Went by one of those corner drug emporiums to buy some medicine yesterday AM, and was treated to an bit of unintended humor (and truth) by the pharmacist. He was wearing one of the iconic medicine smocks that had been pressed with a fold in the fabric where his title was monogrammed. It wouldn't necessarily read the same from all angles, but from where I stood, Pharmacist was truncated to look like "Phaacist". Phonetically, that sums up the DIM&DUMBERat concept of our medical industry.

Thanks to a fellow BCer, I just learned that it took 4 full time employees at about $18.00 an hour to man the East Wing access at the government center. That's a big part of the waste factor in City Government. No public sector operation would have more than 2 full-time and 1 or 2 part time employees to man that for weekday only access, and probably for quite a bit less per man hour.

The NAACP needs to ask itself 2 questions, and answer them truthfully, before further protesting Davis' execution: 1 - Is the NAACP protesting because it knows Davis is innocent, or is it only because he's black?, and 2 - Is protesting Davis' execution an "Advancement of Colored People"?

Noted the L-E story on reconstructing the Bike Trail at Slade & Warm Springs Rd "for safety reasons" (Of course, this 'rework' will have to be 'reworked' again when Warm Springs is widened). If "safety reasons" are the issue, then the City and State should make Bike Trail users to take a licensing course on the proper handling and use of a bicycle on the streets in Columbus and GA. Most do not know that their bicycles are under the basic rules of an automobile, and that includes not riding their bikes (or cars for that matter) on sidewalks if they are over 12.
