Online headline: "As Deficit Fight Looms, Obama Eyes Earmarks" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought potUS Imam-a was looking for something else to waste money on.

Bernie Goldberg wrote this: "...the president had the good sense not to throw a party after the Democrats took a "shellacking." He may also be clueless, but he's not nearly as clueless as the soon-to-be former speaker of the House. When it comes to clueless, she's a real star." -- Well said.

Online story: "An e-book for sale on Amazon.com entitled 'The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure' was apparently pulled by the online retailer late Wednesday after shocked consumers across the nation called for a boycott. " -- While pulling it is certainly the right thing to do, why the hell was it ever offered for sale? Hope that decision maker is unemployed as you read this.

2 excerpts from a letter a fellow BCer has written to GA's Senators:
"Taxing someone more because of how much money they make seems to me to be discrimination. We can't discriminate because of race, religion, yada, yada, why can we discriminate because of income? * The government's responsibility is to insure equal opportunity, not equal outcome." -- This is a very valid observation, and I encourage all of us to campaign similarly.

As long as Council is planning to spend millions of dollars on the old 14th Street Bridge, why not spend a few more and get it back to condition that cars can use it, too?

Oregon remains undefeated only because of a missed field goal..BCS must be confused.

The L-E, in its inimitable way, may have caused a problem with its story on the dogs of some of the Columbus Kennel Club. One dog was described as living with a family that included 5 other dogs. Wonder if the L-E ascertained whether the people in the family had a kennel license for having more than 5 dogs?

Was real torn as to who I will vote for in Council Post 9, but seeing an early donation by Rev Flakes to Chambers has made me to decide on Thomas.
