From the "MSM-10, we'll damn him either way" department - HuffPOOPOO headline: "Trump's offer to meet with Iran discounted by Tehran and president's own advisers" -- You know, President Trump could appoint Bernie as Secretary of Education; Hellary as Director of the FBI; and Pelosi as Director of ICE, and MSM-10 would curse him. (Hmmm... funny thing is that in this scenario, MSM-10 would be right for the first time)

From the "Ron White.. but sometimes you just can't fix..." department - Online headline/story: "LeBron James says President Donald Trump is using sports 'to divide us' * “We are in a position in America where this race thing has taken over,” James said. “One, because I believe our president is trying to divide us. He’s kind of used sport to divide us, and that’s something I can’t relate to.”" -- First.. the sports thing was an outgrowth of the racial divide escalated by Obama, and MSM-10. Secondly. another Ron White quote sums up LeBron James: "I had the right to remain silent... but I didn't have the ability."
You know, LeBron James will be remembered as the "Hank Aaron of Basketball".. has a lot more INDIVIDUAL awards that team championships.. James has been around 15 seasons and has only 3 NBA Championships.. and those were when owners stacked his team with other super-players. Bill Russel(*), my all-time basketball idol, played 13 seasons with one team.. the Celtics, and his teams won 11 NBA Championships...

Oh.. and Hank Aaron played 21 seasons with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves, and played in the World Series only twice ('57 & '58), and helped no team to get to a World Series in his last 16 seasons with the Braves, or final 2 at the Brewers.

(*) Bill Russell's Celtics TEAM won 11 NBA Championships.. including Russell's 1st and last season.. and once won 8 in a row..

From the "poll truth and nothing but the poll truth" department - Online story: "U.S. Democrats' support for abortion rights grew in the last two years, but for most, it will be a low priority in the November mid-term election compared with issues such as healthcare and the economy, a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll shows. * The poll found that 68 percent of Democrats said in July that abortion should be legal, up from 60 percent in a similar poll conducted in June 2016." -- Hmmm.. but I notice that none of the 68% were asked whether they thanked their mothers for not aborting them.

---
From the "Hypocrisy, thy name is CBS" department - Online story: "In a surprise move, CBS’ board of directors is keeping Leslie Moonves in place as chairman-CEO even as it launches a probe of sexual assault allegations leveled against him by six women in a New Yorker expose." -- Hmmm.. obviously no "goose/gander" equality at CBS.. You know, CBS is a leader at "trial by media" foe Trump, yet turned a blind-eye on itself.. like I said yesterday, a CBS' Charlie "Rose" by any other name is still a Moonves..

---
My bride and I went to see Mission Impossible: Fallout yesterday...full of action but unlike previous MI's this had a more "Improbable" than Impossible ending.. a 15-Minute timer must have been controlled by a hometeam betting NFL timer controlling the 2-minute clock and making sure the hero got the last shot off before the buzzer. It is a thumbs up though.

I have it on good authority hat Harris County is not participating in "The Valley Partnership".. Guess Harris County doesn't want to be dragged down trying to bail-out Columbus' economy under current "leadership"..

From the "it's said that politics creates strange bed partners... well now politics can lead to divorce" department - Online story: "A journalism professor and dean at the University of Georgia apologized Friday after he sparked backlash with a tweet congratulating Brian Kemp for winning the Republican nomination for governor. * Charles Davis, dean of the Athens school’s College of Journalism and Mass Communication, reportedly wrote in a now-deleted tweet that Mr. Kemp is a longtime friend and a “nice guy.” * “I went to high school with GOP guv candidate @BrianKempGA,” he wrote after Mr. Kemp’s primary win Tuesday, according to a screenshot obtained by Campus Reform. “We played YMCA ball from childhood. Politics be damned. He is a nice guy, always was. Kind to a fault. He’s a friend, always has been, and will be when we’re old(er) and grey(er). That’s how all this should work, people.” -- What's really sad is our students are being told to stand up for their beliefs by someone who bailed out on a lifetime friendship.

Online headline/story: "Ginsburg suggests she has at least five more years on the Supreme Court * "I'm now 85," Ginsburg said on Sunday. "My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years."" -- Hmmm.. looks like for the next 5 years, she will be simply taking up space on the Court..and then she will be replaced by Trump anyway..

Online headline/story: "Anti-Trump London Mayor Sadiq Khan under fire for 'pathetic' response to crime surge * Boris Johnson, the former mayor who recently resigned as U.K. foreign secretary, tore into Khan in a recent Op-Ed for The Daily Telegraph for glamming it up at movie premieres while crime spirals out of control.

“Sadiq Khan may be a twinkle-toed mover on the movie premiere red carpet, but his pirouettes on the subject of knife crime are a positive wonder. He blames funding (when he was left with a large war chest by me); he blames the Tory Government; he blames society. He blames everyone but himself, when it is his paramount duty to keep Londoners safe,” Johnson wrote. “It is a pathetic performance.” -- Good grief.. in a nutshell. London's Mayor is simply comfortable in a street atmosphere Muslims in Syria, Iran, Yemen and Libya experience.

Did I hear right.. that the new Roundabout is being paid for out of unused T-SPLOST tax revenues? Well that certainly changes everything.. Since we don't get but 85-cents of every dollar Columbus citizens pay in, then the $4.5+ MILLION is actually closer to $5.1 MILLION in "real dollars", and we know it will not come in on or below "budget".

It's also maddening that Columbus's internal road system has deteriorated to current conditions while our T-SPLOST tax dollars have sat silently waiting for the Roundabout to get on the books.

M/C L-E headline: "Man, 37, dies after shooting on Hunter Ridge Circle" -- Hmmm... 23, I think.. (24 in my book) and we have one more day in July! What a legacy for Mayor' Tom-LYING-son's last year..

---
Online headline/story: "Corruption probe at Atlanta City Hall shifts from bribes to spending * This spring, investigators peeked into Reed’s wallet with a request that the city turn over the former mayor’s city-issued credit card statements. Then, this month, they requested information about payouts made to Reed’s closest advisers for accrued leave." -- Bet Reed is sure glad he's not a Republican, or MSM-10 would have filleted him long ago..

---
From the "as feared" department - Online story: "Republicans still have a better-than-even chance of holding on to the Governor's Mansion in Georgia. * But Secretary of State Brian Kemp's runoff win last week over Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in the Republican gubernatorial primary race makes the November general election more difficult for the GOP. * That's the conclusion of the Washington, D-C.-based Cook Political Report, which has revised the contest for Georgia governor from "Likely Republican" to "Lean Republican." -- This was "the fear" I felt during the runoff period, but unlike MSM-10, I now realize that Trump's strength is getting America 1st voters out in strength...

Is it just me overlooking them, or does everyone see that the M/C L-E has about cutoff reader "input". Can't remember the last insertion of "Two Cents Worth" nor "Letters to the Editor".

---
From the "it's a shame... and a condemnation of liberals" department - M/C L-E story: "American culture has become “less hospitable to people of faith,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday in vowing that the Justice Department would protect people’s religious freedom and convictions." -- It's a shame and an unfortunate "sign of the times" that the US Attorney General has to focus on individual religious rights that are already Constitutionally protected. It's curse of the DIMocrat/Socialist political agenda.

---
From the "another sign of the times" department - M/C L-E headline: "Georgia Power could be your customer" -- You know.. at one time this headline would have read, "Georgia Power is our good neighbor"..What happened?

---
M/C L-E headline: "Big Mac’s 50th comes as McDonald’s is evolving" -- You know.. this 50TH "celebration" conflicts with my remembrance of 1964-65. When I was playing basketball at Columbus High, on game days, I had a routine of sitting in the parking are of the original McDonald's on Macon Road and consuming 2 "Big Macs" and a Large Coke. The Big Macs were 35-cents and the large Coke was 30-cents... so my pre-game meal cost me $1.00 pus 3-cents tax... In my book, this is the 54th Anniversary year of "the Big Mac".. and now I cannot remember the last one I ordered.. nor if I will ever order another one...

---
From the "how cryptic can this be" department - M/C L-E headline: "Not everyone happy about NFL changing kickoffs" -- I think the NFL should be more concerned about the number of people who have "kicked the NFL out" of of their living rooms, dens, and man-caves..

Ah.. Mayor Tom-LYING-son must be so proud.. the L-E "Foreclose Section" has leveled off at 11 pages.
