From the "well, it woulda been some kind of poetic justice" department - Online headline/story: "Florida Police Officer Suggests David Hogg Get Hit by Car After Latest NRA Protests at Publix Stores * A Florida police officer is facing mounting backlash over a Facebook comment in which he seemingly wished violence upon Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg and other young gun control activists. The now-deleted post was in response to "die in" protests held Friday in the parking lot of giant supermarket chain Publix, which previously made large donations to the political campaigns of National Rifle Association supporters. * "Hope some old lady loses control of her car in that lot. Jus saying…..” Coconut Creek police officer Brian Valenti allegedly wrote on the Coral Springs/Parkland Facebook page, according to screenshots obtained by The Sun-Sentinel. * The comment was posted under a picture of Hogg and two other #NeverAgain activists standing in the parking area of a Coral Springs Publix store, where they had just finished painting body outlines in chalk to represent the 17 people killed in February " -- "Hope some old lady loses control of her car in that lot. Jus saying…..”? --- Hmmm... all this over what could have been a couple of "t-typos" He could have meant CAR(T) as evidence by his omission of the "t" to finish the word "Jus(t)".. but aside from this, does Hogg have 1st Amendment Rights and police officers do not?

From the "Thanks, David Hogg" department - Online headline/story: "Backfire: When Publix suspended political donations that included Democrats * Thanks to David Hogg, candidates who support the National Rifle Association won’t receive campaign donations from Publix — for now — but neither will NRA critics like Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep. John Lewis. * While Publix tilts decidedly right in its political giving, the supermarket giant has also donated more than $760,000 since 2008 to Democratic committees, including at least two dozen candidates for federal office at odds with the NRA. * They include multiple members of the Black Congressional Caucus, former Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Sens. Michael Bennet of Colorado, Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Patty Murray of Washington, Bill Nelson of Florida, and Ron Wyden of Oregon" -- Isn't the collapse of the "political correctness" syndrome awesome..now people can cut the string with DIMocrats as well.

One of our fellow BCers suggests a new name for the pedestrian/bicycle traffic bridge over Victory Drive.. he suggests the "Wait on Me" rather than the "Follow Me" Trail due to the interminable delays.. He sent pics of the construction site's eyesore 'bases", but I do have a question... no, more of a "CONCERN"... Will the actual bridge portion be one of those pre-fab, drop-in types like the one that collapsed on cars down in Florida?

Who wants to hear what Marco Rubio says on anything anymore? He's become nothing more than clanging cymbal in the same vein as Pelosi, Schumer, Graham or McCain.

You know, if you choose, you can still buy, OObamaCRAP Healthcare, but if you're smart, you can shop insurance policies that cover only what you want it to cover... and you won't get fined!

On a local issue.. we have a couple of runoffs looming ahead... Council Post 10 between John House and Amy Bryan, and MCSB Post 2 between Mike Edmondson and Bart Steed. For Council Post 10, it's a matter of right vs wrong.. John House is my choice as I still think a Chamber employee that's paid with tax funds should not be able to run for a government office without resigning. This thought carries over to th race in MCSB District 2 as well, Edmondson did work within the MCSD but resigned to run for office, while Bart Steed is still under an open-ended MCSD contract for $165,000.00. I do not understand how Steed was even allowed to qualify holding that contract.. I'm voting for Edmondson in this one.

Surprise, surprise, surprise... NOT! It's been 8 days now that Zeph Baker has not delivered his campaign donation/expenditure documents as due... and as promised.

You know, if the NFL Players Association and Owners really think the kneeling during the National Anthem is appropriate, then why weren't they present and kneeling during the laying of the wreathe at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers?

You know. The GA Lottery funded "Hope Scholarships" should have a 'string attached"..that the money should not be available if a student must take remedial math or English to qualify for admission...It's obvious the student's real grades were not high enough to qualify.
Obviously, the world is waking up...

Obama went on an Apology Tour bemoaning America's "past", while Trump has told the world that America will not apologize for thinking America First!

From "there is something missing in this story" department - L-E headline: "Authors: Memorial Day was founded in Columbus, Ga., 150 years ago" -- 152 years ago, actually.. but who's counting... I thought is was strange that there is no mention of the 1898 book (I have a copy) written about the Memorial Day history, nor the historical marker at the corner of 2nd Ave and 11th Street (on St Luke Church's right-of-way) concerning the 1st Memorial Day.

Online headline: "US forecasters say 2018 hurricane season may be above normal" -- Good grief.. "may be above normal"? At this point, with no hurricanes to report, this headline would be more accurate if it read, "US forecasters say 2018 hurricane season may be BELOW normal" but this would neither fit the AGENDA of mainscream media nor the agenda of this news service to attract readers.

From the "government gender confusion" department - Online headline/story: " Girl dens blaze fresh trail into Boy Scouts of America * On a frontline of the gender equality battle in the United States is Den 13, a suburban Virginia Cub Scout unit made up of girls on their way to next year becoming the first female Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America." -- Good grief...What's next Cub Scout cookies?

From the "comparing honey crisp apples to crab apples" department - Online headline/story: "Ivanka Trump faces backlash after posting photo of her toddler son * The mom-of-three posted a photo to Twitter showing her cuddling her 2-year-old son, Theodore, on Sunday with the caption: "My <3 --="" 2="" 3="" again...that="" agents="" allows="" ambiguous="" as="" away="" border="" but="" called="" children="" div="" enacted="" entered="" far="" go="" here="" illegally.="" in="" insensitive="" journalists...="" left="" liberals="" light="" mainly="" number="" of="" or="" people="" policy="" posing="" post="" recently="" security="" some="" take="" the="" to="" tolerance="" u.s.="" undaymorning.="" we="" which="" who="" yeah="" zero="">

You know.. not one MCSB member responded to the fact that they will be spending more money on each of two protects (revamping 2 high school baseball fields and 8 metal-on-slab utility buildings) than they will spend on the upgraded school security program.. they should feel ashamed ...

Think about this.. the Japanese could have sent troops through Mexico during WWII to cross over our unprotected Southern border... but they didn't.. why.. because the Japaneses were concerned about so many American citizens owning their own guns..

The L-E has a copy of the next year's budget proposal today..
It's nice and convenient for outgoing mayor Tom-LYING-son... there was a L-E article a few days ago showing the 1% LOST taxes bring in only about $33.5 Million each (about $67 MILLION combined) and yet Tom-LYING-son is projecting $71.2 Million in addition to tapping in another $1.5 Million from our Fund Balance... and no one will own up to the costs of the River Road roundabout.. Hope this Council puts a "stop" on Tom-LYING-son's swan song... Unfortunately, Columbus voters did not make their voices known loud enough.
