Online headline/story: "Mars Rover Landing: Curiosity Lands Early Monday Morning * President Obama released the following statement immediately after the landing: "Tonight, on the planet Mars, the United States of America made history. * I congratulate and thank all the men and women of NASA who made this remarkable accomplishment a reality – and I eagerly await what Curiosity has yet to discover." -- King Arpege just can't share anything with anyone... He started out including all our pride, but finished trying to take credit for himself.
---
I really admire Oscar Pistorius, but why is the Olympic Committee allowing Oscar "Blade Runner" Pistorius to compete in the Olympics and the Paralympics? He's either handicapped or he's not.
---
If the Olympics is going to allow a runner to compete using carbon fiber spring blades, I want to enter the high jump competition using a trampoline. The law of aging and gravity are my handicaps.
---
There was a guy on Fox News this AM talking about why he disagrees with King Arpege saying he didn't build his own business in Detroit. The guy said the city of Detroit 'helped' him with his business licensing & forms 31 years ago, but he has built it into a 50,000 sq ft business today. Where did the guy get off on saying the city of Detroit 'helped' him at all; licensing and forms are more of a hindrance than help.
---
King Arpege says in his ads that "I approve this ad". Well, since he's speechifying it, I guess he has to say that, but what he doesn't say is that he approves the job he's responsible for.
---
I tried, I honestly tried, to watch a field hockey game, but within 3 minutes, my eyes were blurry from the Boise State blue field with a Barbie pink sidelines. I can only guess the players were required to have Lily Pulitzer paisley sport bags.
---
Swimmer Missy Franklin should be next Poster Child for the next Olympics and for teens worldwide. She refused to accept her Olympic Gold Medal earnings so she could keep her amateur status and compete on her high school swim team and for college later on. Standing "O''!
---
L-E story: " — Federal housing authorities are auditing the use of more than $650 million in grants designated for an ambitious plan for sewage and water systems across south Mississippi in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, The Associated Press has learned." -- This was 7 years ago, and the government is just now looking into it?
---
The latest from barackobama.com: "On September 6th, President Obama will take the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. I think our Georgia volunteers deserve a chance to be there. * Getting a seat is easier than you might think, thanks to something new that we just launched. All it takes is a willingness to step up and volunteer to help North Carolina win this election. * We're calling it the 9-3-1 program, and here's how it works: "Volunteer for a total of 9 hours. That's just 3 shifts of 3 short hours each. Then get your 1 chance to be a part of history -- we'll give you a convention credential to thank you for your hard work. * Sound good? Nine hours, three shifts, one seat. 9-3-1. Simple as that." -- Sounds like a lot more D&D's are opting out of coming, and King Arpege is looking for 'seat fillers' willing to endure speeches from XpotUS Clinton and King Arpege himself. Wonder if I can negoiate for the seat Hillary Clinton is not going to use?

How can the recent T-SPLOST tax ever be 'constitutional'? How can the government decide to lump 16 counties into a 'region' then take away the individual rights of any county to exclude itself from taxation? If this was a statewide issue that the majority of statewide voters "OKayed" would be one thing, but how can the voters of Harris & Taylor County be denied their rights to vote against another tax?
---
Curious... hmmm. were the individual county's voters ever given a chance to vote on whether each even wanted to be included in such a T-SPLOST tax region?
---
I am very glad to see Cathy Williams actually publicly admit that the overly ambitious school SPLOST will not come close to its projected revenue receipts, but when will she tell us which projects will be scrapped to keep the MCSD board from running the voters into debt?
---
From a L-E story: "An old rail line between South Lumpkin Park and Cusseta Road ... will become a 'multi-use facility'. The $3.5 million project will have a pedestrian/bicycle path similar to the fall Line Trace." -- Give me a break! Name me a name of anyone who rides'walks along the Fall Line Trace who would ever do the same on a trail between South Lumpkin Park and Cusseta Road!
---
From L-E story: "(Mayor) Tomlinson suggested the funds (T-SPLOST) could go toward repaving, sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, streetscaping or improved traffic light synchronization." -- The only thing that will improve the 'traffic light synchronization" would be to have all the synchronization software and hardware to be deleted.
---
L-E's "Though for Today: "The one predominant duty is to find one's work and do it." - Charlotte Perkins Gilman, American economist and feminist (1860-1935) -- That's one quote that will never be on the wall at a government welfare center, and one woman who no DIM&DUMBERat President would never nominate for a a Secretary of Labor appointment.
---
L-E story: "Washington - People retiring today are part of the first generation of workers who have paid more in Social Security taxes than they will ever receive in benefits after they retire." -- Seniors and seniors to be: Do not feel guilty of receiving what you get; you earned it and are going to be short changed by the DIM&DUMBERats who have looted the 'trust fund' to provide money for others to live on. Be very upset at the D&D's and media sources that claim you are on government welfare. Now don't you wish you had a personal SS savings/investment account you had some control over?

L-E's "Quotable": "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." - Mahatma Gandhi, Indian social and political worker. -- Where has this quote been hidden in the school books? I admired Gandhi in the past for many of his actions, but he just got demoted. He was/is nothing more than a foreign country DIM&DUMBERat socialist, who did/doesn't understand the reason God sent Jesus to us. God recognized the frailties of man, and sent Jesus to give us goals to being more Godlike while we are on Earth, but also give us forgiveness/grace when we fail and seek to understand our failures.

Just a teaser of sorts, but it may be a solution to a number of social problems. Approach manufacturers to build plants inside the wall of prisons that will utilize upward of 50% of the inmates in productive jobs at competitive outside wages. Prisoners would get paid, from which a certain amount be deducted to pay for their incarceration costs, and the rest divvied up to support a prisoner's family on the outside, or repayment of welfare payments to such a family, and/or to a savings account the prisoner could access when his jail term is complete. This would take the burden off of taxpayers, be an incentive for manufacturers to revive the "made in America" label, and prisoners would have the incentive to have a productive life while in prison or do the other menial jobs basic prisoners do.
