A judge grilled the Arizona nut who shot the Arizona Congresswoman as to if he understood the consequences of plea bargaining to a life without parole sentence. Why would a judge even think twice about putting away a known-to-be-guilty assassin, and save the state the expense of a trial and all the appeals that we know would be coming?

From the two tax returns already released by Romney, they showed he had paid over $8 million in taxes, and had millions in charitable donations. On the other hand, King Arpege's chief economic advisor, Jeffrey Immelt's company, GE, paid no taxes at all on one of its returns.

Harry Reid's attack on Mitt Romney about him not paying any taxes should be totally unacceptable by the media of every bias. In fact, the media should be outraged at any politician who uses his bully pulpit to make unsubstantiated claims.

The TSA shut down the Newark airport Sunday because they "lost" a passenger who tested positive for an explosive. After rescreening all the awaiting passengers, they still couldn't find her. Well, you guessed it; she just went to her gate, boarded her flight, and flew into Cleveland without any inconvenience.

If schools are going to recruit students to get as many as signed up they can in order to receive additional federal money, then schools need to identify families getting food stamps as well, and report such info so a similar amount can be deducted from the food stamp allocation.

Without such comparisons as above, federal programs of food stamps and additional free meals at schools maybe be one of the main reasons for obesity in our schools.

From a L-E story on Columbus Tech creating a campus police department: "Thet are armed with .40-caliber and .45-caliber Glock pistols and also use Tasers. * Officers patrol campus in a pickup truck and a new 2102 Dodge Charger." -- Do they carry one bullet in their pockets as well? While security is probably an important aspect of a campus, why do they need pursuit vehicles? Wouldn't the campus AND the taxpayers who furnish the revenue for the wheeled toys be better served with golf cart like vehicles?

Wow! The two American women's teams of beach volleyball are facing each other in the finals for the Gold and Silver medals. I would bet women's beach volleyball won't be an event in the next Olympics as 'the Committee' will probably give it a death sentence like it did for women's softball because the Americans are too good, but I suspect 'the Committee' doesn't want to run off its best TV audience who watch to see how small the volleyball uniforms will get next time.
