What a perfect end to the NFL season.. didn't watch, but see where the NFL season ended the way it started... the one possible redeeming aspect ended with a Brady fumble rather than starting with a pre-game fumble. While the players didn't "take a knee", the NFL still bent over and "took it".

From the "gimmee a break.. is this REALLY "news fit to print"?" department - Online headline/story: "Winter Olympic athletes to be provided with 110,000 condoms * With 2,925 men and women set to participate, it averages out to nearly 38 condoms per athlete over the two-week period — though the sheaths will also be available to members of the press and staff. 38 per athlete is skewed since (based on teams from the USA and Canada) about 45% of the Olympic athletes are women, so there are probably only about 1,600 males, then there are really about 69 condoms per male Olympic athlete.. or about 5 per day for 2 weeks.. Whew.. looks like the largest participant sport at the Olympics will not even be telecast... well, I hope not... seems the FCC pretty much allows everything nowadays.

The outside temp at the Super Bowl in Minnesota ... about 3 degrees above zero... the temperature in my living room FOR the Super Bowl will be colder than that!

The fastest growing City in Georgia over the 5 year period of 2011-2016 is Savannah with a 7.9% spurt..and 23,800 jobs added during that time. Georgia, overall, experienced 5.1% growth. Hmmm, hey Columbus Mayor Tom-LYING-son.. are you proud our negative growth figures?

Has anyone heard why there wasn't a security vehicle at the crossings along the path of the AMTRAK train carrying the Republican leadership to the Greenbrier Resort Tuesday a week ago? What are the odds a garbage truck would be stuck on the rails at that point in time?
---
From the "gender biased" department - Online headline: "Some sex offenders could opt for chemical castration under Oklahoma bill" -- Good grief.. how about using a guillotine for male predators and super glue for female predators ..

The FISA memo released has not destroyed the FBI. Political manipulation of the FBI leaders, and their willingness to be a part of such, are the culprits.

Did you notice how mainscream media "noticed" the drop in the DOW? Funny..mainscream media seemed not to know about the DOW when it was rising about 8,000 points since Trump won..Funnier still is mainscream media doesn't recognize how the stock market reacts to good news in a negative manner because of programmed selling triggers that all MBAs build into their patterns of buying/selling.

From the "subjects never brought up at Mayor Tom-LYING-son's "Let's Talk" meetings" department - Online L-E headline/story : "MUSCOGEE COUNTY JAIL * Where did the money go for new county jail? * In 2009, Columbus voters approved a one cent sales tax to fund public safety projects, including the construction of a new Muscogee County Jail to help house the growing inmate population. * Last year, Mayor Teresa Tomlinson told members of the Mayor’s Commission on the Government Center and Judicial Building that about $33 million of OLOST funds had been slated for jail expansion. But the money was not needed at the time because the jail population had decreased, and she wondered if that money could be used to build a judicial center instead. * When asked if the OLOST money is still needed for jail expansion, Tomlinson said: “... The prior sheriff (John Darr) has depleted almost all of that because he used it for budget overruns" -- Hey Mayor.. are you inventing a new political game.. Like "Kick the can", but your adaptation is ":Kick the MAN", but it boils down to your, yes you, Mayor, not using the PUBLIC SAFETY LOST revenues in a manner that makes the City safer under your watch.
Of course, the Mayor's had no problem with spending money on a budget-breaker natatorium, and roundabouts, and practice ice rinks, and dog runs, and bicycle paths and other whims she 'feels".
One more thing, Columbus citizens, who among us feels or thinks that the condition of the roads in front of your homes enhances the value of your homes?
Oh.. we have a lot of Councilors who have been around the whole time that have been pretty much mute on this.. do we want one to follow Mayor Tom-LYING-son?

Hey, another campaign issue for incumbents and challengers alike is what to do about the contract for property tax millage for Columbus Regional since it has been bought by an Atlanta Hospital group? Surely the local taxpayers are not going to know that their tax dollars are going to be spent solely in Columbus?

From the "conflicted issue" department - L-E headline/story: "AMAZON HEADQUARTERS * Some are telling Amazon to stay away from Georgia * Amazon has always been a great ally for LGBTQ issues, and we hope this gives them a chance to be a leader * “Why would Amazon even consider putting HQ2 in a state that discriminates against LGBT people?” * “Georgia has been very clear when it comes to vetoing hostile religious exemption measures that discriminate against the LGBT community,” Jeff Graham, executive director of Georgia Equality * GEORGIA OFFERS NO STATEWIDE LEGAL PROTECTION AGAINST EMPLOYEE DISCRIMINATION FOR LGBT PEOPLE." -- Here we go again.. mainscream media/L-E implying that "some" is an important and vast number.. neither Amazon nor GA has an intolerance of the LGBTQ community, but neither Amazon nor GA feels that specifying any group of people be given special rights/protection over any OTHER group is what America is about.. The only intolerance is in this story is that of LGBT spokesman Jeff Graham being intolerant of everybody else.

L-E commentary headline: "COMMENTARY * Lottery winners deserve privacy * Privacy.. yes.. but not anonymity.. Anonymity presents too many opportunities for fraud.. Heck, with anonymity, Chuck could have been given a $1,000,000.00 lottery ticket to write this position, and the public would not know it... and Chuck cannot even prove he wasn't given one to be cashed in at a later date.

Best Buy has endorsed the Trump Tax Cut...$1,000.00 bonuses for 100,000 people...that's another $100 MILLION back.into consumer pockets to spend!

From the "DIMocrats just do not WANT to get it" department - Online headline: "Cory Booker Accuses Trump Of Using “Patriotism” To “Divide” America" -- You got me.. I'll admit it.. my desire to Make America Great Again is fueled by my love of God and country and my fellow man, and... my desire to know my children and grand children will have the same great love of all to pass along.. I cannot speak for socialistic politicians, but I hope everyone wakes up and realizes that we.. us "stand up and be counted FOR America, all benefit when we work together.
---
Inspirational... and timely quote: " “Surround yourself with good people. People who are going to be honest with you and look out for your best interests.”― Derek Jeter " -- Now this is the message Trump, not the DIMocrats, is sending.
---
I do hope the Intel Committee sends the "DIMocrat response" to the FISA Memo so Trump will release it.. I'll be just "the straw that breaks the Jackass's back".

In a L-E story, Deputy City Manager Lisa Goodwin commented on the deterioration of City facilities, and said this, "“It’s easy to build; the hard part is maintaining,”, brings up a point I have made several times without response from any existing City Councilor, the Mayor, or the spokesperson of Together-2017 organization.. My question was: "Who is going to pay for routine maintenance and replacement of equipment at the donated Exercise Park to be built at Rotary Park?
---
L-E headline/story: "LEDGER INQUIRER * New sidewalks on Second Avenue no help for crumbling roadway * Some motorists who use Second Avenue to commute downtown are not happy about the new concrete sidewalks along the major corridor while dodging cracks and pot holes on the busy four-lane road. * A reader said the Columbus Consolidated Government could spend its money more wisely on new asphalt for the crumbling roadway instead of new sidewalks." -- I really cannot remember all the times I've suggested to the Council and Mayor, that unless they ban the quarry filled heavy dump trucks traveling south on 2nd Avenue, 2nd Avenue will forever be a nightmare. Beginning at 32nd Street (possibly even further north) the 2nd Avenue is basically asphalt layered on top of a brick road bed of earlier Columbus, so there is no bonding.. This is why 2nd Avenue is constantly in such poor repair. The brick road bed does need to be ripped out and a proper material put in, but until then, keeping those heavy dump trucks off will help keep 2nd Avenue safer for other vehicles.
---
L-E headline/story: "Georgia incarcerating fewer African-Americans in its prisons * While prison admissions have dropped nearly 19 percent in the past eight years, the incarceration of black inmates fell by 30 percent, according to records from the Georgia Department of Corrections." -- Regardless of color, the 19% drop in incarcerations is only good news if the drop in crime rates equal or are higher than 19%. Running this story without mention the actually crime rates during this period is pathetic.
---
Yesterday, I asked a highly placed member of the crime prosecuting community in Columbus if there was any indication of what the plea bargain deals were with the two brutal killers who bludgeon members of 3 generations in one family two years ago.. the answer was disappointing, at best.. death isn't possible because of their ages, but no information is "floating about", and the probable sentences are 3 consecutive life sentences, but that they would probably be eligible for parole in 60 years. This is another "court fail"! The public needs to KNOW that there are not possible technical issues that will allow these "animals" to ever get back on the streets.
---
L-E "headlie": "Early gauge of 2018 turnout shows good signs for Democrats * BY SCOTT CLEMENT * Washington Post" -- DIMocrats have nothing left in their arsenal.. it was apparent during the State of the Union speech 2 weeks ago, ans all the "hopin' 'n wishin'" ain't gonna help after 10 months of the Republican TAX CUT bill has re-educated the Independent voters on which party really has their interests.. and success, in mind.

From the "wait a minute" department - L-E headline/story: "Congressman visits El Salvador to meet deported man * U.S. Rep. Al Green still calls Jose Escobar one of his constituents, even though Escobar was deported after what he thought would be a routine check-in with immigration authorities. * That’s why Green, a Houston Democrat, flew to El Salvador on Saturday to meet with Escobar in the hopes it will call attention to the plight of families separated by deportation. Another 200,000 people could be forced to return there because President Donald Trump’s administration announced it would end a temporary visa program for Salvadorans. * Green and Escobar met in a small room at the airport in San Salvador, El Salvador’s capital. * They were accompanied by Jose’s wife, Rose Escobar, who has remained in Texas with the couple’s two children, as well as an off-duty Houston police officer whose airfare was paid for by Green." -- "paid for by Green"? Excuse me.. "paid for by Green"... OK, but from what funding? Did we taxpayers pay for this or did he illegally use campaign funds, or did he actually reach into his own wallet? Inquiring minds want.. DESERVE... to know!
---
From the "wishing it.. even saying it.. don't make it so" department - L-E headline/story: "Not just boy and girl; more teens identify as transgender * Far more U.S. teens than previously thought are transgender or identify themselves using other nontraditional gender terms, with many rejecting the idea that girl and boy are the only options, new research suggests. * The study looked at students in ninth and 11th grade and estimated that nearly 3 percent are trans-gender or gender nonconforming, meaning they don’t always self-identify as the sex they were assigned at birth. That includes kids who refer to themselves using neutral pronouns like “them” instead of “he” or “she.”" -- Hmmm looks like not only has the Education Department failed our kids in Sex Ed, but also in English.. "them" is not acceptable to refer to singular gender uses ("it" is proper)... more pathetically is that mainscream media is trying to make ambiguous words like "some" and "more" indicate a powerful number.

L-E headline: "Trump offers praise for US service members" -- Hmmm... now this is what I want to see the "DIMocrat Response".
