From the "new Christmas theme song adopted by a city" department - Online headline/story: "
At least 27 people were shot in a 48-hour period over Christmas weekend, the New York Times reported on Sunday, citing information from the Chicago police department, seven of them fatally. * At least 27 people were shot in Chicago over Christmas weekend" -- It's a toss up between new titles such, "Jingle Bullets",  "Sley Bells ring, is Obama Listening", "Clashing through "the snow" in a 300 horse powered open Sley", and "The LAST Noel".

---
Online headline: "Gunfire at North Carolina Christmas party wounds seven people" -- And some tunes never change.. "And the BEAT goes on"..

---
Online story: "A fake news story prompted Pakistan to threaten another nation with nuclear weapons on Friday, reports the New York Times. *  As it turns out the tweet followed a fake piece by awdnews.com. * The story had numerous errors including the wrong name for the current Israeli defense minister" -- Well.. ironically, this has a good side to it.. the NYT actually CHECKED OUT the facts before running with the story.. even better is "On Saturday, Israel clarified via a tweet that the story was "entirely false."

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Did the RNC just compare Trump to Jesus in its official Christmas statement?" -- Good grief..The Republican Party statement was to celebrate Jesus's birth.. Of course HUffPOOPOO is probably more upset that the Republicans' never have adopted mainscream media's afirmations that Obama is the Messiah.

---
From the "why" department: "Easy Holiday Cookies That Are Actually Healthy" -- Good grief.. I'll cut back on questionable ingredients in my food up-to-a_point, but not on desserts.. especially cookies...

There's a survey of the "top" 56 US cities with the highest poverty rates.. Guess which ones made the "top: 5.. Chicago, NY, LA, NYC, Miami? If you guessed any of these, you'd be wrong.. in fact NONE od =f these made the "top" 56. Most are smaller towns.. and a lot are college towns (this alone explains why non-employed numbers and low home ownership are high) but what is very noticeable are a group of three cities.. Columbus-Macon-Albany.. all three are in GA District 2 and represented by Congressman Sanford Bishop There numbers (in order) are 36-19-16..Bishop has been elected and re-elected since 1993.. Needless to say, his District overwhelmingly supported Hellary as well. Like all Democrats, Bishop is severely out of step with GA's needs.

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Obama spent Christmas Eve doing a live-action "escape room" game with his daughters *  "They broke out with 12 seconds left."" -- You'd think Obama would be better at this since he's particpated in so many "escapes"involving GITMO terrorists, but it looks more like how he'll escape the White House, too, "by the skin on his teeth".

From the "from the irony of it all" department -- Online story: "Police say a New York City man out on bail on an attempted murder charge opened fire at a nightclub in suburban Westchester County early Sunday, killing two people — including the club's co-owner — and injuring four other people *  "It's a dark day in our city," (Mount Vernon) Mayor Richard Thomas told the paper. "Today is a day we're supposed to spend with our family, not extend condolences. No person and no family should ever spend Christmas like this." * Investigators say the suspect may have been ejected from the club shortly before the shooting, which took place at around 4:30 a.m. Christmas Day. The Journal News reported that bars and nightclubs in Westchester County are required to close no later than 4 a.m. * there were around 200 people in the club at the time of the shooting. " -- Good grief.. "required to close no later than at 4:00 a.m."?  Well Mayor... obviously the town of Mount Vernon elected you and you did nothing to curtail drinking until 4:00 a.m. (and later). Sorta puts this on you back.. you know, why are clubs allowed to serve alcohol AFTER midnight anyway.. we all heard from our parents and grandparents that "nothing good ever happens AFTER midnight.. Maybe the 4:00 a.m. closing is there to allow patrons to get home, pass out, and wake up later to call in that they are too sick to come into work.. Oh.. Happy Holidays, Mt Vernon... obviously your celebrations were not for the birth of Jesus.

L-E headline: "Sheriff-elect Tompkins ready to assemble staff, drop lawsuit against city" -- You know, Sheriff Darr should have been cited for being such a financial wizard.. One local judge said it costs $50,000.00 per annun per prisoner to incarcerate them.. With Darr being responsible for nearly a 1,000 per day, that would mean that the judge would would be OK with a $50-MILLION dollar budget. Dar has kept it in the $4-MILLION range while the "all-knowing, all prophecizing Mayor Tom-LYING-son, Darr should be able to handle it on less than $3-Million. Of, and what's a million dollars to Mayor Tom-LYING-son.. just 4 more Queen TT Lounges on the RiverWalk. Now we must pray that Tompkins CAN DELIVER lawsuit avoiding service on Mayor Tom-LYING-son's budget..let's just make sure Tom-LYING-son doesn't just hand over the budget that Dar wanted and should have had no problem getting

ABC-online headline/story: ":More States Consider Working Around the Electoral College *  "Every vote in this country should have equal weight. The Electoral College is a relic of a bygone era, and we need to change this system," said Connecticut state Sen. Mae Flexer, who filed a bill with several fellow Democrats requiring Connecticut to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compac  * U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, a California Democrat, said she will introduce legislation in January to do away with the Electoral College through a constitutional amendment, but it's a longshot. An amendment would have to pass Congress and then be ratified by three-fourths of the states within seven years" -- So uber-libs from uber-lib states aren't happy that they are out-of-step with America's needs.. Hmm.. well, in my opinion, let's base the vote count of the numbers of individual counties to be the determining factor.. That alone would pretty much remove liberals from winning the Oval Office..

---
I heard a Fox contributor sum up the precise difference between liberalism and reality.. liberals want to be praised for good intentions regardless of the actual results.

---
Jill Stein...now wants the DOJ to examine our voting system for integrity, we taxpayers would be better off if Stein..Warren for that matter, too, were examined for sanity.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "We Democrats are not jumping on the Trump train. We will stand on the side of the tracks and watch it fall apart." -- Good grief.. as Forrest Gump would say, "Stupid is as stupid does".. If Dems KNOW the Trump Train will "fall apart", why would they want to be standing next to the tracks? I do hope they watch, and see how success looks.

---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Poor GOP, always believing they can simply use war and killing to solve all problems. They never think about people fighting back. Ready for refugee status?" -- Poor GOP"?  How about STUPID Democrats! Who intentionally let's the enemy inside their gates to wage war on them.. oh.. like the Trojan Horse 2.

---
L-E op-ed commentary headline: "Bipartisan probe needed * BALTIMORE SUN" -- "Baltimore Sun"? That stopped me immediately from reading any further.. if there is a "probe" needed (and there is a need), the Baltimore Sun needs a Prostrate Exam with Shaq O'Neal during the honors.. and start with why no 'partisan probe" was done to the Democrat Mayor when she pulled the police from arresting looters/shooters in the Baltimore riots.

L-E story: "Peachtree Mall on Manchester Expressway had been without a fourth anchor for years following the closure of the Parisian department store in a buyout between the chain and Charlotte, N.C.-based Belk. That finally was solved by the purchase of the front-and-center space at the mall by General Growth Properties, the mall’s owner, late in 2015, which set up negotiations between that company and Texas-based At Home." -- Hmm.. and as Paul Harvey might add.. where's "the rest of the story"? As I recall, At Home announced a pull back based on learning about the shooting/killing at Peachtree Mall. and as I hear, the city jumped in and made some boig tax incentives for At Home to continue
