Online story: "Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) expressed his disapproval of the president's recent comments about the Supreme Court, apparently referring to Obama as "stupid" on Twitter." -- What a break in proper political protocol.... when you say something about someone with a title, you should say, "President Stupid". --- Online headline: "5 Best New Cars From NY Auto Show" -- Proof things are 'tough all over'! Used to be a 'list' was composed of "10". --- The Federal Reserve recently brought attention to the fact that student loan debt is higher than bank card debt, and has topped the $1 TRILLION DOLLAR level. Here we've been worried about the government debt being passed on to the next generation to solve, but next generation college students seem to be a major part of the current problem! --- Online story: potUS O'Blather is taking a new stance from last election. He is no longer the candidate of HOPE & CHANGE; this year, he's going to portray himself as the " reasonable moderate" candidate. The GOP hasn't even finished its primary season and potUS O'Blather is already lying about being reasonable or a moderate. --- Here it is, 4 years after now potUS O'Blather became the DIM&DUMBERat's banner carrier, and the spell checker on AOL still flags "Obama" as 'misspelled". I still get a chuckle out of the alternatives AOL suggests to replace "Obama" with: "Baa, Barn, Badman, Barman, Bagman, Batman, Bema Bamako, Brahma, Banal, BWANA, Banta, Baas, Balm, Barmaid, and Beam. Personally, I prefer my series of alternative names: NerO-bama, Ali Obama and his 40 Tsars, POTus and potUS O'Blather etc. --- Karl Douglass has opened the door for genuine discussion of how crime effects all of us.. now it's just a matter of time before one of the usual suspects throws a race card on the table and shuts the door for meaningful follow-up discussions. --- Coffee Maker manufacturers should be held accountable for false advertising and bogus measurements! I just poured my bride and mine second cups of coffee from our 12 cup 'pot', and there's not enough left for a cup of coffee for anyone! Wonder if Joe Dimaggio would have taken the spokesperson job as "Mr Coffee" if he'd known this? --- One thing about it, Mitt Romney's choice for a VP running mate will be a big improvement over potUS O'Blather's chice. --- Froma Harrop is making her camel harummppphhh again as she writes: " This (the Volt) is the car that all right-thinking right-wingers demand we hate. In their political prism, the Volt has everything going against it: It’s beloved by environmentalists for getting 61 miles to the gallon." -- She can only come close (as opposed to accurate) by adding the promoted 35 miles on the battery charge and using 1 gallon of gas at about 26 MPG. Each additional gallon of gas used before having the Volt sit idly for 12-18 hours recharging drops the overall MPG considerably. If you get the 35 miles out of the charge, and 26 MPG out of the other 8 gallons in the tank, you get a combined mileage of 269 miles on a charge & a tank of gas. My wife's station wagon gets better that on the highway, and twice the mileage before filling up again. --- Tiger Woods is his own worst enemy. His temper tantrums and bursts of expletives undermine his physical talents. Carrying a bad moment onto the next shot is self-destructive and counter productive. Golf is a game in which one good shot per hole is all you need to have a good score. It might be a recovery shot or a good putt, and there's only room on a score card for 'how many', not 'how'. --- The L-E has a review of another book on bicycling, and once again, the material faults the ills of the bicyclers on pedestrians and automobiles. Obviously the author never has read the laws regarding riding a bicycle. Laws? Yes, a bicycle is considered a vehicle covered by the laws governing an automobile. These laws include not riding on sidewalks once you pass 12 years of age, stopping at red lights & stop signs, riding on the correct side of the road (and in single file), and using hand signals for turning or stopping, and warning pedestrians on mixed traffic pathways when they are passing walkers. Bicyclers are their own worst enemies in foot or road traffic, primarily by their ignorance of the laws which will protect them.
