Take a moment in remembrance of brave soldiers who gave their all protecting the lives ..and freedom of Americans. Many in my family have served from the French-Indian War, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, WWI, WWII, and in the Global War Against Terrorism.. Two died in such service, my 5th great-grandfather, Col Joshua Fry,  the Commanding Officer of the Virginia Militia, in 1754 during the French Indian War, and 3-great-uncle, William Henry Kirven during the Civil War. He was captured at Lookout Mountain in 1863, shipped to the federal POW internment camp, Camp Morton, where he died of inhuman conditions, and was unceremoniously buried in a mass grave in 1864. Salute!

Good grief.. the "Bern" has called Trump out as a "flip-flopper" because Trump correctly deemed a pre-convention debate between the two would not be appropriate.. Trump's right... and he should add an addendum that he will if Bernie can muster up the nomination. The Bern" also called Trump a pathological liar".. One of my daughters gave me a Trump 2016 t-shirt for my birthday last month. I wore it on a walk on the beach at Santa Rosa yesterday. It was amazing the number of "thumbs up" smiles and comments I got from fellow vacationers.

As much as I love vacationing on 30a between Panama City and Destin, one community, Seaside, just went on my s*** list. The merchant community just went GREEDY! Every purchase we made was hit with an illegal 1% tax to pay for "Arts&Entertainment". When questioned, wait staff tried to comply with the merchants' request not to call it a tax..but a fee, but it's a tax..an illegal tax, because that group is not authorized to initiate a tax. I'm PO'd because we went there BECAUSE of the "movie night" and paid a premium for food that would have been cheaper elsewhere. I feel double-taxed. Next time, we'll just eat/shop elsewhere before we go, and each time after that until they stop charging that illegal tax.

Hillary just reconfirmed her lack of leadership.....again..remember when she said Bill, a man, was better qualified to run the economy? Well, now she responds to the State Department IG's charge that she broke the laws by saying "everybody else did it" so it's OK for her..A leader would have said "I'm going to obey the laws/rules!"

 WRBL-3 story: "A Harris County sheriff’s deputy is recovering after being shot in the head Saturday evening. Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley tells News 3 Deputy Jamie White was shot just above the left eye during a traffic stop around 7:30 p.m. The deputy stopped an armed driver for speeding around Mile Marker 33 on I-185. * According to Harris County officials, after Garrett handed over his driver’s license, he pulled a pistol out and shot Deputy White above the left eye while he was having about 7-minute conversation with the front seat passenger.  Officials say after the deputy was shot, Garrett got out of the car, picked up his driver’s license and drove off from the crime scene. *  Harris County officials tell News 3 Garrett admitted to shooting the deputy during the traffic stop".

Garrett currently faces the following charges:

Aggravated assault on a police officer
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Obstruction (Felony)
Possession of a firearm during a felony
Fleeing and attempting to elude.

-- Hmmm.. a previously convicted felon.. probably out before his sentence term, using an illegally possessed gun committing a violent felony..AUTOMATIC DEATH PENALTY..

No one should be allowed to remain free for repeating irresponsible acts because they know a public servant doing the right thing will be excoriated by mainscream media. Repeated driving offenders.. like repeating DUI offenders should not only have their licenses confiscated, but also their car (whether it is theirs or one borrowed from a family member/friend). This will promote personal responsibility.
