The local elections are over... the parents of Columbus said they are happy... maybe ecstatic, over the progress their children are making in school.. the citizens of Columbus said they were happy with local government "as is". The votes cast for candidates was swamped by the number of voters who didn't bother to vote... well under half "spoke", the silent majority was derelict to their community and the future of our City and School System... they basically failed to protect their Constitutional right of free speech.

---
The election has passed (except for a runoff in 1 or 2).. now let's remember..to the winners of the MCSB seats, your first concerns are to the students and taxpayers..not the whims of the Superintendent.. Establish your leadership and what's truly important will happen.
To the new Council..keep the needs of the whole City, not just your district as your focus...vote as if you're not campaigning for re-election in 2 to 4 years. Voters will return you if the City is prospering.

---
There was justice and injustices last night... justice was that Zeph Baker's attempt to hijack the election WAS overwhelmingly turned back.. the injustices were that students in our school system saw no one is listening to their needs... but the worst injustice was that Columbus turned it's back on Tollie Strode. Jr...I was personally offended.. pretty much devastated, that a man like Tollie Strode, Jr, who has proven his value and worthiness in prior voluntary service, wasn't embraced by every homeowner who voted (or didn't)..Columbus lost the energy and dedication of a man who loves Columbus...

L-E headline: "2018 GEORGIA PRIMARY ELECTIONS GOVERNOR’S RACE * Democrat Abrams makes history; GOP runoff likely" -- What does the L-E mean.. "Democrat Abrams makes history".. The DIMs still couldn't muster as many voters to turn out as the Republicans did.

---
While local results aren't in..it's more than obvious Columbus voters are conflicted.. they don't like what's gone on in the past, but won't elect changes for the future. We see this in Council and School Board results, but when Columbus voters don't embrace.. support.. one of its own to win a statewide race... we've got some soul-searching to do before Columbus's liberal aspect gets any respect in the GA Legislature.

From the "did Robert Earl Bolden really exist" department - L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS * 2nd cousin acquitted in homicide * Now that juries in separate murder trials have acquitted two Cusseta cousins who blamed each other for Robert Earl Bolden’s homicide, no one’s left to try in the Nov. 5, 2014, fatal shooting in the Oakland Park neighborhood." -- Talk about another JURY FAIL...Two different juries listened to two different cousins blame the other, and yet both juries found neither to blame for the death of Robert Earl Bolden. Our crime problems are not limited to the streets... or felons..felons cannot serve on juries.

From the "while it's not Russian election influence" department - L-E story: "A significant business partner of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, has quietly agreed to cooperate with the government as a potential witness, a development that could be used as leverage to pressure Cohen to work with the special counsel examining Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. * Under the agreement, the partner, Evgeny Freidman, a Russian immigrant known as the Taxi King, will avoid jail time and will assist government prosecutors in state or federal investigations, according to a person briefed on the matter." Good grief... Robert Mueller cannot find Russian influence in the election, he embraces Russian influence in his obsession with Trump..pitiful...

Wow.. the MCSD wants to ramp up security... sadly, the MCSD wants to spend more money rebuilding two existing campus baseball fields for $7.2 MILLION, and a close amount on metal-on-slab wrestling and cheerleader practice facilities. And to think the voters agree with them.... smh...

Did I miss the L-E announcement that Dusty Nix was retiring? Learned yesterday that he has.. Guess it proves that I was truthful in saying I'd stopped reading his aspects of what Columbus should be...

From the "well, it's about time!" department - Online story: "John Kerry’s legacy is permanently damaged because of his association and employment with the Obama administration. There have always been questions regarding the work he has done, especially in reference to the Iran Deal which he helped author and was terrible for the American people. Now, members of Congress have found him responsible for even worse crimes and it is all coming apart at the seams. * Devin Nunes, Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, is calling for Kerry, the former Secretary of State to be arrested for Logan Act violations. A 1799 law that to this day nobody has been arrested or charged with." -- Dang our Founding Fathers really were visionaries. Who knew that one of their insights would first be used to shine the light of truth on John Kerry over 200 years later.

I've signed a petition to help "Hilton" help itself.. but after seeing the election results for Council and the MCSB, it seems obvious "Hilton" didn't try to help itself. At this point, the only true beef I share with "Hilton" is how the high-density project is how it will affect my driving at that intersection with Wynnton Road..

Warning about those ads about trading "crypto-currency".. they promise to teach you what you need to trade them...but not what you need to know to be successful..same with gold traders...they'll teach you how, .but not teach you everything they know.

From the taking the motto, "Be Prepared" a little too far" department - Online story: "The Boy Scouts have decided to accept people who identify as gay and lesbian among their ranks. And girls are welcome now, too, into the iconic organization, which has renamed itself Scouts BSA. * So what’s next? * A mandate that condoms be made available to “all participants” of its global gathering. * It’s among the demands of the World Scout Committee for any host country of a World Scout Jamboree." -- Good grief... how does the dad of a girl wanting to attend the Scouting Jamboree explain to his daughter how to use condoms so she can be "prepared" for sleeping with boys for a week? You know.. the Boy Scouts administrators of the past were not prepared for what Scouts has become.. the people who the Boy Scouts board should have sent condoms to are the parents of the current Scouts administration..

Another interest aspect is when will the Girl Scouts drop "Girls"? Now it sounds sorta discriminatory ....

Online headline/story: "There’s a Sinkhole at the White House. Blame the Swamp. (Really.) * The North Lawn of the White House in April. On Sunday, a sinkhole was found on the lawn, near the entrance to the press briefing room." -- Hmmm... obviously mainscream media has won out the sewer system...

Columbus area Emergency! - restaurateur deluxe Mark Jones was in a car accident and his motor skills are threatened.. Pray for Mark, his family, his doctors, and his family of business partners...

We talked a bit about the US Supreme Court decision to protect employers better from class-action suits by disgruntled employees.. and how such can cripple a company and the employment status of all it's happy employees.. You know.. class action suits are not for the benefit of "the victims".. but for the legal team.. I've gotten a number of "settlement checks" for various class action suits filed against companies I also invest in, and the largest check I've ever received was less than $3.00. What would really curtail nuisance class action suits would be for the courts to only allow the filing lawyers the same amount of payment as the average "victim" receives.

From the "obviously the old school DIMocrats still aren't reading" department - Online headline/story: "Fighter pilot McGrath wins Kentucky House primary * A political newcomer knocked off Lexington Mayor Jim Gray -- a prized Democratic recruit and major figure in Kentucky politics -- in a primary for a US House seat Tuesday. * Amy McGrath, a retired Marine fighter pilot, won the Lexington-area 6th District contest and is now poised to take on Republican Rep. Andy Barr in a red-leaning district that Democrats hope will shift in their favor in November's midterm elections." -- "a red-leaning" DIMocrat? Looks like the left has fallen completely over... Pelosi asked DIMocrats not to read the OObamaCRAP bill, and now it looks like she hasn't read the results of the 2016 election results...the DIM voters want their "red" to be the blood of the country...

Online story: "The NFL and its Players Coalition officially established a partnership to commit at least $90 million for efforts and programs combating social inequality." -- Good grief.. this is not going to affect me as I've sworn off even watching.. much less attending NFL games... but how much more will the fans who actually go be willing to endure in the already outlandish concession and ticket prices?

Tonya Harding was eliminated from "Dancing With The Stars".. hmmm... guess all the other women wore shin guards whenever she or her entourage were around...
