El Paso County TX...with a population of 840,000 plus had 39 (though 23 is also reported) killings in 2017. El Paso's sister city, Juarez, Mexico. With a population of over 1,300,000 had about 800...don't tell me a wall and extra precautions don't make sense. Now.. The city of Columbus, GA has 1/4th that population but more murders.. we Columbusites have been hand fed pablum way too long!

From the "Here we go again" department - Remember when Nancy PeLOUSY said ObamaCRAP had to be passed so we could read what was in it? Well, sounds like that's what's going on with the Green Deal, too.

---
Will someone ask Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez what she plans to use to keep citizens/families warm in the states hit by the Northern Vortex if she stops the production of fossil fuels?

---
From the "will wonders never cease?" department - Online headline/story: "American Jews Thank Trump in Full Page New York Times Ad * Praise for Trump efforts to combat Anti-Semitism, criticism for Dem support for anti-Israel causes * "Thank you, President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, for the appointment of Mr. Elan Carr as Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism," states the ad, which was purchased by the Republican Jewish Coalition." -- Talk about "in Schumer's face"! Wonder, since it's the NYTimes, whether Schumer will call out the ad as "Fake Views" since he's not thanked... (and it's not just because he's a Democrat)?

---
Why are Democrats so upset at Representative Ilhan Omar comments about Israel, yet have deaf ears when Senator Schumer does the same?

---
Online "headLIE": "Border Patrol arrests 330 migrants in New Mexico" -- Good grief...they aren't 'migrants'...they are illegal aliens!!!!

---
From the "it's not just PeLOUSY" department - Online headline/story: " 'Preliminary agreement' reached to avert shutdown * Democratic and Republican lawmakers emerged from a series of meetings Monday night and announced they had reached a deal to fund the government for the rest of the fiscal year and to avert another government shutdown, according to CNN. * ICE is currently holding 48,747 immigrants * The White House wants to increase the number of beds for detention up to 52,000 from the current level funded by Congress, which is for 40,520 beds. Democrats want to reduce that number down to 35,520 beds for the remainder of 2019, and they want to cap the number of beds that can be used for undocumented immigrants arrested in the interior of the country — not on the border — at 16,500." -- Good grief.. Trump is going to have to teach Republicans how to negotiate as well.. I understand that in the past, Republicans thought "negotiating" was a matter of "trying" right up to the last second, then totally "capitulating",, but even if they got the full $25 Billion for 'the Wall", losing 30,000 plus beds is not going to get Trumps' signature on the bill. What that means is that all the time, effort, and expenses of arresting/holding illegals within our borders would be wasted .. plus, the "welfare meter" would crank up full speed again..

---
You know, PeLOUSY and the Dems feel more money should be spent on alternative solutions other than building a wall....yet are trying to limit the number of illegal aliens that can be detained at any one time..In other words, if an illegal is stopped but the maximum number of detainees has been met, the illegal must be released IN AMERICA regardless of what is known about the illegal.

---
President Trump should bolster his shutdown position by issuing an Executive Order to keep the government payroll office open to pay salaries of federal employees retained to work, and just limit the 'no pay' state for non-essential furloughed employees.

---
You know. MSM-13 and Democrats just don't get it...they feel it's a wall being 'negotiated'...they are wrong...it's America's current and future security being negotiated, and Trump will not settle for less security...the Dems shouldn't either.

---
Question: When was the last time you heard a Democrat even mentioned ObamaCARE? I'm still waiting to hear how many signed up during the enrollment period just ended in December.

---
Any update about the young man also shot during the incident causing the death of John Wells, Jr here in Columbus, GA?

---
Trump....what can I say but we are so blessed he stepped up to serve our country! We have nearly 6 more years to depend on his love for America, but we need to make sure he leaves us with leaders ready to continue his path.

---
From the "this is what to expect more of" department - Online story: "Lawyers for eight immigrant families separated under Trump administration policy filed claims Monday against the U.S. government demanding $6 million each in damages for what they describe as lasting trauma." -- Good grief! Them policies aren't even Trump's.. they were begun by Obama, and lower level judges thwarted Trump's effort to change them.. now, imagine the spike in lawsuits if 30-plus thousands more are mandatorily released by the "deal" above.

---
From the "Bias? What bias?" department - Online headline/story: "Trump, O'Rourke hold rival Texas border rallies * Standing in a packed stadium under a giant American flag and banners saying "FINISH THE WALL," Trump insisted that large portions of the project are already under construction and vowed to fulfill his 2016 campaign promise regardless of what happens in Congress. * O'Rourke, meanwhile, held a countermarch with dozens of local civic, human rights and Hispanic groups in his hometown, followed by a protest rally attended by thousands on a baseball field within shouting distance from the arena where Trump spoke." -- First, "dozens of local civic, human rights and Hispanic groups, followed by a protest rally attended by thousands"? A few Democrats .. and at best, ONE thousand (counting MSM-13 reporters) but videos appeared to only catch a few hundred people milling around the ballpark, while a full 10,000 packed the Trump rally INSIDE and another 25,000 watched large screen TV's outside the El Paso arena..

I am 100% behind "due process"...of course MSM-13 and Democrat Senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee didn't agree that Judge Kavanaugh was entitled to it. The Virginia Triple Play has so many facets being addressed... and avoided...but the strangest facet is among the Democrat's black supporters..I haven't figured all of it out, but it appears the main "glue" holding the Democrats together is a common cause of keeping a Republican from inheriting the governorship by attrition and line of succession. Wow...I wish I knew all the deals that have been made. I imagine "sausage making" looks sanitary in comparison..

From the "is Al Sharlaton lurking" department - Online story: "Nearly two weeks after “Empire” star Jussie Smollett claimed he was the victim of a racist, homophobic attack, cops have yet to identify any suspects — and some people in his tony Chicago neighborhood are growing skeptical. * “I don’t believe it happened the way he said it did,” said Agin Muhammad, who lives in the same swank high-rise near the Navy Pier as Smollett. * “I’ve been in this neighborhood five years. I don’t believe it, not around here … Half the people are gay and the other half are black.” -- Hmmm.. Looks more and more like a repeat of the Tawana Brawley publicity-racism scam orchestrated by Sharlaton.. like I said, I'll apologize if video evidence comes forth.

Without any preceding correspondence showing where IRS disagreed, I received this threat from IRS Saturday:

Now, I'm paying it because it will cost more to just inquire and compare notes, but what I want most are copies of the threats that IRS sent Stacey Abrams and Al Sharpton!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Online story: "The Cleveland Browns announced on Monday afternoon that they have signed running back Kareem Hunt. * Hunt, a 2017 Pro Bowler as a rookie, was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in November after video surfaced of an incident in which he is seen shoving and kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel earlier in 2018." -- Hmmm... I guess kicking a woman on the ground this is the quickest way to for a player to get "Free Agent Status"...

---
Elizabeth Warren..what a hypocrite...she questioned whether Trump would even be 'free' in the 2020 election period, but she perjured herself on an application for acceptance to the Texas Bar. This was a very serious breach of her sworn oath as an officer of the court and should have led to her disbarment.

---
From the "isn't this basically kowtowing to extortion?" department - Online headline: "Sacramento plans to pay gang members $1.5M to keep the peace" -- Good grief.. why not just fire the current Police staff and replace them with gang members?

---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department - Online headline/story: "Antifa activist facing assault charges was tied to Democratic policymakers * What a difference a year made for Joseph Alcoff. * On Monday, the 37-year-old has a court date in connection with charges he’s facing in Philadelphia that include aggravated assault and ethnic intimidation for allegedly being part of an Antifa mob in November that attacked two Marines, Alejandro Godinez and Luis Torres, both Hispanic. Alcoff and two others charged in the attack have pleaded not guilty. * His endorsement apparently mattered when several congressional Democrats in February 2018 issued press releases with his quote backing their bill on regulating payday lenders. * As the payday campaign manager for the liberal group Americans for Financial Reform, Alcoff participated in congressional Democratic press conferences, was a guest on a House Democratic podcast and met with senior officials at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from 2016 through 2018." -- I'm taking bets now that this Antifa @-hole gets exonerated in a Philadelphia court room..

---
Amazing..VA Governor Northam calls his med school antics "racial insensitivity" ...typical Democrat...using a Bill Clinton-type 'definition' for something any Republican would have be called out for being a "racist" .

---
Online headline: "Indonesia police used live snake to torture Papuan man suspected of phone theft" -- Hmmm...sorta disarms the liberals "waterboarding" issue...

---
PHIL Won!

M/C L-E headline: "City hosts first public meeting to get citizens’ input on Government Center’s future" -- There's only one thing for sure.. building on a new site away from the downtown area will destroy any retail comeback and lunchtime traffic.
I do have one question: What will happen to the benches on the Plaza Council asked private citizens to donate? I'd prefer the one we donated to either be relocated to another public site.. that, or returned to us..

---
From the "she's a Muslim Democrat politician" department - M/C L-E headline/story: "Lawmaker apologizes for tweets seen as anti-Semitic * Freshman Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar “unequivocally” apologized Monday for tweets suggesting that members of Congress support Israel because they are being paid to do so, which drew bipartisan criticism and a rebuke from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi." -- Now,, what do KNOW for sure.. She's a Democrat politician, and she's backtracking under pressure.. Democrats are liars.. make your own conclusions about her regrets...

---
Glad to see the MCSD "re-balancing" students at schools, but is anyone checking to make sure both schools will meet the minimum requirements so the State will fully fund them?

---
From the "Red Allen, "How about that!" department - M/C L-E story: "U.S. Steel Corp. will restart construction on an idled manufacturing facility in Alabama, and it gave some of the credit to President Donald Trump’s trade policies in an announcement Monday." -- "gave some of the credit to President Trump"? Good grief.. unless US Steel was going to resume this project regardless, then President Trump should get ALL the credit!

You know, the Columbus High girls swimming team fought it out with two other teams in a real close competition for State supremacy and finished 3rd overall.. but let's be realistic.. can we really afford to keep losing money on a Natatorium? If swimming is so important to families, then they should be willing to pay for the costs necessary to keep the AquaCenter healthy and viable. The current membership and other fees are falling way too short.
