Online headline: "Conservatives Release Numbers Of Hollywood Heavyweights" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought someone had hacked into the HRELL-thSCARE computer records and found how much Roseanne Barr and Michael Moore really weigh.
---
This campaign season has to be considered 'unique' in the sense that the incumbent seeks election (versus re-election) on what he promises he can do better than his opponent rather than on his record of doing better than his opponent can.
---
Just from the absence of King Arpege's campaign rhetoric concerning Romney's tour bus, I'd guess it was not made in Canada.
---
Romney-Ryan.... Hmmm, what do you bet that the King Arpege campaign spinmeisters will refer to Romney-Ryan as R-Square ?
---
Since it seems to be an important fact for mainstream media, that no Republican has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio, does that mean no DIM&DUMBERat has been elected without winning Ohio, too?
---
When King Arpege heard Romney's runningmate was the head of the
House Budget Committee, he asked, "Budget Committee,.. budget...what's that?'
---
In 2008, candidate Arpege ran on a "Hope & Change" platform. In 2012, King Arpege's message is "Nope & Cringe".
---
McClatchy online headline: "White power’ rock sends message of hate" -- And "black power" rap isn't a message of hate? The only difference between "white power" rock and "black power" rap is that you can hear "black power" rap broadcast over mainstream radio.
---
Charles Krauthammer summed up Romney's pick of Ryan versus Portman or Rubio. Krauthammer said Romney's pick was brave because he picked someone without pandering to one vital state or the other.
---
Latest from barackobama.com: "Hal -- Paul Ryan will be Mitt Romney's running mate.
* What you need to know right now: This election is about values, and today Romney doubled down on his commitment to take our country back to the failed policies of the past. -- Yeah, back especially from the failed policies of the last 3 1/2 years.
---
barackobama.com already has video assassination tapes of Paul Ryan up and running. You have to wonder how much King Arpege has spent on having assassination videos already prepared for every VP candidate that Romney had to pick from.

What I didn't like about this year's Olympics:
Opening ceremony was a circus.
Learned athletes got paid.
Too much political correctness in keeping countries of judges hidden.
American uniforms looked French, and made in China.
Almost no coverage of the Decathlon events.
Allowed runner to wear high tech prosthetic aids.
Opaque running singlets for men.
Ryan Seacrest as a sports analyst.
Gymnastic coaches groping the girls.
Non-patriotic women's gymnastic uniforms.
Female boxing.
Men's "Joe the Plumber" swim suits.
Synchronized anything being considered an Olympic sport.
Gymnastics announcers trying to tell us what we can see for ourselves.
Bob Costas looking like he was sponsored by Botox and Maybeline.
What I did like about the Olympics:
No locker room reporters.
Usain Bolt hushing reporter while he stood at attention as our National Anthem was played in background ceremony.

All absentee ballots should require photo ID when picked up, or receipt signature of voter when mailed out. Neither is a requirement now.

Driving by the old Columbus Square property the other day, I noticed how all the buildings, existing and under construction do little to enhance the area. None of the buildings compliment each other; just LOSTs and SPLOSTs at work.

Liberal's L-E "soundoff": If they do away with food stamps, tens of thousands of grocery stores will go out of business. Think about that." -- Typical liberal concept when he/she cannot come up with facts to justify his/her words, he/she will pull a number out of a hat and stand proudly behind it. Would some stores go out of business... maybe, but only because of bad business practices.

Dusty, Dusty, Dusty... you're letting your feeling control your future. The trees at Tommer's Corner were special, but have been dealt a cruel but certain death. Your memories would have stayed the same; maybe even become enhanced is future rememerances...if only they were given the dignity of a 'closed casket' farewell. Your last memories will be bitter as the last impression of them will be the crippling pruning and public monument of a demented individual that committed such devastation. Me, I'll remember them in their heyday; proud and majestic (at least on days they weren't covered with toilet paper).

What's with the City's urge to spend money on specialty equipment that we would be better off outsourcing? Earlier this year, the City Manager bought a stumpgrinder, and City Services bought a 100' reach bucket truck, both of which will be usable/needed in limited situations, and now the City Manager wants to buy 5 dump trucks (at about $418K) to haul dirt and gravel. All these units require employees to be trained and for manning, and all require maintenance and eventual replacement. With all the professional services available in town that grind stumps, have 100' reach capacity trucks/cranes, and can haul dirt and gravel on a per use basis, how can the City justify any of these purchases as long term savings? Even Columbus Tech is wasting tax dollars on unnecessary equipment; it just purchased a police truck and a pursuit vehicle when battery or hybrid propelled carts would serve its needs as well.
---
The City Manager has also requested to purchase 5 unrelated properties for a total of $577,770.00. The City carries those properties on the tax digest as follows:
840 6th Ave - $29,000
722 6th Ave - $ 4,000
800 9th St - $21,000
830 9th St - $ 2,800
823 8th St - $32,800
Total $ 89,600
$577,700.00 being paid for property worth less than $90,000.00 is a pretty good profit at taxpayer expense.
