From the " when Trump wins, America and the world win" department - Online story: "President Donald Trump on Thursday expressed a willingness to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un by May in response to Kim's invitation to hold the first meeting between leaders of the United States and North Korea, a South Korean envoy said. * Kim has committed to "denuclearization" and to suspending nuclear or missile tests" -- Hmmm... this is what happens when you apply the principles of "the Art of the Deal" rather than the art of the "squeal".

From the "education has lost" department: Online headline/story: "Kenny Smith blasts 'predatorial' NCAA: 'Men preying on 17-year-olds' * There has been no dearth of outcry against the NCAA recently with athletes and media alike criticizing the billion-dollar organization for its practice of profiting off of unpaid athletes. * He spoke at the NCAA Tournament media day and blasted the “predatorial” practice of the NCAA’s pursuit of young athletes. * “The rules are creating the predatorial environment,” Smith told reporters. “If that was anything other than sport, if it was, people would have been locked up. But because it’s sport, it took them, it’s taking longer. If it was anything other than sport, where 50-year-old men were preying on 17-year-olds — come on.” -- "come on"? Really, Kenny Smith... the NCAA sets rules to protect teens BECAUSE of coaches, agents and boosters who REALLY DO prey on the potential abilities of teens.. Without the NCAA, most players who do get scholarships to get an education... wouldn't get the opportunity.
Hey, Kenny Smith.. you are your own worst example.. you can't play pro-basketball anymore, and without the NCAA, you wouldn't even have the job you have right now!

There's a new "list" out... Worst Companies to Work For"...it's bogus... no list of "Worst Companies" could be legit if Congresspersons"working" for Pelosi and Schumer was not included.
https://247wallst.com/special-report/2017/06/05/the-worst-companies-to-work-for-3/5/

Anybody know how many people are employed by the MCSD in their "Security Department"? I remember a number from several years ago hat I thought was outrageous in that it seemed a better choice would have been to work closer with the Columbus Police Department, and have a budget for video alarm systems.
---
From the "wonder if this will go into his gun background check data" department - Online headline: "Accused cop killer asks judge if he could request death penalty" -- Hope the judge said.."you drive a hard bargain, but we will grant your wish... today... next case!"... before... BEFORE libs/mainscream media complain he's obviously mentally ill...
---
Here's another list..Columbus didn't "make it" ...but it is a list that stops at the 39 cities rated with the worst poverty rates in the country.. While Columbus didn't make, two of Congressman Bishops District 2 "towns" did,, Macon and Albany.. in fact both were in the bottom 20.. Macon, number 20, and Albany down at number 7. Hey, Macon.. hey Albany.. you have another opportunity to "change your stars"...but you have to stop drinking the DIMocrat Kool-Aid between now and November!
Hey, Columbus.. help Macon and Albany BEFORE we join them.
---
There is a study out showing more elderly parents are now living with their kids... obviously a millennial poll, and aimed at not mentioning it's probably because they moved back into there parents homes
---
Remember " E = mc2"? Well, there was another "formula" more valuable than Einstein's that DIMocrats have worked hard NOT to talk about being taught in schools.." “The greatest discovery of any generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering the attitudes of their minds.”― Albert Schweitzer" -- Well.. it does work both ways, too.. hopefully Trump's successes as a leader will impact students who graduated from the "Common CRAP" curriculum not knowing that they are capable to succeed without a government nanny involved in their everyday life.

L-E headline/story: "Columbus physicians writing too many opioid prescriptions — so city is suing drug companies * Last week, Columbus Council voted to hire a group of attorneys to go after manufacturers and distributors of opioid prescription drugs flooding the local market — much like municipalities went after Tobacco companies in previous years. * The lead lawyers on the case are DuBose Porter of Dublin, Ga., and Mike Fuller out of Hattiesburg, Miss. * handled a recent case where a man had 27 different medications. Four of them were opioids — one of them a huge bottle of liquid Oxycodone * The other was a huge bottle of 90 Oxycodone tablets." -- Oh no! Sounds like another Mayor Tom-LYING-son attempt (like with the Expedia suit years ago) to make Columbus the pariah of another industry.. When a person has excess opioids, the villain is probably the prescriber, and that's who needs to be shut down...Even more disturbing, is our leaders coat-tailing a lawsuit with out-of-town/state lawyers, and the results will be that the lawyers get richer, and patients who need minimum doses of opioid painkillers will have a harder time, and pay a lot more, getting them.
"Accidental Overdoses"... how many resorted in a death? Shouldn't deaths be considered a "homicide"? How many did we have that weren't counted in the already horrific number he had last year and are beginning 2018 with?

Mueller really IS on a witch hunt..This Seychelles thing takes the cake.. When this is supposed to have happened was AFTER the election, and if the Russians had worked with Trump to get him elected, why would either Trump or the Russians NEED to establish a back door access?
---
Online "headLIE" : New York Times issues correction after botching story attacking Trump’s tax plan" -- WRONG! Should have read, "Embarrassing New York Times issues correction after botching story attacking Trump’s tax plan". Oh, remember when the NYT's motto was "All the news that's fit to print".. unfortunately, the NYT still uses and believes that.
---
From the "things must be tough all over... in LaLaLand" department - Online headline: "Disney boss tells shareholders that ‘The View’ star Joy Behar apologized for anti-Christian remarks" -- Good grief.. Disney usually flaunts it's anti-Christ love affair.. I can only guess that summer vacation reservations are down...
---
Though it won't get much play in Columbus, Columbus's own Josh McKoon qualified this week for the GA Secretary of State nomination. Regardless of your party affiliations, Columbus really will benefit if we get one of our own elected to a state-wide office of this importance. Vote and support Josh McKoon.

Online headline/story: "Georgia House panel advances budget with funds for school security * Georgia legislative leaders are proposing funding $16 million in grants to local districts to beef up security following last month’s massacre at a Florida school." -=- Hmmm.. Let's parse a bit.. GA has 1.75 million students in its public schools... The GA Legislature is "throwing" about $9.14 per student into it's "beefed up" security plan.. guess it would pay for some sort of slingshot for each student to carry...
---
You know. Maybe we should be encouraging Mayor Tom-LYING-son to run....how about running for the border! Did you see the new numbers on the California bullet rail project.. Now up to over $10 BILLION...and that won't be enough to get up and running ..and it's not much longer than the Mayor's folly to Atlanta...and not the first rail has been laid.
---
Did you hear the Trump meeting broadcast yesterday? How about the information and figures Trump gave us on the economy, the UN, jobs...I tell you what, if you missed it, you won't hear about them in your mainscream media ramblings.

Online headline/story: "Army sets sights on new sniper rifle * Russian-made advanced armor increasingly protects U.S. adversaries. In war zones, U.S. boots on the ground have had to contend with terrorist group ISIS protected by armor — and by ever stronger armor. * U.S. soldiers need a sniper rifle that they can always rely on to penetrate these types of strong armor and stop the threat. * Once the Army announced that it was on the hunt for an upgrade, there was an intense competition to become the new sniper rifle. * the Army selected Heckler & Koch’s 7.62mm rifle based on their G28, with specific modifications tailored to meet the military’s requirements." -- Wow.. and we have a Heckler & Koch manufacturing plant right here in Columbus, GA home of Ft Benning and the Sniper School! Cool!

From the "pot calling the kettle" department - L-E headline/story: "Question about candidate’s $165,000 contract with MCSD stirs board race * The Muscogee County School Board candidate who had to resign his part-time job with the school district to get on the ballot wants the same reasoning applied to his opponent. * Mike Edmondson, a retired educator and the 1990 Teacher of the Year in the Muscogee County School District, wonders why John “Bart” Steed was allowed to qualify while his company, Kar-Tunes Car Stereo, has a contract worth an estimated $165,000 to service the heating, ventilation and air conditioning on MCSD buses. * The law seems to allow this disparity." -- Hmm.. you know, it use to be.. back in the days of Grand Jury APPOINTED School Boards, that board members could not do business with the school system.. I see complexity in both candidates.. did Mike Edmondson get hired by the MCSD to quiet his efforts to get the old Bibb School renovated from the disastrous condition the MCSD had allowed it to become, and why does the MCSD give "open ended" maintenance contracts.. If contracts for services that were not specifically bid on continue, wouldn't it make sure the contractor billed for ALL of the money in the contract regardless of the amount of services provided? You know, there's still today for John Thomas to reconsider his reluctance to run for re-election..
---
L-E headline: "‘Change of heart’: Myers to seek re-election" -- Now if only John Thomas will reconsider...too!
---
Ah! I see we have another qualifier for a MCSB position...now all 5 positions up for election will give people a choice.. Welcome Anthony McCool.. candidate for the At-Large post.

L-E headline/story: "Academy Sports accepting job applications for new store * Construction on the Academy Sports and Outdoors store in Columbus is picking up steam, with the retail project having reached a couple of major milestones, including the launch of the hiring process. Crews on Thursday were busy working on the outer shell of the 64,266-square-foot structure at 6700 Whittlesey Blvd., which is in the Columbus Park Crossing development, adjacent to North Highland Church. Construction is costing $7,525,548, according to city building permits." -- Hmmm... $7,525,548.00 for 64,266 sq ft of building... that's t=right at $117.00 a square foot.. hmmm... why does it cost the MCSD $750,000.00 for a 2,400 sq ft metal-on-slab wrestling room... that's about $312.00 a square foot.
---
L-E headline/story: "DOT board member weighs in on new intersection design * The new road design at Jenkins and Macon Road was a quick response by the Georgia Department of Transportation to save lives in the intersection entering Ridgewood Estates, a DOT board member said Wednesday. * transportation officials don’t have to go through the lengthy process when a project is less than $200,000. * While many residents weren’t notified of changes before Feb. 22, Wellborn said, “they had some community interaction but in all honesty, they probably didn’t have enough.” * In one of the first designs in Muscogee County, the R-cut in Upatoi reduces crashes at the intersection and makes the roads safer. There may be more like it in the county if it proves to be a lifesaver." -- "if it proves to be a lifesaver"? And what happens if it doesn't PROVE to be a LIFESAVER? I can already see how residents with farm/horse trailers are going to be a disaster waiting to happen if they need to go "left" (or simply want to cross the intersection) when they leave their neighborhoods and have to maneuver those trailers through a u-turn into 65-70 MPH traffic.
---
L-E headline: "Gosha gets 30 years for tax fraud, must repay $9 million" -- And let's add.. "and before he's released from jail" to his sentence to repay.
---
Not going to post the picture, but the L-E has a story on the protest by women in Pakistan holding up a sign "Stop the Killing".... in ENGLISH! You have to wonder if the woman holding it knew what it read.

---
Is it just me, but have you noticed that there haven't been any "Together 2017" ads in the L-e in a few days.. at least I haven't noticed them (though I was out-of-town for several days). What I have noticed are TV ads by Columbus 2025.. and admit they are a lot better at promoting the future for Columbus than any of the wrong year dated L-E ads.
