Reality defines politics...Republicans extend a hand out for those in need; DIM&DUMBERats extend a handout when they need your vote.

Online story: "Fareed Zakaria is off the hook at both Time magazine and CNN after he admitted plagiarizing a New Yorker column last Friday. * Time announced Thursday that upon investigating Zakaria's columns, it has determined that the transgression was "an unintentional error" and "an isolated incident." -- Yeah...right.. Zakaria's plagiarized comments concerned gun control, and Time and CNN just happened to agree with the original author's view. I guess Time and CNN knew Zakaria 'meant well' in their eyes, so it's OK.

That brawl at the Little League field last month was a shame; dismissing the charges is another.

So Michael Curry is hiring a private lawyer to appeal his conviction based on "ineffective counsel'. Well, before his lawyer starts debasing the Public Defender's ability, the new attorney should have to prove it in a lower court that the said court appointed attorney is not competent to keep his license to practice, and Curry needs to show why he didn't pay for private representation to begin with. This revolving door welfare system for lawyers has got to stop!

Some Swedes have invented an 'invisible' bike helmet. They spent 7 years and $10,000,000.00 to bring a snap-on-inflatable-gismo that fits around your neck, and inflates when you tilt your head past a certain degree/angle. It's available now for $600.00 a pop. With my luck, I'd lean over to adjust my rat-traps and set the helmet off. Bet the first places they'll be available will be Big Lots clearance department.

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- A Virginia man has been charged in federal court in the shooting of a security guard at the headquarters of a conservative Christian lobbying group. * Federal authorities say Floyd Lee Corkins II told a guard at the Family Research Council, "I don't like your politics" before shooting him in the arm. The guard and others helped subdue Corkins, who was taken into custody." -- Where are the indignant, the concerned media and politicos?
---
A union spokesman at a Governors Day event in Illinois said, "we've supported these Democrats, and we demand their respect". -- Unions can't have it both ways...you cannot sell your soul then expect the buyer to respect you.
---
Online headline: Romney: "I paid taxes every single year". -- Like I've said before, Romney doesn't need to show his tax forms, but should give the media copies of all the checks he's paid to a tax entity in the last 10 years, and let the media and Harry Reid choke on the total sum of those checks.
---
Online headline: "Obama Leads Among Unlikely Voters" -- Well, if I wasn't planning to vote, I might say I'd vote for him too, BUT I am going to vote, but not for him. Of course, this poll was probably taken with the 13,000 illegal aliens lined up in Chicago hoping to get work permits and licenses so they can get registered to vote.
---
Online story: "Former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, the first member of Congress outside of Illinois to endorse President Barack Obama in 2008, will speak at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., according to an announcement from the Republican National Committee on Thursday." -- Guess there won't be a seat saved for him at the DIM&DUMBERat Convention in NC later.
---
I'm waiting for a L-E headline stating "Romney attacks Obama with F-bomb".... "Failure"
---
King Arpege responded to Romney claims his presidency has been an 'absolute failure". King Arpege took a page from the Clinton playbook, and said, "It depends on how you define "absolute" and "failure".

When I drive down Macon Road and see the construction going on, a parody of a song seems to come to life, " they paved paradox, and put up a parking garage".
---
After much delay and additional expense, I had thought the I-185 bridge over Macon Road had been fixed. Apparently not, they're b-a-a-c-c-c-k-k-k-k! Seems to me it would be a lot cheaper on us if the DOT would inspect contractor's work BEFORE they pack up and leave.
---
Fair play would be an ad with King Arpege describing his grandmother's paranoia while a grandmother in a wheelchair is pushed in front of a speeding bus. Well, maybe not 'fair', but more accurate.
---
The latest from barackobama.com: "Soon we're gathering for our convention in Charlotte -- and Barack and I would like to meet a few of you there. * This is a pretty amazing opportunity. The campaign will fly you and a guest to Charlotte and cover your hotel for the three nights you're there. And each night, you'll get some of the best seats in the house to watch the big speeches. * You'll meet Barack, and during his speech on Thursday night, I'd like you to sit with me. - Michelle" -- Well, I'm guessing the empty seat next to her was intended for Hillary, but she's not going.... either.

From the L-E:
When this project was first conceived, it was a dream to restore the Chattahoochee back to its natural state. Now it looks like its purpose will be an extension of a "Six Flags Over GA" water ride. What's 'natural' about what's going on.
---
Having George and Martha Washington's portraits hanging in the local museum will be neat. The Museum can finally put up a sign that reads, "George Washington slept here."
---
This is cool to me: Joshua Fry, my ggggg-grandfather was Washington's commanding officer in the French-Indian War. He
died in the field in 1754, and Washington took over his command.
---
After seeing the chart of the expected revenue timeline used by the MCSD board, it's easy to see why they can claim the revenues are 'only' $15 million short at his time. The projected figures are end loaded for more than 50% of the revenue to come at in the last two years. If the MCSD board does not reign itself in, there's a tsunami of debt coming in.
---
Hmmm, Richard Hyatt's column on Oregon today reeks of 'spatial profiling'.
