From "the worm has turned.... on itself" department - Online headline: "Correspondents group criticizes comedian Michelle Wolf for remarks at annual dinner" -- Whatta great day for America..mainscream media realizing "freedom of speech" needs to be tempered with "fair speech".

---
Online headline: "Trump will delay the start of possible trade war with some of the US's closest allies" -- Well, this is about as close we'll get to mainscream media saying Trump has made America win again.

Early voting in GA has started.. in local races, I have some strong recommendations in several races...unless you have personal interests in a Democratic Party candidate , pick the Republican ballot.. it will allow you to vote for Columbus' own Josh McKoon for Secretary of state, and in the non-partisan local races, and also participate in a non-binding referendum to vote "NO" on casinos, and "YES" on moving all SPLOST-type elections to the November General Election date.

In local Council races:

Council Post 10... Tollie Strode..over John House or Amy Bryan.. Strode has proven his concerns for all of Columbus during the campaign, and was co-chair in leading the "Keep The Freeze" when most of Council, the Mayor and our legislators wanted to eliminate it.

Council Post 9 ...return Judy Thomas.. I have some reluctance in a complete endorsement, but weighing out the issues, JT.

Council Post 7...Siavosh Etemadi... he has a lot of property interest in the district and might be the change we need to see

Council Post 5...Charmaine Crabb - she's running unopposed but her fervor for Columbus and hard work in the "Keep the Freeze" movement make her exciting to Columbus' rebirth.

Council Post 3... Bruce Huff... the only member of the past Council that supported the "Keep the Freeze", and a stand up man.

Council Post 1... Pop Barnes.. don;t always agree with him, but he's as hard a working Councilor as we've ever had.

Mayor... Not Zeph Baker.. he disappointed me on trust issues.. haven't committed to any other candidate... yet.. but if you're not sure/committed .. either Skip Henderson or Beth Harris at this time.. will make a decision as we get closer.

MCSB Post 9... Tough call.. am concerned about Kia Chambers giving up on the MCSD and sending her child to a private school.. I can't blame her for that, but... But I want our MCSB to be concerned about fixing things in our public school system rather than participating in private school issues.. Tony McCool gets my nod.

MCSB Post 8... return Frank Myers... like him or not, Frank Myers has stepped up the concerns of the School Board to protect taxpayers, and make students' needs the focus versus rubber-stamping school administration's "wants".

MCSB Post 6 - Leaning to Mark Cantrell for another term, but would like to get him to comment on the costs of building those 40'X60' metal buildings.. His business deals with such, and he could never sell one of those to a customer for $312.00 a square foot. His opponent works in another state's school system, and like Chambers in Post 9, I want a full time focus on OUR school system.

MCSB Post 4 - Without a doubt, Toyia Tucker! She's a dynamo! and the sitting incumbent is another who works in another county's school system, and like Chambers's situation, we need MCSB members who are focused on OUR school system.

MCSB 2 - Sheryl McCraine! Weighed her against Mike Edmondson and chose her.. the other candidate, Bart Steed shouldn't have been eligible to run.. he's involved in an open $165,000.00 repair contract with the School System, and his loyalty to the students and taxpayers has to be an issue.

From the "how convenient it is to forget the truth" department -- A story was posted because Sasha Obama was "hanging out" backstage with Cardi B backstage at the Broccoli City Festival in Washington. Cardi B posted this "tweet": The Grammy-nominated artist continued to praise Barack Obama's legacy tweeting, "Obama did enough for this country and let’s not forget! he did it while the house was Republican." -- "let's not forget he did it while the house was Republican"? Whoa there... If there's any thing NOT TO FORGET is that Obama had super majorities of DIMocrats in BOTH Chambers for two full years, passed OObamaCRAP without a single Republican input or vote, and did ZILCH about immigration reform legislation. Let's also NOT FORGET that after those two years, the American voters sent a Tsunami of Republicans to Congress to try to undo the damage caused by the DIMocrats!

Online headline/story: "Mueller's questions for Trump leaked to NYT, in latest unexplained disclosure from Russia probe * The paper, saying only that it had "obtained" the questions without specifying how," -- "leaked"? yeah.. right...as in hand delivered.. to the New York Times.. here's another question you can consider as being "leaked".. Question for Mueller: Were you... are you... more attracted to Bill or Hellary? It's just as valid as any you're leaking to the NYT...

L-E headline/story: "Riverfront hotel in downtown Columbus? This is one of the ideas being floated to developers. * The request is more subtle than the more common Request for Proposal and is designed to see whether there is any interest from hotel developers and operators across the Southeast and nation in building a property adjacent to the Trade Center, said Brian Sillitto, the chamber of commerce’s executive vice president for economic development." -- What about the property next to the Marriott...the piece the Pezolds objected to being sold at such a low price..to be fair to taxpayers, it should be fenced off from parking use until the Pezolds buy it at the current FMV they claimed..... What..$1.5/$1.75 million today?

Went by the Government Service Center to pay my tag fees yesterday and noticed two things that have bothered me.. Remember those 10 parking spaces that Judy Thomas campaigned on getting "unreserved" for city employees at the front of the parking garage... then as soon as she was re-elected, she backtracked and got them
"re-reserved" for key government employees? Well. yesterday, 4 of the 10 were unused.. how does the Service Center operate efficiently if 4 "important enough for reserved parking" key employees are not present in the morning hours of a Monday? Another thing I noticed.. and have noticed for the last 4 trips I've had to make to the Service Center is that no Security Station was present.. I remember when Mayor Tom-LYING-son made such a budget issue over the need for Security Stations there but closed all the other doors from Public Access because "we" could only afford 1 Security Station.. well, if she's not going to "man" a Security Station at all, then she ought to open all the doors for Public Access.

How about those Central American caravaners at our Southern border! Doesn't it "thrill" you to see them climb the fence and wave the flag of the country they are fleeing from with pride as they razz our Border Patrol. Yeah.. they =really want to experience and enhance America.. NOT!

Online headline: "Marine Is Suing (Maryland) School After Finding Out They Forced Child To Study Islam. Do You Support Him? -- Congress... well, the liberal aspects of our Congress and Court system have basically "kicked God out" yet are encouraging the word of Islam... hank God for Trump...

From the "yellow dog DIMocrats don't change their spots" department -- Online story: "Taxpayers will spend at least $90,000 on tuition and salary so Atlanta’s chief financial officer can complete a six-week business management training program at Harvard University. * When CFO Jim Beard returns to the city next month, he’ll have a prestigious new line on his resume. * But he won’t have a job. * Beard’s resignation was one of at least two accepted by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms following a demand earlier this month for resignation letters from the roughly 30 people who make up her Cabinet." -- And he was getting paid his $274K annual salary while at Harvard, too. And this is in addition to the over $500K outgoing Mayor Reed doled out as hush money to his entourage...

L-E headline/story: "Porn star sues Trump for defamation * The porn actress alleging a sexual encounter with President Donald Trump is escalating her legal fight, suing the president for defamation. * Stormy Daniels filed the complaint in federal court in New York on Monday. At issue is a tweet Trump made in which he dismissed a composite sketch that Daniels says depicted a man who threatened her in 2011 to stay quiet about her alleged relationship with Trump. * In the tweet earlier in April, Trump said: “A sketch years later about a nonexistent man. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!” -- "suing for defamation? .. of what her reputation as a prostitute.. she's the one who "kissed".. among a list of other "chores".. and tells.. Maybe Ms Stormy need to understand that he's now a "public figure" (and man she's been public with a lot of 'figures') and pretty much has given up her rights of privacy and legal protection.
