We were already picking up those costs, and for less money, through indigent care/MedicAID.

After ZERO-bama's shameless exploitation of federal school funds, our MCSB (and your own city's school board) needs to call for forensic audit of all programs to see how much is taken away from local funds to make up for the revenue shortfall from the DOE. We really need to know how much in local taxes we spend making up for underfunded federal programs.

Earlier this week, the GA DOT responded to our concerns about the extensive delays -- currently, the project is in excess of a year in delay, and no one knows for sure, after 4 years, when completion will be. The representative of the GA DOT also stated that new contracts will have "bonuses" for early project completion.. Why? Isn't working hard and completing the contract early a great way for the contractors to enhance the profitability of those contracts? Hey, GA DOT..just put major penalties on the contracys for not completing on schedule, and citizens will be happy.

You know,, trying to create a "day off" for voting (seems sorta superfluous since a lot of states now have 2-3 weeks of "early voting") simply flies in the face of the Founding Fathers.. Voting and freedom are rights responsible people take to heart,, not something to do to because it's a holiday.. Besides, if you make Election Day a holiday, people will eventually stop voting as they take long weekends off to go on a mini-vacation.

You know, the sole purpose of a minimum wage is to create a consistent entry level standard, and an opportunity for new workers to show they are worth more.. not create a career level job. It's probably been 20-25 years ago, but a story of an early retirement option program for the US Postal Service not only caught my eye, it sucker punched me to the floor. One non-supervisory janitor opted to take the "early retirement" offer of 6 months salary bonus just a few weeks before he was set to retire. HIs "bonus" was $15,000.00 . I thought to myself.. how does the US Postal Service justify paying a non-supervisory janitor $30,000.00 annually? (Remember, this was 20-25 years ago). Having been raised in a business world, all janitorial jobs were minimum wage jobs, and raises came when personnel created more efficiency (such as productivity gains could educe the sheer numbers of janitorial staff) or by promotions due to increased responsibilities.

Hmmm.. anybody know what the top level of pay is today for a US Postal Service janitor?

It's not that a hole-in-one is that unusual from a pro golfer, but Wilcox plays a yellow golf ball. That may be the last hole-in-one made by a pro with a yellow ball.

As a foundation principle, I am shocked at it being disclosed that the Clinton's Global Initiative foundations have been making donations to "For Profit" entities. By law our foundation can only make donations to 501-(c)-3 entities. IRS would be all over us if we did the same..
