Due to his loose cannon remarks, I am withdrawing my support of Tony McCool for Post 9 at large in the MCSB race... this is one of the reasons I do not vote before THE actual election date. I still have some reserve about returning Kia Chambers because of her split interests between private and public schools, and her business interests with possible T.A.D. conflicts as a member of a taxing authority, but I will be voting for Kia Chambers on Tuesday for MCSB Post 9 At-Large.

I'm offended by Mike Williams' attempted humor of a "deportation bus" concerning an important but sensitive issue. Republicans and conservative independents alike should shun him.. I do hope he does not get voter support like the DIMocrats poured on Lester Maddox for GA Governor in 1966 for his flagrant and offensive use of his infamous axe handles.. a.k.a. the"Pickwick Drumstick" as DIMocrats rallied behind and elected him on his segregationist platform...

Remember when all our Councilors (except Bruce Huff), and Mayor Tom-LYING-son fought so hard to throw out our Tax Freeze? This is why we need to elect Tollie Strode in Post 10 to compliment Charmaine Crabb who will be the next Councilor for Post 5. Along with Mary Sue Polleys, these two spearhead the "Keep the Freeze" movement that saw 62% of Columbus voters respond to positive leadership and protect our homes. I mention this because of the following Online 'Chicago Sun Times' headline/story: "Property tax hikes shock some North Side homeowners * A week or so ago, retired Chicago Public Schools teacher Josephine Sennet received a letter from the Cook County assessor’s office, and what she read inside floored her. * In the space of a year, the estimated market value of her home in the Lakewood Balmoral neighborhood had shot up about 51 percent, likely meaning a huge increase in future property taxes. Reactions have been similar across this North Side enclave of handsome, historic homes. * “I haven’t added on anything,” said Sennet, 78, who has lived in her home since 1972. “I don’t have a grand, glorious kitchen. All the bathroom fixtures are what came with the house.” -- Our freeze has been a boon to the development of Columbus.. with it, homeowners have been able to maintain their homes' values.. with it, and the non-variable tax levels, Columbus has weathered the economic disaster when the housing bubble burst as Columbus could count on the constant taxes paid by homeowners even during this time. Voters... do not forget this, and reward Councilors/non-Chamber-of-Commerce candidates who are looking at the big picture rather than a way to dig deeper into your pockets. Let's make sure we get Tollie Strode on our Council in Post 10 At Large..

From the "A Tale of Two Cities" department -- Here's another list... 2 actually..one is of the fastest growing cities in the US.. Number 21 is Auburn-Opelika, AL growing at a 14.8% pace since 2010. The other is a list of the fastest shrinking cities..and Albany, GA is the 14th fastest shrinking city having lost 3.9% of it's population over the same period. Hey, Congressman Bishop, how do you keep getting re-elected?

Online headline: "'FBI plant' in Trump campaign was Cambridge professor, reports say" -- You know, if the FBI cannot... does not... name "moles" it has put in EVERY DIMocrat and Republican Campaign since it's existence then the FBI Administration working when Obama left office should be canned immediately! No ifs, ands, or 'bugs'.

L-E headline: "2018 ELECTIONS * Candidates for mayor, council weigh in on crime" -- You know.. while those who did not respond should be embarrassed.. none of the answers touched on the "elephant" in the room... Let's face it.. we have too many "jury fails" in Columbus.. when juries won't convict criminals on the major charges, then criminals get back out on the street quicker..Lawyers have figured out that they shouldn't enter into "plea bargains" until after a jury is picked and the lawyers know whether the jury can be made sympathetic enough to come back with an unwarranted acquittal, hung h=jury, or reduced severity. I heard of a crime involving an Easter morning shooting death that was unceremoniously "closed" recently following the deaths of the two men involved in the original killing.. One died in another "street death", and the second died in a police confrontation. Our whole community was at risk during this time with the second two men being on the streets. Also, concentrating police coverage only in high crime areas just tells criminals that "the pickings" will be better in another part of town, and no police will be in the vicinity... More planning and understanding of the criminal mind is necessary.
Oh... and the 2 officers who took out the second killer were taken off the streets and placed on "leave".. criminals cheer!

Correction.. I made a statement that Dr Schley was the MCSB Chair that recruited Dr. Lewis.. I mixed up the dates of Dr Schley's service... my bad... but still think Frank Myers should be returned so MCSB issues will known to the public. Remember, the MCSB still has to address spending $3.6 Million each on 2 different baseball fields, and spending $750,000,00 on metal wrestling buildings that the metal material costs are shown to be bur $38,000.00... and the MCSD wants 6 - to - 8 of them.

L-E editorial endorsements headline: "EDITORIAL * Here are the editorial board’s endorsements for local Tuesday races * Columbus and Muscogee County have a full slate of important local races. Here are the endorsements of our editorial board for mayor, city council and school board" -- Once again, the L-E hows why it's imploding from its own irreverence. I really have to wonder if any L-E employees themselves will support the L-E endorsements.. I even have to question why I support some of the candidates that the L-E "likes"...

From the "more BS (as in Baker Stuff)" department - L-E headline/story: "Mayoral candidate Zeph Baker hides donors, claims they face intimidation * Columbus mayoral candidate Zeph Baker is the only contender out of six who has not filed a campaign disclosure report this year. * According to the Muscogee County Board of Elections and Registrations, he is now facing up to $1,375 in fines this year for missing deadlines to file either a disclosure of his contributions and expenditures, or an affidavit swearing his campaign does not intend to receive or spend at least $2,500 this year. * Baker said he won’t reveal his contributions because his supporters could be “bullied” were he to identify them in a public record." -- "BS"? No... ABSOLUTE BS! (Unless he's financed by terrorist groups)...I remember talking with Zeph prior to finding out the truth about his personal life and residency issues, and his recent replacement driver's license... he was an advocate of honesty and transparency.. those are "ABS" (Absolute BS) as well. When he ran in 2010, there was no concern about "bullying" among any of the men and women who stood behind him at his Press Conference at the Plaza Level of the Columbus Government Center, and there was certainly no personal trepidation as I publicly brunched with him this year.

While I did not watch "The Royal Wedding", I did notice an advertisement... and my first thought was how did the cost of such compare to a Super Bowl ad?

---
As a sequel to the marvelous "Downton Abbey", PBS should do a series on the courtship of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.. I suggest the fitting title should be "Downton Alley"

---
My bride, the Lady Carol, watched the wedding, but but did not feel it was something she should be bothered too much with, and had her normal breakfast in bed. Dry toast, of course.

MidTown Columbus is up in arms over the announced plans to build 94 "affordable" (with taxpayer assistance) units in MidTown... Of equal concern is traffic flow and safety are affected by vehicles for 94 residences at the intersection of Wynnton/13th St/Hilton Ave, Wait! a Tom-LYING-son roundabout will SOLVE the problem.... NOT!

---
L-E headline: "SCHOOL SHOOTING * Student kills at least 10 in Texas" -- Another tragic event of personal terrorism and cowardice.. of course, mainstream media is in flux since the coward used a shotgun and revolver rather than an AR15 "assault weapon" and semi-automatic handgun..

---
Online story: "Democrat Stacey Abrams earned the support Thursday of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, a former presidential candidate who is a hero to many of the party’s progressives." -- Blockbuster News... NOT! Let's see.. in 2016 during the Democrat Primary in GA, Bernie got but 28% of Democrats vote (and only 20.5% in Muscogee), and won but one county in GA (Echols County with barely 51%).

I did not think it possible, but Robert Mueller has a worse first year on task than Obama did...

---
Just decided Friday on my choice for the Republican Lt Governor's race// David Shafer.. based on his humor in this pic showing he is not a closet liberal/RINO..lack of a sense a humor is a dead giveaway...

From the "fair is ONLY fair" department - Online story: "The mysterious law enforcement official behind the leak of confidential documents on Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s business dealings is facing new pressure as sources debunk his rationale for leaking -- and one report suggests it won't be long before he's caught. * The leaker could face up to five years in jail if identified and prosecuted. * The individual, who has not been named, came forward in an interview with The New Yorker on Wednesday" -- You know.. Robert Mueller has more.. a lot more.. reason to send in his goon squads to rifle the records of The New Yorker than he had for doing so to the lawyer-client privileged files at Cohen's office.

Nancy Pelosi.. speaks for DIMocrats.. but not for Americans.. she's currently defending the MS 13ers that Trump called... rightfully called.. "animals".. which is consistent with her defense of the illegal aliens in San Francisco who shot and killed Kate Steinle. I believe we need "the Wall"... and Nancy Pelosi's home should be moved to the Southern side of it...

AS I have said many times.. use the Republican ballot on Tuesday.. Let's give full community support to Josh McKoon as our next Secretary of State.. Oh, and the Republicans have a non-binding referendum on the ballot of importance..of getting all questions "concerning taxes, SPLOST, tax freeze or other taxes, only be on the ballot in November or general elections". Vote "YES, bit also tell them that it doesn't go far enough.. all local non-partisan elections NEED to be on the November General Election date (and not even a 'random' date in November) Council and the MCSB are TAXING authorities, and all of the community should be involved in their elections.
