Last week, I asked ..and paid a fee.. for Home Depot to come out to the condominium just purchased for my daughters. When I got the figures for the different spaces so we could figure out how much it would cost depending on the particular material choices they made, I was surprised that Home Depot had already decided what carpets and wood flooring we were going to install! Isn't this how socialism works.. one entity deciding what other people can have? We want be doing business with Home Depot.

What is it about Mayor TomLYINGson's reign that she not only hires a third party to do property re-assessments when we have salaried personnel manning a dedicated Tax Assessor's Office, but the third party sends out an inquiry and asks homeowners to put legal and financial information on the back of a post card and.mail it back in? Personally, I think anyone who gets his/her identity stolen because of this should  sue Mayor TomLYINGson for the damages.

Oh..Last month,  I asked the banc of MCSB members for some information and the two that responded said the School Administration would not provide such unless I personally filed a "Request for Information" and paid $177.00 for it.Why does any school board member not have full access to any/all facts and figures within the MCSD? Somewhere down the line during Phillips' reign, enough MCSB members put in "blocks" for individual board members to get specific info he/she wanted. The only way to return to a transparency is to elect new MCSB members who will remove this detriment. Vote for, Pete, Vanessa, Shelia, and Joann!

The L-E just "gave the nod" to candidates in the school board races.. for a newspaper board to look at what is.. and isn't happening in improving local education, the L-E sure is against "change"..... Looking at the latest MCSD CCRPI scores for schools shows a mish-mash of turmoil... but.. as long as we have a majority of schools still declining, it means the current curriculum is not working.. nothing can be considered "working" until "the bleeding stops". Electing new members to the school board can start the changes needed.

I made a comment about us being blessed that the only person left in the Sheriff's race was Sheriff Darr himself, and how blessed we are  the most competent is the "last 'man' standing". Mark LaJoye took offense saying Darr was $2M over budget for each of 7 years. I couldn't believe a candidate thinking Darr was responsible for that. Didn't LaJoye "know" that Darr was under fed & court mandates to spend that money on medical/mental treatments? Sure am glad LaJoye is not going to be wearing "the badge".

Just 2 years ago, one board member told me that the MCSD had over 500 buses in inventory and only 207 drivers, and more buses were bought in 2015 and in 2016..A forensic audit should be made of how many buses there are operable, and what is planned for the excess before any more are considered.
