From the "only the California biased US 9th District Court would uphold this law" department - Online headline/story: "Prosecutors have at least 12 recordings by Trump lawyer Cohen * In New York state it is legal to record a conversation if one party consents." -- You know, I can understand a law that allows secret recordings when a judge has authorized such activity based on presentation of other evidence that shows a target of a criminal investigation has connections to a crime, but.... BUT, under what part of the Constitution supports one person secretly recording a voluntary conversation when one member of the conversation has no knowledge? This is not an "open mic" situation where a person knowingly wearing/using a microphone says something that gets unintentionally recorded ("This is a Big F-ing Deal"... "I'll be more flexible after the election"), and a lawyer on his own taping his client unknowingly is an unpardonable criminal... hey, ask Richard Nixon.. oooops, he's dead now.
---
From the "worst LIE ever made by a lawyer for his client" department - Online story: ""My client Stormy Daniels and her husband Glen have decided to end their marriage," Avenatti tweeted. "Stormy's daughter remains her number one priority. She kindly asks for privacy for the sake of her family." -- '"privacy for the sake of her family"? They have to be kidding...
---
On a local note: "Hey, John Pezold.. how's your troll-buddy Jason Spencer doing today"
---
From the "wake up call for vegans and millennials" department - Online story: "A study has linked vitamin D deficiency with an increased risk for cancer and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis MS, and lupus. Researchers found, through mapping vitamin D receptors binding throughout the human genome, that vitamin D deficiency is an environmental factor in increasing the risk of developing these disorders." -- So, milk is NOT just for babies anymore... again..

What happened to Whoopi Goldberg? I remember enjoying her movies in the past.. "The Color Purple", "Ghost" and "Eddie" were particular favorites of mine.. now I wouldn't watch any pf her movies, much less, actually pay to see them..Oh.. it wasn't me that changed.

If you're wondering about that killer in Toronto.. his name was 29-year-old Faisal Hussain. 2 dead... 13 injured... that was a lot of talk about his mental health issues.. religion was carefully tip-toed around.

Did I read right? That Trump's overall ratings JUMPED a point at the time of the Helsinki meeting with Putin.... and that 88% of Republicans support him strongly... and that only 79% of Hellary voters disagreed with Trump? Remember the Hellary figures.. 21% have further abandoned her... and probably the next DIMocrat candidate.

M/C L-E story: "The city is spending $125,261 to tear down a dozen homes that have been declared a nuisance or that are in such disrepair the property affects the health and welfare of the surrounding community. John C. Hudgison, director of Building Inspections & Code Enforcement Department, said the contractor for the city has been preparing to start work on the properties since Columbus Council approved demolition in June. * The homes are scattered throughout the city, from the north end to the south end of the county. The dozen include: 3020 Fourth Ave.; 816 34th Ave.; 402 Timberlane Drive; 505 23rd St.; 908 Benning Drive; 329 25th St.; 755 Portland Ave.; 3045 Reese Road; 601 23rd St.; 607 23rd St.; 218 28th St. and 138 Torch Hill Road. * The cost to raze each lot ranges from a low of $6,156 to a high of $17,649." -- I feel some of theses dilapidated properties have stories relating to hard times or estate issues of a deceased owner, but.. But there are some REAL questionable about the City's taxpayers having to front the costs of demolishing. My first question is why aren't the owners' names published with the addresses...but there are 7 properties (6 owners) as of January 1, 2018 that need some "splainin'":
1 - 816 34th Ave, owned by E. M. Blair but tax correspondence is sent to 8627 Battery Ct which has another owner with a H5 Exemption
2 - 505 23rd St, owned by Denney Construction Company in Lawrenceville, GA.. on top of this home, Denney Construction owns another in Columbus as well.
3 - 755 Portland Avenue, owned by K. McCallister.. but tax correspondence is sent to Columbus Habitat.
4 - 601 & 607 23rd St, owned by Percy Tindall.. who owns 18 other properties, has all tax correspondence sent to a PO Box, and has no Columbus property where he has any homestead exemption.
5 - 218 28th St, owned by Jeffrey Mobley who lives in Lumpkin, GA
6 - 138 Torch Hill Rd, owned by Lorraine Walker, who's tax correspondence is sent to anoter person in Williamsburg, VA
I think that before ANY of these homes are demolished at taxpayer expense, we taxpayers need to know what steps are being taken to sue these owners... especially the properties owned by a construction company, Habitat, the out-of-town-owners, and especially the 20-parcel landowner.
To boot, the City needs to fix the tax database.. the tax payment records of all these and every other property in Columbus are not available on the database today.

The Paul Manafort trial is going to be another embarrassment for Mueller...not only is it probable that some top DIMocrat strategists and officials activities will be revealed, but now we find that 5 of Mueller's witnesses have been granted "immunity".. what juror, well, what conscientious juror can give credibility to a witness that is probably more guilty than the defendant?

You know what free college tuition would create...tons of new remedial teachers to do what didn't happen when the students were in high school that would have prepared them to take career courses at college. To boot, the teachers for remedial courses probably aren't qualified to get jobs as teachers of NON-remedial courses.

Today if the runoff election date..While state races have restrictions based of party declaration, but there are two local races ..in one. every local registered voter can have a say, and in the other, those of MCSD 2 get to pick a candidate.. Two of the candidates get paid with taxpayer funds. I advocate voting for their opponents so no financial pressure can be exerted on their votes. In Council Post 10 at Large, vote FOR John House.. in MCSB District, vote FOR Mike Edmondson

From the "another local JURY FAIL" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Jury reaches verdict in homicide of popular Columbus High grad * A Columbus jury found James Oliver not guilty of all charges Monday in the Dec. 17, 2016, fatal shooting of Bobby Jerome Seawright Jr. * Oliver faced charges of malice or deliberate murder, of felony murder for allegedly killing Seawright while committing the felony of aggravated assault, of aggravated assault and of three counts of using a firearm to commit a felony." -- Not only will the family of Bobby Jerome Seawright, JR never receive closure of this heinous act, the rest of Columbus will never sleep safely again with the "non guilty" defendant back out on the streets. You know, in recent weeks I've reported on two stories of felony arrests printed in the M/C L-E.. in one, there were 65 arrested, and 32 had charges of violating their parole/probation conditions as well, and this past week, I reported on another M/C L-E story on 67 felon arrests, and 46... that's right.. 46 of 67 had parole/probation charges added to their new crimes.. I don't care how many police officers we have, Columbus crime stats will not decrease (not legitimately) if our juries don't convict criminals on the most severe charges, and our court system doesn't hold convicted felons.. especially those convicted of violent crimes.. to serving the full sentences they are given.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "New York Daily News Layoffs Ax Half The Newsroom Staff" -- unfortunately, I'll bet the wrong half was dismissed..

HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "McDonald’s Franchise Appears To Zing Chick-fil-A By Vowing To ‘Welcome Everyone’ * A Connecticut-based McDonald’s franchise is vowing to “welcome everyone” with new roadside signage that some are interpreting as a less-than-subtle dig at a Chick-fil-A that moved in next door." -- Actually, that McDonald's says that the new sign is not a "dig" at Chick-fil-A, but just a happy greeting.. and as anyone in the LGBTQ community know, Chick-fil-A cheerfully serves "everyone".. now, that sign at the McDonald's may attract customers of Chick=foil-A on Sunday's as Chick-fil-A is CLOSED so all it's team members.. even straight ones. can spend time with their church and family if they so choose.

M/C L-E headline/story: "Trump wants some intel security clearances revoked * President Donald Trump plans to revoke the security clearances of a handful of former officials who have been critical of his rhetoric and actions toward Russia, the White House announced Monday, in a move that immediately prompted claims of political retaliation." -- "political retaliation"? Good grief.. former Obama appointees have certainly abused their clearances to personally profit in book/speaking deals and TV appearances. Not only should their clearance be revoked immediately upon being fired/replaced or retirement, but all such personnel should be banned from writing books or speaking out about their actions/opinions for a minimum of 8 years..

From the "who swallowed the pill?" department - L-E story: "On Sunday, Papa John’s announced a stockholder rights plan – commonly known as a “poison pill.” The maneuver would block any investor from acquiring more than 15 percent of Papa John’s stock without board approval. The company’s founder, John Schnatter, remains on the board and already owns a 29 percent stake. The new plan would constrain Schnatter’s stake to less than 50 percent." -- Good grief.. the Papa John's board may as well have swallowed that pill themselves.. the 71% shareholder base will now suffer as the company will not be attractive to other outside investors looking for a potential takeover which would increase the value to ALL shareholders.

Looks like the M/C L-E's "Foreclosure Section" is hanging strong at 11 pages again..nice legacy, Mayor.... NOT!
