Zeph Baker's residency claim at Bolton Assisted Living leaves us with with having to decide what his priorities are... will he deny an elderly person or two of a bed and assistance, or will he oust the current Live-in-assister for a bedroom of his own?

L-E headline/story: "Columbus High drops from No. 1 spot in Georgia * Columbus High School has dropped from the No. 1 spot in Georgia, according to the 2018 U.S. News & World Report’s rankings of Best High Schools. * This year’s rankings put Columbus High at No. 3 in the state, trailing No. 1 Gwinnett County School of Mathematics, Science and Technology and No. 2 DeKalb School of the Arts. * Nationally, GCSMST is No. 31, DeKalb School of the Arts is No. 75, and Columbus High is No. 105. * Columbus High had improved its ranking every year since 2013, when it was No. 5 in the state and No. 202 in the nation, then No. 4 in the state and No. 104 in the nation in 2014, then No. 3 in the state and No. 85 in the nation in 2015, then No. 2 in the state and No. 80 in the nation in 2016." -- Hmmm... So Dr. Lewis's tenure correlates the time line of Columbus High school's evolution in this story.... of course, he would have no effect on the 2014 stats, and little, of any on the 2015 and 2016 stats as the previous Superintendent's programs were the impetus in those years, so the current rankings are really the first under Lewis' direction.. and it's not the direction we need. Of course, it could be that we have 2 existing MCSB members who's attention to the MCSD needs is secondary to their own personal needs. One is working in another School System, and one has a child in a private school Oh, and the chair of the MCSB that brought Lewis to Columbus wants his job back.. Vote for improvements.. Keep Frank Myers in District 8, and Mark Cantrell in District 6,, and elect Toyia Tucker in District 2, Sheryl McCraine in District 4, and Tony McCool in District 9 At-Large.

In the same story we learn: "Early College Academy of Columbus is the only other Muscogee County high school honored by the magazine this year. It isn’t rated high enough to receive a ranking, but Early College received a bronze medal for the fifth straight year. -- Good grief.. we have only one high school that's good enough to get a ranking, and only one other that got a "participation trophy" How long can we allow our students to tread water before we make changes?

---
In a related online story: "For the second year in a row, the No. 1 school in the country is BASIS Scottsdale. Public high schools in the BASIS charter school network in Arizona dominated the top of the national rankings, claiming the first five spots." -- Is anyone in the MCSD or on the MCSB pushing to see what BASIS is doing? Seems to ]me that the only outside look our school administration has looked into was for Camelot.

Your vote for your school board reps are important...one thing particularly clear is that we need improvements.. and improvements will not come from reps who feel Dr Lewis is doing a job that doesn't need improvement.

Amazing...mainscream media wants an apology for what someone said about Senator McCain that was leaked. You know, maybe there should be...but it should follow the apology by mainscream media for reporting leaked gossip as news.

Online headline: "Spikes in chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis take STDs to record highs in California" -- Hmmm... maybe drugs aren't the "evils" slipping across our Southern border with illegal aliens... Maybe California should concentrate on "Sanitary Cities" than "Sanctuary" ones...

Online headline/story: "Mexican woman charged with voter fraud, accused of illegally voting in 2016 election * According to the attorney general’s office, Garza is accused of voting illegally in Harris County in November 2016, as well as in elections in 2004 and 2012. * Paxton said a joint investigation with the Texas Department of Public Safety determined that Garza obtained documents to steal the identity of a U.S. citizen and illegally register to vote." -- It happens... because it can without good voter registration laws in effect and being enforced.. This is also why we need to use the Republican Primary Ballot here in Chattahoochee Valley area so we can vote for our own Josh McKoon for Secretary of State.

From the "let's punish the workers... yeah that's the ticket" department - Online headline/story: 'Seattle’s new ‘head tax’ blasted by city’s mega-corporations * A new tax approved by the Seattle City Council has triggered a fierce war of words between the liberal city and its behemoth corporations usually known for their progressive outlook.
* Starbucks and Amazon are now blasting the decision to slap a new “head tax” on businesses to pay for homeless services and affordable housing -- saying the government's own lack of efficiency is to blame for the city’s woes. * “The city does not have a revenue problem – it has a spending efficiency problem,” Drew Herdener, Amazon vice president, said in a statement. “We are highly uncertain whether the city council’s anti-business positions or its spending inefficiency will change for the better. * The Seattle City Council on Monday passed a plan to tax businesses making at least $20 million in gross revenues about $275 per full-time worker each year. That “head tax” is estimated to raise about $48 million -- which authorities are marking for housing and homeless services." -- Hmmm... looks like liberals have found a way to get the money back from the workers benefiting from the Trump Tax Cuts. Since corporation cannot physically "be taxed", Seattle's Council is going to take away workers' salaries/bonuses BEFORE their companies can put it in their pockets.. and of course, the low income workers are the ones that may end up homeless themselves after being taxed to take care of other homeless people.

Another day has passed that Zeph Baker has not turned in his donations/expenses records as required.. Of course, how can we expect them to be accurate as the Financial Disclosure Form he has filed is filled with "omissions and overstatements".. He owns other properties he failed to list, and he claims business assets that no were longer in existence when he filed.

Online headline/story: "Lawsuit alleges 'con shell game' to build Obama Center in Chicago park * Protect Our Parks filed the lawsuit Monday seeking to block construction of the Obama Presidential Center in historic Jackson Park on Chicago’s South Side, where a young Obama cut his political teeth. * Established law precludes the Chicago Park District from transferring public parkland in Jackson Park to a private non-governmental entity for its own use, the lawsuit claims. * According to the lawsuit, the original purpose of transferring the land was to house an official Obama Federal Library. However, that is no longer the case. Obama decided the center will not include his presidential papers." -- Good grief.. of course Obama will not put his "papers" in a location where researchers can expose them for what went on before and during his White House Years..

From the "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" department - Online headline/story: "North Korea threatens to cancel US meeting over American military drills with South Korea, report says * " -- Good grief.. Mainscream media has made so much of the US-N. Korea meeting in Singapore, that Kim Jong Oooops feels threatened his own people will feel encouraged their lives will improve that Oooops HAS to "rattle his saber" one more time...

Online story: "The city of Atlanta would contribute $100,000 toward a $1.5 million trail that would run along the Chattahoochee River for 100 miles under an ordinance introduced by Councilman Dustin Hillis." -- "$100,000.00 toward a $1.5 MILLION trail.. (of) 100 miles"? -- Hmm.. let's see,, that means Atlanta, who obviously will be the greatest benefactor, is putting in $1,000.00 a mile for a trail that will cost $15,000.00 per mile... who's paying for the other $1,400,000.00?

From the "we need some 'splainin' " department - Online headline/story: "North Carolina teachers rally for more funds in latest US school walkout * Thousands of North Carolina teachers were expected to rally at the capitol on Wednesday for higher pay and increased education spending in a walk-out that follows similar protests from teachers in other states seeking more money for schools." -- Two questions: 1 - How do students benefit for teachers pay/benefits taking more of the allotted revenues for Education, and 2 - What's stopping any teacher from trying to take a job in other lines of work? Don't get me wrong.. teaching is a noble calling.. but as a calling, shouldn't one called be expecting hardships in his/her path?

From the "be careful .. you may get your wish" department - Online headline: "Angry nurses want Mark Zuckerberg's name removed from a San Francisco hospital (FB) * They're concerned about Facebook's privacy practices and worried that patients will associate the hospital with the social-networking company's recent scandals. * One suggestion? Re-naming the hospital after José Sarria, a legendary San Francisco LGBTQ civil rights activist and drag queen." -- Ooooowww... I'm sure the San Francisco Hospital would do so if the nurses raised the money to replace funds 6uckerberg donated, but.. if nurses are fearful patients might fear their privacy coming to a hospital named for 6uckerberg , wouldn't some patients have more fear that their appendectomy operation could end up as a gender re-assignment procedure?

Since "Stormy Daniels" is not her legal name, shouldn't all mention of any lawsuits she files be done in her real name? Can't you imagine how embarrassed her 7 year old daughter is .. especially on Mother's Day?

Is it only me, but have you noticed that when Spectrum is out promoting it's faster Internet speed upgrades, my standard WiFi seems to slow down...

L-E headline/story: "2014 DRIVE-BY SHOOTING *Judge sentences Walker to 20 years *
A jury on May 2 acquitted Walker, 26, of murder charges in Marvine Bailey’s death, but convicted him on the assault charge." -- Just the results of another Columbus "jury fail" the felon wasn't trying to kill the dead person, so he's not guilty of murder... sad.. sad.. sad
