Online headline: "Jared Lee Loughner Calls Self A 'Failure' Because Gabrielle Giffords Survived Shooting" -- Why in the hell is this in the news? Loughner pled "Guilty" to all charges in exchange for a 'life without parole' sentence versus a death sentence a couple of days ago, so why is he even allowed to communicate with anyone, especially the media?
---
HuffPost story: "President Barack Obama is leading Mitt Romney by 7 points among registered voters -- 52 percent to 45 percent -- in a just-released CNN/ORC International poll." Well, there HuffPost and CNN go again. What both forget to add is that any poll they take is among their staffs.
---
Do you know the difference between a Fox News story and a CNN or HuffPost story. Fox defines "a story" as a report of something that actually happened, and CNN/HuffPost consider "a story" as an opportunity to make up a tale.
---
From the 'confirmation' department - Online story: "Hatebreed, a metalcore band from Connecticut, recently took issue with the way CNN labeled them. In an article describing the Sikh temple shooting suspect's involvement in a number of white power bands, writer Lonnie Nasatir included Hatebreed in the following list * A previous version of this commentary incorrectly included the band Hatebreed in a list of white power bands. Hatebreed is a self-described "hardcore metal" band. CNN regrets the error." -- Guilty by association seems to be as good as actually investigating the facts for CNN.
---
WRBL3 headline: "The re-count is complete; Darr comes out on top" -- Bet there were enough Breakfast Clubbers who voted in the DIM&DUMBERat primary to make this difference.
---
WRBL3 story: "In 2011, Kia expanded its existing rail spur by 2.7 miles of new track. Those involved say the development is a move in the right direction for business and the economy." -- Will someone please send this to Mayor Obamalinson? She needs to know, to understand, that railways for freight is the right direction, not passenger rails such as AMTRAK.

Online story: "LONDON — Manteo Mitchell felt the pop in his leg and knew it wasn't good. "It felt like somebody literally just snapped my leg in half," he said. * The American sprinter had half a lap to go in the first leg of the 4x400-meter relay preliminaries Thursday and a choice to make: keep running or stop and lose the race. To him, it was never much of a choice. * "I heard it and I felt it," Mitchell told The Associated Press. "But I figured it's what almost any person would've done in that situation." * Mitchell finished his heat in a more-thanrespectable 46.1 seconds, and the US tied the Bahamas in the second heat in 2 minutes, 58.87 seconds - the fastest time ever run in the first round of the relay at the Olympics." - Standing "O" for Manteo Mitchell! After the disappointment of hearing how much the medal winners got paid for winning by the International Olympic Committee as well as the American Olympic Committee, this bit of personal pride and dedication by Mitchell restores some of the worth of the Olympics.
---
From the 'worst moment in the Olympics' department: "NBC spotlight two men in the audience following one of the American women divers performance. Both were wearing personalized T-shirts. One read "(She) is my girlfriend"; the other read, "(She) is my client". Not going to mention her name.
---
Rumor has it that if King Arpege wins in November, the 2016 Olympics will add a new event... Bull Throwing & Mud Slinging.
---
If someone uses your vital info to open up a false financial account online, shouldn't the online service who authorizes such an account bear the responsibility to verify the applicant ID of whom he/she claims he/she is?
---
Bill Maher, huge supporter/donor of King Arpege, called black Republican Congressman Allen West an "ape". Media reaction... ZERO! Remember when King Arpege was caricatured to as a 'sock monkey"? The mainstream media went ballistic!
---
Guess we're seeing what the Olympic Committee deems more appropriate for women of the world to compete in. Looks like women's boxing is more appealing to European men than softball. Wonder what the Committee will replace women's beach volleyball with..synchronized heavy-weight mud wrestling?
---
It's getting harder to recognize which speculators are causing the spikes in gasoline prices. Is it the speculators of oil seeing strife in oil producing countries, or is it the corn commodity futures traders seeing drought conditions?
---
Liberal's L-E 'soundoff': "Rush Limbaugh, representing the right wing, called a young woman a slut and claims he's a Christian. Jesus protected a woman accused of adultery." -- WRONG! Rush didn't call Sandra FLUKE a slut; Sandra Fluke described herself as a slut and was proud of it. Rush just reported and commented on the facts.
---
Another erroneous L-E "soundoff": "Good old Columbus. They never saw a SPOST they didn't love. No matter what it's for, they'll vote for it." -- Well, a little clarity is needed here. Insert "South" between "old" and "Columbus" and this would be more accurate.
---
L-E headline: "Iran tries to calm Syria crisis" -- Don't tell me...this is a new movie title from Michael Moore... right?
---
L-E headline: "Airlines Have Best Record in More Than Two Decades" -- Yep, looks like a slow economy is good for something after all. Luggage and planes are landing together an closer to schedule. It's amazing when consumers have the edge on providers. Of course this only works in the private sector; government would be hiring more people to create more red tape.
---
Remember when the Olympics was basically a competition between the USA and Russia for the most gold medals? Now, even Great Britain has more than the Russians.
---
McClatchy headline/story: "Invasive European rabbits wreak havoc on ecosystems *
-- The "we" of course is "our government" trying to 'help'. What 'we' need is less government 'help'.
