If you're trying to figure out why there's such a gap in intelligent action emanating from the US Senate, wonder no more; Dianne Feinstein, D&D of CA, is the Senate Intelligence Committee Chair.

During the awards ceremony for the Women's Tennis Singles event in London, when the American flag was raised in honor, the flag fell unceremoniously to the ground. This was about as insulting an event as King Arpege returning the Churchill bust back to the British embassy when he took office in 2009.

Standing "0" for Jamie Lynn Gray! Olympic GOLD!!

Great article in the L-E about George Williams and his sons Pershin and Donovan. Some may remember Pershin as a fine baseball player as well down at Peach LL.

By the precinct vote, obviously the NAACP has lost any voting control over South Columbus. Even speaking out against the T-SPLOST didn't mean a thing to South Columbus voters.

---

Thank God enough conservatives voted in the DIM&DUMBERat primary or Sheriff John Darr could have been unseated. Remember that in the next primary when there aren't enough vital Republican races for consideration.

---

I was concerned that the other counties might override Columbus in the T-SPLOST, and was shocked that Columbus actually voted for it as well. Well, the south part of Columbus did override the north Columbus vote. It's amazing that the most regressive taxes are supported by those who can least afford a 13+% tax raise.

L-E story: " Las Vegas - Vice President Joe Biden told a gathering of veterans Saturday that politicians should emulate them in setting tax policy. * "We can all take a page from your book -- a sense of shared sacrifice and the understanding that all of us have to do our part," Biden said." -- What pandering BS! Veterans would be more receptive to 'talk' if Biden would 'walk the walk', and give that same speech to an stadium filled with members of the 47% that pay no income taxes.

The 10K Olympic race was amazing. The British runner was somewhat of favorite , but when the American runner finished second, outsprinting several highly ranked African long distance runners, the announcers were basically to unprepared to celebrate. The best they could do was say Galen Rupp was the winner's (Mo Farah) training partner in Oregon. Rupp won the first medal by an American since 1964, and only the third in the past 100 years.

---

It's also amazing that the knowledge of how much tax the IRS takes out of the Olympic cash awards is alarming to people. It's the same amount IRS would take out of your lottery or gambling winnings; the cash awards given for earning a medal in the Olympics is treated like earned income. This should not change.. but a good change would be to stop giving such awards to the athletes. Let personal and country pride be their motivation, and cash-in on such after the Olympics.

King Arpege says Romney sent jobs overseas, but at the same time, King Arpege has authorized a Chinese contractor and Chinese workers to come into Texas to do a $5 BILLION road/bridge contract.

Huckabee nailed it on Fox & Friends yesterday. He said that while millions ate chicken at a Chick-fil-A on August 1st, Rahm Emanuel ate "crow'.
