Online story: "Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen stirred controversy Wednesday evening when she criticized Ann Romney for having "never worked a day in her life." * "Guess what?" Rosen said. "His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing." -- Ann Romney in defense of motherhood responded: "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys," she wrote. "Believe me, it was hard work." -- The DIM&DUMBERats started destroying 'the family' in the 1960's with LBJ's "Great Society" program paying women for illegitimate children, and in the 70's raised taxes so much nearly all families need two incomes (one for day-to-day expenses, and one to pay the taxes). DIM&DUMBERats have no respect for women in respect to their worth as mothers. --- I sympathize with Trayvon Martin's mom over her loss of a child. I really do. I would whether by an unavoidable traffic accident, or drive by shooting, or unstoppable medical problem, and even the circumstances of George Zimmerman's side of the story, BUT I do not sympathize with her story of her son's innocence. She had sent her son away from her home to his father because he was out of control in her home. --- WRBL 3 headline: "New DUI task force could help prevent drunk driving tragedies " -- This is almost a "headlie". A DUI task force may help curtail drunk drivers, but preventing such is beyond the law. Until an over-imbibing person actually gets behind the wheel and takes off, the 'task force' cannot act, therefore, cannot prevent such. I do hope, no, pray, the 'task force' will make a difference. --- Just thinking about the college entry dilemma caused by increased applicants, and wonder why any college offers remedial classes. Entrants should be prepared to do college level work when they get there. --- Taking the above thought, that universities and colleges are experiencing record enrollments even though 1-in-3 students don't graduate from high schools messes with my mind as to the actually quality of the education the other 2-of-3 get that makes remedial college course so prolific... --- Following up on a crime story last week in the L-E, has anyone found out what a "low haircut" is? --- Bobby Petrino ... what can you say.. Maybe he is the beginning of the Joe Paterno effect...holding coaches responsible for their bad behavior. --- I've about decided that potUS O'Blather wears a suit made for "Men in Black", and it's the only one he has. --- What potUS O'Blather is not telling you about the "Buffet Rule": Buffet will pay more than his fair share of taxes when his estate is ravaged by the government. --- When potUS O'Blather was delivering his "Buffet Rule" speech yesterday, he pointed to the supporters standing behind him. I guarantee not one of those people was anything but a government/DIM&DUMBERat flunkie. Those were not affluent independent business people. --- Chevron is building the largest natural gas power plant in the world...... in Australia. Chalk up another loss of taxes and jobs to the DIM&DUMBERats. --- On Easter, 45 Nigerian Christians were massacred by Muslim. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, Ambassador Johnnie Carson, stated that “religion is not driving extremist violence” in these attacks. OK, Mr Carson, would you put on your Carnac the Magnificent turban and tell us the answer that's in Ed McMahan's mayonnaise jar! --- L-E story: "CORCORAN, Calif. — A prison panel denied parole Wednesday to mass murderer Charles Manson" -- Huh? Do I detect a sliver of hope that there is still respect for life, decency, and the law in California? Must have slipped by Nancy Pelosi.. --- The Chattahoochee Chatter is stirring up conflict between bicycling entities. Whether it's the CCC or the CVA SORBA, I wish one or both of these groups would emphasize the laws of GA concerning bicycling. Bicycles are 'vehicles' as are cars, and have basically the same regulations for using them (other than those under 16 can ride solo, and those 12 and younger can ride on sidewalks). Maintaing lanes, using hand signals, and obeying traffic signs are part of the right to ride that the majority of bicyclers seem oblivious to being responsible for their own safety. --- L-E story: "The Armed Forces Reserve Center, a $21 million facility to consolidate reserve units under one roof, officially opens Saturday at Fort Benning. * As part of the 81st Regional Support Command, the 139,755-square-foot building is the new home for 13 reserve units and 463 military and civilian support personnel, said Gail E. Anderson, a spokesman for the public affairs office at Fort Jackson, S.C." -- Why is it that the federal government can build a high tech building for so much less per sq ft than the MCSD can build a high school or business office? --- L-E headline/story: "Jury acquits man who says he was selling pot during alleged robbery * A jury found a 20-year-old man not guilty of armed robbery Wednesday after he testified he went to Columbus' Liberty Garden Townhomes in 2010 to sell marijuana to customers who then tried to rob him, rather than the other way around." -- DOH!!! Is it our DA's office or the jury panel (or both) that makes hard working Columbusites lose confidence in the justice system?
