From the "Br'er Trump's laffin' from the brier patch.... again..) department - Online story: "President Donald Trump and U.S. congressional leaders said on Monday they reached a deal on a two-year extension of the debt limit and federal spending caps through Sept. 30, 2021. * Under the deal, spending on these "discretionary" programs would rise to $1.37 trillion in the fiscal year starting Oct. 1, up from $1.32 trillion this year, according to a congressional source. * In fiscal 2021, spending would rise at a slower pace, to $1.375 trillion." -- Hmmm... let's see... adding only $50 Billion to the cap through July 2020, and another $25 Billion through July 2021 pretty much neuters the promises the Socialist-Democrats can make to try and buy voters in November of 2020...

Oh.. and or those interested.. on July 19th, the National Debt was over $40 Billion LESS than it was on May 9, 2019

Last night, we watched 2 episodes of "Family Reunion".. well three episodes if you consider we watched our "last episode" as well. You know, if you're going to establish a city as a show's "base", you should include some general scenes that associate the area with the City...and if you want to get viewers to watch more episodes, you might want to use better scripts and actors.

---
Oh, and while looking on Netflix for "Family Reunion", we noticed "Mary Poppins Returns" is already available! DVD sales must have been miserable, too. I did not see it at the theater, but my bride took our granddaughter last December... and our granddaughter was disappointed as she had seen the original version. Looks like LOTS of GRANDDAUGHTERS country-wide we disappointed, also.

Good grief..heard a "journalist " accuse Trump of using racism to spur his voter support...yet the Democrats have used racism to keep it's black voter base in line for a century and a half.. and without apologizing for Forrest, Maddox, Talmadge, Wallace, Byrd, or LBJ et al.

How come the GA DOT is replacing 'traffic lights' with roundabouts on River Road to save money, yet putting them up on merge access ramps on the J.R. Allen Parkway?

---
Maybe the MCSB can mimic Columbus Council and just scrap the bus system for scooters.

---
Did you see the picture of the Little Library at Cooper Creek? Pretty much destroyed and empty of books.... basically, another "good intention" of "Together2016/2017" project..and a waste of money... which the group dissolved itself to avoid the responsibility of maintaining it...look for similar results at the Rotary Park RiverWalk Exercise facility.

---
Hmmm..Biden bin Lying said this about young voters: "This is not a generation of Socialists ". And he's right...but the current generation of Democrat candidates/leadership is Socialist...

---
Did we hear Bernie say protesters of his wages should not have gone to the media to raise issues..that they should have kept it private...Wow! Guess he really believes he is one of the animals that are "more equal than others".

Online headline/story: "Georgia lawmaker who said man told her to 'go back where you came from' walks back part of claim * State Rep. Erica Thomas herself acknowledged in an interview with local media on Saturday that she did not recall exactly what the man, Eric Sparkes, had said to her.' -- You know, what has happened is GA State Rep Thomas, D, tried to gain sympathy for herself at the expense of another.. but she got caught in a big lie.. this is what happens when "the light of truth" shines brightly... liars have a tough time remembering what lie they told to what people.

From the "so wrong that even the left doesn't support the writer" department - Online headline and disclaimer: " Trump Is a Racist. If You Still Support Him, So Are You.
* By Goldie Taylor * Editor’s note: The opinions in this article are the author’s, as published by our content partner, and do not necessarily represent the views of MSN or Microsoft." -- You know..anybody..or organization... that makes such a blanket generalization about anyone else..is the true racist.

You know.. I think I've figured out why the Hotel unions are adamantly against the hotels being used to temporarily house illegal immigrant families. The unions say it's because they represent so many immigrants..guess the unions don't want new illegal immigrants to see what the future awaiting them is cleaning out toilets.

Online headline: "New Baltimore Police deputy commissioner, wife, robbed at gunpoint, officials say" -- Wow! Maybe Columbus, GA Mayor/Council will learn from this and fill all the empty openings in the Columbus PD.

Online headline/story: 'Todd Starnes: Federal judge gives Jesus the heave-ho at graduation * Federal Judge Bruce Hendricks issued an order last week against the Greeneville County School District banning school-sponsored prayers, Sacred music, and the use of religious venues at public school graduations. * "The district shall not include a prayer -- whether referred to as a prayer, blessing, invocation, benediction, inspirational reading or otherwise -- as part of the official program for a graduation ceremony," Judge Hendricks wrote. "The district also shall not include an obviously religious piece of music as part of the official program for a graduation ceremony."" --  This is not isolated! We attended our daughter's graduation from Columbus State University this past May, and there wasn't even a prayer scheduled in the program!

Writer's note: Judge Bruce Hendricks is a "she".. though it doesn't mention whether it's biological or personal choice.. and.. you guessed it.. an Obama appointee!

Online headline: "Equifax to pay up to $700M in breach settlement" -- Hmmm what's missing is that the $700,000,000.00 is for 148,000,000 people exposed to Equifax's failure to protect vital info.. that's less than $5.00 per person... and we don't even know how much the lawyers will take out first.

Online headline/story: "Trump has not built a single mile of new border fence, agency confirms * The Trump administration has not installed a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the U.S.-Mexico border in the 30 months since President Trump assumed office, despite his campaign promise to construct a “big beautiful wall.”
* In a statement last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the federal agency overseeing border barrier construction, confirmed that all the fencing completed since Trump took office is "in place of dilapidated designs" because the existing fence was in need of replacement." -- You know.. figures don't lie.. but liars figure a lot.. what's not said is that replacement fencing is a priority as what was deemed earlier as vital ares needing fencing has proved inadequate. Of course, the people trying to present this negatively are the same that want to remove that old fencing altogether...at least the article does present one of the issues is that the clearance to rebuild existing fences is easier to get than new clearances for new areas.

Online story: "Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared in Atlanta Friday to accept an award from the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. * Clinton was given the organization’s Recognizing the Dream award. * During her acceptance speech, she said the fight for equality and justice is just as important now as it was when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was elected president of the organization in 1957." -- Good grief! Is an award ceremony the only time Democrats remember that Dr. King's "dream" was to eliminate judgment based on the color of one's skin?

Just a note.. info regarding Pence's cancellation of a trip to New Hampshire are trickling out.. more later.

---
Online headline: "Justice Department tells Mueller his House testimony 'must remain within the boundaries' of public report" -- Hmmm...perhaps the DOJ should provide guidelines to Congressperson Nadler... perhaps even adding that questions from Democrats must be pertinent as well.

---
M/C L-E story: "The Chicago White Sox have become the first team in the major leagues to extend protective netting from foul pole to foul pole, starting Monday night against the Miami Marlins." -- Hmmm... looks like every child's dream of going to a baseball game and getting a foul ball souvenir.. or simply having a player hand/flip one to a kid in the sideline bleachers just disappeared.
