I may be the last person (other than my bride and granddaughter... well, possibly one of my daughters and her new husband may not since they are on their honeymoon out of the country) to know this. Good news, Columbus, GA .. the new Library Kiosks do require a PIN .. Am checking on how us holders of older cards get one or seeing if we need to get a newer one.. Will let you know! Update: ---Oh, got a response back on the Library Card situation for the new 24/7 Library Kiosks.. our old cards are good, but you need to know your PIN number.. Oh, it's the last 4 digits of your phone number.. Whew! Makes you wish you hadn't given it out to everyone's cell phones or posted it on FaceBook.

Here's this week's Veterans Parkway Eyesore: You know.. this is an awful impression for citizens and visitors alike.. driving South Veterans to pass through or find the Downton District.. or perhaps mournfully heading to the Amos Cancer Center with a loved one..Port-a-potties galore.. and garbage trucks as far as the eye can see...I guess it wouldn't be too hard to conceive of Columbus having so much "stuff" it has to be hauled off.

Let me know if I'm wrong, but you know, when I see a RED Curbs,, or RED Lines marking off a vehicle access area, I understand them to be designated areas that only Fire Trucks are suppose use. Especially in Downtown area where old warehouse, office and educational buildings are the primary structures that are difficult for fire fighting equipment to access. Maybe some one from the City should remind our businesses.
