Online headline/story: "Bernie Sanders goes on scathing rant over Trump's Cabinet"  -- Hmmm.. a guess this is about the equivalent of America's future getting "The Good House Keeping's Seal of Approval".

---
In all the hubbub of Trump's victory, I just realized that Arizona's "Sheriff Joe.. is no mo".

---
Isn't it ironic that the Democrats, which idolize the communist/socialist ideal, who fawn over the death of Castro , are now upset at Russia?

---
Online headline: "Elizabeth Warren promises to introduce legislation that will force Trump to divest from his business empire" -- Good grief.. what's Pocahontas been smokin' in her peace pipe?

---
Follow up on a local issue I mentioned Wednesday..that Sheriff's SUV that I saw in the same spot at *:00 AM and again at 3:00 PM.. may.. I say ..MAY have been from the Harris County Sheriff's Department.. I plan to research a bit on the paint scheme.. of course, this raises the question as to why a Harris County Sheriff's deputy would be parked just into Muscogee County is another question in itself.

L-E headline/story: "GEORGIA SUPREME COURT * Court calls Michael Eddings victim of ‘elaborate con’ * “This is overwhelming,” said Eddings, who has maintained throughout the ordeal he had no knowledge of his wife’s deception. *  (must) Make full restitution within five years of this order to the victims who have not been compensated by First American Title Insurance Company." -- You know, if his marriage was so broken that Edding's didn't know what was going on, then he should have replaced her as his office manager long before the problem arose.... but.. it's not just the victim's NOT compensated by the insurance company that should be reimbursed, but First American Title Insurance Company should be reimbursed, too, because the payouts affect every home buyer in what they pay for such insurance.

From the "look what I stumbled across" department: While looking up information on downtown properties, I pulled up the Downtown YMCA tax database page.. I did not realize a gym/recreation membership operation could be tax exempt.. I'm curious.. how does a facility used as a gymnasium be considered for tax exempt status.. does this not give such a huge economic advantage over competitive private sector operations?  To boot, my bride has a "family membership" there, and it's not even competive to what she can do so elsewhere..

From the "not sure where this writer is coming from" Lp-E "soundoff": " Thank you, Judges McBride, Kennon and Jordan, and Dr. Cox and Dayna Solomon, for your roles in the Accountability Courts, and to L-E for this light-spreading article in the midst of such daily dark news." -- You know.. what I remember most from the story that produced this "soundoff", I remember the statement that these were alternate processes to incarcerations that cost us $50,000,000.00 annually per person jailed. I parsed that figure, and it would have meant Sheriff Darr would have been spending $50 MILLION a year, but did so on less that 10% of that..How about an audit of the stated $50,000.00 per prisoner per annum figure so we can see if the alternative processes ARE cost effective.

L-E story: "The boyfriend a jury convicted Nov. 17 of killing Tina Green Hall and her 6-year-old son in a staged murder-suicide will spend the rest of his life in prison. * Muscogee County Superior Court Judge Ron Mullins ordered 59-year-old Vince Martinez Harris to serve two consecutive sentences of life without parole " -- "without parole"? We wish! You know, in violent.. aberrant behavior.. like this.. there should be an optional sentence handed down to insure such evil does not have any chance of getting back on the street.. let the convicted choose between the death sentence.. to be carried out within  2 years, or... life without parole..  nor any appeal to the sentence.. That would remove the public costs of ongoing lawyers and trials.

L-E headline/story: "GOVERNMENT * Jobs, crime discussed at mayor’s ‘Let’s Talk’ forum *   Jason Breaux, a resident, asked the mayor what the city was doing to bring more jobs to Columbus, which tends to have one of the highest unemployment rates in the state. The mayor said a lot of the unemployment is the result of drawdowns at Fort Benning  *  “Those drawdowns have an effect on the businesses that service those individuals, reduction in employment and so forth, and has a ripple effect throughout the community,” she said. *  Tomlinson said the new Spencer High School, a $56 million project, will have a tremendous impact on the area, hopefully attracting private investment to the area." -- Good grief.. it's "thinking" like the Mayor's that has America supporting Trump (even though the Democrats in Columbus are still enamored with entitlement programs). TomLYINGson blamed the "freeze" as much as she could, but voters saw through her plot, and now she's at least blaming the effect of Ft Benning downsizing as being a culprit.. but her plans to fix things are pretty much.. well, there's just one word that actually fits... STUPID!" How is a new Spencer going to "attract" private investment to the area.. Spencer has a history of failure that will actually work AGAINST bringing new businesses into the immediate are.. because.. graduates that are not capable of better than minimum wage jobs are not going to have the income not education levels that business demographics seek. Additionally, she saddling all Columbus taxpayers with the TADs which will remove local tax revenues for 15 to 20 years to begin with, but.. when areas are "improved" living costs go up, and people  can't afford them, so those "improved" areas deteriorate .. AGAIN, and become albatrosses on the taxpayers' necks... again. In addition.. all her 'necessities" she's so proud of,,whitewater,  the second ice rink, bike trail,  semi-pro teams,  (she had nothing to do with) are drains on the Fund Balance.. and did you
notice she said nothing about her "dog run" or the Aquatic Center or the Recycling Center.  She also didn't mention the negative effects a bad crime rate and poor school ratings have on attracting new businesses, nor the loss of tax revenues created with CSU buildings and historic building transformation and TAD.projects
Hurry 2018!

L-E headline: "Council considers allowing retirees to work 8 more years" -- In this day, why force the same retirement on all employees....but to keep things even for all, how about a plan that freezes the salary of an employee who options to stay at his/her last salary for the duration of the continuation.. and not count the extra years into the payout. This would solve any inequalities between those who retire at the "mandatory" time and those who would rather work longer if they are capable.

L-E headline: "Georgia’s unemployment rate nudges higher to 5.3%" -- Guess all the Trump protesters for the Democrats have been fired, and paid Democratic Party  voters no longer are needed.. What's scary though is that this is the holiday period when extra people are hired for part time jobs.
