From the "MSM-10, we'll damn him either way" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Trump's offer to meet with Iran discounted by Tehran and president's own advisers" -- You know, President Trump could appoint Bernie as Secretary of Education; Hellary as Director of the FBI; and Pelosi as Director of ICE, and MSM-10 would curse him. (Hmmm... funny thing is that in this scenario, MSM-10 would be right for the first time)

---
From the "Ron White.. but sometimes you just can't fix..." department - Online headline/story: "LeBron James says President Donald Trump is using sports 'to divide us' * “We are in a position in America where this race thing has taken over,” James said. “One, because I believe our president is trying to divide us. He’s kind of used sport to divide us, and that’s something I can’t relate to.”" -- First.. the sports thing was an outgrowth of the racial divide escalated by Obama, and MSM-10. Secondly. another Ron White quote sums up LeBron James: "I had the right to remain silent... but I didn't have the ability."
You know, LeBron James will be remembered as the "Hank Aaron of Basketball".. has a lot more INDIVIDUAL awards that team championships.. James has been around 15 seasons and has only 3 NBA Championships.. and those were when owners stacked his team with other super-players. Bill Russel(*), my all-time basketball idol, played 13 seasons with one team.. the Celtics, and his teams won 11 NBA Championships...

Oh.. and Hank Aaron played 21 seasons with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves, and played in the World Series only twice ('57 & '58), and helped no team to get to a World Series in his last 16 seasons with the Braves, or final 2 at the Brewers.

(*) Bill Russell's Celtics TEAM won 11 NBA Championships.. including Russell's 1st and last season.. and once won 8 in a row..

From the "poll truth and nothing but the poll truth" department - Online story: "U.S. Democrats' support for abortion rights grew in the last two years, but for most, it will be a low priority in the November mid-term election compared with issues such as healthcare and the economy, a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll shows. * The poll found that 68 percent of Democrats said in July that abortion should be legal, up from 60 percent in a similar poll conducted in June 2016." -- Hmmm.. but I notice that none of the 68% were asked whether they thanked their mothers for not aborting them.

---
From the "Hypocrisy, thy name is CBS" department - Online story: "In a surprise move, CBS’ board of directors is keeping Leslie Moonves in place as chairman-CEO even as it launches a probe of sexual assault allegations leveled against him by six women in a New Yorker expose." -- Hmmm.. obviously no "goose/gander" equality at CBS.. You know, CBS is a leader at "trial by media" foe Trump, yet turned a blind-eye on itself.. like I said yesterday, a CBS' Charlie "Rose" by any other name is still a Moonves..

---
My bride and I went to see Mission Impossible: Fallout yesterday...full of action but unlike previous MI's this had a more "Improbable" than Impossible ending.. a 15-Minute timer must have been controlled by a hometeam betting NFL timer controlling the 2-minute clock and making sure the hero got the last shot off before the buzzer. It is a thumbs up though.

---
I have it on good authority hat Harris County is not participating in "The Valley Partnership".. Guess Harris County doesn't want to be dragged down trying to bail-out Columbus' economy under current "leadership"..

---
From the "it's said that politics creates strange bed partners... well now politics can lead to divorce" department - Online story: "A journalism professor and dean at the University of Georgia apologized Friday after he sparked backlash with a tweet congratulating Brian Kemp for winning the Republican nomination for governor. * Charles Davis, dean of the Athens school’s College of Journalism and Mass Communication, reportedly wrote in a now-deleted tweet that Mr. Kemp is a longtime friend and a “nice guy.” * “I went to high school with GOP guv candidate @BrianKempGA,” he wrote after Mr. Kemp’s primary win Tuesday, according to a screenshot obtained by Campus Reform. “We played YMCA ball from childhood. Politics be damned. He is a nice guy, always was. Kind to a fault. He’s a friend, always has been, and will be when we’re old(er) and grey(er). That’s how all this should work, people.” -- What's really sad is our students are being told to stand up for their beliefs by someone who bailed out on a lifetime friendship.

---
Online headline/story: "Ginsburg suggests she has at least five more years on the Supreme Court * "I'm now 85," Ginsburg said on Sunday. "My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years."" -- Hmmm.. looks like for the next 5 years, she will be simply taking up space on the Court..and then she will be replaced by Trump anyway..

---
Online headline/story: "Anti-Trump London Mayor Sadiq Khan under fire for 'pathetic' response to crime surge * Boris Johnson, the former mayor who recently resigned as U.K. foreign secretary, tore into Khan in a recent Op-Ed for The Daily Telegraph for glamming it up at movie premieres while crime spirals out of control.

“Sadiq Khan may be a twinkle-toed mover on the movie premiere red carpet, but his pirouettes on the subject of knife crime are a positive wonder. He blames funding (when he was left with a large war chest by me); he blames the Tory Government; he blames society. He blames everyone but himself, when it is his paramount duty to keep Londoners safe,” Johnson wrote. “It is a pathetic performance.” -- Good grief.. in a nutshell. London's Mayor is simply comfortable in a street atmosphere Muslims in Syria, Iran, Yemen and Libya experience.

Did I hear right.. that the new Roundabout is being paid for out of unused T-SPLOST tax revenues? Well that certainly changes everything.. Since we don't get but 85-cents of every dollar Columbus citizens pay in, then the $4.5+ MILLION is actually closer to $5.1 MILLION in "real dollars", and we know it will not come in on or below "budget".

It's also maddening that Columbus's internal road system has deteriorated to current conditions while our T-SPLOST tax dollars have sat silently waiting for the Roundabout to get on the books.

---
M/C L-E headline: "Man, 37, dies after shooting on Hunter Ridge Circle" -- Hmmm... 23, I think.. (24 in my book) and we have one more day in July! What a legacy for Mayor' Tom-LYING-son's last year..

---
Online headline/story: "Corruption probe at Atlanta City Hall shifts from bribes to spending * This spring, investigators peeked into Reed’s wallet with a request that the city turn over the former mayor’s city-issued credit card statements. Then, this month, they requested information about payouts made to Reed’s closest advisers for accrued leave." -- Bet Reed is sure glad he's not a Republican, or MSM-10 would have filleted him long ago..

---
From the "as feared" department - Online story: "Republicans still have a better-than-even chance of holding on to the Governor's Mansion in Georgia. * But Secretary of State Brian Kemp's runoff win last week over Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in the Republican gubernatorial primary race makes the November general election more difficult for the GOP. * That's the conclusion of the Washington, D-C.-based Cook Political Report, which has revised the contest for Georgia governor from "Likely Republican" to "Lean Republican." -- This was "the fear" I felt during the runoff period, but unlike MSM-10, I now realize that Trump's strength is getting America 1st voters out in strength...

---
Is it just me overlooking them, or does everyone see that the M/C L-E has about cutoff reader "input". Can't remember the last insertion of "Two Cents Worth" nor "Letters to the Editor".

---
From the "it's a shame... and a condemnation of liberals" department - M/C L-E story: "American culture has become “less hospitable to people of faith,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday in vowing that the Justice Department would protect people’s religious freedom and convictions." -- It's a shame and an unfortunate "sign of the times" that the US Attorney General has to focus on individual religious rights that are already Constitutionally protected. It's curse of the DIMocrat/Socialist political agenda.

---
From the "another sign of the times" department - M/C L-E headline: "Georgia Power could be your customer" -- You know.. at one time this headline would have read, "Georgia Power is our good neighbor"..What happened?

---
M/C L-E headline: "Big Mac’s 50th comes as McDonald’s is evolving" -- You know.. this 50TH "celebration" conflicts with my remembrance of 1964-65. When I was playing basketball at Columbus High, on game days, I had a routine of sitting in the parking are of the original McDonald's on Macon Road and consuming 2 "Big Macs" and a Large Coke. The Big Macs were 35-cents and the large Coke was 30-cents... so my pre-game meal cost me $1.00 pus 3-cents tax... In my book, this is the 54th Anniversary year of "the Big Mac".. and now I cannot remember the last one I ordered.. nor if I will ever order another one...

---
From the "how cryptic can this be" department - M/C L-E headline: "Not everyone happy about NFL changing kickoffs" -- I think the NFL should be more concerned about the number of people who have "kicked the NFL out" of of their living rooms, dens, and man-caves..

---
Ah.. Mayor Tom-LYING-son must be so proud.. the L-E "Foreclose Section" has leveled off at 11 pages.

From the "spoiled children's tantrum bias" department - Online headline/story: "Trump's war against the news media is rooted in some of his deepest fears * President Donald Trump has frequently asked White House aides to punish some reporters when he's unhappy with the way they approach him, The Washington Post reported on Friday. * Reporters who shout questions at Trump, or who press him with questions about the news of the day tend to get the president most riled up, The Post said." -- Good grief.. MainScream Media has "lost it completely".. "it" being the ability to separate their personal agenda bias from reality. MainScream Media as had 24 years of "Clinton, Bush43, and Obama "being their pushover daddy" that when a real man holds them responsible for being civil, they act like a street gang and team up to inflict personal damage.. hey, MainScream Media is using the same tactics as MS-13 gangs!.. Let's see.. we have NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the WaPo, the NYT, the LA Times, the Shicago Trib, and the HuffPOO that are leading mainscream media thugs, so from now on, MainScream Media will be referred to as the "MSM-10".

---
From the "some Repubs still don't get it" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Koch Network leaders blast Trump White House as ‘divisive’ * “The manner in which people engage public policy matters,” said Brian Hooks, the co-chair of the Seminar Network, the umbrella group that hosts the gatherings. “And it’s gone way beyond tone, way beyond tactic. The divisiveness of this White House is causing long-term damage.” * “When in order to win on an issue, somebody else has to lose, it makes it very difficult to unite people to solve the problems in this country,” Hooks said." -- Good grief.."somebody else has to lose"? Of course somebody HAS to lose.. it's the only way that direction is set and standards are raised. Participation Trophies and not keeping score at children's sports so that nobody wins shown us that "ties" means EVERYBODY loses. Thank goodness that Trump has "2020 Vision"!

From a perspective standpoint... name me a non-liberal who would have been satisfied if the Alabama-GA National Championship game had planned to ended in a tie so some people wouldn't be sad?

---
From the "what do you mean I have to live by the rules of hypocrisy I set for my employees" department - Can you believe the "oh, that was the old me, not who I am today" attitude by CBS's Les Moonves now that his philandering has been exposed? This is his "excuse/apology":

"In a statement, Moonves denied the accusations: “Throughout my time at CBS, we have promoted a culture of respect and opportunity for all employees, and have consistently found success elevating women to top executive positions across our company. I recognize that there were times decades ago when I may have made some women uncomfortable by making advances. Those were mistakes, and I regret them immensely. But I always understood and respected — and abided by the principle — that ‘no’ means ‘no,’ and I have never misused my position to harm or hinder anyone’s career. This is a time when we all are appropriately focused on how we help improve our society, and we at CBS are committed to being part of the solution.”

This is the same guy that has vilified President Trump for his past.. and has not accepted any of Trump's apologies.. Hmmm.. a "Charlie Rose" by any other name is still a Moonves.

---
Online headline: "Chicago's gun violence is intolerable -- Trump should provide help" -- Trump "should provide help"? Good grief.. in Trump's 1st year as President, street killings in Shicago went down 15% compared to Obama's last year.. but it's not Trump's responsibility...besides, Shicago probably wouldn't allow Trump to come into Shicago. Now.. why didn't MainScream media (a.k.a. - the MS-10 gang) ask why didn't Obama.. who lived there, do something in his 8 years... especially since the current Shicago mayor was Obama's Chief-of-Staff in the beginning?

Ironically, if Shicago DID ask Trump for help, Trump could probably help..mainly by just replacing the DIMocrats in Shicago government.

---
The 2016 Election showed three things about Justice Ginsburg...she's racist, gender biased, and politically stupid. Imagine an 85 year-old woman not wanting to retire when Obama was in office, but calculating to retire when Hellary would win and appoint someone she approved of, and feels now she'll live through Trump's 8 years... but even if she does, she'd have to live another 8 years of Pence.

---
I use to look at candidates of both parties and try to pick the best one to vote "FOR". Now that Congressional DIMocrats have devolved into a single "bloc vote" based on a treasonous NY man or a delusional CA woman, I had to stop..Even looking at, much less considering a DIMocrat, reveals a thinking process flaw in any argument.

---
From the "isn't this counter productive to their goal" department - Online headline: "Chick-fil-A's Canadian expansion sparks pro-LGBTQ protests" -- You know.. the LGBTQ community thrives because of a pretty wide=spread acceptance of diversity for people in general, so, why does the LGBTQ feel that being intolerant of anything helps them?

---
Online story: "A Republican lawmaker is demanding some answers from the FBI after he says the bureau admitted to working with the controversial Southern Poverty Law Center.
In a letter obtained by Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., says the FBI has “admitted to working with the SPLC,” in a development he describes as “surprising and worrisome.” * “This is surprising and worrisome, as the SPLC is known to use its platform in order to denigrate and disparage certain groups by labeling them ‘hate groups,’” he said. * He said that groups such as the Christian Family Research Council (FRC) have been labeled a hate group, while members of “Antifa” -- a broad collaboration of left-leaning, anti-fascist activists -- have not been given such a label." -- And let's not forget the violence shown by "Black Lives Matter".. also unlabeled by the SPLC. You know.. any group that thrives on being a "labeler" is, by it's own definition, a "hate group".

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Secret is out: Columbus gets big role in Kendrick Brothers faith-based movie * The on-location filming of “Overcomer,” a story of a high school cross country runner’s journey to find her identity and faith, concluded Friday." -- Look for my bride in the opening gym scene and in the stadium concession stand... she'll be the "the star" !

Fortunately for Columbus, we'll have a new mayor in Columbus when the movie is released so we shouldn't have to make too many more excuses.

---
M/C L-E headline: "Major remodel of Target store begins; will add Starbucks" --Talk about a dual death wish.. there's a Starbucks across the street already, and what value does Target feel it gets by adding one inside where Starbucks customers will pay $5.00 or more for Starbucks' fare which means the customers will have that much less to spend in Targets. Me, I'm smiling.. I rarely step inside of Target as it is... Targets AND Starbucks have thrown themselves into "the brier patch"...

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Churches face new tax unless overhaul is fixed * “(Democrats and Republicans) are describing the problem in very different ways,” said Galen Carey, vice president of government relations for the National Association of Evangelicals. “One side is saying ‘this is an oversight,’ the other is calling it Republicans’ war on religion … overheated rhetoric probably won’t help us get a solution.” " -- You know.. What this really boils down to is churches having to reveal all sources of income/expenses ... especially donations from liberal organizations/foundations that are donated to influence voters.... and DIMocrats do not want the light of truth shining on those.

---
From the "and the rush is on!" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Democratic socialism surging in the age of Trump * A week ago, Maine Democrat Zak Ringelstein wasn’t quite ready to consider himself a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, even if he appreciated the organization’s values and endorsement in his bid to become a U.S. senator. * Three days later, he told The Associated Press it was time to join up. He’s now the only major-party Senate candidate in the nation to be a dues-paying democratic socialist." -- Well the truth of the matter is that "DIMocrat Socialism" has solidified the nation FOR Trump, and what this Maine DIMocrat just saw was an unknown announced socialist in NY topping a major DIMocrat in the primary...

Now.. tell me this.. did Ringelstein use donations to pay for his membership in Democratic Socialists of America?

---
You know, DIMocrats better take a real close look.. not only at Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but at their future as well.. If Kavanaugh doesn't win approval, the next Trump appointee will be even more of a Constitutionalist than Kavanaugh, and in Alabama Senator Doug Jones' case, the one Alabama Congressional District he won in won't carry him through for re-election in 2020...

---
From Columbus Council Agenda: "Tiny Houses Update - John Hudgison, Building Inspections & Code Enforcement Director" -- Whoa! The City is not considering a "Tiny House Village" again, is it? Seriously.. haven't we experienced enough failure in past "Tiny House Villages"? Baker Village was a crime enforcement nightmare for years before it was torn down and replaced, and aren't most trailer parks the blue print of what to expect if government gets back into "tiny house developments"?

Speaking of the Council Agenda.. I suspiciously note there is no mention of a follow-up on last weeks first reading of the $4.5+ MILLION roundabout contract.. it's especially obviously missing since it will be new Councilor House's first Council meeting... oh, and not to mention that there was no report of any discussion put in the M/C L-E last week.

And as we are speaking about Council and the $4.5+ MILLION DOLLAR Roundabout contract.. where's the money coming from? Tom-LYING-son already submitted her 2018-19 (and, thankfully, last budget), and there was no provision for any part of the $4.5+ MILLION mentioned..

Update -- today we finally see in the L-E that the roundabout WAS voted on last week.. Question: Why was this done before John House was sworn in and allowed to  =have input in the decision.. To me, an "at Large" Councilor.. one elected City-Wide should have a big voice in such.

From the "Kiss of Death" department - Did you see the supportive cover of "TIME Magazine" on Stacey Abrams?

---
From the "wow! somebody gets it" department - M/C L-E guest commentary headline: "Trump using tariffs to push a radical free-trade agenda * BY MARC A. THIESSEN * Special to The Washington Post" -- Trump... 2020 Vision for 2018!

---
Online headline/story: "Schumer calls on Bush to release Kavanaugh White House documents * Schumer pointed out that when the Senate considered President Barack Obama's 2010 nomination of Justice Elena Kagan, lawmakers from both parties asked the National Archives and the Clinton library to provide all documents related to Kagan's service in the White House under former President Bill Clinton and those papers were ultimately released." -- Are we talking about the same Sen. Chuck Schumer who recently said, "Time and time again, we find progressive laws getting stuck down. And it's always - always - the ones the Constitution is against. These right-wing judges don't think for themselves, they just do whatever the Constitution says. And it's time for that to end." You know, if Chuck Schumer had said this representing New York at New York ratification date of the Constitution in 1788, the Founding Fathers would have arrested him for treason and hung him from the nearest tree.

---
I want to repeat the above quote by Schumer: ""Time and time again, we find progressive laws getting stuck down. And it's always - always - the ones the Constitution is against. These right-wing judges don't think for themselves, they just do whatever the Constitution says. And it's time for that to end." -- You know, the Supreme Court is not just charged to follow the Constitution's intents, the judges are charged... like even Chuck Schumer is, to UPHOLD the US Constitution.. this statement alone is an affront to everything that makes America GREAT, and Chuck Schumer should be brought up for impeachment or removed from he Senate.

---
From the "let's just blame Trump" department -- NBC headline/story: "Coca-Cola is about to cost you more — thanks to Trump's tariffs * Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey announced this week that rising costs were driving an unusual mid-year need to raise prices to consumers. The reason is "the freight, the metals, the steel, the aluminum going up, the labor going up," he said during a CNBC interview. He directly mentioned tariffs to the Wall Street Journal." -- You know.. inflation is a fact of life.. always has been... always will be.. I remember "nickel Cokes, 7-cent Krystals, and 10-cent gallons of gasoline".. So Coca Cola products go up a penny or two... it won't affect my taste or loyalty for Coke products. Blame Trump? Yes! In fact, I consider it a crowning moment knowing that tariffs on foreign metals have generated the rebirth of American steel and aluminum.. and 1000s of new American jobs.

If you thought the "watch your step" warning you get in an Francisco because of all feces "dumped" out on the sidewalks, just wait until you ride a trolley and get a "watch your seat" warning as well because of drug syringes/needles left on the seats.

---
From the "and the legal profession begins imploding" department - Online story: "Attorneys for Michael Cohen, the former personal lawyer for U.S. President Donald Trump, are expected to ask a federal judge in Los Angeles on Friday to issue a gag order against the lawyer for adult film actress Stormy Daniels. * Cohen's lawyer, Brent Blakely, in a court filing in June asked the federal judge hearing Daniels' lawsuit to prohibit her attorney, Michael Avenatti, from speaking publicly about the case." -- You know.. I hope Cohen's attorney WINS! Just think, there'd be a precedence to get "gag orders" against all those obnoxious TV ad lawyers trolling for victims on TV!

---
From the "there's a list for about everything" department - A 24.& Wall Street "list" is out rating states by how much a teacher makes (average).. The top 5 are NY, Connecticut, California, Alaska, and Massachusetts.. The teachers average range is between $78,576.00 and $74,468.00. Then there's the bottom 5.. N. Carolina, Mississippi, Arizona, South Dakota, and Oklahoma.. where the average is between $39,306.00 and $45, 195.00. Now if you group the averages of each 5-state group, the highest paid earn $77,222 and the lowest earn $42,870. Hmmm the higher group earns 80% more that the lower group... but can the higher group claim that their students learn 80% more than the lower group students? And that.. my friends... is the REAL inequality in this scenario.

---
Online story: "Egypt's state-run media says a court has sentenced 75 people to death, including top figures of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group, for their involvement in a 2013 sit-in. * Saturday's decision in Cairo Criminal Court will now be referred to the Grand Mufti — the country's top theological authority — for his non-binding opinion on the sentences. He usually approves the court's decision. * Sentencing for more than 660 others was set for Sept. 8, according to state-run Al-Ahram news website." -- Hmmm... maybe we should petition for Trump to ease entry requirements for Cairo Criminal Court judges, and give them green cards to run courts hearing the cases of "antifa" protesters.

For the first time since I was 14, I am considering getting a motorcycle...all of a sudden I realized I'd rather have something other than the Harley of my dreams.

---
From the "delusional destiny of DIMocrats" department: "Pelosi describes 9/11 attacks as 'incident,' suggests GOP weaker on border than Democrats" -- Hmmm.. I do believe that between now and November 6th, every Republican running for Congress should run this video as their primary ad for election/re-election.

Oh, and as an added benefit, we can look at all the voters who vote "DIMocrat" as needing to be vetted for their US citizenship, and get our voter lists and illegal aliens lists up-to-date.

55... It's happening...the remains of 55 American soldiers are finally coming home.. they made it to South Korea on Friday to begin their journey home. Trump 2020!

4-point-1...the GDP was just reported with 4.1 % growth for the 2nd quarter.. Two years ago, Obama said we probably would never return to even 3%....the American Eagle and Flag are SOARING Again!

From the "who's the racist" department - Online headline/story: "Bush-bashing Fresno State professor returns to Twitter, calls on 'white editors' to resign * The infamous California university professor who relished in the death of former first lady Barbara Bush is back at it again." -- And this is helping the racial divide? Well, in a sense it is.. she had DIVIDED the races even more!

---
From the "Big F***ing Biden Deals" department - Online headline: "Joe Biden's niece sentenced in $110,000 credit card case" - Good grief.. Biden has a son who divorced his wife after he started having an affair with his dead brother's widow, and has a niece who is a full-fledged DIMocrat .. she loves spending other people's money. No wonder the Obama-Biden team could never produce a balanced budget as they doubled the National Debt.

---
From the "let the purge continue" department - You know, one of the pleasures ...and "duties" of a grandfather is watching "Barbie" movies with your 6 year-old granddaughter. Was doing so the weekend. If you have "Barbie" DVDs, you know that they are front end loaded with "trailers", and 6-year-olds want to watch those, too. Being patient I watched with her. In these movies, one of the "trailers" is for "Curious George 2". Did you know the Matt Lauer...yes, the disgraced NBC talking head is the voice of Hank Hansen..in an announcer role. I think Universal needs to recall all the copies and destroy them. Yeah! Fair is fair!

---
Baltimore really suffered from the recession during the "housing bubble burst".. Property taxes dropped and really hurt the operations of the City.. You know, that the one thing Mayor Tom-LYING-son and her Tax Freeze Assault team failed to think about when she tried to end ours.. If it weren't for the "freeze" Columbus' property tax revenues would have plunged, and if they had, she would not have gotten re-elected in 2014..

---
M/C L-E headline: "Election security could be an issue for Georgia’s Kemp" --
Good grief.. there's only one important issue here.. and it's who will be the best for GA.. and GA's needs.. Starting with budgeting and Abrams brings disaster with her own personal financial chaos.

---
Amazing...the M/C L-E didn't report the finals of the Southeastern Invitation Amateur Championship played here in Columbus for the 89th time until 3 days AFTER the finish, yet keeps us up to date on the minutia of a bicycle race in Europe. And the M/C L-E wonders why Columbus readers aren't interested in subscribing anymore.

M/C L-E headline: "US economy on pace for best year of the decade" -- Why isn't this on the front page, above the fold on every US newspaper?

---
M/C L-E headline: "Mobile home park shooting on Veterans Parkway leaves man, 36, dead, police say" -- What a misleading.. actually DECEPTIVE headline..with the prominence of "our" Veterans Parkway, the M/C L-E should have mentioned Opelika in the headline.

---
M/C L-E headline: "MCSD board reacts to call for action in Myers case" -- It looks like a moot point...guess the voters of Columbus sided with Frank Myers on John House vs Amy Bryan.

---
M/C L-E headline: "12-year-old shot outside Ticknor Drive complex" -- What..21 deaths (22 in my book) so far..but how many more people have been shot..intentionally or randomly.. this year that could have been killed?

From the :the sky is falling, the sky is falling" department - M/C L-E headline: "Trade war with China might hit pecan growers" -- Good grief.. pecans for this year won't even be harvested until the middle of October, and MS-10 is already being a "nervous Ninny".

Online headline: "Planned Parenthood Tells Preschoolers: 'Your genitals don’t make you a boy or a girl'" -- Makes you think someone at Planned Parenthood may have advocated to "rusty coathanger" a male.

From the "he's baaccckkkk" department - "Sanford Bishop for Congress" signs are littering the rights-of-way leading to Green Island Country Club as he has a fund-raiser there today (Monday ). You know, Green Island is not in his Congressional District..wouldn't he be doing his District a favor by having such a fund-raiser WITHIN HIS DISTRICT so some of his voters could benefit?

Creating 22,000 apprenticeship jobs...that's what Stacy Abrams is campaigning on.. Hmmm...apprenticeships for what kind of jobs...My daughter had an apprenticeship job in Atlanta this summer...and hers, like most apprenticeships, paid her ZERO dollars..she just gets a taste of a career, makes some contacts, gets college credit, and an "experience" to put on her resume'. The trouble with Abrams' concept is that individual businesses determine if..and who, they will take on as an apprentice. Abrams promise is just further evidence of her lack of knowledge as to how jobs are created.

From the "average is a four-letter word with 3 extra letters" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY * District improves on half of state tests but lags Georgia average * for the second straight year, MCSD didn’t surpass the state average on any test. * The gap is as large as 17 percentage points in fourth-grade math (MCSD 30, state 47) and as small as 1 percentage point in high school economics (MCSD 48, state 49)." -- You know... I was taught that "average" is either the "worst of the best" or the "best of the worst".. and that "average" is neither a worthy goal nor satisfactory destination. Being "below average" is the pits!

From the "trifecta of non-credibility" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Michael Cohen says Trump knew about Trump Tower meeting with Russians in advance: CNN" -- Good grief.. a HuffPOOPOO repeat of a CNN story supplied by Michael Cohen.

Michael Cohen... just took over as the number one reason why 99% of lawyers ruin the reputation of the other 1%.. The Clintons drop to "number 2" (Insert your imagined emoji here)

Looking at the budget bloats and economic woes of California, Illinois, and New York (with a combined Electoral College Vote of 104), the rest of the states can be thankful that the US Constitution doesn't allow them to print their own money...and that Obama is not around to issue an Executive Order not to enforce the Constitution, and that Trump won't appoint a liberal to the Supreme Court who would side with Breyer, Sotomayor, Kagan and Ginsburg.

---
From the "and the folly of this is" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "A man who decimated President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a pickax on Wednesday is reportedly being offered bail from a man who vandalized the same marker in 2016.
* James Otis said he would pay Austin Clay’s $20,000 bail after the 24-year-old claimed responsibility for the severe destruction along the sidewalk in Hollywood, according to TMZ. Otis is an heir to the Otis Elevator Co., which is one of the largest elevator and escalator companies in the world." -- You know.. all these anarchist DIMocrats are doing is assuring that Trump's "star" will always be the newest and brightest "STAR" on the block... and to boot, Trump is still their President. It has to be tough being a liberal, and as John Wayne said, "it's even tougher when they are stupid".

---
Be careful when you hear DIMocrats claim "we are a nation of laws"... they only mean the laws they like... at the time.

Made in America..not just a slogan, a way of life. Trump 2020!

I heard that Atlanta's unemployment figure went up 6-tenths of a percent to 4.0. It was being "justified" by the number of recent college grads and summer job seekers. Then I heard there are 46,000 jobs open in Atlanta. This just means that the grads of colleges and high schools are just not prepared for the job market.

Drive-thrus should seriously consider investing in better communication equipment. My bride clearly said we wanted two sandwiches and a large Diet Coke, and the attendant spoke it back as "2 sandwiches and a large chili".

Here it is, over 2 months since he promised to provide his required Campaign Disclosures and Zeph Baker has not done so. Where are the Election Police!

---
I guess the $4.5+ MILLION DOLLAR RiverRoad Roundabout was discussed in Tuesday's Council meeting, but there's been nothing in the M/C L-E newspaper to confirm or deny this.. Two things I can tell you from my end is that my readers were not prepared.. even with my constant insistence that Council put up the numbers before the elections .. for the amount of money being spent to save a few bucks on traffic light maintenance, but what I also have noticed is that none of the TROLLS.. (neither the Mayor's nor GA DOT Pa-TROLLs has offered comments about their support of it now that the figure has been announced.. I also have seen more support for a bridge over the intersection as being better received than the roundabout itself.

The M/C L-E must be running short of cash.. when was the last time the M/C L-E ran it's citizens' "Two Cents" column?

---
2020 will be fun and exciting.. Trump will be out with new promises to keep because he's keeping all the ones he made in 2016, while whoever the DIMocrat candidate is will only be making the same old promises uttered by every past DIMocrat candidate that have never been kept.

---
M/C L-E headline: "Georgia governor’s matchup sets a battle for the middle" -- Good grief.. all Kemp needs to do is publish Abrams personal credit reports and publish any transactions that "all of a sudden" pay off her debts for student loans, the IRS, and her credit cards.

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "XXXTentacion murder suspect arrested at sister’s Georgia house * Dodge County sheriff’s deputies booked Robert Allen, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, into the jail in Eastman after members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested him Wednesday. * He was previously convicted on 21 counts of fraudulent use of identification and is on probation for those crimes until September 2021." -- If the court system did its job.. whether for good or not, XXXTentacion could be alive today (well, it has been a month+ since he was killed). If Allen had been serving his complete sentence, he'd have been in jail, not robbing and killing..

What's it going to take.. a family member suing the court system for wrongful death before the court system takes crime seriously?

Monday, I posted a list of addresses that the City was going to raze at taxpayer expenses.. two of the addresses were listed owned by one person.. I also pointed out that person also had 18 other properties in Columbus. Today, I learned two other facts... that the 20 properties have a combined tax debt of over $49,000.00, and that's with 2 of them actually being current..I also learned that the owner died in 2014.. and only a couple of the properties show some kind of "estate" status. It also seems a couple of those properties have "exchanged hands".. why wasn't the tax lien collected before the settlement and transfer?

---
One of those properties scheduled for razing lists it's owner living at another residence in Williamsburg, VA. The tax database shows no taxes have been paid since 2011 (as far as the records go back). Another oddity is that a person of the same name is listed here in Columbus at another address (coincidentally since 2011) with a H1 exemption. Seems to me that the Tax Office could cross reference the names of delinquent tax owers and go after such.

---
For the first time in a long time, I have to agree with Paul Ryan about not doing an impeachment of Rosenstein... Congress should just file "Contempt" charges against him, and demand the Supreme Court order the FISA Court Judges who accepted the FISA application Rosenstein signed to go after Rosenstein for all associated violations

Oh.. about 12:30ish yesterday.. there was a slew of police cars and police officer lined up on Bradley Park Drive... lights flashing.. Anyone know if it was just "meet & greet" or whether it might be a "distracted driving" trap.. I do know, that many cars and police officers was very distracting to most of the drivers passing by.

From the "Yoo hoo, HuffPOOPOO.. it's Canada!" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "After a mass shooting left three people dead, including the shooter, in Toronto on Sunday, the city’s conservative mayor backed a proposal that even the most liberal American politicians wouldn’t dare support ― a total ban on all handgun sales." -- After knowing it's "just Canada", calling a Mayor proposing a handgun sales ban a conservative has to be an attempt at raucous liberal humor... except for one thing.. liberals have no sense of humor. Besides, when handgun sales are banned, only felons will buy and sell guns, and the government won't get any of the sales tax revenues.

Online headline: "Jerry Jones will require Dallas Cowboys players to stand for the national anthem" -- WooHoo! A fellow BCer sent this to me last week when I was traveling.. This is one of those "too funny not to pass along moments":

------------------------------
Looks like America's soy bean farmers won't be having any marketing problem..President Trump has made a deal with the European Union...and at same time cut the legs off China's retaliatory tariffs..At the same time, China has just lost a huge amount of soy beans it can buy to feed it's own citizens. Trump 2020!

I don't care what the NY law says about it being legal to intentionally conceal one person recording another, for a lawyer doing so to an unknowing client should be an automatic disbarment, and reimbursement of any fees to clients he's ever recorded.

HufPOOPOO headline: "Michael Cohen not seeking pardon from Donald Trump, attorney Lanny Davis says" -- No hock Sherlock!

Let's look at Lanny Davis.. in liberal media words and his own:

"he once wrote to Hillary Clinton that “The honest to goodness truth is … aside from Carolyn, my four children, and my immediate family, I consider you to be the best friend and the best person I have met in my long life.”

Oh, let's not forget Lanny was the "go to" guy to make Bill Clinton less slimy during the Monica Lewis scandal..

Davis has been known to wade into even murkier waters. He was on the payroll of the former president of the Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo, who tried to steal an election that he had already delayed to keep himself in power. (Thousands died in the ensuing conflict.) He also worked for the president of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang, who has committed major human rights violations for almost four decades. Other Davis clients have included Penn State during the Sandusky scandal, Harvey Weinstein, and for-profit colleges. More recently, he has given unpaid advice to Steve Bannon.

He similarly explained his work as one of three foreign agents for the government of Equatorial Guinea, which has been governed for three decades by Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. Rights groups and anticorruption activists have accused Mr. Obiang of embezzling hundreds of millions of dollars from his tiny oil-rich West African state, while most of its people scrape by in dire poverty.

“I’m a liberal Democrat,” Mr. Davis said, referring to his work for Mr. Obiang. “I’ve been a liberal Democrat all my life. I haven’t changed my values. But what am I supposed to do if the leader of a country comes to me and says he wants to get right with the world, and get right with the United States? Am I supposed to say no, and let him go on doing what he’s doing? Or should I try to help him get right?”

---
Lanny Davis told the truth...well at least a dreaded half truth...when he said nowhere on the Cohen tape he played did Trump say "don't pay". Of course Davis abruptly stopped the tape before it was over.

---
Where are the FISA judges? With what's been revealed about the FISA applications being falsified, any FISA judge should feel violated. Unfortunately, the judges were "shopped" by the DIMocrats and had to been complicit in the scheme to undermine Trump.. The House Republicans should file impeachment charges on those judges unless they issue charges against the FBI execs who presented the falsified applications.

---
From the "hypocrisy..thy name is DIMocrat" department - We listen to DIMocrats concerns about Russians being in other countries illegally, yet they jump to the defense of illegal aliens in our country.

---
I know it not just me, but after watching DIMocrat Senators fail miserably in contributing pertinence to the inquiry of Mike Pompeo, it's obvious there is no leadership in the entire DIMocrat Party ...who will the DIMocrats run in 2020?

---
When DIMocrats were complaining to Pompeo that they didn't know what Trump discussed with Putin, I wish Pompeo had responded that DIMocrats KNEW that Obama told Putin he "would be more flexible after the election" and didn't seem interested in what Obama meant.

---
The GA Primary runoffs were just completed...amazingly, voting results showed about 90% of statewide voters from the May GOP primaries came back to vote in the GOP runoffs..Trump voters are driven to help Trump complete his promises and mission to Make America Great Again!

---
Before Tuesday's results, I had advocated Cagle in the GOP runoff, because I thought Kemp may have been too damaged to win in November. I was startled at the margin Kemp with even though he'd been my initial choice. What this showed is that GA Republican and independent conservatives will be motivated to show up in November. Trump Rules! TRUMP 2020.

---
You know, I hope school and City issues brought to the Board/Council are determined by 5-4 votes on the MCSB and 5-5 (with the mayor casting the deciding vote) on Council. As citizen, a close vote on new issues indicates that there had been adequate and informed discussions, and our elected officials are concerned with the future of of city.

---
Another of my Breakfast Clubbers made a good observation about the City wanting to spend $4.5 MILLION on a roundabout at River Road rather than a few hundred dollars a year on electricity to run the traffic lights. He suggested that it would be better..and cheaper.. to build a bridge on River Road over the intersection and eliminate all the safety arguments the Mayor has spieled to justify it.

---
Hmmm...did I see..hear.. right..that Nancy Pelosi is going to present clues/answers on "Jeopardy" this coming Monday night? Guess she'll be at ease doing this with all the practice she's had at presenting all the answers she makes the DIMocrat representatives in Congress repeat.

Online headline/story: "California city OKs jail time for defying plastic straw ban * Santa Barbara earlier this month passed the ordinance authorizing hefty fines and even a possible jail sentence for violators who dole out plastic straws at restaurants, bars and other food establishments. * According to the ordinance, violators on their first offense will be given a written warning notice. But the second time a purveyor of plastic straws defies the ban is when the heavy hand of the law could clamp down. * In that case, the ordinance cites penalties from the city’s municipal code for a “fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), imprisonment for a term not exceeding six (6) months.” -- Hmmm...guess restaurant/food service owners will now only hire illegal aliens to work since no local law enforcement officer will arrest an illegal alien in a "sanctuary city"..

---
Online headline/story: "New York Gov. Cuomo pardons illegal immigrants facing deportation for crimes * The New York Democrat, who is up for re-election this year, pardoned seven people who had minor criminal convictions, ranging from petty larceny to drug possession, his office said." -- You know, if Cuomo wants to pardon criminals for crimes against New Yorkers, that's between him and NY voters...but damn if he has a right to pardon anyone for a crime against a federal law.

Oh... one thing Cuomo's act indicates is that he's probably knowledgeable about illegal aliens being registered to vote, and this is his appeal to them.

From the "no DIMocrat saw this coming" department - Online headline/story: "Republican challenger pulls even with anti-Trump Democrat in solid-blue Oregon's governor's race: poll * If there's a "blue wave" coming in 2018, someone may have forgotten to tell Oregon's voters. A Republican challenger has pulled even with blue state Oregon's Democratic incumbent governor, according to a new poll. * The news comes as a surprise in a state that hasn’t seen a Republican governor since late 1980s, sparking fears of the end of Democratic Party’s total domination of the state." -- From the "no DIMocrat saw this coming" department - Online headline/story: "Republican challenger pulls even with anti-Trump Democrat in solid-blue Oregon's governor's race: poll * If there's a "blue wave" coming in 2018, someone may have forgotten to tell Oregon's voters. A Republican challenger has pulled even with blue state Oregon's Democratic incumbent governor, according to a new poll. * The news comes as a surprise in a state that hasn’t seen a Republican governor since late 1980s, sparking fears of the end of Democratic Party’s total domination of the state." -- Guess Oregonians have woken up and realized they are stuck between California and Washington, and have seen what's happened to those 2 states.

Tomorrow will be the highly anticipated announcement of how the economy soared in the 2nd Quarter... we've already seen some fantastic profit results from early reporting companies, so expectations are high. Dined with one of my nephews last week who has a major financial management franchise, and he said that as soon as Trump was elected that their corporate research department stated that we would be seeing a major surge because... because companies who had been spending major dollars on lawyers to research how to best work with and around Obama's EPA and Financial regulations would now be spending that money on marketing and promoting company growth. It's happening! Trump 2020!

---
From the "can't you EASILY see this happening here?" department - Online headline/story: "Seattle's $52M streetcar fiasco the latest setback for city's anti-Trump mayor * Seattle’s anti-Trump mayor, Jenny Durkan, may be on track for a political backlash: Her city’s $52 million money splash on public transit appears doomed because new taxpayer-funded streetcars apparently won’t fit the existing tracks. * But the new streetcars also are reportedly heavier and longer than the ones currently in use, raising concerns about whether they'll be used at all. * “It appears the error will require either a change order for design of the streetcars or incur new costs for construction of new or retrofitted maintenance barns,” City Council member Lisa Herbold wrote in the city’s blog post last week. * Durkan had to temporarily stop work on the project after revelations that it may cost 50 percent more than previously estimated, the Times reported. The estimated total cost has already increased from $150 million to $200 million. -- Hmmm.. wonder if Columbus, GA's "anti-Trump Mayor has checked her high-speed rail figures already?

Remember "Dobie Gillis" (a.k.a. "Ziggy Incarnate)? He's 84 today.. Happy b'day, Dwayne Hickman!

Basically, to be a "city" in Georgia, the local taxing authority(s) (a.k.a. "government"), citizens must be provided police, fire, garbage, and education services. To pay for those, property taxes can levied.. as a compensation, the federal government allows us to deduct what we pay in property taxes on our Federal Tax forms. Tha brings me to this.. my last water bill was for a shade over $15.00... but by time fees for Sewage, Combined Sewer Overflow, and garbage collections are thrown in, my "water" bill is over $56.00. I'm really not complaining about the water bill itself..or the C.S.O fee, but it riles me that my sewage fee is more than my water bill...how can it cost more it send LESS water that I take in from an elaborate pressured water pipe system than to return it through a gravity based sewer system? Now, the item that angers me is the garbage fee.. when I pay my taxes, I can deduct my property taxes, but I can't deduct this garbage fee. How about one of you non-City Government lawyers checking out why the City can charge us directly for garbage, when the state says the City must provide such as a condition of existence?

About the rush of DIMocrats to force the immigration services to pair off children at the border with adults in a time restrained period.. yet, the DIMocrats do not demand that proof of parentage is a condition of accomplishment.

---
M/C L-E story: "Police charged a Columbus teenager Tuesday with firing a gun into the air on 19th Avenue. * Alan Joshua Jenkins, 18, faced one count of reckless conduct and discharging a firearm in the city." -- Hmmm... charged with "discharging a firearm in the city"... Hmmm... I cannot remember the last time I saw anyone who was arrested for shooting or killing someone in Columbus having the charge added on to their other crimes..

---
M/C L-E headline/story: "DeVos proposes to curb relief for student loans * Education Secretary Betsy DeVos proposed Wednesday to curtail Obama administration loan forgiveness rules for students defrauded by for-profit colleges, requiring that student borrowers show they have fallen into hopeless financial straits or prove that their colleges knowingly deceived them." -- You know.. without proper vetting of students capabilities, and colleges' credibility, no loans should be given on "signature" even with co-signers.. Not every degree offered is going to have a pathway to higher income levels which make it good bet that the loan receivers will be able to meet their obligations. All indiscriminate loans have done is raise the costs of education for all.

From the "so many inherently wrongs I don't know where to start" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "A tape of President Donald Trump and his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen discussing a payment to former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who says she had an affair with Trump, aired on CNN Tuesday night." -- 1st, of course is Trump's ego.. but at that time he wasn't even contemplating running for office. 2nd, The tape's validity as "evidence" will not pass muster in any Court of Appeals. 3rd, 3rd, the tape was questionably stolen out of an office that had attorney/client privilege. 4th, CNN aired "evidence", though in my book, illegally acquired (and didn't we just have a case in Columbus, GA involving a confession (evidence) that was thrown out by a Court of Appeals as being illegally acquired by the DA's office?), and is part of an ongoing inquiry? And 5th, why wasn't CNN doing a story on American Media head David Pecker (who bought McDougal’s story) for attempted blackmail?

---
You know, the one thing that will destroy mainscream media's future credibility is it's lack of comprehension of how courageous President Trump IS! Can you imagine any other President keeping his promise to keep his promises under the onslaught of the mainscream media/DIMocrat coalition?

---
Online headline: "Trump-backed candidate wins Republican primary for Georgia governor: media" -- Hmmm... Bet the Republicans running in November will be lining up for Trump's vote of confidence. And it looks like November will not have the anticipated "Blue Wave" the DIMocrats are praying for (of course we don't know who or what DIMocrats are praying to).. Instead, it looks like November will just be "BLUE" as DIMocrats "wave" bye-bye.

From the "something Hitler's doctors would try" department - Online story: "Eleven babies are dead after women were given the erectile dysfunction medication Viagra during pregnancy as part of a drug trial in the Netherlands. * The study involving 183 pregnant women at the University Medical Center in Amsterdam was stopped following the deaths of the babies, local news agency de Volksrant reported. The purpose of the study was to see if vasodilator sildenafil, known as Viagra, would promote blood flow of the placenta, helping the baby grow." -- Excuse me, but what "doctor" would give an already pregnant woman sexual dysfunction medicine? I don't care what the "doctors" wanted to see about increased "blood flow", it sounds like Hitler's "doctors" trying to influence his "super race".

---
Online headline: "Demi Lovato 'awake and with her family' after apparent overdose: A look at her struggles with drugs and alcohol" -- Sadly, our young generation is encouraged to look at Lovato, a star of "Barney" and Disney, as a successful role model for girls.. Now, at 25, she's wrapped up in heavy drugs. Unfortunately... UNFORTUNATELY. she'll return to the spotlight and act like nothing happened, and our children/grandchildren we see it and think they can cheat a drug death.

---
From the "I know the reason" department - Online story: " A federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday that the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment protects the right to openly carry a gun in public for self-defense, rejecting a claim by Hawaii officials that the right only applies to guns kept at home. * The ruling by a three-judge panel on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, makes the San Francisco-based court the sixth U.S. circuit court to interpret the Second Amendment this way and could set the issue on a path toward the U.S. Supreme Court, which has not taken up a major gun rights case since 2010." -- The reason should be very. VERY obvious.. the judges live in a sanctuary city where illegals carry guns, and the judges like going to Hawaii. It's the 9th District.. surely you don't think those judges were simply upholding the Constitution.

Now that the truth is out about the exorbitant projected costs of building the roundabout at River Road ( from ZERO City dollars in 2012-14, to over $4.5 MILLION in 2018, how accurate do you think Mayor Tom-LYING-son's high speed rail folly will be?
In January of 2014, she estimated it at $19.9 BILLION.. let's compare those figures with the reality of the roundabout figures:

In 2014, total costs projected up until the re-plan in 2016 was $1.5 Million.. all of which was state money (versus local), Now, the plan is estimated at $4.5+ MILLION and there was no mention of state money. Still $1.5 Million has turned into$4.5 MILLION.. triple the original projected costs..

Applying the same logic to Mayor Tom-LYING-son's high speed rail costs in 2014 of $19.9 BILLION, we're looking at nearly $60 BILLION, and the first rail hasn't been laid.

---
Speaking of roundabouts: While we were in Virginia, we had to negotiate a 4 access roundabout on a hi-way that had much less traffic than the proposed one here at River Rd/Bradley Park/Green Island/Cascade. It was in Gordonsville, VA.. We noticed that one of..possibly the heaviest traffic entry, had a "Stop" before entering...I asked an old-timer at a convenience store/gas station if it always had a "Stop" sign...he immediately got livid that it started out with a "Yield" but so many fender-benders happened at that entry-point, that it was replaced.

---
We bought the DVD of "Chappaquiddick" in Virginia before we found out our HP DVD player did not include a "driver" that would play DVD movies. So, we watched it Tuesday night...I honestly believe some Kennedy family member either did the script or paid off the director. What a waste of time and money. No wonder it flopped at the theater. Not only was there nothing new, it didn't even handle well what we already knew we knew.

---
It's interesting that all these former Security personnel who are using their top level clearances to leak crap about Trump have not done so about any other President or Secretary of State they served with/under..I'd love to hear the secret info on Obama and Hellary concerning Benghazi!

---
While in Virginia, we saw a slightly older Suburu.. Knowing Suburus are the symbol of academia liberalism, we were stunned to see a Trump/Pence sticker on the back window. I'll bet that Suburu had a Hellary sticker on it at one time ... til the owners stopped drinking Kool-Aid.

---
As a matter of follow up, it's apparent that the City database was not "fixed" after I reported that no property's record of tax payments is shown in he files. I really want to know the tax payment history of all the properties that the City is going to spend $128,000 of taxpayer funds to tear down.

Hmmm... It looks as if North Korea is moving on it's promise to take down another missile testing site. Trump 2020.

---
Now that it's been established that DIMocrats did try to influence the 2016 elections (and their own primary), let's post Trump appointed (and armed) observers in every polling and vote counting facility for the 2018 & 2020 elections.

---
Online headline: "House votes to repeal ObamaCare's medical device tax" -- And by a 283-132 vote so at least 50+ DIMocrats have stopped drinking Pelosi's Kool-Aid.. Guess they are worried about November..

---
I am so glad to be home.. Wednesday a week ago and this past Monday, I showered in wimpy Marriott hotel showers. Last Thurs-Fri-Sat and Sun I "showered" in a cast-iron tub with a shower wand. Yesterday morning, I had a real shower with real water pressure and real elbow room. Why do I ever travel? Well, it is mind-opening, and it surely makes me appreciate what I have at home.

---
Listening to Paul Ryan in his capacity as House Speaker demonstrates why the Republicans have so easily kowtowed to DIMocrat negotiations. Ryan has no clue on how to successfully utilize the tariff options to regain a level playing ground for American businesses. Ryan is ready leaving the House after this term, so he should voluntarily step down as Speaker and allow a Trump supporting Republican to get started presenting Trump policies to the House.

---
Heard one DIMocrat political wonk defending ex-CIA/FBI execs keeping their security clearance "in case their experience/knowledge is needed in a new situation ". What BS! If a president NEEDS such advice from a former security exec, the president can allow the former exec to regain temporary access to security files needed.

---
I'm still getting flak about speaking up for Frank Myers concerning his jab at a person who stuck her "toe" into the political war arena.. Hey.. Frank has always been a jerk.. but he's our loveable jerk, and his "jerkiness" has benefited students and taxpayers alike during his service to the community as the MCSB District 8 Representative.. As a community, we are all more aware and better informed at the lack of transparency in our school system. Frank, we love you as you are which means not everyone is going going to be happy when you are on a roll, but he's always welcome in my home..

Hey. it looks like Frank's support of House over Bryan helped.. that'll gall the TOM-LYING-son coalition. Congratulations John!

---
The local runoff results are gratifying.. voters in Columbus woke up enough to realize that if the candidates who were already getting paid in their private jobs by taxpayer money, they would not only be "double-dipping" but voting on their own paychecks as well. Congrats to House and Edmondson!

---
Online headline: "Attorney General Jeff Sessions repeats 'lock her up' chant" -- Hmmm... guess Sessions is trying to get back in Trump's good graces..

From the "bias? what bias?" department - ABC News headline: "US announces billions to help farmers hurt by Trump tariffs.. Hmmm -- so now the libs are against supporting farmers because Trump is offering a support system for them should... SHOULD things deteriorate.. Funny, a buncha Republicans are upset at Trump, too... Guess Trump is RIGHT ON THE MARK!

To be honest.. China cannot feed itself, and will eventually have to come back to American farmers .. the tariff's China is imposing only hurts it's own citizens.

---
M/C L-E headline: "Health care company that owns St. Francis Hospital is being sold to private equity firm" -- Well.. it's cemented now.. Columbus citizens will have zero input on local healthcare costs..Council has let Columbus Regional become Atlanta run (and did Council stop the property tax contribution from going to Atlanta?), and who knows who where St Francis' decision will be made.

---
Online headline/story: "Cal Thomas: San Francisco makes it clear what immigration debate is all about -- votes for Democrats * San Francisco is permitting “undocumented immigrants,” as political correctness demands we label them, to register to vote this November in local school board elections. Who doubts this is the first step by the left and Democrats toward full voting rights in state and eventually in federal elections? The claim by lawyers will be that it is discriminatory to allow undocumented immigrants to vote in local and state elections and not for members of Congress and for president. At bottom this is what the entire immigration debate is about." -- Hmmm... beginning January 1st, 2019, The US Congress and Senate need to put a stop on California electees having votes on any legislative action..

Online headline/story: "MIDTERM ELECTIONS * McCaskill campaign hit with report on husband's federal subsidy windfall * Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill was hit with another politically damaging report Tuesday when her local newspaper revealed businesses tied to her husband have gotten more than $131 million in federal subsidies since she took office. * Husband Joseph Shepard doesn't personally pocket that money. But he has benefited from profits from the housing projects he's invested in that received those subsidies. * in 2017, Shepard reportedly earned between $365,374 and $1.1 million "from investments in housing projects that received federal subsidies." " -- Hmmm... makes McCaskill's use of an airplane to travel to campaign stops where she gets on her McCaskill RV Tour Bus" to make it look like "she's one of the people" rather minute to her husband's taxpayer abuse.

Oh, and while we're talking about Senator's spouses, let's not forget the sweetheart deal Diane Feinstein's husband, Richard C. Blum. and investment banker, being give the profit rights to selling over a BILLION dollars of closed Post Office Buildings.

Online headline: "Black lemonade stand owner says police questioned him while he opened his kiosk" -- Hmmm... I guess San Francisco is not so much a "Sanctuary City" if you are an AMERICAN citizen!

M/C L-E headline: "TSYS profit surges nearly 24 percent to $142.4 million in second quarter" -- Hmmm... and do we hear a big "Thank You, President Trump. for the new tax rates!

From the "only the California biased US 9th District Court would uphold this law" department - Online headline/story: "Prosecutors have at least 12 recordings by Trump lawyer Cohen * In New York state it is legal to record a conversation if one party consents." -- You know, I can understand a law that allows secret recordings when a judge has authorized such activity based on presentation of other evidence that shows a target of a criminal investigation has connections to a crime, but.... BUT, under what part of the Constitution supports one person secretly recording a voluntary conversation when one member of the conversation has no knowledge? This is not an "open mic" situation where a person knowingly wearing/using a microphone says something that gets unintentionally recorded ("This is a Big F-ing Deal"... "I'll be more flexible after the election"), and a lawyer on his own taping his client unknowingly is an unpardonable criminal... hey, ask Richard Nixon.. oooops, he's dead now.
---
From the "worst LIE ever made by a lawyer for his client" department - Online story: ""My client Stormy Daniels and her husband Glen have decided to end their marriage," Avenatti tweeted. "Stormy's daughter remains her number one priority. She kindly asks for privacy for the sake of her family." -- '"privacy for the sake of her family"? They have to be kidding...
---
On a local note: "Hey, John Pezold.. how's your troll-buddy Jason Spencer doing today"
---
From the "wake up call for vegans and millennials" department - Online story: "A study has linked vitamin D deficiency with an increased risk for cancer and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis MS, and lupus. Researchers found, through mapping vitamin D receptors binding throughout the human genome, that vitamin D deficiency is an environmental factor in increasing the risk of developing these disorders." -- So, milk is NOT just for babies anymore... again..
---
What happened to Whoopi Goldberg? I remember enjoying her movies in the past.. "The Color Purple", "Ghost" and "Eddie" were particular favorites of mine.. now I wouldn't watch any pf her movies, much less, actually pay to see them..Oh.. it wasn't me that changed.

If you're wondering about that killer in Toronto.. his name was 29-year-old Faisal Hussain. 2 dead... 13 injured... that was a lot of talk about his mental health issues.. religion was carefully tip-toed around.

Did I read right? That Trump's overall ratings JUMPED a point at the time of the Helsinki meeting with Putin.... and that 88% of Republicans support him strongly... and that only 79% of Hellary voters disagreed with Trump? Remember the Hellary figures.. 21% have further abandoned her... and probably the next DIMocrat candidate.

M/C L-E story: "The city is spending $125,261 to tear down a dozen homes that have been declared a nuisance or that are in such disrepair the property affects the health and welfare of the surrounding community. John C. Hudgison, director of Building Inspections & Code Enforcement Department, said the contractor for the city has been preparing to start work on the properties since Columbus Council approved demolition in June. * The homes are scattered throughout the city, from the north end to the south end of the county. The dozen include: 3020 Fourth Ave.; 816 34th Ave.; 402 Timberlane Drive; 505 23rd St.; 908 Benning Drive; 329 25th St.; 755 Portland Ave.; 3045 Reese Road; 601 23rd St.; 607 23rd St.; 218 28th St. and 138 Torch Hill Road. * The cost to raze each lot ranges from a low of $6,156 to a high of $17,649." -- I feel some of theses dilapidated properties have stories relating to hard times or estate issues of a deceased owner, but.. But there are some REAL questionable about the City's taxpayers having to front the costs of demolishing. My first question is why aren't the owners' names published with the addresses...but there are 7 properties (6 owners) as of January 1, 2018 that need some "splainin'":
1 - 816 34th Ave, owned by E. M. Blair but tax correspondence is sent to 8627 Battery Ct which has another owner with a H5 Exemption
2 - 505 23rd St, owned by Denney Construction Company in Lawrenceville, GA.. on top of this home, Denney Construction owns another in Columbus as well.
3 - 755 Portland Avenue, owned by K. McCallister.. but tax correspondence is sent to Columbus Habitat.
4 - 601 & 607 23rd St, owned by Percy Tindall.. who owns 18 other properties, has all tax correspondence sent to a PO Box, and has no Columbus property where he has any homestead exemption.
5 - 218 28th St, owned by Jeffrey Mobley who lives in Lumpkin, GA
6 - 138 Torch Hill Rd, owned by Lorraine Walker, who's tax correspondence is sent to anoter person in Williamsburg, VA
I think that before ANY of these homes are demolished at taxpayer expense, we taxpayers need to know what steps are being taken to sue these owners... especially the properties owned by a construction company, Habitat, the out-of-town-owners, and especially the 20-parcel landowner.
To boot, the City needs to fix the tax database.. the tax payment records of all these and every other property in Columbus are not available on the database today.

The Paul Manafort trial is going to be another embarrassment for Mueller...not only is it probable that some top DIMocrat strategists and officials activities will be revealed, but now we find that 5 of Mueller's witnesses have been granted "immunity".. what juror, well, what conscientious juror can give credibility to a witness that is probably more guilty than the defendant?
---
You know what free college tuition would create...tons of new remedial teachers to do what didn't happen when the students were in high school that would have prepared them to take career courses at college. To boot, the teachers for remedial courses probably aren't qualified to get jobs as teachers of NON-remedial courses.

Today if the runoff election date..While state races have restrictions based of party declaration, but there are two local races ..in one. every local registered voter can have a say, and in the other, those of MCSD 2 get to pick a candidate.. Two of the candidates get paid with taxpayer funds. I advocate voting for their opponents so no financial pressure can be exerted on their votes. In Council Post 10 at Large, vote FOR John House.. in MCSB District, vote FOR Mike Edmondson

From the "another local JURY FAIL" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Jury reaches verdict in homicide of popular Columbus High grad * A Columbus jury found James Oliver not guilty of all charges Monday in the Dec. 17, 2016, fatal shooting of Bobby Jerome Seawright Jr. * Oliver faced charges of malice or deliberate murder, of felony murder for allegedly killing Seawright while committing the felony of aggravated assault, of aggravated assault and of three counts of using a firearm to commit a felony." -- Not only will the family of Bobby Jerome Seawright, JR never receive closure of this heinous act, the rest of Columbus will never sleep safely again with the "non guilty" defendant back out on the streets. You know, in recent weeks I've reported on two stories of felony arrests printed in the M/C L-E.. in one, there were 65 arrested, and 32 had charges of violating their parole/probation conditions as well, and this past week, I reported on another M/C L-E story on 67 felon arrests, and 46... that's right.. 46 of 67 had parole/probation charges added to their new crimes.. I don't care how many police officers we have, Columbus crime stats will not decrease (not legitimately) if our juries don't convict criminals on the most severe charges, and our court system doesn't hold convicted felons.. especially those convicted of violent crimes.. to serving the full sentences they are given.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "New York Daily News Layoffs Ax Half The Newsroom Staff" -- unfortunately, I'll bet the wrong half was dismissed..

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "McDonald’s Franchise Appears To Zing Chick-fil-A By Vowing To ‘Welcome Everyone’ * A Connecticut-based McDonald’s franchise is vowing to “welcome everyone” with new roadside signage that some are interpreting as a less-than-subtle dig at a Chick-fil-A that moved in next door." -- Actually, that McDonald's says that the new sign is not a "dig" at Chick-fil-A, but just a happy greeting.. and as anyone in the LGBTQ community know, Chick-fil-A cheerfully serves "everyone".. now, that sign at the McDonald's may attract customers of Chick=foil-A on Sunday's as Chick-fil-A is CLOSED so all it's team members.. even straight ones. can spend time with their church and family if they so choose.
---
M/C L-E headline/story: "Trump wants some intel security clearances revoked * President Donald Trump plans to revoke the security clearances of a handful of former officials who have been critical of his rhetoric and actions toward Russia, the White House announced Monday, in a move that immediately prompted claims of political retaliation." -- "political retaliation"? Good grief.. former Obama appointees have certainly abused their clearances to personally profit in book/speaking deals and TV appearances. Not only should their clearance be revoked immediately upon being fired/replaced or retirement, but all such personnel should be banned from writing books or speaking out about their actions/opinions for a minimum of 8 years..
---
From the "who swallowed the pill?" department - L-E story: "On Sunday, Papa John’s announced a stockholder rights plan – commonly known as a “poison pill.” The maneuver would block any investor from acquiring more than 15 percent of Papa John’s stock without board approval. The company’s founder, John Schnatter, remains on the board and already owns a 29 percent stake. The new plan would constrain Schnatter’s stake to less than 50 percent." -- Good grief.. the Papa John's board may as well have swallowed that pill themselves.. the 71% shareholder base will now suffer as the company will not be attractive to other outside investors looking for a potential takeover which would increase the value to ALL shareholders.

Looks like the M/C L-E's "Foreclosure Section" is hanging strong at 11 pages again..nice legacy, Mayor.... NOT!

From the "short convenient hypocritical memory" department - Online headline/story: Hillary Clinton slams President Trump over his summit with Russia's Vladimir Putin * “We don’t know what was said in the room with just the two of them,” Clinton said during an appearance at the OZY Fest. “Usually you need others in there and you particularly need a note taker so that there can be no mistake about what was said.” -- "so that there can be no mistake about what was said"?-- Hmmm.. this tripe from the same person who had her cellphones and hard drives destroyed and/or "bleached" so no one would know what she said?..And let's not forget her faux pas on the trite "reset" button event.. here's the CNN story snippet:

"We (Hellary and Obama and Biden) worked hard to get the right Russian word. Do you think we got it?" she asked Lavrov, laughing.

“You got it wrong," said Lavrov, as both diplomats laughed.

“It should be “perezagruzka” [the Russian word for reset]," said Lavrov."This says ‘peregruzka,’ which means ‘overcharged.’”

In retrospect, if there was any collusion to influence the election, Hellary colluded to lose. Even the Russians COULDN'T have influenced the DIMocrats that abandoned her.

From the "I can damage myself without your help" department - Online headline/story: "Maxine Waters supporters burn American flag outside California rep's office * Supporters of Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters reportedly burned and stomped on an American flag they snatched off a pickup truck Thursday, while chanting "Black power" outside her California office. * The demonstrators showed up with the intent of countering a planned protest from a far-right group. * That group, the Oath Keepers, had said they would rally against the congresswoman they call a "protest terrorist inciter" early Thursday afternoon, prompting counterprotesters to rally in support of Waters. But the Oath Keepers did not arrive, the Los Angeles Times reported." -- "the Oath Keepers did not arrive"? Hmmm.. I guess when the "Oathkeepers" heard a Maxine Waters Support Group would be there, Maxine Waters Support Group's image/message would be more damaging to Waters than anything the Oathkeepers would say/do, so why get in their way.

Have had a couple of responses about my comments on something Frank Myers said: Politics is vicious.. No one knows it better than I do... putting out a personal slant on issues subjects one to every contrarian's .. and their TROLLS... responses.. Putting a delving point of view for public viewing means you have to expect such responses... and you MUST have thick... THICK skin. In other words.. if you are going to "dish it", be prepared to "take it".

From the "this why" department: "Liberal 9th Circuit surprises with pro-2nd Amendment decision blocking California ammo ban" -- Mainscream media is now going after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for not being liberal enough.. This is an example of what could happen if there is ever a liberal-biased majority on the US Supreme Court and mainscream media tries to influence a decision that undermines a Constitutional Amendment... a liberal majority could also become activist at overruling the 1st Amendment and persecute media for disagreeing with its decisions.

I think Trump should offer a "whistle-blower reward" to any of the Mueller team that will testify under oath to the Congressional Committee about directives and practices Mueller has approved of and/or initiated that violates any of Trump's civil rights.

---
I do believe "Wallet Hub" erred.. maybe confused their data input.. in it's call about Columbus, GA being a "Best Run City".. I think Wallet Hub meant to say Columbus was one of the Best Cities at "RUNning off businesses"...All one has to look at is the number of big retailers and manufactures who have left in the past 4 years alone.

From former SF Mayor Willie Brown's column - Online headline: "LOCAL // WILLIE'S WORLD
It should have been President Hillary Clinton. Here’s why it’s not" by Willie Brown -- Pure BS... In retrospect, if there was any collusion to influence the election, Hellary colluded to lose. Even the Russians COULDN'T have influenced the DIMocrats that abandoned her.
My thought is that the DIMocrats and Hellary just don't want to accept/admit "What Happened".

Online headline/story: "Teen accused of vandalizing memorial of slain Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient * Authorities in New York arrested a 14-year-old boy on Friday for allegedly vandalizing the memorial of a slain Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient. * Suffolk County Police received a call on Thursday that the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Park in Lake Ronkonkoma had been “vandalized.” * New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo took to Twitter earlier to say he was “appalled and disgusted” and promise that the state would pay for the replacement of the defaced plaque." --Wait a damn minute! Governor Cuomo..it is not the responsibility of the taxpayers of New York to pay for the 14 year old's mistakes, and you, Governor, are an egotistical opportunist to feel offering taxpayer's money to make you "look good" is the right thing to do.. If you ant to take any credit/glory. pay for it out of your own pocket!

---
From the "nailed it" department - Online headline: "President Trump says ‘Obama was a patsy for Russia’" -- Yeah.. Even Obama was heard to tell a Putin messenger.. he could be more flexible after the election... 'flexible' meaning that he knew how to bend over like a pretzel."

---
Old-timers' Test: Online headline: "Tiger Woods nearly annihilates spectators at British Open" -- OK. friends.. we all have seen the scenario Tiger faced from overly curious spectators, but what president did Tiger "almost" join in infamy? How many spectators did President Gerald Ford hit?

Columbus' Mayor Tom_LYING-son was quick to jump into a picture with Dr Jonathan Liss when he was announcing some success with his Alzheimer's project. Hmmm... you would think he last thing Mayor Tom_LYING-son would want would be for more people to remember her years as Columbus' mayor..

M/C L-E headline: "Growing backlog at crime lab hinders justice, attorneys say" -- Seriously? Crime is such an issue these days..and we're foolish to think that the backlog will clear itself if fewer crimes are committed... so why isn't the state recognizing the urgency to get more evidence processed quicker so justice can be meted out more promptly?

After 4 nights with only satellite WiFi as an option at a vacation site , I will gladly give up my phone before I subscribe to a satellite at home..Fortunately, we had plenty of other wonderful things to do.

While I decided about three years ago to NEVER buy another HP product (absolutely SORRY support services), I found out Saturday night that this computer DC/DVD drive not have a "driver" to actually play DVDs. We bought a couple of movies to watch that we couldn't get on internet because of the satellite system, and after putting in one, we found that the computer would not... COULD not "play" it. Buying a new NON-HP as soon as we get back..

Laugh of the week: Carol loves to chew bubble gum when she's driving, so I bought her a package of bubble gum..As I was opening it, I noticed the disclosure label, "Nutrition Facts". "Nutrition Facts"? Good grief...there are none!

While we were touring my ancestral properties and historical sites from pre-revolutionary America, there seemed to be an intense effort to discuss slavery during that period... Of course black slaves suffered "enslavement" while white ones were just
"indentured servants". Liberals have a convenient label for everything. Forced servitude is forced servitude.

Online headline/story: "US launches campaign to erode support for Iran's leaders * The current and former officials said the campaign paints Iranian leaders in a harsh light, at times using information that is exaggerated or contradicts other official pronouncements, including comments by previous administrations. * A senior Iranian official dismissed the campaign, saying the United States had sought in vain to undermine the government since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He spoke on condition of anonymity. * "Their efforts will fail again," the official said." -- First.. why isn't the "official" identified.. goodness knows the Iranians KNOW who is speaking for them.. secondly, said official just revealed that US influence/meddling does not work... so,, why does the mainscream media/DIMocrat coalition feel that Russian influence/meddling worked in our election? My thought is that the DIMocrats and Hellary just don't want to accept/admit "What Happened".

---
Online headline: "NY Giants co-owner on anthem protests: Trump 'has no understanding of why they take a knee' -- "Trump has no understanding"? Me thinks that the NFL owners don't understand any issue but "green", and and how athletes of ANY color can help them accrue more wealth rather than whether the players have safe and healthy experiences working for them. Continue the BOYCOTT!

---
From the "shame on mainscream media hypocrisy" department - Online headline/story: "Second lady Karen Pence is getting dragged for wearing an 'inappropriate' dress * Second-lady Karen Pence is getting dragged for wearing a “mall-bought” dress that was “too short and tight” while meeting the King and Queen of Jordan this week." -- Hmmm... oh.. it's OK for libs to "body-shame" Republicans.... Well, why don't they turn their "poison pens" at Whoopi Goldberg.. they could have a field day "body, mind and spirit SHAMING".

---
Online headline: "Caitlyn Jenner hits the ESPYs with rumored live-in girlfriend, 21-year-old Sophia Hutchins" -- Hmmm... wait a minute.. If Caitlyn hasn't had gender reassignment surgery, "she" actually still is Bruce .. just a pervert in drag hitting on someone's 21 year old daughter.

---
M/C L-E "headlie"/story: "Wrongfully jailed at 14, Columbus man goes free * A**** J**** J**** was 14 years old when he was jailed for burglary and 15 when he was convicted and sent off to state prison. * The Georgia Court of Appeals overturned his conviction, ruling his confession to a 2009 break-in was not freely given, so it should not have been admitted as evidence in his 2010 trial. * The ruling meant he could have a new trial, but public defender Victoria Novak and prosecutor Wesley Lambertus struck a deal: If Jones pleaded guilty to burglary and using a gun to commit a crime, he would be sentenced to serve nine years, and with credit for the time he already spent in jail or prison, he would be released." -- He was NOT "wrongly jailed".. He committed the crime (wow.. a 14 year-old committing crimes while armed with a gun) . Ironically, the courts deemed his confession shouldn't have been used to put him in jail.. yet the courts now are allowing his post-release confession to allow him to get out jail.

Sunday morning, as we dined our last meal at Meander Inn in Locustdale, VA..
we basically conversed about all the great meals we had there during our 4 day stay.. After all the wonderful sites and ventures we had , the wonderful food we experienced at the Inn took over our conversation..if you're in the area, whether you stay there or just in the area, make an evening reservation (only one 7:00 seating so book early).

While walking around on our ancestral homage tour in Virginia, we did a little antiquing...mainly looking for a small "nichy" table. And we found one.. but not
from a Virginia antique store..we found a Targets in Culpeper, VA ...and there we found a wonderful cane top table...in the clearance section.. for $49.88!

From Columbus Council Agenda:

FY19 PUBLIC DEFENDER CONTRACT: Approval is requested to enter into an agreement for Indigent Defense Services between Circuit Public Defender Office of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit and Muscogee County in the amount of $2,121,625 from July 2018 to June 2019 and authorize payment to Georgia Public Defender Standards Council (GPDSC) for $1,522,421 and for $76,121, 5 percent administrative fee (GPDSC payment is included in the total amount of $2,121,594); authorize the mayor and/or city manager to have signature authority." -- "authorize the mayor and/or city manager to have signature authority"? Hmmm..to quote "the Church Lady"..."Isn't that special?".. I see nothing but potential corruptness at giving single signer authority to any one person on a $2,000,000.00+ contract.. didn't Council get burned pretty good on a Park &Rec Nike/ Tony Adams contract?

---
From the "What did I tell you...bendover, Columbus, we're getting the shaft" department - From the Columbus Council Agenda:

"RIVER ROAD ROUNDABOUT – It is requested that council authorize the execution of a construction contract with Southeastern Site Development Inc. (Newnan, Ga.) in the amount of $4,534,999.60 for the River Road Roundabout. The project includes construction of the proposed roundabout at the River Road/SR 219, Bradley Park Drive, and Cascade Drive Intersection. Work includes new asphalt paving, curb and gutter, sidewalks, concrete islands, storm water infrastructure, signage and landscaping." -- Wow! In 2012, the state was picking up the total cost of $1.5 MILLION..The plan was shown to be faulty...in 2016, a new plan was shown with a $2.7 MILLION price tag with the picking up the same $1.5 MILLION but the City having to cough up $1.2 MILLION , and there's still faults in it. And now this $4.5+ MILLION..and I do not see ANY state contribution. No wonder none of the Councilors or Councilor-turned-Mayoral-Candidate wanted to talk about this during the campaign season, and our local GA DOT rep conveniently retired. They knew what it was going cost as bids don't come in overnight, and I'm sure multiple bids had to be discussed. To think..the argument most offered to justify a roundabout is to save money on electricity to run traffic lights..Hey, I do believe the cost to run traffic lights won't total $4.5 MILLION until after our great-grandkids (or great-greats) are dead and buried. Oh, and to boot, River Road still won't be 4-laned, and the roundabout isn't designed to handle future 4-lane traffic!

M/C L-E pictorial story: "Spotted @ Muscogee County Jail 7-16-2018: Felony arrests" --
67 mug shots and recaps.. well, 46 of the 67 were also charged with violation of parole or probation.. this means 46 more crimes would gave been prevented if they served their whole sentences. This is what's wrong with the sentencing system...oh, and most..if not all...of the other 21 arrested had previous charges...they just happened not to be under the probation/parole terms.

Online headline: "Hillary Clinton to help with travel arrangements for immigrants reuniting with children" -- Good grief...how can a person who's gotten this rich from other people's donations not offer to donate some of it instead of asking for MORE of other people's money!

---
Online headline: "WHITE HOUSE PROTESTS SET TO CONTINUE FOR 7TH DAY AFTER ORGANIZERS RAISE $50K" -- Good grief.. how can mainscream media consider it news when protesters HAVE to be paid to protest (of course this fact is ACTUALLY the REAL news), or that the protest agenda is not of "the people", but only the opinion of the person/group PAYING to keep protesters on site?

---
Online headline: "Lock 'em up, Nadler says of Trump officials who keep immigrant kids from parents" -- Hmmm.. the truth is that DIMocrats in Congress (including Nadler) under Obama who sat like bumps on a log while Obama created the policy that ALLOWS this should be the ones going to jail.

From the "Chitwood (spelled this very carefully) doesn't get it" department - In a story about "early voting" in the primary runoffs, Chitwood wrote this: "The three-week Monday-Friday tally since July 2 – with Independence Day off – came to 3,011, or 215 a day. The breakdown was 1,728 Republican, 1,168 Democrat, and 115 nonpartisan. * Most of those votes came from heavily Republican precincts on the north side of town, while fewer voters to the south chose to vote early." -- "while fewer voters to the south chose to vote early"? Good grief.. of course fewer voters from the "south" chose to vote early.. there are FEW Republican voters in the "south"...
