WRBL3 news story: "Back in 2009, an educational SPLOST, or Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax was approved in Muscogee County. Over five years, the additional one cent sales tax would be collected for educational projects, improvements and construction. It's only been three years since its approval, and already the SPLOST for education is looking at a $15 million dollar deficit; a decline that is expected to double by 2014. * "I think everyone realizes that this is an entirely different environment than what it was in 2008 when we started working on the projections," said Williams. * She blamed the declining economy for the fund's substantial loss." -- Hate to burst her bubble, but this was a point of contention I made even during the campaign prior to the referendum, and one discussed many times since. The MCSD board wanted an average of nearly $45 million per year for 5 years when it had full knowledge at the time that the most revenue for a 1% LOST/SPLOST in any year prior had produced only $36 million. The sad thing about this acknowledgement is the timing . This should have been fully disclosed during the just ended campaign period so all the incumbents would have had to address this knowledge (and their solutions) with the voters.

The D&Ds have started showing ads depicting Paul Ryan throwing his grandmother over a cliff. In reality, only King Arpege is actually guilty of throwing his grandmother 'under a bus'.
---
King Arpege attacked Ryan in Iowa by saying Ryan was the leader of the Republican opposition to a farm bill that would help with the drought. Problem is that the House passed such a bill 2 weeks ago, and Harry Reid hasn't gotten the Senate to work on it. Sounds like King Arpege has already been taken out of the D&D "need to know" loop.
---
The D&DNC just announced it was going to pull its accounts from Bank of America and open up accounts in Amalgamated Bank, a union owned bank. Of course, the D&D National Convention to nominate King Arpege is being held in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. More out of the loop info King Arpege had been excluded from the "need to know" circle.

The recent 2nd Ave sewer construction project is just an omen for the wasteful expenditures we can expect for the T-SPLOST projects. When 2nd Ave was given its temporary street paving, the line painters came in and used the expensive thermo-plastic materials while knowing that a finishing layer of asphalt is going to be laid on top of it. Just some temporary paint would have sufficed adequately at a lot less cost to the taxpayers.
---
Still no help from the DOT on getting dump trucks to use Veterans or I-185 to move gravel and such to South Columbus or beyond. The southbound lane 2nd Avenue from 30th Street to 18th Ave is disgusting again.

I am really POed! We have Congressmen wanting to exempt athletic prima donnas from paying taxes on their Olympic paychecks, yet when I won a 'free' $ .69 ice cream cone at a BK, I got charged $ .05 (7%) in sales tax! Now I wonder if BK will have to send out 1099 forms to every winner in its 'free food' game.

Representative Jesse Jackson, JR has been in rehab since June, and constantly changing stories emerge every week or so as to why. Since Government officials are using healthcare we pay for, and since they represent us, all government officials should have to have their medical status published weekly to us taxpayers when in such a medical facility!

Washington, D.C. has become such a den of iniquity, maybe it's time to move the White House and Congress to an isolated compound, say in a fly-over state like Nebraska or Kansas. Build only an adequate house for the president, his family, anda personal security squad, and a meeting/office/dorm complex for the Congresspersons. The president and his family and security squad would live there for full time, and Congresspersons would only be allowed there during official sessions.

Alert from a fellow BCer:
From TheBlaze.Com website: According to Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the TSA’s new “enhanced pat down” policy should be limited to searching only around Muslim women’s head and neck if they are wearing a hijab and that Muslims objecting to the enhanced full-body scans have the right to request the pat-down procedure be done in a private place.
* If you are selected for secondary screening after you go through the metal detector and it does not go off, and “sss” is not written on your boarding pass, ask the TSA officer if the reason you are being selected is because of your head scarf.
* In this situation, you may be asked to submit to a pat-down or to go through a full body scanner. If you are selected for the scanner, you may ask to go through a pat-down instead.
* Before you are patted down, you should remind the TSA officer that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck. They SHOULD NOT subject you to a full-body or partial-body pat-down.
* You may ask to be taken to a private room for the pat-down procedure.
* Instead of the pat-down, you can always request to pat down your own scarf, including head and neck area, and have the officers perform a chemical swipe of your hands." -- Yet American grandmothers and children can be strip searched down through their diapers. This is the result of too many DIM&DUMBERats havinhg ANY power to regulate our lives.

What exactly is it that King Arpege says 'we' can't afford to return to...producing jobs in America... drilling our own oil... enjoying life... having pride in our country and its politicians?

From another BCer following my comment about eliminating Hanes from my purchase lists since Michael Jordan is fundraising for King Arpege:

Online story: Tennessee Democrats voted for a newcomer, Mark Clayton, in their primary and selected him over 6 others. His 48,000 votes were more than twice his nearest competitor. As soon as the results were announced, Democrat Party official stated they were going to protest their own primary results because Clayton believes in traditional marriage, and is pro-life. Democratic Party officials are now advocating all Democrats to vote against Mark Clayton in the November election. They would rather see Republican Senator Bob Corker win the U.S. Senate seat instead of Democrat Mark Clayton. I did not make this up..

I was listening to an interview with Paul Ryan from a couple of years ago, and I was impressed he could explain to a lib interviewer how his point was better than the interviewer's and getting the interviewer to discuss it rather than respond with a 'talking point was startling. It means we may have a communicator equal to, or better, than Reagan.

It was, at a minimum, refreshing/amusing to read about a bicyclist here in Columbus who was arrested under the "open (alcohol) container" law. The officer is to be both complimented, and chastised. Chastised? Yes, for not charging the offender with a " dwi". A bicycle is a 'vehicle', and subject to obeying all the laws in GA/Columbus pertaining to automobiles.
---
King Arpege called Paul Ryan "an articulate spokesman got Romney's plan" and "I fundamentally disagree" with it. Well, seems you and I and most business owners more than "fundamentally disagree" with King Arpege.
---
David Axelrod, King Arpege's string pulled spokesperson, was out trying to paint Paul Ryan as a right wing ideologue, but the voters in his Wisconsin district gave him a bigger margin of victory than they gave King Arpege.

Despite claims of Mayor Obamalinson, the City Manager's Agenda calls for buying 5 properties in the Liberty District for $577,770 that are on the tax digest for under $90,000.

FedEx is reducing staff in the face of a weakening global economy... why doesn't the Post Office? Why.... unions and politics!
