Update: UPDATE! The City has GIVEN Pezold that property.. Are the previously elected Councilors who were serving when Pezold teamed with ex-Mayor Tom-LYING-son to get our TAX FREEZE REMOVED giving Pezold a reward for his failed efforts?

 

This is a question for Council and Mayor..with all the development concessions given the Pezold project, at what point will Columbus get enough tax revenues in to offset GIVING the Pezolds $1.3 Million in taxpayer owned property?

Remember John Pezold teaming with Tom-LYING-son in their attempt to scuttle our tax freeze. Well looks like some of those Councilors decided to reward him even in his failure. Remember when Pezold hit the ceiling because Council was selling the land he used free as parking space at the Marriott? Pezold was upset at the property being sold for $50K to another hotel group..Pezold said the FMV of that property should have been $1.3 Million. Well, Council just gave that taxpayer owned property TO Pezold. We need to demand a revocation of that deal.

Speaking of taxpayer dollars.. let's talk about the River Road Roundabout.. Originally, the Roundabout costs of $1.5 Million was going to be taken care of by the GA DOT, and Tom-LYING-son's "argument" was that the City would save all the existing costs of maintaining traffic lights. Things changed.. the cost of the project has escalated to over $4.5 Million and we taxpayers here in Columbus are footing the entire bill. Now, how long must the Roundabout "exist" before we realize $4.5-plus MILLION in savings from what we'd have paid for maintaining traffic lights there?
