From the "it's about time" department - Online headline/story: "Trump's Justice Department sues California over immigration enforcement * The lawsuit, which also names Gov. Jerry Brown and California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, challenges three recently passed state laws that the Trump administration says hinder enforcement of federal immigration law and endanger federal agents. * "The Department of Justice and the Trump administration are going to fight these unjust, unfair, and unconstitutional policies that have been imposed on you," U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in remarks prepared for delivery to a law enforcement convention. * The lawsuit, filed in federal court in the state capital of Sacramento, challenges three specific laws:
— SB 54, which restricts law enforcement officials from notifying federal immigration agents about the release dates for prisoners in their custody who have been convicted and therefore face deportation. It also prohibits local officials from transferring those prisoners to federal custody
— AB 450, which forbids private employers from cooperating with immigration agents who conduct worksite enforcement operations. The law also requires employers to tell their workers when federal agents are coming to conduct inspections.
— And AB 103, which requires the state to inspect detention facilities where federal authorities are holding immigrants who face deportation."" --
Good grief! It's about time Jeff Sessions took back his office.

From the "and what did libs expect?" department - Online story: "Sales of assault-style rifles are surging in the aftermath of the school shooting that killed 17 students and staff members at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on February 14. * Criminal background checks for gun sales — a key metric for estimating the demand for guns — rose 3.5% in Florida in the month of February, compared to the previous year, Bloomberg reports. * Background checks for long guns, which includes assault-style rifles like the one used in the Parkland school shooting, surged 12.6% in the state. Nationwide, that metric rose 3%." -- Sales AND background checks rose... Hmmm.. guess the sales tic was by those concerned over future politics.. and I'm gonna take a wild guess that the background check increase applicants were bolstered by a lot who wouldn't pass if new laws allowing their psychological profiles be reported to the fed database.

From the "I know the answer to this one" department - Online headline: "Ryan Seacrest’s Oscars red carpet ratings drop 43% from 2017" -- Whoa.. it's not what you're probably thinking... personally, I believe this is payback for Seacrest from re-booking Mariah Carey back to this past New Year's Eve show after Carey's debacle on the previous one.
---
From the "there's a new "chicken joke" in the making" department - Online headline: "Why are San Francisco Chickens Wearing Diapers?" -- Hmmm... because it's against the law in San Francisco to let people know your true gender?
---
Online headline/story: "Why are San Francisco Chickens Wearing Diapers? * The rich and famous of San Francisco are falling head over heels for a new status symbol — pet chickens. * Some Bay Area chicken-lovers are spending as much as $400 for a chicken — and nearly $20,000 for high-tech homes to house their pet birds. * The Washington Post reports one poultry paradise is constructed from sustainable red pine and comes equipped with solar panels. It’s called the “Range Rover of chicken cribs.” -- This is so San Francisco.. miles of streets are lined with homeless people's shanties and feces, and San Franciscans diaper and pamper their chickens...

Guess Pelosi found a voter registration law that allows chickens to vote..

What's the latest on the the Republican Special Train wrecked by the garbage truck back in January? Certain aspects tend to indicate it was not an accident yet mainscream media is not the least bit interested in following up. Let's not let this drop.

Talk about state-of-the art college stadiums, Mississippi State just opened it's 2018 home season at newly reconstructed Dudy-Noble field..$55,000,000.00 worth. We'll have to see if State fans are as thrilled because it looks like cowbells will not be allowed inside. Whatta disappointment for this State fan...HELL, State, whatta ya' thinking!
---
Linda Sarsour.. venomous Muslim spokesperson, et al were arrested for "civil disobedience" outside Speaker Paul Ryan's office yesterday.. a couple of questions arise.. why does a person with an opportunity to discuss an issue do something to circumvent the opportunity, and secondly, how did they get past the Capitol Police Department in the first place?
---
Online headline/story: "NEWS Ben Carson To Shut Down Obama’s Biggest Illegal Pet Project… * Under Obama-era policies, the HUD doles out taxpayer dollars for Section 8 housing, going against administrators and the U.S. Supreme Court. * But not for long.
* Under new leadership, the HUD is now going to return to a “competitive bidding process” to award Section 8 housing contracts — so taxpayer dollars aren’t used." -- "so tax dollars aren't used"? Fancy that.. This is what happens when business people run the government..

Word is out that 25% of McDonald's restaurants are now using "fresh beef" for their Quarterpounder sandwiches. For 1-in-4 chance of finding out whether or not you'll get a fresh beef patty or not, I think I'll continue to stop at Wendy's where I KNOW the patties are fresh.

Spent this past weekend out-of-town..Twas a marvelous family weekend...didn't keep up with the local news, so can anybody brighten my day by telling me Carlton Gary passed away from old age or something?
---
Hmmm... Mayor Tom-LYING-son was busy this past weekend.. too bad it was pushing her own agenda rather than tending to City business... Why was she concerned an=bout the GA Legislature ending the Delta tax gift? In Columbus, she only wants to RAISE our taxes...
Tom-LYING-son also went after gun laws.. he said a man with a AR-15 strapped to his back walked freely through our Public Safety Building and her police officers were prohibited from demanding he show a permit. Really.. it would be one thing for a man to walk in with his rifle leveled for shooting, but even then, a room full of armed officers should have no problem responding to that situation either.. question: did I miss something... is it now a law to have, much less carry, a permit for a long gun?
Then she went after two politicians who had their guns stolen out of their cars while they were working.. Hmm.. if their workplace didn't have "Gun Free Zone" signs everywhere, they could have carried them inside and the guns would not have been stolen.
---
Oh,, and Mayor Tom-LYING-son wasn't finished.. she also wrote a column for that "Daily Beast" site. While she rambled on about different things, particularly about crime decreases and efficient use of our Public Safety SPLOST revenues (yeah .. right), this one "quote" sums her up:
In 2014, Georgia passed the “guns everywhere” law, which allows firearms to be carried into public schools, bars, churches, and government buildings, including libraries, recreational centers, city office buildings, and fire stations. This law passed over the objection of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, whose president stated: “Police officers do not want more people carrying guns on the street, particularly police officers in inner city areas.”
Good grief.. she closed one door at the Citizens Service Center because she said "we" can't afford two weapon screening stations, but if you are not a law enforcement officer.. do try and carry a gun into our government buildings.. Now I do sympathized with our police officers in, as she stated it, the "inner city areas", because chances are pretty good that the average teen on the street doesn't qualify for a "Carry Permit" or a clean background check to carry a LEGAL weapon.

You know, in partisan political races, candidates should have to identify their political affiliation in their ads and on their signs. We need to know whether a candidate will beholden to Pelosi or Schumer when voting, or not standing up for America during a Trump State of the Union speech shout-out to our military.
---
It's disheartening to hear Congresspersons.. especially RINOs, talking about trade wars and tariffs being battles that cannot be won...that's why we have such horrible trade deficits... it's been so long since the US has tasted victory that our Congresspersons just have no clue about how sweet victory tastes!
---
There's a new indicator to help determine if someone has experienced a "stroke" .. have the person stick out their TONGUE.. if it goes to either side rather than straight out, it's a good sign of a stroke.. Of course, there is an exception.. it doesn't work on career DIMocrat politicians/staff.. they are so use to speaking from both sides of their mouths that their tongues just alternate sides depending on who's in front of them.
---
Looking at some of the campaign disclosures in the Columbus Mayor's race..how can LLC's and other businesses donate without disclosing the Principle(s) of the business's name being included? If it's legal.. it shouldn't be. Oh,, and how about donations from Phenix City businesses... especially undisclosed principle ones?

From the "how many ways can the public figure out how to abuse this ordinance" department - L-E headline/story: "DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS * Proposed law would broaden open-container ordinance * The proposed ordinance is being recommended by Uptown Columbus Inc., a non-profit downtown redevelopment organization, to create what it terms an entertainment and restaurant district. The proposed ordinance would impact downtown businesses such as bars and restaurants that have an on-premise alcohol license and customers who want to carry an unfinished drink out of the establishment. * “This gives you the opportunity to have a glass of wine and go down the street and enjoy the rest of uptown,” said Ross Horner, president and CEO of Uptown Columbus Inc. *
• No alcoholic beverages purchased outside of the entertainment district shall be allowed in open containers in the entertainment district.
• Alcohol purchased from package stores or growler stores that have an off-premise license are not allowed in open containers in the entertainment district.
• Residents of downtown loft apartments and condominiums and the Columbus Historic District would not be permitted to bring alcohol from their homes in open containers in the entertainment district." --
Whoa! Good grief.. it would take assigning a monitor to every car, every dorm/apt room in the Downtown area to make sure drinkers simply buy a single beer at a bar, then refill it from their vehicles or abodes... and I guess the development/nurturing of "a family atmosphere" would be out-the-door...

From the "goose/gander" department - L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS * Shot in head with own gun, home invasion victim tries to remember * A 24-year-old Columbus home invasion victim struggled Tuesday to remember the night two visitors set him up for a robbery that left him brain-damaged from being shot in the head with his own gun. * He was testifying in the trial of Dewayne Vidal Searcy Jr., 24, charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, first-degree burglary, using a gun to commit a felony and being a convicted felon with a firearm. * Prosecutors allege Searcy was one of two men whom the women visiting the victim allowed into Apt. 1-F at Cooper Cove Apartments on Milgen Road around 3:30 a.m. on May 11, 2016. * That’s when the men were supposed to sneak in through the unlocked door while the women distracted the resident, and take guns and drugs from a safe in a bedroom closet." -- Good grief! The victim is also a criminal and was involved in a criminal act.. I'm sorry, but the victim needs to be charged and prosecuted as well, and all of them put away or executed -- based on which crimes they committed..
