Spring is indeed here! God sent a flock of robins to feed on our holly berries, and tanagers to reap the HIS bountiful provision in the grass.

I'm looking at the MCSD website... did you know the MCSD has a Security payroll of 182 employees? That's a lot of personnel when you consider the amount of money the MCSD has spent on alarm systems, and the number of trained Police and Sheriff's Office patrol officers we have. Why does the MCSD have a staff 182? Think about this.. when/where do you see MCSD Security personnel? When I go to a high school sporting event, I see droves of off-duty Police and Sheriff officers, but I can't think of a MCSD Security officer I've seen. Why doesn't the MCSD pare itself of such a staff and just pay half of what it spends now to the City of Columbus for such services? In fact, in addition to saving a ton of money, the citizens of Columbus would also benefit from knowing we have real security personnel on duty.

---
Now I'm looking at the website of the Columbus Consolidated Government.. On the front page is an alternating advertisement for voting on the SPLOST... Hey.. Council doesn't have a dog in this fight.

http://www.columbusga.org/

---
Online headline: "Beer battle brewing in Congress as craft producers seek tax break" -- Ooops, my bad... thought Obamageddon was negotiating a plea bargain to Republicans to get a vetoed bill rescinded.
---
You know...the US Military could wipe out ISIS pretty quick if it staged a recruitment camp in a country we could care less about. ..say Syria, Yemen, Libya .. Hire a few hundred "virgins" to parade around, and offer a huge signing bonus,, that would be paid after completion of a 6 week training camp..After 30 days or so, when the camps are filled with Jihadist, lock the placed down and carpet bomb it with bacon-wrapped incendiary devices. We won't even have to pay the signing bonuses.
---
Online quote source: " “The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence.” - Rabindranath Tagore " -- Hmmm..."makes our life in harmony with all existence"? That sorta deflates the Education system's claim that 2+2 doesn't necessarily have equal 4.
---
Online story: "At the Austell, GA City Council’s pre-agenda meeting this week, Mayor Joe Jerkins proposed a plan to pay city employees $5 for each day they exercise for one hour. Jerkins said nobody came out against it at the meeting and he expects it will be easily passed at the council’s meeting Monday. * Employees would be required to sign in and sign out to log their time at the gym — which is behind the Threadmill Complex on Austell Powder Springs Road — and must exercise for at least an hour for the time to be counted toward the incentive program, Jerkins said." -- Hmmm.. talk about instant graft and corruption...bet the will be taxpayer revolts with signs about Mayor JERK-ins.
---
Online story: "Amazon, a technology company obsessed with secrecy, is hiring a former press secretary for President Obama, whose administration has been widely criticized for its aggressive leak investigations. * Jay Carney, who resigned as the president’s chief spokesman last spring, is joining Amazon as senior vice president for global corporate affairs, a new position, the retailer said Thursday. * It is an unusual hire for the Seattle-based company, which tends to groom its talent internally rather than bring in prominent outsiders. Mr. Carney, who begins his new job on Monday, will report to Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder and chief executive." -- "a company obsessed with secrecy" is hiring Jay Carney? Well, there goes any credibility of any delivery dates and order confirmations. Well, I guess Bezos may have hired Carney to be in charge of drone development.. Carney sure taught his replacement how to "drone" on about the current lies Obamageddon is tryng to float.
---
L-E story: "More than 17,000 Muscogee County School District students have received enhanced education this school year in the critical STEM subjects of science, technology, engineering and math, thanks to a partnership with Columbus State University." -- I'm all for new exposures to math and science but I have a question... over the years, how has this enhanced the 6th grade CRCT and other results?
---
Jonathan Gruber elitist LIV's L-E "soundoff"; " The charging port on 11th and Broadway is unsightly? Maybe so, but the reduction in exhaust emissions there should be lauded rather than criticized. We shall all breathe easier, literally, which is the point." -- Good grief.. why not ban all cars from Broadway, heck, downtown, and make all the parking for skate boards and bikes!
---
Don't feel threaten when the MCSD Board presents raising the millage rate if a SPLOST doesn't get passed...we already pay one of the highest millage rates in GA at 23.37, and the maximum for MCSD is 25.00 so there's are only 1.67 millage points and if that was increased to the max, it would only bring in about $7 Million additional revenue.. Hold their feet to the fire.. No tangible set of plans/priorities.. NO SPLOST!
---
L-E headline... uh, "headlie": "House rejects funding for Homeland Security" -- Good grief! What time does the L-E shut off news.. the DHS funding for a week extension was passed and signed by President Obamageddon yesterday evening.
---
L-E story: " The president of the local chapter of the NAACP is asking the Tuscaloosa City Council to consider regulating air guns as a way of preventing possible mistaken-identity shootings of children." -- Good grief.. look at the futility of a plethora of laws that try to curtail illegal possession of real firearms and then look at the request to do so to bb-guns and such.. you know.. all a law of such nature would do is raise the street cost of buying an illegal air gun versus a legal one..

So three arrests were made in Brooklyn conspiring to kill HEBFObama...those dastardly jihadists...wanting to give Veep Bleep Biden the Oval Office..talk about ruining America's reputation even further...
---
You know..if the projects on the 2015 SPLOST initiative were so certain to be what would cure the problems in the MCSD educational program, you'd think Dr Lewis and Board Chairman Varner would be willing, even anxious to discuss specifically how this will happen. Me, I'd want everybody to know I had good ideas.
---
Online story: "House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi got chuckles Thursday when she started a news conference by donning dark glasses, a teasingly sympathetic gesture to the man standing next to her, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid." -- Of course the real joke is why didn't she put on reading glasses and read the OObamaCRAP legislation before she passed it?
---
John Kerry says, under oath, we have nothing to worry about...we are safer now......hmmm..some how, anyone repeating the message of HEBDObama
---
I know it's a toss up as to believe any of Obamageddon's appointees promises, even if one says move left and the other says move right, but when the Sec of State says the world is safer, and the head of National Security says the world is more dangerous, I do believe I'm going to give the Security guy more credibility than Kerry.
---
Online headline/story: "Regulators approve tougher 'net neutrality' rules for Internet providers * The goal is to prevent providers from slowing or blocking web traffic, or creating paid fast lanes on the Internet, said FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler. * Still, consumer advocates cheered the regulations as a victory for smaller Internet-based companies which feared they would have to pay "tolls" to move their content. * Net neutrality is the idea that websites or videos load at about the same speed. That means you won't be more inclined to watch a particular show on Amazon Prime instead of on Netflix because Amazon has struck a deal with your service provider to load its data faster." -- You know.. government regulations to prevent one company gaining and advantage over another always end up costing consumers more...always..Thde reality of things is when one company gains an advantage, another company will cut it's prices to attract consumersfrom the other, and the faster company will find a way to appeal to that same customer by providing better service at a comparable. competitive price point.
---
Online quote source: "“If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.” - Colin Powell" -- On the other hand. Colin Powell destroyed his own "excellence" when he voted based on a man's skin color rather than character.
---
When you think about it.. the MCSD is no better at explaining why the SPLOST will help "kids" than Hillary Clinton has been about listing her accomplishments as Secretary of State.
---
You know.. with all the Lois Lerner e-mails that are coming to light, she could be arrested for perjury.. remember, before she rattled off her 5th Amendment rights, she stated, unequivocally, under oath, that she was innocent.
---
Online story: "President Obama said “we’ve expanded my authorities under executive action, and prosecutorial discretion” during a townhall meeting on Wednesday. * “What we’ve done is we’ve expanded my authorities under executive action, and prosecutorial discretion as far as we can legally, under the existing statute, the existing law” he stated." -- Hmm.. "under the existing statute, the existing law"? Well, at least under his interpretations rather than the US Supreme Court.
---
From same story: "Earlier, the president argued “what I’ve done is no different than what previous presidents have done.” -- Excuse me, but will you show me stills/videos of Reagan bowing to Islamist leaders.. or perhaps one of JFK bowing to Castro...
---
Online story: "The U.S. Treasury Department has rebuffed a request by House Ways and Means Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan, R- Wis., to explain $3 billion in payments that were made to health insurers even though Congress never authorized the spending through annual appropriations. * At issue are payments to insurers known as cost-sharing subsidies. These payments come about because President Obama’s healthcare law forces insurers to limit out-of-pocket costs for certain low income individuals by capping consumer expenses, such as deductibles and co-payments, in insurance policies. In exchange for capping these charges, insurers are supposed to receive compensation." -- Hmmm... this may explain why it seems insurance companies aren't paying income taxes... how can the government tax refunds?
---
Oh...lest we forget..American citizens take their child out to hunt and fish, but if they don't have the proper licenses, you will be arrested. Now, on the other hand, an illegal alien can take his/her child across our border, and get housing, food and school for free.
---
Remember Dinesh D'Souza? Director of the movie "America: Imagine A World without Her". He asked..since HEBDObama wants Americans to stop clinging to their guns and religion, shouldn't he go over to the Mid-East and demand the jihadist terrorists to do the same? -- Spot on!
---
"The Clinton's..where investigations go to die"... words of a guest on Fox's " Outnumbered"..do these words sum it up ever so perfectly?
---
What's with the potential Republican candidates..it seems they are more interested taking each other out of the picture than in demonstrating why they have the leadership this country needs to get back on track..I want the best one to step forward and bring the others along to help.
---
L-E "headlie"/story: " headlie: MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * PFLAG proposes gay initiative for local schools * Program would answer questions children have about homosexuality" * STORY: "A newly formed group of gay, lesbian and transgender Columbus residents met Thursday night to discuss an initiative to make the Muscogee County School District more welcoming for students of all sexual orientations. * Hobbs said Superintendent David Lewis was invited to Thursday night’s meeting, along with all of the school board members. * He said some responded and said they had to attend a SPLOST forum but to notify them about future meetings." -- First.. the story doesn't appear to be actually associated with the headlie's association with the MCSD.. Secondly, it actually appears that the L-E is trying to campaign to "alternatives" that there could be SPLOST inclusion... hmmmm... maybe we just don't know..
---
L-E headline: "GEORGIA SUPREME COURT * Court to hear appeal on ‘unreasonable’ hospital bill
In a “cross-claim” against the hospital, (Danielle) Bowden said the charges were unreasonable and excessive because she was charged more than an insured patient." -- Cheers for Ms Bowden.. as a self-insured individual, I have had many conversation over the years with hospitals on this very issue. For the record (at least before OObamaCRAP), St Francis responded by having the admitting desks have a rate card with discounted costs for self-pay patients. Columbus Regional was not as receptive. I used the 1975 laws passed in Gerald Ford's term that prohibited businesses from charging different prices to different customers for identical items/services. The laws are still on the books. Hope Ms Bowden's lawyers have discovered these as well.
---
Jonathan Gruber extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Obama routinely says things that he knows are untrue, but he is not a liar. This is simply political talk." -- Good grief... how Democrats would wink and eye and mark there ballots for Machiavelli! Liberals believe subterfuge and lies to get elected/re-elected are "justified".
---
L-E headline/story: "Militants abduct more Christians, smash ancient artifacts * Islamic State militants seized more Christians from their * the extremists also released a video showing the continued destruction of the heritage of the lands under their control. It depicted men using sledgehammers to smash ancient Mesopotamian statues and other artifacts in Iraq’s northern city of Mosul." -- Question: Why isn't the Mosque erected in the shadow of "Ground Zero" being demolished as we speak?
---
L-E story: "Former school board member Owen Ditchfield was in attendance. In an interview after the forum, he said two people told him they received robo-calls stating the alleged connection between the SPLOST and the meals program and he heard second hand that an Oakland Park resident said a door-to-door campaigner made the same allegation." -- I thought I was disappointed in Ditchfield's statements a couple of weeks ago, but now, he no longer exists in my world.. Shame on him.. for not having names and copy available for his insinuations. I actually voted/supported for this "person" in the past.. I am ashamed for thinking he is a "person" of integrity!

Online story: " President Barack Obama urged immigrants thrown into limbo by legal wrangling to keep planning for eventual relief, professing confidence Wednesday that his deportation directives won't be thrown out in court. * "This is just one federal judge," Obama said of the district judge in Texas who put Obama's order on hold." -- "just one federal judge"? This must make all the other federal judges feel special...NOT. Of course, if this "just one federal judge" had ruled in his favor, Obamageddon would compared this "just one federal judge" to have more wisdom than Solomon...
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Wisconsin Lawmakers Pass Right-To-Work Bill As Thousands Protest" -- Hmmm purely mainstream media bias.. how about the 100s of 1000s that celebrated!
---
The above story reminds me of a 1960's joke.. Russia was known for it's poorly manufactured cars that were pirated copies of other countries cars. Joke: Russia challenged the US to a car race.. their fastest against our fastest.. Car were selected and the race was held. The US car ran rings around the Russian entry. Russian headline the next day, "Russia finishes 2nd, Americans finish next-to-last".. To liberals, it's not just the facts, but how you can misrepresent the facts to make you look better.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Jonathan Gruber Ousted From Massachusetts Health Panel" -- Good grief... Gruber should have been fired months ago, but now mainstream media will blame his dismissal as Republican politics.
---
Online story: "The driver of a pickup truck that a Southern California commuter train smashed into at a railroad crossing did "all he could" to free the vehicle from the tracks and then ran for help before the crash that injured dozens, his lawyer said. * Attorney Ron B(_*_)mieh said that a preliminary investigation conducted by his firm showed the truck became entangled on the railroad tracks and "somehow stuck" before the crash Tuesday * the driver did not abandon the truck but rather went for help * the driver didn't call authorities because he was "in shock" and didn't even he had a phone"?he had a phone on him * the driver only speaks Spanish, and two people he encountered could not understand him, the lawyer said." -- "didn't abandon"? "went for help"? "didn't realize he had a phone"? Hmmm.. sounds more like the script of a Saturday Night Live starring Jon Lovitz - "yeah, that's the ticket" - as the lawyer. Truth was that the truck was not "stuck" and the driver set the emergency brake on the truck before he fled the scene.
---
Online headline: "Italian fisherman may have caught world's largest wels catfish" -- Hmmm, wanna bet HEBDObama called him to see if he wanted a job as a White House spokesperson..
---
HuffPOOPOO "headlie": "Recreational Marijuana Now Legal In D.C." -- I do not care that a state's, or even Washington, D.C's voters vote to legalize marijuana, there is an existing federal law that still says marijuana is illegal..
---
Online story: "Last November, Latonya Suggs, a 28-year-old Cincinnati woman with an infant son, went to a hotel ballroom in Southern California and told two of the federal government's top education officials that the U.S. Department of Education had failed her. * The previous month, Suggs had graduated from Everest University, a for-profit college, with a degree in criminal justice. Her online program, one of many owned by Corinthian Colleges Inc., saddled her with more than $70,000 in debt. She had hoped the degree would lead to a career as a probation officer. Instead, she could only find work as a hotel housekeeper" -- Good grief.. tp begin with, anyone who would conceded her/his "worth" after a 30 day venture into job searching surely isn't qualified to do work in the criminal justice system. The real problem here is the "student loan system" working with pop-up colleges. Colleges that don't have a history of success in any particular field should not be allowed to take on students who have to have non-asset backed loans.
---
Online story: "The Clinton Foundation was on the defensive Wednesday after disclosing that it had accepted millions of dollars from several foreign governments while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, including one donation that violated the foundation's ethics agreement with the Obama administration." -- "ethics agreement with the Obama administration"? Good grief.. that sounds more like another Saturday Night Live skit! What's important is the "ethics agreement" politicians should have with America.
---
Online story: "If a zombie outbreak were to strike US shores, East Coasters should head west ASAP. That recommendation comes by way of Cornell University researchers, who have modeled the statistical mechanics of, yes, zombies and will present their findings at a meeting of the American Physical Society on March 5 in San Antonio." -- Yes, moms and dads, universities are taking your education funds you started saving when your babies were born, and teaching crap like this.. hope you were not co-signing student loans to pay for your children to attend Cornell et al.
---
Facts staring at us on the MCSD website: Administrative salaries in the MC school system went up $2,280,671.96 from $22,862,181.64 to $25,142,853.60 in 2014 versus 2013. That's almost a 10% increase at a time that teachers and bus drivers and other support personnel were told to "suck it up" that they weren't getting raises.. Now Superintendent Lewis has lyingly dangled the thought of them getting a raise if the SPLOST passes.. SPLOST money cannot be used for salaries and benefits for school personnel... not even the administrative staffs. So, it looks like despite shortfalls of the previous SPLOST, and shortfalls of state revenues, the administrative staff got extra money that had to be held back from the teachers and the classroom. Vote "NO confidence" today ...well.. if you can find a parking place at the early voting place...
---
So far.. if the SPLOST passes, and since there are no set priorities, there are only two entities that know they will benefit from the SPLOST. Some bank will collect $4,000,000.00 in bond float fees to get $70,000,000.00 into the hands of the school system in a hurry, and retailers will collect 3% of the taxes they collect for the SPLOST. Yes some bank is promised $4,000,000.00 up front, and retailers, if the $192,000,000.00 is generated, will collect $5,760,000.00 in collection fees. That's right, $11,760,000.00 is going into corporate pockets.
---
You know, if "SPLOST committee" really knew what "they" were doing, "they" would decide on one or two projects that could be funded with only two years of tax revenue. That way, "we" could see something getting done, and "we" might be eager to support another couple of more worthwhile projects the next time.
---
Online headline: "Weather threat postpones Georgia's first execution of a woman in 70 years" -- Good grief.. maybe... maybe if GA still used the electric chair, there might be a "weather argument" concerning an electrical outage to be concerned about, but postponing lethal injections because of possible weather? What could go wrong.. even if an electrical administrating device was used to deliver the injectioons, it could easily be backed up by a human injection. Heck, I give my cat two injections a day.. how hard would that be for skilled medical practioners? Heck.. I'll even volunteer to do it.
---
Thinking about the above decision of the Georgia Department of Corrections.. are any of our MCSD board members of the DOC board? I just remember the number of school days that have been canceled by the THREAT of snow...
---
Online headline: "LOUIS FARRAKHAN CALLS GIULIANI A ‘PRIVILEGED CRACKER’ & ‘DEVIL’ FOR CRITICIZING OBAMA" -- I do not want to be a pot-stirrer, but you must hear this for yourself. The video is at this URL: http://www.freepatriotpost.com/louis-farrakhan-calls-giuliani-a-privileged-cracker-devil-for-criticizing-obama-video/
Even more alarming is Farrakhan's fractured history lesson on the birth of America.. according to him, blacks built America before the Europeans came over.
---
Susan Rice, HEBDObama's United States National Security Advisor and speaking dummies, is out trashing Netanyahu.. Why? There's really no explanation other than to keep Islamist hierarchy at ease.
---
WTVM9 story: "The White House threatened Wednesday to veto a Republican bill to overhaul the widely criticized No Child Left Behind law, calling the effort "a significant step backwards." * Republicans say the bill would restore local control in schools and stop top-down education mandates. Democrats say it would allow billions in federal dollars to flow out without ensuring they will improve student learning." -- "without ensuring they will improve student learning"? Good grief.. is Obamageddon seeking a job on the MCSD Board? He'd fit right in with the 7 that are for the 2015 SPLOST as it has been presented.
---
Obama vetoed the the Keysone XL pipeline bill that would create good paying jobs and now threatens to veto any educational overhaul bills the Republicans present.. I guess it sorta suggests Obamageddon is happy with the state of our children's public education..
---
Obamageddon has made two veto promise recently.. one of which he has already kept.... Don't you just hate it when a professional liar actually keeps a promise..it just disrupts the time line continuum. It also brings up an opportunity for mainstream media to question Obamageddon on his broken ones. Wanna bet how far this flies?
---
Online story: "Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel failed to capture a majority of the vote in Tuesday's municipal election, forcing the former White House chief of staff into a potentially embarrassing runoff this spring against Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia." -- Whoa! Maybe Obamageddon's coattails are getting even slipperier.
---
Online story: " Hillary Clinton is scheduled to step up her public appearances in March, appearing at a gala for EMILY's List, which supports female Democratic candidates who support abortion rights," -- Hmmm Emily's List supports only women Liberals. Not exactly a good example for all women getting equal pay for equal work.
---
L-E story: "Nearly 150 people surveyed in Columbus last month indicated they were homeless and slept unsheltered on Jan. 26, according to data compiled by Home for Good. * In addition to the 149 people who said they slept outside on Jan. 26, another 135 said they were homeless and slept in shelters that night. * “The good news, with basically 285 people who were identified," -- You know.. we... my family and church.. support numerous homeless organizations in the Columbus area; and have been as long as I can remember. We sympathize with each individual no matter what the circumstances that have contributed to his/her current state, but I am concerned about some of the government agencies' efforts, even our United Way efforts. Numbers just don't add up. From the United Way page on "Home for Good" is this mission statement:
"On any given day, there are more than 1500 people experiencing homelessness in Columbus. Home for Good: The Alliance to End Homelessness is charged with implementing the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness. The 10-Year Plan provides the framework for advancing the community from a model of managing the immediate needs of homelessness to ending homelessness through long-term planning and key strategies. " -- 285, while way too many, is a far way from 1,500. Perhaps it's not all the homeless that are really benefiting from United Way donations and City of Columbus tax dollars.
---
Jonathan Gruber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The solution for school district money woes is to save millions by eliminating the finance, technology, maintenance, HR, and construction staffs and let Myers and Thomas handle it all, since they’re such experts in everything." -- Well.. with a lawyer and an accountant, they certainly might do better...

---
You know.. if the MCSD had anything to campaign on other than "Vote Yes for Kids", there wouldn't be such opposition for this SPLOST. Where are the campaign signs stating the MCSD will guarantee "the kids" will be better educated than they have for the past SPLOSTs?
---
L-E headline/story: "MARTIN’S MOM: ZIMMERMAN GOT AWAY WITH MURDER * MIAMI — The mother of Trayvon Martin says she’s disappointed with the Justice Department’s decision not to prosecute her son’s killer." -- Hmmm.. justice was metered...so it's not justice she wanted... it was/is vengeance.. Ms Fulton would do herself more good at just coming to grips with reality.
---
After looking at the "Search and Screen Committee" list looking for the new CSU president, I found it quite overloaded with professors.. in fact, of the 17 members, 9 are professors, or even associate professors. To me, this is like having a majority of foxes on a search committee to find a new henhouse security chief.
---
One thing for sure coming out of the SPLOST discussions is that the architect and general contractor that approved construction methods and built Spencer should be publicly exposed, admonished, mand put on a permanent "banned" list from any future dealing using tax dollars.
---
L-E story: "Back in September, the hot topic at the Muscogee County School Board’s work session was a heated debate about the $3,000 it costs to provide meals for board members after their meetings. * Well, an anonymous donor has settled the argument, making a generous contribution to cover that expense, District 7 representative Shannon Smallman told Chatter on Wednesday. * “I can’t say what that somebody intended,” she said, “but I can imagine it was so that the issue isn’t the center of attention, so we can focus on the important stuff.”" -- Hmmm... so it's OK with the L-E...then why is the L-E upset with lobbyist doing the same thing with Representatives? You know, all extreme lobbying began with a small favor.. does the L-E feel that if a 'favor' is a little, it's not as bad.. of course.. it's those unchecked "little favors" that become "not enough", and escalate into the clandestine bribes of tomorrow. While we're talking about, why is the Civic Center manager still have the power to distribute "free" event tickets to other employees/friends and Councilors. Those "free tickets" are built into the cost the event promoter must charge paying customers to make the event profitable.
---
L-E observation: "And — speaking of money in the wallet — it appears things have improved enough in the economy that the percentage of folks contemplating a delay in their retirement is falling." -- I guess that's how liberals think... more than likely, people are retiring from their businesses before they have to declare bankruptcy and lose the rest of their nest eggs.
---
Online headline: "Grammy-winning singer cancels shows after being denied entry into Canada" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought Canada had pulled in the "Welcome Mat" for Justin Bieber...

Terrorism? That train/truck wreck in California was no accident...a pickup truck driver stopped his truck on the tracks, set his emergency brake, then fled (he was apprehended about a mile away).

---
This push for us to accept a negotiated situation between Iran and HEBDObama is something even Tom Clancy couldn't work credibly into a story plot..Iran has no plan to keep its promise not to build a bomb, and HEBDObama saying Iran is trustworthy just confirms it.

---
On Monday.. the campaigns "for" and "against" a SPLOST kicked off their public efforts. You know.. it's more than ironic that the "yes" supporters had their kickoff at the River Club where they could spoon-feed the media with food and beverages while they reinforced how conscious they are about using tax dollars wisely. On the hand. the "NoSchoolBoardTax.com" advocates rolled up their sleeves and took to the streets where the average working person could see them looking out for the taxpayers.

---
Parking at the CSC for "early voting" may be a violation of voters' rights. You enter in one garage driveway, and you're sent up to the second floor, and if you enter the other one, you either have to have a HDCP tag/medallion or be eligible to use one of the 10 "Reserved" for unnamed government employees. I went by yesterday, and there were only 5 places available for voters to park on the ground floor, and all of those were reserved for government employees..Oh, those are the spaces Councilor Judy Thomas campaigned on as being for the public..

---
A "NO" vote on the 2015 SPLOST is not a vote against SPLOSTs in general, nor against a better education of our community's children..it's simply a note to delay the SPLOST until next year so there's time for proper discussion and analyzation of how our tax dollars can be better used towards that goal. A "NO" vote just says to the MCSD and Board that " we're watching you". The past few Boards have seemed to have forgotten this.

---
Looking through files/items in the MCSD has revealed something I can only describe as nonconforming..maybe even weird. Employee lists group personnel alphabetically, but do so by first/given names. That just seems to he very unprofessional in my opinion.

---
You know..when one SPLOST ends, if it was successful in bringing good education to its apex, then the public would be eager to see/know how a new SPLOST could keep the ball moving. This last SPLOST failed to do this, so let's get the MCSD straightened out .. not only on what we expect, but what we want.
---
L-E "headlie"/story: "It's official: MCSD's proposed SPLOST projects can't be prioritized before referendum * If waiting for the Muscogee County School Board to prioritize the proposed sales tax projects is keeping you from early voting, then wait no longer. * It can’t happen before the referendum." -- The only truth in this is that the SPLOST wording on the ballot can't be changed.. but there's nothing that prohibits a honest Superintendent from sharing the truth with the taxpayers.. Lewis and 7 members of the Board just do not want to pin them selves down to specific projects and priorities. These 8 just want a super-sized slush fund that they can divvy up as they see fit.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "The power to question is the basis of all human progress." - Indira Gandhi, Indian political leader ( 1917-1984)" -- Whoa.. you can bet this slogan is not on the walls of the MCSD Board room nor at any of the SPLOST forums!
---
Jonathan Gruber EXTRA-EXTRA-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "f previous Board members had been like Myers and Thomas, Kinnett Stadium and Northside would not exist, Jordan would be shuttered, and Columbus High would have been torn down instead of rebuilt after its fire." -- When Columbus High was rebuilt and Kinnett was built, it was in the 80's, and we had an appointed school board.. in fact. we had a school board of concerned people who by law could not do business with the school system. Why does the L-E allow.. maybe even manufacture such false information? Oh, I know, the L-E agenda benefits.

---
Online headline: "Katy Perry looks unrecognizable without makeup" -- You know.. as long as celebrities have to "put their face on" to be recognizable in public, then why don't they jus put on a face of respectability and decency?

---
ISIS has taken 100 +/- Christians in Syria.. in Iraq, there is concern that Christians will be wiped out.. Where are peace loving Muslims/Islamists standing up for religious rights for all? Why is this genocidal movement of secondary importance to American mainstream media. This is Holocaust II, but Islamist terrorist are publicizing their hatred where Hitler tried to conceal his .

Yesterday, I encouraged everyone to read Chuck William's column.. it was about a federal judge's comments on doing his duty to make decisions based on the US Constitution, not personal feelings/desires. * Hopefully Chuck will go after judges that use the court to write/rewrite the laws to reflect their personal agenda versus what the Constitution says.

---
Online headline: "Obama defies GOP by vetoing Keystone XL" -- Hmmm now HEBDObama is drawing "red lines" with his pen. Will the Republicans lay down or do what ASSwad in Syria did.. cross the red lines HEBDObama drew in the sand?

---
Online headline: "DOJ: No charges for Zimmerman" -- Good grief... the DOJ didn't have a reason to even stick its nose into the situation, and now is trying to suggest its doing everyone a favor...

---
Hey, Pric Holder... speaking of places you've errantly stuck your nose into, how about using it to "root out" Al Sharlatan.. the families of Garner (NYC), Brown (Ferguson), and Trayvon Martin are in unison that Al Sharlatan has basically confiscated moist of the "donations" he collected in their names.

---
Apparently the Cleveland Browns are getting a new logo.. it's basically the same, but with new shades.. One fan summed it up trendily.. "Fifty Shades of Orange".. Not bad.. but there's a better choice.. "Fifty Years of Failure".

---
Online headline: "Man found guilty of murder defends himself, seeks death penalty" -- Good grief.. the man killed his girlfriend AND his 5-YEAR OLD SON! Now, his seeking his own death has resulted in the DA giving him a plea-bargain "out". It's bad enough that liberals don't feel and crime is heinous enough for the death penalty, but now we have DA's abandoning what was a terrific opportunity to rid the world of another vermin.
Of course, the worse thing is that even if the DA got the death sentence, some liberal activist judge would have thrown it out based on no sane person wants to die...
---
Online headline: "GUILTY: Ex-Marine gets life in jail for killing 'American Sniper' Chris Kyle" -- Geez -- sentenced to "life"... whatta misnomer..and miscarriage of justice.
---
Online story: "A senior State Department official in charge of federal counterterrorism programs was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly soliciting sex from a minor, Fox News has learned. * Daniel Rosen was arrested by a county detective about noon at his Washington, D.C. home after he allegedly sought to arrange sex with a minor. * Rosen, who is the director of counterterrorism programs and policy at the State Department, was arrested and transported to the D.C. jail" -- Well... I guess HEBDObama can point to getting one lone-wolf terrorist off the streets...
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Most Republicans Don't Think Obama Loves America" -- Well, when HEBDObama insists he's a patriotic American.. isn't the first thing we have to do is assume its another lie? What's sad is that Democrats feel he does love America...
---
Online story: "Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) reportedly threatened to accuse President Barack Obama of anti-Semitism and sexism if she was ousted as DNC chair." -- Hmmm .. so much for equal pay/treatment... Know Nuthink Schultz was/is a rolling bus accident trying to happen. Of course, she's not very original.. seems Janet Reno got to keep her AG job in '96 after Waco when it seemed obvious Clinton should get a new one..but, then Monica happened...
---
While I don't think convictions should necessarily be an automatic exclusion, there's a little variable that give state officials more prejudice than private businesses: Item 5 of the "Ban the Box" law signed by Deal says,
"Shall not affect applications for sensitive governmental positions in which a criminal history would be an immediate disqualification and initial disclosure on such applications shall still be required."
Surely, private businesses need to know this upfront.. especially businesses dealing with opther people's money and children.
---
Online story: "Irving, TX immigration lawyer and Obama supporter, Sherin Thawer, was arrested on federal fraud charges and for forging applications of illegal immigrants. * Sherin Thawer was invited to the Obama White House last year to discuss immigration reform." -- Good grief.. looks like there's a new category we have to add to our country's immigration problem.. illegal lawyering. What's with HEBDObama.. just in the last two days we have cases of the VA head admitting to lying, the DNC head claiming discrimination, a State Department official caught soliciting minors, and now this.. what does today and tomorrow hold?
---
Hmmm.. Isaiah Crowell went back to school, and his 5th grade teacher revealed her discipline methods.. time proven, successful methods even when I was in school..according to the L-E, "She had a stick they had named Bruno, she said. * “And each time he got into a little bit of trouble, I’d give him a tap-tap on the hip and there wouldn’t be any more trouble,” she said." -- I'm now waiting for tomorrow's headline where this teacher has been fired for striking a student.....Anyway, I am glad to hear the words of Isaiah Crowell... let's pray he walks-the-walk now.
---
L-E headline: "Council approves Claflin School project * Council denies administration’s proposal to make MLK Blvd 3 lanes" -- Wow.. if Council follows through on the Claflin conditions, these are two sane decisions for a change.. MLK Blvd does not need to bottleneck car traffic for one of Mayor TomLYINGson's pet projects, and I'm glad Council has stepped up to the plate.

Jeh Johnson warned Americans to be careful if they went to Mall of America yesterday... Hmmm..did he specially mean Judeo-Christian Americans or all Americans?
---
Online story: " Edging toward a historic compromise, the U.S. and Iran reported progress Monday on a deal that would clamp down on Tehran's nuclear activities for at least 10 years but then slowly ease restrictions on programs that could be used to make atomic arms." -- Good grief... first swapping five terrorist for a deserter, now this.. what happened to the "we... excuse me, I, don't negotiate with terrorist" policy?
---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Leaked Documents Reportedly Reveal Mossad Less Worried About Iran's Nuke Program Than Netanyahu * Israel's Mossad spy agency in October 2012 had a less alarmist view of Iran's nuclear program than an assessment delivered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the United Nations just a few weeks earlier, according to a purported secret cable published Monday by two media outlets. * in the document published Monday by The Guardian and Al-Jazeera, the Mossad is quoted as saying "Iran at this stage is not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons."" -- Hmmm.. "Al-Jazeera"? "The Guardian"? Good grief...like two social liberal, pro-marxist icons make an analysis of something 2-to-3 years old, and the left considers it communication from above.. wonder if either wonders whether Mossad would issue a public stance that would reveal its true position to begin with..
---
L-E headline: "TALK ENDS IN PROPOSAL TO LIMIT IRAN'S NUCLEAR PRODUCTION * Proposal would limit Iran’s nuclear production for at least 10 years" -- Good grief.. even mainstream media should be wary of any promise from a source that lies more than HEBDObama and his minions..
---
Online headline: "Obama sets his sights on fixing retirement plans" -- Good grief.. just when I'm about to apply for "my" Social Security deductions, Obamageddon thinks he's a financial wizard..
---
HuffPOOPOO "headlie": "Marijuana is now legal in Alaska. * Alaska on Tuesday becomes the third U.S. state to end prohibition of marijuana," -- You know... no matter what a state does about marijuana. while it may be tolerated or a non-crime in a state.. it's still not "legal".. My question is.. why is the DOJ not cracking down on the minority states that are in opposition to existing federal laws that govern the states, yet have no qualms about attacking the majority of states that have laws against same-sex marriages?
---
HuffPOO headine: "Oscar Ratings Slip To Six-Year Low" -- Wow.. in spite that my bride and I actually watched a couple of hours of it for the first time in I know 15 years (how long we've been married). Guess the liberal-lovefest has committed TV suicide...
---
You know.. I'll bet ABC had no clue to the backlash the Oscar emcee would generate.. but when you think about it.. there wasn't a single person in the theater or TV audience that felt threatened ...or affronted for that matter.. no ladies of either persuasion were interested nor any males felt displaced by an alternative lifestyle display.
---
Oh, did you notice how many male Oscar winners were so inclined, even eager, to point out they were married to women?
---
Online headline: "VA Secretary Robert McDonald admits lying about Special Forces service" -- Good grief.. is it a prerequisite of being appointed by Obamageddon to be a pathological liar?
---
L-E story: "Regardless of the debate, 417 residents evidently had read and heard enough about the proposed SPLOST by Monday at 7 p.m., when the first day of early voting ended. * Nancy Boren, executive director of the Muscogee County Board of Elections and Registrations, was “a little surprised” by the turnout. It was around double the amount she expected the first day, especially considering the rainy weather at 7 a.m." -- Hmmm... If this much interest was stirred for day 1 of the early voting stage, it makes sense that voters are eager to stop this SPLOST. People vote on emotion, and emotion is motivating the voters.
---
From above L-E story: "Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and two Columbus councilors, Jerry “Pops” Barnes and Judy Thomas, in her capacity as chairwoman of the Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation, voiced support Monday for renewing the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax * The endorsements began Monday with the foundation’s afternoon gathering of about two dozen supporters overlooking the Chattahoochee RiverWalk at Bay Avenue and 10th Street. Thomas, one of the 10-member council’s two citywide representatives, explained the symbolism." "explained the symbolism"? You bet she did.. it's a stone's throw away from the most infamous no-bid tax project ever conceived by a local government...a $244,000.00 toilet facility.
---
Oh.. and since Mayor TomLYINGson is so proud of Whitewater, why doesn't the media.. even the MCSD, get her to expound on how much revenue the Whitewater rafting fees will generate in SPLOST revenues.. I'll tell you why.. the total is ZERO! The state nor Columbus collects any sales taxes on the fees (about $50.00 bucks a pop) charged to ride on the publics river.
---
You know..if we can stop this SPLOST at the ballot box, what gets lost? A year delay? On the other hand, a year delay gives time for proper discussion and planning. A year gives the MCSD Board an opportunity to demonstrate it is capable of identifying and properly using the assets the taxpayers have provided. Time is our friend...whether you are a student or a taxpayer.
---
You know.. on the list of employees on the MCSD website, Transportation lists 326 employees (plus an additional 16 categorized under "Lorenzo Road" (which is the maintenance shed are for the buses). That's 342 employees in the transportation area. Now.. since we know that there are 207 bus drivers, that means there are an additional 135 employees getting paid under the transportation umbrella.. Transportation... if you;re not a driver or mechanic.. or the person in charge of the computer scheduling software, what is there to do in for other 118 employees in the Transportation Department?
---
Have you noticed that the most vocal supporters of the SPLOST are employees and politicians, and that the opposition is not against SPLOSTs per se, but against continued financial abuse. Have you also noticed that ideas of improvements, of change, are coming from the opposition rather than those that control the purse strings.
---
Online headline: "Rasmussen: 43% of Dems Believe Obama Should Have the Right to Ignore Court Rulings if it’s ‘Important’" -- In a word.. scary.. on the other hand, less than half of Democrats feel it's OK for Obamageddon to act on his on whims. Now, Rasmussen should have asked those 43% if a Republican were president, would they feel it OK for him to ignore Court Rulings if it was "Important" to him...
---
Online story: "On CNN today (19th/20th), host Carol Costello was discussing the President's summit on extremism and made a startling comment. * She begins by echoing one of the Obama administration's frequent moral equivalency talking points, that terror is neither unique to Islam, nor is Islam necessarily the worst offender, and then takes off from there. * "ISIS isn't the only threat for Americans. According to an intelligence report by the Department of Homeland Security, authorities are also concerned about right wing citizens extremists right here in the United States that may be, in some cases, more dangerous than foreign Islamic terror groups." -- "more dangerous than Islamic terror groups"? Well at least she admitted there are ISLAMIC terror groups.
---
L-E headline/story: "Council to decide fate of historic Claflin School * Friends of Historic Claflin proposal would restore, lease buildings * Under the terms of the agreement, the city would enter into a multi-phased, multi-year contract with FHC. It calls for the group to maintain the property and its landscaping for the duration and to be responsible for carrying an acceptable level of insurance, with the city named as being insured, too. * For the period of the contract, the city will lease the property to FHC for $1 a year and, if the terms are met, the property would be deeded over to the group under the terms of its deed restrictions." -- So far, so good... now, an additional clause needs to be inserted in the agreement... that then organization provide/maintain an IRS 501 (c) 3 (or possibly "4") status, and that the organization provide an annual Form 990 to the Council attorney.
---
Jonathan Gruber stu... uh, extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Yes, by all means let’s deny the illegal aliens’ children, many born here, free education and food. That way they can join the Zetas or M13 when they can’t find jobs." -- Well I certainly can see that providing free education and food has attracted Zetas and M13s to our country, but why would anyone want to keep them here?
---
L-E story: " Today, without any fanfare or speech, President Barack Obama will issue his first veto of 2015. By refusing to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline bill, Obama will usher in a new and contentious relationship with the Republican-controlled Congress that will likely result in many more vetoes before he leaves office" -- You know.. if Obamageddon had just won a first election and was thrust into an antagonist situation with carry-over opposition in the House and Senate, one could say, he's standing up for the principlas that got elected on a reform basis.. the truth is opposite, though. When first elected, he brought a tsunami of Democrats into both Chambers.. both Chambers had majorities of liberals. Now, in his final two years, the American people have revolted against his "Hope and Change ". This veto is not an act of keeping the ideals he went into office with, it's an affront to the will of the people...Remember this in 2016 when Democrats want your money and vote..
---
Do you wonder if the Screen Actors Guild is oblivious as to why "The People's Choice" and Golden Globe" award recipients are better received by the public? Hey SAG.. try another voting schematic.. even you ratings are "SAGging".
---
L-E commentary headline by Chuck Williams of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer: "Chuck Williams: Federal judge gives civil rights speech to local bar association" -- This is as fine and timely and powerful story, recap, presentation Chuck Williams has ever presented. Don't miss reading it:

---
L-E story: " (MLB) Commissioner Rob Manfred says new rules intended to speed up the pace of games are aimed at luring younger fans to baseball." -- Good grief.. what's he planning to do.. have managers "send signals to players and fans via "twitter"?
---
L-E story: " The Minority Coaches Association of Georgia will hold its annual football coaches conference on Thursday and Friday at Columbus State University." -- Good grief.. why do people think calling attention to one's minority status will bring about diversity and personal acceptance of one's talents?

Two minutes into the Oscars, and I'm ready to change stations, but will watch a while longer with my bride ... It took one sentence before Doogie was full-fledged politically correct... not factually, but politically. I did notice one blatant fact that Doogie will not touch...there was enough bling present to fully fund Obamageddon's desires of redistribution and reparations.

---
On thing for sure.."Best Supporting Actress" winner Patricia Arquette's impassioned plea for equal pay/rights for women was shot down completely when Doogie walked out to the microphone wearing "tightie whities".

---
Before that, Patricia Arquette had already lost her case for equal pay/rights for women.. she accepted the Oscar for "Best Actress".. a category no men were eligible.. Ah, Hollywood.. thou gender bias betrays thou...
---
We definitely knew what the Best Picture was.. guess that's why Hollywood redistributed American Snipers Oscars to others ..

---
Some of those Oscar weiners..uhhh.. winners should have been welcomed on stage at the microphone with Bradley Cooper "painting" them with a laser pointer when they exceeded their speech time.

---
Online story: "FBI Director James Comey, the man charged with preventing terror attacks in America, was not invited to the Islamic love-fest although his Russian counterpart, Aleksandr Bortnikov, of the Russian Federal Security Service was. The White House explained that the reason behind the snub of Comey was due to a desire on their part avoid having the event being “too focused on law enforcement issues.” -- "too focused on law enforcement"? Well...HEBDObama does like to enforce only the laws he approves of... or makes up...
---
Online quote source: "“One measure of your success will be the degree to which you build up others who work with you. While building up others, you will build up yourself.” - James E. Casey, founder UPS" -- Hmmm.. another "truth" that doesn't grace the walls of the Oval Office...
---
Online story: "Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced Australia will strengthen immigration laws and crack down on groups that incite hatred under a raft of counterterrorism measures introduced Monday in a bid to combat the threat from home-grown terrorists." -- Hey, Boehner and McConnell.. see if Abbott will loan you some backbone...
---
Online story: "President Barack Obama is open to negotiating with Congress on his request for new authorization for military force against Islamic State militants, including his proposed three-year time limit on U.S. military action and the use of American troops, according to the White House." -- open to negotiating"? Sounds like Br'er Rabbit trying to get Br'er Boehner and Br'er McConnell to toss into dat der briarpatch...
---
L-E headline.story: "Anyone have info on mystery truck? * "There is a very nice black truck that has been parked just off the road (in what appears to be an old driveway) on Moon Road for three or four weeks," -- Hmmm..Has anyone checked with the MCSD? They can't keep up with where they've "parked" so many other tax dollars in town...
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I never thought I’d say this about the president, but he might be doing right by waiting until the Middle Eastern countries form a coalition and ask for our help." -- Good grief... neither the Mid-East nor HEBDObama has asked Israel to be a member...
---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I’m glad I don’t live in Myers’ or Thomas’ district. The constituents in my district want to improve the school district, not dismantle it." -- Never have seen where maintaining the "status quo" of a sinking ship has ever got the ship back home to safety..
---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Columbus’ greatest jewels — Trade Center, Olympic softball, RiverWalk, downtown revitalization, RiverCenter, whitewater, Benning, CSU, Aflac, TSYS, National Infantry Museum — resulted from people saying “Yes.” Not “No.” Let’s keep heading in that direction." -- Hmmm.. can you name me any of the local "movers and shakers" that have been publicly educated in the last 20 years of elected school board help?
---
L-E guest commentary: "In Georgia today, there is certainly enough representation (159 counties, as a start) but arguments are still about money, where it'll come from and how it'll be spent. * The immediate goal at the General Assembly is providing $1.1 million in funds for transportation without asking the people to pay for it, and the legislators have seldom been as creative in preparing its request as they have this year. * No one pretends to fully understand the proposal being studied by the legislature -- don't call it a tax increase, which is against Republicans' religion. The $1.1 billion will be collected through a shell game in which revenue is moved around to produce the desired result but no one can identify the exact hand in their pocket. * "We don't feel this is a tax increase," said State Sen. Jay Roberts of Ocilla, chair of the Transportation Committee." -- You know... being fiscally responsible with our money might help more than anything.. Our GA DOT is quite inflexible about how it does things. Remember the proposed widening of 13th Street years ago.. the one that would have raped the Lakebottom area? GA DOT wanted to ram a 5-lane monstrousity from Dixon Drive to the 13th Street Bridge when all that was needed was some minor widening of what was already an old-dimensioned 4 lane road. Thank God Council stood up for Columbus, and GA DOT "took it's ball and ran home". Now the GA DOT wants to spend $2.3 MILLION on the intersection of Double Churches Road and Veterans Parkway.. why.. because a logging truck tipped its load trying to make a t=right turn onto Double Churches where there is a sharply reverse banked section of road between Veterans Parkway and the railroad track.. GA DOT could simply erect a "No Right Turn for Semi's, Loggers, and Loaded Dump Trucks" sign for $100.00 or so and end the problem.
---
I have a question about the AP program in the MCSD... how come college level course are being taught yet the overall average of graduations and test results are so miserable? The MCSD cannot blame the SAT as being biased when the AP course are also set up by (and tested by) the SAT. You would think having what basically constitutes a "booster shot" would give the overall test scores a "pop".
---
Good grief.. the world Soccer/Futbal have scheduled the 2022 World Cup Games is Qatar... how welcome, how safe, will team from Judeo-Christian counties be?

HuffPOO headline: "Rudy Giuliani: I Received Death Threats In Wake Of Obama Comments" -- Hmmm.. sorta like Charlie Hebdo when he riled the Muslim world...really makes you pause and think..
---
HuffPOO headline: "Scott Walker: 'I Don't Really Know' Whether Obama Loves America" -- Hmmm... you know.. HEBDObama says he does,,, but what are your personal opinions about whether he ever tells the truth.. whether he CAN tell the truth...
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "White House Looks To Undercut Netanyahu Speech" -- Hmmm sorta like a riled Muslim... really makes you pause and think...well, it should,
---
For you number crunchers:

---
Online headline/story: "10 RICHEST PEOPLE WHO DID NOT FINISH COLLEGE * Mary Kay Ash, Halle Berry, Michael Dell, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Rachel Ray, John D. Rockefeller, Steven Spielberg, Mark Zuckerberg, and Walt Disney.... Hmmm guess Governor Scott Walker is in pretty good company as to making something other than a fool of himself like Howard Dean, III.
---
9% "poor" roads...when you think about this... a lot of questions arise... what are the names of the other conditions roads can be considered.. (great, OK, so-so, poor?)? what Council Districts are these 9% (and where are the top 9%?) hmmm, how about the L-E publishing the names..
---
L-E story: "The 2015 SPLOST would help replenish the computers in those labs when they are outdated. If the referendum passes, the $25 million will pay for around 25,000 more devices, Pleasant said. But that doesn't mean the district would have an additional 25,000 devices, because the new computers are replacing old ones in a five- or six-year span, he said." -- Hmmm... 25,000 computers to be purchased/replaced... that's almost as many students as we have in the entire system... does you child have one issued/supplied by the MCSD? Other people's children are getting them...
---
Another thing...the cost of computers.. a MacBook Air can be bought for $899.00 individually. good notebooks can be bought for under $600.00, even under $400.00, and "game speed upgrades" should not be an issue as they are for school needs. And software.. why will the MCSD but the full versions of Moicrosoft Office when "Open Office" is available for FREE. What we have is a situation where the tech buyer is spending other people's money, and enjoying the attention of being wined and dined by sale reps.
---
Oh.. the L-E forgets there are specific rules about the SPLOST, and it conveniently leaves out the issue of the 2015 SPLOST maintenance requests, the law: "A special-purpose local-option sales tax (SPLOST) is a financing method for funding capital outlay projects in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is an optional 1% sales tax levied by any county for the purpose of funding the building of parks, schools, roads, and other public facilities. The revenue generated cannot be used towards operating expenses or most maintenance projects."
---
Too bad the L-E didn't start parsing the SPLOST concerning the $7,200,000.00 plugged in for baseball/softball improvements at 5 schools.. that's $1,440,000.00 average for each school. Ironically, the L-E did a great piece Saturday on how Calvary Christian just did a major overhaul on it's baseball facility for $200,000.00.. Hire the parents and contractors from that project, and all 5 public high schools could be done for less that the cost of one of the projects.
---
L-E story on 2015 SPLOST "facility upgrades:
Plants services employees inspected each facility to determine the needs for the next five years, Hecht said.
"Someone contacts the principal of the school to get their ideas," he said, "and then they make their own assessments."
The $28 million request comprises:
• $11.5 million for finishes, such as carpeting, flooring, wall surfaces, ceilings, windows and doors.
• $10 million for heating, ventillation and air conditioning.
• $3.1 million for electrical systems.
• $2 million for site issues, such as erosion, paving, parking, sidewalks and storm drains.
• $1.5 million for disability code compliance.
• $1.5 million for arts and humanities acoustical treatments.
• $930,000 for plumbing.
Hmmmm ...Looks like 100% maintenance... and what does the GA SPLOST Law say about maintenance? " The revenue generated cannot be used towards operating expenses or most maintenance projects."
---
L-E story: "MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama Education Association board on Saturday took steps to dismiss executive secretary Henry Mabry after an audit raised concerns about the financial management of the powerful teachers’ lobby. * The audit revealed problems about a lack of financial controls, appropriate checks and balances and management decisions, Gibson said." -- Hmmm... audits work.. once again.. why would anyone be against an audit if there wasn't something going on?
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Can you imagine being a supervisor yet not being allowed to hire the people you supervise? The Chief of Operations and Facilities works for Dr. Lewis, not the board." -- Hmmm... the question is whether the Board approves/approved the particular job... in advance.. remember when John Phillips hired a friend from Texas.. and who actually moved to Phenix City before the Board knew about it? Trouble was that Phillips hired the guy to do Phillips' job, and at half Phillips' salary.. I suggested the MCSD Board fire Phillips instead, and take advantage of saving all of Phillips' salary, and getting the job done for half-price.. Of course, the Board dismissed the unapproved guy and kept Phillips.. we all know how that went...
---
From Purchases portion of Columbus' City Manager's Agenda: " Veterans Parkway and Double Churches Road Intersection Improvements: It is requested that council authorize the execution of a construction contract with * C. W. Matthews Contracting Company Inc., in the amount of $2,296,398.81 for intersection improvements at Veterans Parkway and Double Churches Road. The work includes but is not limited to grading, resurfacing, pavement markings, storm drain pipes, median, curbs and gutters, sidewalks and wheelchair ramps, landscaping and erosion control and traffic lighting and signs." -- Good grief.. this work is suppose to fix a condition where Veterans Parkway is about 2,5 feet below the railroad grade 30 feet away that contributed to the turning over of a logging truck as it attempted to make a 90 degree turn off Veterans onto Double Churches Rd.. Good grief... $2.3 million will not fix the problem, but a $100.00 sign simply say, "Logging Trucksm Loaded Dump Trucks, and Semi's - no right turns" The only other two option would be to raise Veterans 2.5' or tunnel under the railroad like Council decided at the Buena Vista Rd spiderweb..

An 86 story residential tower in Dubai went up in flames.. Fire started on the 52nd Floor and there are no reported deaths or injuries. I think "reported deaths and injuries" is the key thought to remember.
---
Online story: "Federal prosecutors filed multiple criminal charges against Duke Energy on Friday over years of illegal pollution leaking from coal ash dumps at five North Carolina power plants. * Duke said Friday in statements and court filings that it has already negotiated a plea agreement under which it will admit guilt and pay $102 million in fines, restitution and community service. The company said the costs of the settlement will be borne by its shareholders, not passed on to its electricity customers." -- "not passed on to its electricity customers"? Good grief... Pinocchio's nose just grew another trunk! I'm sure the NC PSC is structured like the GA PSC and Duke Energy will just roll it's fines into its expenses and ask for a rate increase rubber stamp.....
---
Online story: "Temperatures dropping close to 0 degrees at home? That's nothing to folks in Embarrass, Minnesota. * On Thursday, the community reported a temperature of 41 below zero - without the wind chill factor." -- "without the wind chill factor"? Good grief... wouldn't wind freeze still, too?
---
Online headline: "Ex-first lady becomes first to head to prison" -- Ooops, my bad... it wasn't Hillewinsky.
---
Online headline: "WH confesses to embarrassing Obamacare flub" -- As Elizabeth Barrett Browning might react.. "How did I flub thee, let me count the ways". You know, what's really sad is none of HEBDObama's other flubs are embarrassing to him.....or as Browning might paraphrase, "Let me count the frays".
---
Online headline: "Obama admin fights ruling on immigration" -- Good grief.. circumventing Congress isn't enough for HEBDObama.. now he's trying to circumvent the judicial system as well.. Supreme Court , can you hear him now? How does even a president file an appeal for a stay on a federal ruling on a Constitutional issue he caused with an Executive Order that bypassed Congress illegally?
---
Online headline: "You've never seen Kanye like this before" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought someone caught him being polite.. civil.. playing well with others...

Online headline: "Creepy lottery fraud uncovered in New Jersey * An audit released this week revealed that dozens of winners were concealing a pretty dark secret. * An audit released this week also found the lottery failed to recover up to $890,000 in taxes and other obligations from winners. * But audit states the lottery wasn't verifying Social Security numbers on all claim forms and found 680 instances where unconfirmed information was given - 46 of which had dead people's Social Security numbers and names" -- Oh! so audits do work...
---
Former MCSD Board member Fife Whiteside's online commentary website fully exposes why we need a forensic audit......transparency. Her is the link to his website:
As noted just above this.. Audits do work.... and are necessary...
An audit of student addresses will reveal a Columbus High soccer player who has been allowed to use a secondary Muscogee County address instead of her family's Harris County home of many years... and not paying out-of-county fees that are on the books.
---
Online quote source: " “All things are subject to interpretation. Whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.” - Friedrich Nietzsche" -- Oh.. the old "ends justifies the means" gambit raised to new heights by mainstream media coverage of Fergiuson...

Wow....I just received a new ID card in the mail for my new cat.. Think I'll run out Monday and see if I can get him registered to vote.

Online headline: "Obama: Americans Are Inviting Jihad By Criticizing Islam" -- Yeah... just ignore a problem and it will go away... sorta like how our MCSD handles the results of the CRCT scores...
---
Online headline: "Baseball games are about to be much shorter * Major League Baseball and the Players Association announced rule changes on Friday regarding the pace of play during games." -- Yeah.. right.. the game may be quicker, but the delays for ads will make up for any time "quickened".

L-E headline/story: "EDUCATION * Muscogee County has two AP Honor Schools for 2015 * Columbus and Northside among 609 in Georgia * Columbus High School is listed in four of the five categories for which it was eligible, and Northside High School is included in one. There are six categories in total:
• AP STEM Schools, 198: Columbus, Northside, LaGrange and Troup County are the area schools in this category. These schools had students test in at least two AP math courses and at least two AP science courses.
• AP STEM Achievement Schools, 121: Columbus, LaGrange and Troup County are the area schools in this category. These schools had students test in at least two AP math courses and at least two AP science courses, and at least 40 percent of those scores were 3 or higher."
I am proud we have 2 high schools recognized for above average performances, but we do have 9 total.. Sadly, one of those.. our newest most advanced campus is actually a "STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)" magnet school, but it did not merit consideration, nor did the school which the MCSD wants to teardown and build anew, and it is the "Academy of Computer Science & Electronic Game Design" which should be excelling in "STEM" categories..
---
In the above story, Dr Lewis said this, "The successful magnet program benefit the schools, Lewis said, because they "foster a culture of high expectations, as evidenced by their student participation and performance on this rigorous coursework and related assessments." -- If designating a school a "magnet" is the cure-all.. why are all our magnet schools qualifying?

L-E's "Today in History" feature: " In 1965, black Muslim leader and civil rights activist Malcolm X, 39, was shot to death inside Harlem’s Audubon Ballroom in New York by assassins identified as members of the Nation of Islam." -- So neighborhood black-on-black crime is not just limited to Chicago and Columbus, and Islamist terrorists don't exist..
---
You know.. I do not have problems with school curriculums that are labeled "Liberal Arts" .. it's liberal professors teaching those classes that are the problem.. graduates have to experience a learning curve after they graduate...

L-E story: " SAVANNAH, Ga. — Convicted of extortion and illegal gambling, Savannah’s former police chief will continue to collect a pension worth nearly $130,000 a year while he serves 7 ½ years in federal prison.
* That comes to more than $970,000 before taxes. * Some City Council members have called for revoking or slashing the retirement benefits of former Savannah-Chatham County Police Chief Willie Lovett, who was sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge earlier this month. * But City Attorney Brooks Stillwell told council members Thursday a state law that forces convicted public employees to surrender a chunk of their pensions can’t be applied to the ex-chief." -- Great lesson.. crime does pay.. and pay.. and pay... if you are a government employee.. I do have a question: Why hasn't the Council fired the City Attorney? His answer is was not the one to give to Council.. something like, "I've already started appealing the laws that govern this" would have shown more interest in his community.
---
L-E story: " The Georgia Bureau of Investigation discovered it had sent the wrong body for burial in Augusta after an employee at the state crime lab noticed that a corpse being prepared for pickup wasn’t the right person, according to an executive report from the agency." -- Good grief... and we'll be paying their pensions, too.
---
L-E story: " As recently as a year ago, the Calvary Christian baseball team was battling more than just the players in the opposing dugout. * Issues with the facilities and, more importantly, the field caused catchers to throw multiple feet downhill to second base and pitchers to throw uphill across the plate. When it rained, the unlevel field didn’t drain properly and players didn’t have an indoor alternative to continue practice. Amenities like restrooms for players and spectators were an afterthought. * That all changed over the offseason, and when the Knights begin their regular season at 11 a.m. today, it’ll be on a field that coach Steve Smith says rivals any in the area. * Calvary Christian is putting the finishing touches on a $200,000 project that gave the baseball program new home and away dugouts, a press box, an improved infield, a new backstop and spectator seating, a clubhouse, three restrooms, a concessions stand, a scoreboard and a three-lane indoor hitting facility, which is currently still in progress." -- What a timely story... the MCSD 2015 SPLOST has $7,200,000.00 set in it to renovate baseball/softball fields at 5 high schools.. that's an average of $1,440,000.00 per school...yet a local private high school just accomplished a pretty difficult renovation for $200,000.00 ... bet they did on a "bid", rather than "no-bid" basis. Just think about this when the MCSD says it "needs" $56,000,000.00 to build a new ...unneeded at that.. high school and "needs" over $11,000,000.00 to build another multi-sport complex...

Online story: "A U.S. military official on Thursday outlined plans to retake the key Iraq city of Mosul from Islamic State terrorists as early as April -- an unusual move that immediately drew criticism from two U.S. intelligence officers." -- Why hasn't HEBDObama fired this official.. Hmmm, a very good question...why?
---
Online story: "Iran's foreign minister and lead negotiator in nuclear talks with the United States has been ordered by the Islamic Republic's Supreme Leader to stop shouting and yelling at Secretary of State John Kerry during negotiating sessions. Online story: "The Wall Street Journal reports that the 60 companies who lobbied Clinton's State Department between 2009 and 2013 donated over $26 million to the Clinton Foundation in that period. The donors include instantly recognizable names like General Electric, Exxon Mobil, and Boeing. * The Journal also reports that at least 44 of the 60 companies participated in philanthropy projects valued at $3.2 billion set up by the Clinton Global Initiative, which is a wing of the foundation. At least 25 of the companies also contributed to 15 public-private partnerships created by Clinton and coordinated by the State Department. * there is no evidence that any laws were broken," -- "there is no evidence that any laws were broken"? Good grief... the Clintons make sure there is no connectable evidence,, well, Bill did slip up on "the blue dress", but that's only because the laws were written by lawyers with just enough flexibility to allow other lawyers some wiggle room. It still doesn't mean there were no laws broken.

Online story: "A Utah woman will be the plaintiff and the defendant in a wrongful death lawsuit that has legal experts scratching their heads. * Barbara Bagley was driving her family's Range Rover Dec. 27, 2011 on Interstate 80 near Battle Mountain, Nev., when it slid on sagebrush on Interstate 80, and flipped. Her husband, Bradley Vom Baur, was sent flying from the vehicle, suffered major injuries and died nearly two weeks later in a hospital, according to the Salt Lake Tribune * Now, a Utah court has ruled Bagley, the representative of her late husband's estate, may sue Bagley the driver in the fatal accident for wrongful death." -- "wrongful death"? If that's the case, then the DA should greet Ms Bagley at the court house steps and arrest her for the murder of her husband....Of course, the real travesty hear is that a judge/court even accepted her premise.

L-E commentray: "Findings by the research group TRIP have been presented around the state, including Wednesday at the Government Center, where it was reported that only about 9 percent of the roads in the Columbus metro area are rated in "poor" condition. To put that in context, Savannah is rated as having 36 percent, Atlanta 23 percent and Augusta 19." -- Hmmm...9% of roads being rated "poor" is not indicative of a healthy City condition....Now..are those 9% set to be made whole in the next 3 months?
---
L-E guest opinion: "Vicki Alger: Free market, not 'free' college * The biggest problem with President Barack Obama's proposal to make two-year community college "as free as high school," which he has dubbed America's College Promise, is that the new "free" associate degrees will become as costly and meaningless as many high school diplomas. * For the record, American public elementary and secondary schools already spend more than $13,500 per pupil per year on average -- slightly more than two-year colleges spend. * The national high school graduation rate may have reached an historic high of more than 80 percent, but the average college freshman reads at a middle-school level" -- This must have slipped the L-E publisher's desk..it hits the MCSD "ails" right on the head...

Online story: "After proposing legislation to ensure equal pay for equal work during his annual State of the City address earlier this month, Mayor Kasim Reed signed legislation Tuesday to ensuring that for all female employees of the city of Atlanta." -- Good grief.. cannot politics be set aside for reality? Take baseball... A star pitcher throws 100 pitches in a perfect game.. even no foul balls are hit. The catcher catches them all and pitches them back to the pitcher who also catches them all. On offense, the catcher hits two home runs and the pitcher doesn't even come to bat. Now.. two baseball players have tossed and caught 100 balls...and the catcher even hits two home runs.. have they done equal work and is similar compensation warrantied? Will similar compensation ever occur? Well, maybe in Cuba.

And that’s during an introductory period when it’s free to ride the Atlanta Streetcar." -- Hmmm .. in one year.. reality has surpassed political rhetoric by 50%... imagine the reality of Mayor TomLYINGson's cost estimates of her high speed rails folly in 20130...

HEBDObama and his minions are trying to mimic the Hatfield's&McCoys resolution to end the feud with Islamists. The Hatfield's&McCoys joined together to produce legal moonshine liquor. Of course , to suggest the same avenue to the Islamist would get the messenger's head cut off.

Online story: "Georgia stands to recover $90 million in Medicaid payments following a federal court ruling in Washington. But the details of the judge’s decision paint an unflattering picture of the state agency that handles billions of health care dollars. * Through a series of mistakes, Georgia overpaid the $90 million to the federal government for Medicaid services and didn’t discover the erroneous payments for years. By then, it was well past the time states have to file claims for mistaken payments. * Despite the state’s blunders, a U.S. district judge last week ruled that the federal government must return the money." -- If it's good for the goose, it ought to be good for the gander.. A couple of years ago, I was "invited" to re submit my IRS forms for the past 7 years. Doing so, I added the charitable deductions I usually don't file for. After all the smoke cleared, it turns out that IRS owed me some $17,000+ dollars. IRS quickly decided that refunds from 2005 and 2006 were to late to be refunded (hey, IRS "asked" me to do this), but while IRS admitted refunds for 2010 & 2011 were owed.. I haven't seen the checks YET. Will someone tell me which judge this was?

L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * LEWIS CRITICIZES DEAL'S FAILING SCHOOLS PLAN * Under proposed law, 18% of schools would be eligible for state take over" -- Yeah.. I guess Lewis should... a lot of the SPLOST requests would be spent on those 18% of schools and probably would be commandeered by the State if voters approve the SPLOST. Oh... wonder if Lewis and the carry over MCSD board members know what Deal thinks of their work?
---
Hmmm....I got an idea... add a classroom or two/three each year at the top 20 schools, and close 2 or three failing schools completely.. Perhaps putting students in a world of positive achievement can reeverse the present course.

Jonathan Gruber LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The Ledger-Enquirer should re-run that excellent article on school audits. Apparently, a lot of people either never read it or don’t know how to read." -- Once again.. a forensic audit cost would be about 1/1000th of an annual budget.. possibly less. If it shows up negative of problems. the school system could eliminate the doubts the citizens have, and if there are irregularities, those would be curtailed. Now.. who but someone who is worried about the results would be interested in stopping a forensic audit?
---
Jonathan Gruber extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Here's a fun fact. Automatic weapons and rockets didn't even exist when the Second Amendment was written back in the 1700s." -- Well, TV's, radios, and cellphones didn't exist in the 1770's either, but are covered under the 1st Amendment and others as well.. now something else we have now that barely existed in the 1770's are a proliferation of liberals...

L-E's "Thought for Today" “The life of the nation is secure only while the nation is honest, truthful, and virtuous.” — Frederick Douglass, American abolitionist (born circa 1817, died this date in 1895)." -- Good grief.. L-E story: "BOSTON — A lawyer for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev pressed a federal appeals court Thursday to move his trial out of Massachusetts, citing “saturation publicity” about the case and the large number of people in the state who were personally affected by the deadly attack." -- Hmmm.. I could have my arm twisted to agree, but only if a venue can be found that allows "drawn & quartered" as its preferred execution method. Hey, Iran... are you good with this?

L-E story: "The chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee castigated former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Thursday for comments he made about President Barack Obama, and she called on a field of prospective 2016 GOP candidates to also condemn the remarks. * While speaking at a private dinner in New York on Wednesday night, Giuliani, who ran for president in 2008, said he does not believe Obama “loves America.” -- Well, unfortunately, after the November 2014 election resultds, mainstream media isn't honest enough to ask Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to admit how she feels when not in public....
---
You know.. the MCSD 2009 SPLOST only received $174 Million for the $ $223 Million in wishful projects it covered.. Now the MCSD is asking for another $192 Million at the time FT Benning job losses (hint: sales tax payers) of up to 12,000 people is likely to occur. Why doesn't the SPLOST committee pare down the "wish LUST" to a figure it might actually attain. It would nice for something like this to be determined a success... and accepted by the public when another SPLOST is proposed.
---
From the MCSD website, we learn that 5,224 persons are working for the MCSD.. That list shows, 1197 (including substitute teachers which I assume aren't assigned to particular schools) person in non-school jobs, so I guess that means 4,027 people are actually working on/in actual schools. Now if 2,197 (or 2196, or 2181 depending on which state count you use), then 1,830 (or 1,831 or 1,846) other people are assigned to actual school grounds. It looks like there are about as many non-teaching personnel as there are teaching personnel at each school.. surely.. not that many non-teaching personnel are needed on school grounds. Whether or not 20% of our schools are meeting state failure rates, 100% of our schools look to be failing in being efficient at personnel management... but then again, that probably isn't a course taught in college education majors.

L-E story: " The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits fell sharply last week, a sign that a recent string of strong job gains may continue. * Weekly applications for unemployment aid dropped 21,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 283,000" -- Good grief.. mainstream media is still spinning HEBDObama's numbers.. The fact that most of the mid-west and New England was snowed or iced-in made a huge difference in people getting out to file.. wait until the weather improves and theses figures will bne adjusted upward.

Online story: "More than 100 patients might have been exposed to a potentially deadly superbug bacteria at a California hospital. * In a statement, UCLA said the exposures occurred "during complex endoscopic procedures that took place between October 2014 and January 2015. * "CRE, this superbug, lives in the gut. ... They detected it on endoscopes which are used to do upper GI studies. ... The manufacturer says it's hard to disinfect that scope," * According to a previous press release from the CDC, the superbug bacteria can "kill up to half of patients who get bloodstream infections from them." * CRE has also popped up several times in recent years all across the country. It's what CDC director Dr. Anthony Fauci has referred to as a"nightmare" bacteria. * "It's resistant to virtually all antibiotics." -- Now.. patients from which side of our border started this?

I'm looking at a report on the MCSD website under the GA Report Card for schools. On the same page, one column lists PK-12 teachers by degrees attained - 4 YR, 5 YR, 6 YR, 7 YR, "other". The corresponding numbers are: 688, 1020, 422, 39, 27 for a total of 2196. In the same column, the report also lists PK-12 teachers by other categories: Certified Personnel, Gender, Full/Part Time Personnel, Race/Ethnicity, Years Experience.

According to the Report, we have 66 provisional Certified and 2131 professional certified teachers (total- 2197;
443 male/1753 female (total- 2196),
Full Time2156/Partime 41 (total- 2197);
Total Positions 2181;
Black 653/White 1478/Hispanic 29/Asian 16/Native American 18/Multiracial 2 (total- 2196)

Years Experience: <1- -="" 1-10="" 108="" 11-20="" 21-30="" 404="" 735="" 814="">30 - 135 (total- 2196)

Let's see, according to the GA Report Card figures, we have the total number of PK-12 teachers is either 2197, 2196,or 2181. Who knows?

How can a forensic audit of the MCSD not be demanded?

---
Other interesting figures pulled off the MCSD website are the number of personnel in various areas of the MCSD. Did you know there are 392 people working at the Public Education Center on Macon Road? How about 182 people in School Security? How about 326 in Transportation (yet the number of bus drivers was revealed to be 207)? Or how about 603 Substitute Teachers? Oh, and how about our tax dollars paying for 15 personnel positions at the Columbus Museum (donated to the Museum lately?) and 102 positions at the Columbus Libraries. A forensic audit would reveal the duplicity of work and whether positions are necessary/unnecessary.

---
Now. my favorite figure pulled off the MCSD website.. Records... an important category for any audit, and there is 1.. that's right, 1 person in Records Management. Hmmm, how important is it to be on the good side of that person? Makes you wonder how any, much less a complete, audit can be accurate.

Online story: "In the fight against violent extremism, President Barack Obama has argued the U.S. has one thing going for it that Europe doesn't: a long tradition of warmly embracing its immigrants, including Muslims." -- Good grief.. Jeb Bush is out and about talking politics... he's released a "casual list" of people he's being advised by.. Most are "the usual suspects", but one is Meghan O'Sullivan, a former national security adviser to George W. Bush, who now teaches at Harvard and is seen as key to Jeb Bush's idea of lessening U.S. dependence on Middle East energy. Check back with me in a month or so, and I'll let you know whether Harvard, upon learning it has a "big oil advocate" teaching its students has fired her or not.

Seems like "deflategate" isn't going away. Now it's being revealed the Patriots tried to get an upapproved "K" ball (kicking) into the game for a punt, but an alert official noted the lack of "proper markings" and got an approved one in for the kick. Now.. that in mind, were the "K" balls tested after the game to see if they had suffered any cold weather deflation that is/was claimed by "inflation/deflation experts"?

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Taliban, U.S. To Launch Peace Talks, Sources Say" -- Wait a minute.. how can HEBDObama offer a peace talk with a non-entity? Treaties and such are only authorized with government officials, and HEBDObama says Taliban and al Qaeda, and ISIS/ISIL are neither religions nor governments.
---
HuffPOOPOO story: "a video surfaced late Sunday showing Islamic State fighters beheading 21 men in Libya * The men were laborers, gone for months on end, who sent home hard-earned money to feed entire families. They left their impoverished home in Egypt to work in Libya for a better future, despite the dangers. What they found instead was a militant group hell-bent on humiliating and harming them because they were Christian. While most of the people killed by the Islamic State have been Muslim, the group's recent propaganda video made a point to threaten Christianity as a religion." -- You know.. the men HEBDObama will not refer to as Islamic jihadist openly refer to the men they decapitated as Christians. HEBDObama at least could admit those decapitated men were Egyptian Christians, not just Egyptian citizens.

HuffPOOPOO story: "A new multimillion-dollar federal lawsuit alleges that UPS unlawfully shipped almost 700,000 cartons of untaxed cigarettes in New York, undercutting anti-smoking efforts and depriving the state of millions of dollars in tax revenue * "Our lawsuit alleges that UPS blatantly disregarded New York and federal tax and public health laws, by shipping tens of millions of cheap, untaxed cigarettes to New Yorkers," New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said in a statement Wednesday. "We contend that UPS cost this state millions in revenue and is helping to make illegal, low-cost cigarettes available to our young people, who are disproportionately lured to smoking by lower costs." -- Hmmm.. like UPS opens up packages to see what's in them.....Oh, and since the NY AG has the shipping info, why isn't his suit against the senders/receivers? Oh, and since it involves Native American Reservations, why isn't this a job for the FBI?

He had recently bought the gun and was planning to add it to his collection of antiques, which includes other old firearms, the lawyer said" * Van Gilder said,"Apparently there must be a lot of drive-by flintlock shootings in North Jersey." -- Hey, Chris Christie, explain your gun laws and Second Amendment position!

L-E headline: "Columbus metro area fares well in report on transportation * Group says 9% of local roads listed in ‘poor’ condition" -- 9%...I wonder what route the messenger was taken on to get around the really bad roads? Regardless.. no progressive town should have 9% of its roads considered in "poor" condition. Tommy Buck hasn't filled Red McDaniel's shoes...
---
Watched a video on Fox & Friends of a woman driving on a sidewalk somewhere. If Fox thought that was newsworthy, Fox should come down to Columbus and watch the Post Office deliverers drive on sidewalks all over town to put mail in mail boxes that are accessed from sidewalks rather than the streets. Hmmm.. wonder how the transportation examiners rated the sidewalks used as roads?

Jonathan Gruber LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Is everyone on the MCSD Board of Education incompetent, wasteful, and stupid except for Mr. Myers and Mr. Thomas? I think not." -- Not the issue.. the issue is whether or not Myers and Thomas are the only ones representing the taxpayers first..

L-E's "Today in history" : "In 1942, President Franklin D. Hmmm.. wonder if those new quick charge meters set up in downtown Columbus will charge only for the time until the car batteries are fully charged or for the entire time they are hooked up? A two hour lunch could cost $10.00 to park, and a two hour and 5 minute lunch could cost that $10.00 plus a $30.00 parking fine for overtime parking.
---
Comment on above item: You know, what's really going to happen is that those two spaces for charging will actually end up costing gasoline driven cars to lose parking spaces, and since not that many electric vehicles will actually be used, METRA will more than liklose the opportunity to get parking fines on those spaces. Did anyone consider putting those charging stations on Front Avenue where 8 hour parking is already allowed?

No wonder libs defend Islamists... Islamists also believe the 1969 Moon Walk was faked.
