Online headline: "Despite Global Conflict, Statistics Show Violence In Steady Decline" -- Government statistics also say we don't have an inflation problem. Just confirms the adage that, "Figures don't lie, but liars figure a lot".

The latest from barackobama.com: "I'm James Kvaal, the new policy director for President Obama's 2012 campaign." -- I'm waiting for the news that we have a 'new policy setter' in 2012.

potUS O'Blather goes on tours to promote his 'jobs' plan. Let's recap his plan so far. He's created jobs in Canada building his buses; he's created jobs in Mexico building SunPower solar panels; and he's created jobs in Finland building $80-90K electric sports cars for the 1%... and with our money. Guess he's not going to run for re-election next year; he's campaigning to be appointed head of the UN!

I've had with government involvement in our healthcare, and HELL-thScare hasn't really started. Being congested, I went into a CVS yesterday to buy package of Sudafed, and was told by the pharmacist she couldn't sell any as their stock had been pulled and locked up because of some kind of Class 5 alert. I have no idea what that is (nor knew such existed), but Sudfed works for me, and since we have to produce an ID and sign a 'log' for such purposes, why can't I get some when I need/want some? I always wondered how much money the ID/signature procedure costs and how effective it was, and now we see it is just a waste of dollars and time.

L-E headline: "HOME2SUITES BY HILTON COMING TO COLUMBUS" -- Guess Hilton tried to find a room in Columbus on Expedia, and couldn't find one so Hilton thought that Columbus might need a new hotel.

L-E "Thought for Today": "A learned fool is more of a fool than an ignorant fool." Moliere, French playwright (1622-1673) -- Wasn't Harvard founded in 1636? Makes sense...

I do hope that the "10-Year Plan to End Homelessness" succeeds, but I would like to see a specific amendment to the plan that stops all City of Columbus expenditures at the 5-year mark if definite progress for the 100% end of homelessness in Columbus is not on a reasonably agreed on track of success.

I wasn't for it in the beginning, and I'm still not convinced of the ability of the Crime Prevention Commission to actually do such, but I am encouraged that the principals take their concern for properly distributing such funds seriously. Pop Barnes outrage is misplaced for demanding the Commission abandon the common sense qualifications for program requests.

Why does Council think they should donate excess inventory, like the "pursuit vehicle bar lights" to CSU? It would be one thing if CSU paid property taxes to cover city services for CPD, CFD, and road repair services, but CSU is 'exempt' from such. Put the aforementioned 'pursuit vehicle bar lights' up for bids so all qualified police/fire/private security departments around the area/country can set a price for the worth, and if CSU is the high bidder, so be it. Another question: If another police service wants the 'pursuit vehicle bar lights', why are we buying new ones?

Don't you wonder when, or if ever, Ole Miss will decorate its end zones with "Black Bears" instead of "Rebels"?
