While a successful businessman, his company's 2000 Super Bowl ad about "Cat Herding" will be his contribution I remember fondest. You know, Tom Steyer entering the Democrat race on the day that Ross Perot died is somewhat ironic...Steyer realized that Perot's 3rd Party campaign gave Clinton the presidency as it split the conservative voters so Steyer abandoned his earlier plans to run as an independent.. Now, the DNC is now concerned that Steyer's money will go into his own election rather than a $100,000,000.00 going into the DNC accounts.. Looks like there'll be more fireworks in the upcoming months than on July 4th.

Looks like the local law enforcement community in Columbus, GA is switching over to new encrypted radios that block private citizens from "eavesdropping" (a.k.a. STAYING INFORMED) on active crimes. What provisions will the CPD take now to keep the citizens informed and aware of crime waves in our neighborhoods? Now that the Ledger is at best an advertising tabloid, Columbus Council will have to take a proactive position to get a more accessible information site up and running.

After reading about the options for replacing/repairing the current Government Center, the only common factor of costs is that the Mayor wants some sort of SPLOST tax to pay for it. He says it could start as soon as the MCSD SPLOST ends.. Does the Mayor really feel that Dr Lewis... or his successor.. will let 3 years go by without getting an additional School SPLOST in place? Raising the current sales taxes by 12.5% (from .08 to .09) will offset all gains the middle class tax cuts have give to mainstream Americans.
