Why does the US Government sound so concerned about announcing increases in the poverty level? The US Government's spending policies, and entitlement programs are basically the cause of the increase in the poverty level.

There's one big problem with buying/owning gold at these prices. There's no safe place to 'park' your earning. Interest on cash is miserable, and other investment areas put you in the same or worse risk category as gold.

A letter in the L-E reflects how the writer would have told college students to "seriously consider teaching as a lifelong profession". Since when is '30 and out' a lifelong profession? That seems to be the course of action for too many in the education field, and it's a shame it's an option to leave it when they just get to the age they have acquired wisdom worth passing on.

I have one question to ask about the projected savings of $150K by closing the East Wing doors of the Government Center. Since the only way to have done that would have been to eliminate $150K in salaries and benefits, how many people were dismissed at the time that was done?
