From the "isn't it nice to have honesty/transparency back in the White House!" department - Online headline/story: "Trump sees 'BOMBSHELLS' in FBI texts about Clinton email probe * President Trump turned his Twitter attention on Wednesday to newly released 2016 text messages between a pair of FBI agents that suggest President Obama wanted “to know everything we’re doing. * In one exchange dated Sept. 2, 2016, Strzok and Page discussed drafting talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey, apparently intended for Comey to brief Obama, who “wants to know everything we’re doing.” * However, it’s unclear whether Obama’s purported interest was in the FBI’s investigation of Clinton — or in the Trump campaign. The FBI did not reopen its investigation of Clinton’s emails until later that month. The FBI did, however, have an active counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia at that time.” -- "unclear whether Obama's ..interest...was... Clinton - or Trump"? To quote Hellary.. "What difference at this point does it make?" When underlings feel they are charged with reporting something to their Director pertaining to any candidates so he can pass it on to POTUS, then every citizen should be alarmed .. and up-in-arms! Going to finish with another Hellary quote, "What Happened!"

Wow.. shine the light on politicians running for re-election, and they scurry about to answer questions.. Skip Henderson acknowledge... weakly.. my interest in knowing about the River Road roundabout, but, has to get back with me on the projected costs/finish dates I "feel" he should be pretty much on-top-of. and Judy Thomas passed the buck off on GA as too the bad condition of 2nd Avenue.. I then asked her at what points does GA consider 2nd Ave a state highway (GA 85), and surely 2nd Avenue in downtown Columbus cannot be under the primary care/jurisdiction of GA. Still waiting for those 2 aspects.

From the "when is the truth the whole truth in mainscream media land" department - Online headline/story: "Democrat wins special election in Trump heartland Missouri * Democrats won a Missouri special election on Tuesday for a state house seat in a district that President Donald Trump won in a landslide victory during the presidential election. * However, Republicans easily won three other state house seats in Missouri on Tuesday and still have a super majority, the ability to override a governor's veto - in the chamber." -- Looks to me that the TRUMP Train won 75% of the 4 races, yet mainscream media is excited over winning one ...
---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Nancy Pelosi sets record for longest continuous speech in House history * The Democrat spoke for more than eight hours (actually, 8 hours/5 minutes)on the House floor Wednesday, adamant that she would not support any long-term budget deal without a commitment from House Speaker Paul Ryan to allow a chamber vote on protecting young undocumented immigrants. In the process, Pelosi set the record for the longest continuous speech in House history." -- Two things.. 1st - when has anyone spoken so long and gotten nothing done, and 2nd - Wasn't Pelosi adamant about removing "torture" from the investigative process of terrorists at GITMO? What's amazing is that what she took 8:05 to say could have been said in 1 word, "No" when a vote was called.
8 hours and 5 minutes.. not only was that a record for talking in the House, but probably a record for not taking a restroom break for a woman her age.. hmmm.. "depends"?
Remember Winston Churchill's inspired speech when he said, "Never was so much owed by so many to so few"? If Churchill was alive today, and a contributor to Fox News, I'll bet Churchill would have described Pelosi's rant as, "Never has so much been said by one person that accomplished so little".. and he might add, "Pelosi owes the taxpayers 8 hours and 5 minutes of Congressional salaries/expenses every member of the House who sat through her tirade and got nothing else done.

From the "what happens when Hollywooders get into politics" department - Online headline/story: "'Law & Order: SVU' actress Diane Neal is running for Congress * Diane Neal, 42, announced on Tuesday that she is running for the 19th Congressional District seat as an independent in New York. * "I'm a little Libertarian, I'm a lot liberal, mostly progressive, but I have this amazing ability to be able to take really complicated policy and break it down into edible sound bites, which is something most progressive liberals cannot do." -- "progressive liberals"? I do believe the ultimate oxymoron has been coined..and or her to "feel" libertarians and liberals mesh is such a joke.. one thinks and the other feels.. libertarians want government out of our lives, and liberals want government running our lives..sorta like oil and vinegar.. they sorta mix when you shaken up on a common goal, but as soon as the shaking stops, they quickly separate again.

Online headline/story: "Illegal immigrant charged with 4 felonies in crash that killed Colts LB Jackson * He was charged with two counts of causing death while operating a vehicle above the legal alcohol limit and two counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident." -- Where're the charges for leaving a country south of our border to illegally enter America... three times! On top of the current charges, doesn't being arrested a 3rd time mandate him being charged as a habitual offender?
---
Online story: "Used to be, police officers relied on training, intuition, some contacts in the underworld and their partner to take that bite outta crime. But in New York City, they just got a new tool; Apple iPhones. The NYPD is handing out iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets to the men and women on the beat, to the tune of about 36,000 handsets. " -- Hmmm.. since iPhone 8 and iPhone X are out, is this the best the NYPD gets... can't wait to hear how Apple responds when a NYPD officer's iPhone suffers from slowed down service from Apple..

The Columbus L-E should...well...could be a better citizen by keeping us posted on how each of our local legislators votes on each bill brought up for vote... but the L-E won't..

Online headline/story: "NBC to welcome Olympic sponsors in Wyoming, not South Korea * Instead of Pyeongchang, South Korea, site of the Winter Games that begin Friday, the VIPs will be welcomed in Jackson Hole, Wyo. — about 5,730 miles away, the Denver Post reported. * NBC cited a lack of hotel rooms near the Olympic site, the report said. The network told the paper that its decision was not based on political tensions on the Korean Peninsula sparked by the North’s nuclear weapons program." -- "decision not based on political tensions"? Aside from the fact NBC had to mention that the "decision not based on political tensions" basically says it was,, guess NBC officials determined Jackson Hole was outside Kim Jong Oooops's nuclear missile range...

Online story: "At least half of the suspects apprehended in a major drug bust last month in Cincinnati were reportedly in the United States illegally, Laura Ingraham said Wednesday night. * Federal authorities say Armando Reyes-Cortez, Annel Reyes-Valdes and Armando Gonzalez-Rosas -- all reportedly undocumented immigrants -- were part of a large heroin trafficking operation in the Cincinnati area, engaging in a conspiracy to possess and distribute more than 1,000 grams of heroin. * Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones told Ingraham that this was the fourth big drug bust in the area. * "They had thousands of hits of heroin, cocaine, guns ... thousands of dollars," Jones said, adding that drugs are "destroying" the community." -- Build the WALL!
---
Why is it that mainscream media is against building "the Wall"? Does not mainsceam media realize that the government must do its best to protect all American citizens of all the rights guaranteed in the US Constitution?
---
Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell need to unite and declare that John McCrap of Arizona is no longer affiliated with the Republican Party, nor a part of Making America Great Again.
---
There was a Facebook posting on the possibility of a new government center with the possibility of it being named for a female lawyer currently involved.. I guess naming it the "Tom-LYING-son" building is out of the question since we;d have to live with that until a future Mayor wants to tear it down and build one of his/her own, but how about we name it "Lady FIBerty"?
---
I haven't seen it discussed about whether the current Continuing Resolution Bill specifically contains funding for "the Wall", but if it doesn't, Trump should veto it. Now, there is extra money in the Defense budget, and building :the Wall" is definitely a needed aspect of defending our country..

There's one question never answered satisfactorily about the death of Mary Jo Kopechne who drowned inside Ted Kennedy's car after he drive it into that pond back in 1969.. how did Kennedy get out but Kopechne couldn't? I think the records of J. Edgar Hoover need to be re-examined..

Since some of the current City officials running for re-election are suddenly responding to inquiries, let's hear then discuss how the Hospital Authority was given bond authority to buy an Event Center, and what the City will do with the contract with Columbus Regional that locks in 3 mils of property tax revenues to go for local indigent care since now Columbus Regional Healthcare will become part of an Atlanta hospital?
---
A well and succinctly stated L-E "soundoff": "Cooper Creek path has been in disrepair for 6 years. Time something was done about it. If you are not handicapped when you start walking the trail, you will be when you finish." -- The Cooper Creek path seems to be suffering from unrepaired potholes like the streets of Columbus.. wonder how long it will be before the Dragonfly Bike Trail will suffer the same fate... and I guess Mayor Tom-LYING-son's high speed train see what is in store in its future.
---
L-E story: "Marcus Dermer’s girlfriend saved his future.

Had he not spent the evening with her and her family on Jan. 3, 2016, he might have gone along with Jervarceay Tapley’s plan to “do a lick” or commit a crime on Bentley Drive, just like his friends Rufus Burks and Raheam Gibson. * Had he gone with them, Dermer also would be facing life in prison for the brutal slayings of Gloria Short, 54; her son Caleb Short, 17; and granddaughter Gianna Lindsey, 10. * The next day, the three victims were found bludgeoned with a 20-pound dumbbell. Gloria Short and Gianna also were stabbed, investigators said." -- The biggest crime in this situation is that Robert Short will die without seeing the deaths of the three who schemed and carried out this animal behavior. It's not justice when the family of the victims don't get closure on such a heinous crime.
---
L-E headline: "Car now flying toward asteroid belt beyond Mars" -- I have a name for Musk's Tesla vehicle if it ever goes into an orbit.. It should be called the "Lady FIBerty" in honor of Columbus's Mayor who has such a penchant for "roundabouts".
---
Hopefully I will get an answer today, but no one in the MCSD or MCSB seems interested in discussing the wrestling room authorized at Columbus High during the 2015 SPLOST referendum.. I haven't been able to ascertain anything other than it won't be built on property not already under MCSD ownership, yet no one will discuss any possible CHS campus sites that suitable.
---
L-E story: "An alleged gang member was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon during a traffic stop near Cusseta Road, authorities said." -- Hmmm... does this mean that the L-E has stopped believing Mayor Tom-LYING-son's claims that we don't have a gang problem in Columbus?
