what Idaho is allowing is on the face of it not permitted under the ACA," (Larry) Levitt (a senior vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation, a health-policy think tank) said. "Probably most egregious is that these new plans charge sick people more than healthy people, and that's clearly prohibited by the ACA. * Blue Cross says it will begin to sell the plans in early March, with coverage starting in April." -- You know.. OObamaCRAP (ACA) is basically dead since not buying no longer gets you fined..and no one has to buy the new Blue Cross of Idaho's new offering.. so.. isn't this exactly what our healthcare system "needs"... a user supported policy...
---
From the "did you expect anything different" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Celebrities slam President Trump in honor of President's Day" -- Leave it to HuffPOOPOO to consider slamming the sitting President on Presidents' Day is a "honor"..
"When" .. "Where"... and most importantly, "Why" did our education system go so wrong...
---
Fergie...what were you "on"? If there was any good in her rendition of our National Anthem was that NBA/NFL players saw first hand at how their disrespect for the National Anthem makes our Country feel.
---
Online headline: "Mariah Carey gives Fergie advice after national anthem performance at NBA All-Star game" -- Hopefully, the NBA will be wiser-smarter .. than ABC .. and not invite Fergie back to the next NBA game...
---
From the "are liberals always this dumb" department - Online headline: "X-ray analysis of Picasso masterpiece reveals hidden painting" -- Good grief.. I imagine most significant works of art have something painted-over underneath the current surface.. it was.. still is.. called "recycling"...what does an artist do with work that either no longer pleases him/her or didn't "sell".. Does the artist just throw it away, or simply paint over it with a new idea?
---
The Monday stance of mainscream media is that the (_@_) Cruz in Florida just didn't bring enough attention to himself that he had issues..Hmmm.. in my book, when 3 dozen 911 calls go in about someone and there are zero arrests, and a school expels a student, and the school system just reassigns him to another school, there were plenty of opportunities to issue an arrest warrant that might have put a stop on his gun background check.. The problem was "political correctness" run amok..
---
Online headline: "Teens stage White House 'lie-in' to protest lack of gun control" -- Good grief.. talk about whining... and whining only for mainscream media.. the Trumps were in Mar Lago yesterday...
---
You know.. mainscream media didn't need to go to Washington to get pictures of teens lying on the streets pretending to be shot.. they could have gone to Shicago and actually gotten pictures of 31 shot last week.
---
As tragic as any killings at a school are, why doesn't mainscream media show concern for the 100s of thousands of deaths by abortion at Planned Parenthood?
---
From the "wait a darn minute" department - Online headline/story: "Killer wants $100G from book deal to go to his kids' education, Michigan says: Not so fast * The state of Michigan is reportedly looking to pocket more than $100,000 from an convicted killer's book sales as compensation for his imprisonment, but the inmate wants his children to get the money for their education. * Dawkins, a father of three, was sentenced to life without parole. * In July, Simon & Schuster published Dawkins’ book “The Graybar Hotel,” a short story collection which “offers a window into prison life through the eyes of his narrators and their cellmates.” * The felon reportedly received a $150,000 advance for his work * In October, the state’s Department of Treasury filed a lawsuit demanding 90 percent of Dawkins’ assets. * Michigan is one of dozens of states that can force inmates to pay for the cost of their imprisonment * The advance he received from the publishing company was split with the founder of a literary magazine who helped him get the book deal in the first place." -- Excuse me, but how does a convicted felon serving his sentence get to conduct legal work in the first place, that's not associated with his incarceration/appeals? Being a convicted and sentenced felon pretty much voids out his Constitutional rights other than protection against "cruel and unusual punishment". The "founder of the literary magazine" who "helped" him get the book deal needs to be prosecuted for smuggling in contraband (unsigned document), and sneaking in a pen (sharp pointy object that could be used as a weapon).
---
Online headline: "Bill Clinton wants to give his opinion about whether or not Lewinsky documents should be released" -- Wait a minute let's rewind a bit to separate Hellary and Biden 'moments": Hellary... "what difference will it make", and Biden: B-- F------ Deal". Besides... as shown on Lewinsky's blue dress, Slick Willie already had his chance to "release" his opinion of Lewinsky... and Hellary..
---
From the "if we try hard enough, we can make it look normal" department - Online headline/story: "Girl power: life's going swimmingly for all-female fish species * An all-female freshwater fish species called the Amazon molly that inhabits rivers and creeks along the Texas-Mexico border is living proof that sexual reproduction may be vastly over-rated." -- Try... try as they may, there is already a scientific term for such life forms.. "asexual".. and we already know of another life form, the "earthworm" that is also "asexual", but what the proponents of this story about the Amazon Molly were in no hurry to mention in this story is that there actually IS male fertilization in their reproduction. Late in the story, it is casually "mentioned" that, ""The Amazon molly female produces clones of itself by duping a male of a closely related species to mate with her. The asexual mode of reproduction termed gynogenesis requires the female to mate with a male but none of the male's genome is passed to the offspring," said geneticist Wesley Warren of the McDonnell Genome Institute at Washington University in St. Louis. * The Amazon molly's egg cells are activated to develop into an embryo by a sperm cell that degenerates without fusing with the egg's nucleus."

The Winter Olympics have about lost me...while I certainly admire the guts of folks who do acrobatics on skis/snowboards, they are still basically "cult/trash sports" and do not fit what I consider Olympic standards. What's next, Ice Skate Derby?
---
That Over-the-counter brain improver made from some part of Jellyfish is advertising again...why does the maker think I actually want to swallow some part of a jellyfish? I have zero good experiences involving any jellyfish contact in my 70 years of beach vacations.
---
Thank goodness for President Trump.. while mainscream media and DIMocrats and RINOs alike have focused on nanny-nanny-poo-poo "investigations", President Trump has restored world confidence in America, put our economy back on track, gotten a massive tax cut through, eliminated the tax on people's choice about health insurance, gotten businesses to come back to America, and cut illegal border crossings in half. Oh, and our military is PROUD again! Good job!
---
Gun laws are not weak...just the enforcement of them, as is the handling of abusers by the court system.
---
What is the difference between the (_@_) kid who killed 17 in Florida, and the (_@_) who killed those 9 churchgoers in South Carolina, and, for that matter, the 3 kids that bludgeoned 3 generations of a family? Dylan Roof has been sentenced..RIGHTFULLY.. to death as should the Florida killer and the killers here in Columbus. Oh, and why is Roof still breathing a year after his sentencing?
---
From the "for what" department - Good grief...sick lawyers are grabbing cameras and microphones in Florida saying they are trying to save the school shooters life. WHAT IN THE WORLD FOR? So he might get out in the future and do it again?
---
You know, Mueller, Schumer and Pelosi concerns about Russian efforts to influence our elections might get better traction if Mueller, Schumer and Pelosi would start with to open and known efforts of Obama trying to undermine the Israeli elections.
---
Oprah just announced that the world's point of view of America has digressed because Trump considers some 3rd world despotic countries as "s***holes". Good grief, nothing Obama did gave any foreign country, especially those which looked to us as their ally, the comfort that America could support them against terrorist uprisings.
---
Jennifer Lawrence has announced she's going to become a "politician"..This from a celebrity who said, "“if Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world,”... Well, as an actress. this will be a real stretch for her abilities since there's plenty of imagery showing that she has no moral compass.
---
L-E headline/story: "Guilty verdict for teen in 2016 triple murder trial * The jury deliberated around 22½ hours before notifying the court at 3:15 p.m. that it had a partial verdict. Burks had faced 10 counts, but the jury hung on half of them, and Judge Gil McBride declared a mistrial on those charges. * The other charges were three counts of malice or intentional murder and two counts of felony murder. * Burks’ indictment shows the felony murder charge on which he was convicted was for Caleb’s death." -- And on Burks' record. will be the ABSENCE of the death of two other people.. including a 10 years old girl and his bride, and those deaths will not be part of any future discussions if Burks ever gets a parole hearing. At least the jury did not leaving the Shorts without some justice.. too bad the Robert Short will never be able to put this behind him knowing those 3 animals will still be breathing when he passes.
---
L-E headline: "Pending buyer of dilapidated, historic Bibb City school would pay $15K, plans to redevelop it" -- The only good thing for Columbus is that the old Bibb School property will be back on the tax digest... but at only $15.000.00 which interprets into a maximum of $247.50 in property taxes.. Of course, the developer will get T.A.D. designations and literally get a tax freeze on that property for some 20-to-30 years. Our MCSB and Council need to go back to school and learn business economics.
---
Talking about Bibb City properties.. did you know that when the Hospital Authority of Columbus bought the River Mill Event Center, the Hospital Authority paid the previous buyer a $900,000.00 dollar premium for owning it one year?

L-E headline: "Oxfam says workers in Haiti threatened witness to misconduct" -- Before mainscream media goes any further with this, mainscream media needs to show us any Clinton/OxFam connections...

My granddaughter's Sunday School lesson was on Kindness...as we left church, we were talking with one of our Senior women members, and my granddaughter reached up and handed her a crayon picture of a rainbow she'd drawn in class, and said, "This is for you." The three of us adults were touched deeply by her sharing. Was so proud of her...A couple of hours later, my bride and I were playing with her in our front yard again. She wanted to "race" .. Of course, she "won"....we effused over her being so fast.. perhaps too much... then she asked to race again..we lined up and took off..all of a sudden, I was ahead of her, so I slowed down...instead of passing me, she slowed down some more..she was "letting me win"... what lessons we can learn about kindness from our grandchildren.

Let's be honest...gun laws do not .. will not....work well when the jury/judicial system keeps putting violent criminals back on the streets.
---
From the "most unfortunate headline wording" department - WTVM 9 headline: "Masterwork Ministry hosts drive to raise funds for sex trafficking" -- Good grief,,, how a pitiful choice of words an undermine wonderful deeds,, A better .. a lot more appropriate headline would/should have been, "Masterwork Ministry hosts drive to raise funds to combat sex trafficking".
---
From the "when you talk about the man in the mirror" department - Online story: "Former Mexican president Vincente Fox was the mid-show guest on Friday’s episode of “Real Time With Bill Maher,” and right off the bat they discussed the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. And as far as Fox was concerned, the tragedy is a by-product of bigotry and racism, particularly the sort that comes out of Donald Trump’s Mouth. * Mentioning the “very sad event in Florida,” Fox said things like that happen “when you speak out of the white house this aggressive violent language, [when] you discriminate, when you’re a racist, that’s what you get.” -- Forget the Mexican mass graves, decapitated victims of drug lords, and mass hangings from bridges, in May 2005, a controversy arose over comments Fox made during a meeting with Texas business people in which he said, "There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work, are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States." This angered African-Americans in the United States, prompting many black leaders to demand an apology from Fox. Reverend Al Sharpton requested a formal apology from Fox to the African-American community and called for an economic boycott of Mexican products until an apology was received. Sharpton, along with many African-Americans felt that Fox's comments were insensitive and racist. Reverend Jesse Jackson, during a news conference concerning Fox's statement about African-Americans, said that he felt that the comments were, "unwitting, unnecessary and inappropriate," and added that "[Fox's] statement had the impact of being inciting and divisive."

Online headline: "Melania Trump breaks precedent again, doesn't walk to Marine One with the president" -- Hmmm.. and mainscream media didn't blink an eye when the Obama's traveled in separate jets...
---
From the "poll truth and nothing but the poll truth" department - Online headline/story: "New poll suggests a lot of people want Melania Trump to leave the president * According to Marist's latest poll, a significant amount of Americans feel the U.S. first lady should her husband. * More than one third (34 percent) of those surveyed believe the former model should end her marriage with President Trump over claims he had an affair with the porn star Stormy Daniels." -- Oh... based on the word of a publicity seeking "strumpet", 34% of liberals "polled" feel like convicting President Trump.. Let's see.. that means 66% think Davis is at best, a publicity seeking "strumpet".. Two things come to mind.. let's "poll" the 34% and see how many feel Hellary should have left Slick Willie after Monica produced "the blue dress"? Oh, and isn't the "strumpet" lucky we are not a country ofSharia laws.. otherwise she'd be stoned to death already.
---
The key to successful gun laws is stringent death sentences for using guns in crimes. Mandatory death sentences in all but true self-defense moments, with sentencings carried out within weeks rather than decades.
---
L-E headline: "Mill site would be private development — but you might be helping pay for it" -- As Gomer Pyle might exclaim, "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise.... NOT! When the Mayor gave her "good" and "bad" stories at the Chamber gathering, she didn't delve into the "UGLY".. Clint Eastwood should have been there to debate the empty chair when she left the stage.. Obviously, her supporters know more about economics and tax breaks than she feels she knows... while she sought to eliminate the Tax Freeze on all homeowners in Columbus, she pushed T.A.D.s to delight of her backers, as they already knew that the T.A.D. could be used to give them a "length of the T.A.D property tax freeze" on commercial property development. Additionally.... SADLY... 9 of the Councilors voted YES top approve this...
---
From an "out-of-the-mind-of-minutia" ..LIV's "soundoff: "If the speed limits were lowered, the people would drive slower and many people would live longer." -- No, lowering speed limits would just create more speed traps and keep our police officers writing tickets rather than patrolling neighborhoods to keep them safe from those ignoring the existing gun laws.
---
Another Uber-LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Donald Trump, forget the wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Build walls around our schools to protect our innocent children." -- Hmmm..and create "sanctuary schools" for MS 13 students?
---
L-E story: "Free Mental Health Education Class The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Columbus is offering a free mental health education class-Peer-to-Peer. A free, 10-session educational program for adults who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. " -- Hmmm... I'll bet this will be as successful as "quit smoking" sessions, and "prison rehabs".. Libs just eat-this-stuff-up.... and "Free"? Not hardly... you can count on it being paid for with other people's money...
---
From the "culture shock" department - Sunday was Yoko Ono's birthday.. can you believe she is 85?.. Well, John Lennon would be 78 this year if he was still alive.
---
L-E headline/story: "Columbus mom whose dead baby was eaten by bugs gets reduced sentence * (A) jury in 2013 convicted Jessica Shah of felony murder based on first-degree child cruelty, but three years later the Georgia Supreme Court overturned her conviction and sent the case back to Muscogee County Superior Court." -- And I guess the Supreme Court's definition for baby's death can be reduced to "inadvertently stopped breathing"..
---
Know we hear that Cruz posted on Snapchat in 2016 tha he was trying to buy a gun.. The more we hear, the more obvious that the Parkland Sheriff and Obama administration were the culprits responsible for Cruz being out on the streets.
---
From the "absolutely disgusting" department - Online headline: "Nikolas Cruz could plead guilty in Florida high school shooting to avert death penalty, lawyer says" -- Good grief.. how disgusting.. a lawyer teasing.. insulting.. the families of 17 dead people, and insulting the the whole justice system... The state of Florida should make sure the taxpayers DO NOT PAY a penny for Cruz.. seems he had money enough to buy guns.. I guess from converting the assets of his dead mother's estate, so this lawyer should just have settle for what's left of it.
---
I tell you what.. I will support, well, at least LISTEN TO/ENTERTAIN, most any of the gun laws DIMocrats want to pass if they will include automatic death sentences for everyone who had a previous violent felon conviction who possesses a gun in commission of any crime, or shoots someone, fatally or not.
---
Did watch some of the Olympics..I have to say I wasn't disappointed watching Lindsey Vonn drop off the medal board in the GS. I have a hard timed supporting US Olympic athletes who complain our country's leadership.

From the "bet this is Alec Baldwin's next SNL skit" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Pilot forced to make emergency landing after fight breaks out over farting passenger * A flight traveling from Dubai to Amsterdam was forced to make an emergency landing after a fight erupted mid-air over a passenger who would reportedly not stop passing gas. * According to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, the Transavia Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Vienna International Airport after two Dutch-Moroccan passengers began complaining to flight attendants about an older man's unrestrained flatulence." -- Bet the CEO felt a great deal of relief himself that this was not a flight in American airspace, or his company would be hit with multiple lawsuits involving age discrimination, and ADA issues.
---
It's nice seeing TV ads from other industries than ambulance chasers and anti-depressant meds. When was the last time you saw a Captain D's ad. I guess American companies really see the Trump Tax Cut gives them more profits to not only boost their employees paychecks, but also the extra margins to spend money GROWING their businesses.
---
That (_@_) Cruz in Parkland, FL passed a FBI background check to buy the rifle he used..since law enforcement had been called to disturbances at his home over 30 times, and had been expelled from that skill, why wasn't this info on his record (DOH! We know why!) so the FBI would know, but the real reason was the FBI was spending too much time trying to explain why it's going after Trump instead of Hellary, Holder, Lynch, and Obama.
---
That Sheriff.. Scott Israel.. in Florida who's stridently calling for more gun controls should resign immediately or be recalled! Seems law enforcement was called out to the killers home over 30 times and not one arrest!
---
Online headline: "Rick Scott says FBI director Wray should resign over Florida shooting" --Whatta political wus! Since 2010, there has been a stream of sheriff's deputies answering calls at the home of Cruz, yet not one arrest, nor any action by Mueller or Comey when they headed the FBI for those 6 years.
---
From the "when self-serving is self-defeating" department - Online headline: "Baltimore County jury awards $37M to family of police shooting victim" -- Good grief.. wonder if the jury understands that "they have raided their own pantry", and many services they expect will not get funded?
---
From the "why it's fully justified to rename a city" department - Online story: Cook County Jail officials said they plan to take action against several inmates who clapped for the man accused of fatally shooting a police commander. * The jail released video showing about five inmates clapping as accused cop killer Shomari Legghette walked into his court hearing on Thursday. * Those inmates were being held in a cell waiting to see a judge when Legghette walked by." -- Shicago... one of America's 3rd World (_@_)-holes.

Online story: "The two Democratic candidates for governor ratcheted up pledges Thursday to back new firearm restrictions after a Florida gunman opened fire at a Florida high school in one of the deadliest school shootings in modern U.S. history. * Stacey Abrams, the former top Democrat in the Georgia House, said the shooting was a reminder that “the opportunity for America to protect lives from gun violence is clear. Let us pray and act swiftly, grieve and fix our broken laws.” * Her opponent, former state Rep. Stacey Evans, said the mass shooting “should shake every American.” -- I tell you what.. I will support, well, at least LISTEN TO/ENTERTAIN, most any of the gun laws DIMocrats want to pass if they will include automatic death sentences for everyone who had a previous violent felon conviction who possesses a gun in commission of any crime, or shoots someone, fatally or not.

From the "well said" department - Online headline/story: "Justice Clarence Thomas says he's 'worn down' with victimhood culture * Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said in a rare public appearance Thursday he’s exhausted with how everyone seems to consider themselves a victim these days. * “At some point, we’re going to be fatigued with everybody being the victim,” Thomas, the second African American to serve on the Supreme Court, said during an on-stage interview at the Library of Congress in Washington. * Thomas, a conservative appointed to the bench in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush, recalled recently being with a young black woman in Kansas who told him, “I’m really tired of having to play the role of being black. I just want to go to school.” * “I just get worn down,” Thomas said. * The justice said his grandfather had a tough life but never considered himself a victim" -- Justice Thomas is spot on... and.. unfortunately, one of the worst proclaimed "victims" sits on the bench with him.. Justice Ginsburg ..

From the "now we know who's waiting for someone to take her away, to the funny farm" department - Online headline: "Oprah says she's waiting to hear from God about 2020 run, after Joy Behar mocked Pence for listening to Jesus" -- Kathy Griffin may just had her prayers answered.. that mainscream media would focus on some other idiot than her.. and she's getting Behar!
---
From the "and the beat goes on and on and on" department - WTVM 9 story: "One man is dead after being shot on Thomas Street in Columbus Thursday night. * The shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. Darnell Jackson, 38, was taken to a hospital by ambulance and pronounced dead at 8:03 p.m. * According to Lt. Greg Touchberry, the shooting is being investigated. There is no description of a suspect as of yet." -- Is someone... anyone, keeping an official tally? I cannot determine whether this is number 6, 7, or 8 so far this year..

Update: The L-E stated it was homicide number 7.. will wait for the Coroner's opinion...
---
L-E headline/story: "Mayor tells the good, bad of leading Columbus for 7 years * I got into this business because I have a super thick skin. I guess it’s genetic." -- Hmm.. hope she started with "the good", but it's obviously she stopped at the "bad" and didn't even get to the "ugly". .. that way, people who had to get back to work wouldn't be late.. but, she nailed herself with the "thick" analogy.. thick skin is not all that is "thick" about her.. it starts with her brain and eyes.. she cannot see past her political ambitions.. I also notice.. unless it's just another bad job of reporting, that she skirted the ugly issues that she hadn't addressed enough during her terms.. starting with the horrible state of our streets, continuing with the state of our future maintenance issues concerning the frivolous spending she initiated on bike trails, swimming pools, T.A.D.s, and dog runs et al.
---
L-E headline: "Hung jury in Upatoi trial asks judge for dictionary" -- Good grief.. maybe it's this jury that needs to be "hung" if it does not bring in a just verdict for Robert Short and the Columbus area..
---
From the "yeah, I'm a victim.. that's the ticket" department - L-E "headLIE"/story: " Man stole guns for drug habit * A burglary suspect accused of stealing six guns from the A-1 Pawn Shop in December allegedly told detectives he did it to support his cocaine habit, according to testimony Friday in Columbus Recorder’s Court" -- Good grief.. he stole the guns because he believes he's a victim.. one of those Justice Thomas talked about.. and does not want to take responsibility for his own life... and feels any Columbus jury will vindicate his actions.
---
L-E headline/story: "FBI says it failed to act on Florida school shooter warning * The FBI received two alarming tips about Nikolas Cruz in the past six months: * But no one at the FBI connected the dots or shared information about Cruz with the agents who might have stopped him before Wednesday, when he killed 17 people at a high school in Parkland, Fla." -- The current FBI received 2 "tips" in the past 6 months? Well how about the Sheriff not arresting anyone in the 3 dozen OTHER trips to the Cruz home starting in 2010 during the administration of Obama/Holder?Lynch, and FBI Directorship of Mueller and Comey?
---
L-E story: "Groundbreakings on new homes jumped 9.7 percent last month to the highest level since October 2016, welcome news for a housing market struggling with a shortage of homes for sale." -- Whatta double dividend from the Trump TAX CUT Bill... more cash flow for builders to build new homes, and more and better paying jobs for Americans wanting to buy homes!
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Bernie Sanders on AR-15s: They’re 'not for hunting. They’re for killing human beings’ -- You know, on the high side, there are an estimated 10,000,000 AR-15 rifles in the US.. less than 1/3rd of one percent of the 300,000,000 plus million guns in the US. Like so much about America that Bernie "DOESN'T KNOW".. guns are one of the lesser subjects he's knowledgeable of.

From the "it's gotten way out of hand" department - Online headline/story: "Russian curler faces scrutiny after doping tests return positive * Curler Alexander Krushelnitskiy tested positive for traces of meldonium, a medicine that increases circulation in the brain and aids with heart failure and chest pain" -- A Curler failing a drug test? Good grief.. wonder if he had Tommy John surgery on his elbow from throwing too many "sliders" and "curves"?

From the "headlines you just can't 'unsee' " department - Online headline: "Sally Field hilariously tries to set her son up with Olympian Adam Rippon" -- And you thought your children think you are embarrassing...
---
L-E headline: "Georgia lawmakers take on taxes, transit, marijuana" -- Hmmm... except for the elimination of the potential "tax windfall" on state income tax receipts caused by people filing federal returns using the new standard deduction, it looks like most Georgians would be better off if the Legislators tackled on the solution to fix this, then go home and leave the rest of the issues alone.
---
From the "DOH!" department - L-E headline: "Fall Line Trace seeing growth in users, and in thieves shattering car windows" -- Good grief.. when you advertise to thieves that people are parking their cars next to a bike trail, they pretty much grasp that the car owners aren't going to have a pocket for their wallets in those spandex outfits.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Donnie is a smart businessman, but one day he has to learn that no one is above the law." -- "Donnie" has dealt, and works within "the laws" all his life.. what this LIV doesn't seem to understand is he.she has allowed Hellary to exist above the law her whole life, and their is no bar for her..
---
L-E headline: "Survivors of deadly Fla. school shooting lash out at Trump" -- What typical liberalism..lash out at the President for something he has no control over.. the sick mind of a product of the liberal education and legal system...on the other hand, these students are learning to cry out to the man that might get things done.. a few Executive Orders addressing the laxity of the Parkland Sheriff's Office and the failures of Obama appointed DOJ/FBI Directors plus the appointments of more conservative judges, and the students will have a future.
