Can't say the same about other Americans who wanted out of there before the last troops were evacuated.... can't say that for many Afghani helpers, either. Wonder how many more will now die now that the Taliban is in charge of their future?

The EU has removed the US from it's "Safe Travel" list... purportedly for current Covid-19 issues...if so, it's probably because of the open border policy that allows unvaccinated illegal aliens basically unfettered entry. Warped headline yesterday.... "At least one dead..all of New Orleans with power". You know, at least one person died if something that probably had nothing to do with Hurricane Ida nor Covid-19.... why comment about "at least one dead" and associated with Hurricane Ida? I do doubt "1" will be the final number after the initial stages of clean-up is completed, but from what we saw, it's a miracle.

From the "Homer Simpson..DOH!" department I just learned that the the Muscogee County School District (Columbus, GA) is not considering reducing staff until next year even if September figures confirm the drop off of students enrolled. The premise is "maybe next year the numbers might be "up" again and staff would have to be added...

In 1991, the GA Dept of Education published a "Report Card" on all of GA's public school systems.. That same year, the MCSD tried to get a "$9 MILLION Dollar Bond Issue" referendum passed that would repair/solve every problem all our schools had (you have remember that the WHOLE MCSD budget was $54 Million then)! Funny thing is,that the GA Department of Education refused to fund 200 jobs in MUSCOGEE County because.. in the GADepartment of Education's opinion... those 200 jobs 'were "NOT NECESSARY"! Now, those 200 jobs AVERAGED $45,000.00 (years 1991) dollars. Those 200 X $45,000.00 jobs totaled .. get this $9,000,000.00 ... yes $9 Million... which was the total the MCSD system felt was sufficient to "fix everything".. The System had all the local money it needed to fix things already, but were paying it out in salaries for jobs the GA Department of Education wouldn't pay for because the DOE felt those jobs were UNNECESSARY! I wonder how much in salaries and perks keeping unnecessary staff on payroll this year will waste... just in case they are needed a year from now.......

When will our garbage fees be refunded.. It was charged to us last month on our water bills, and it's on the new non-bill I got to yesterday. Of course, that's another issue as well..I autopay, and get my bill electronically... so why am I still getting flyers, paper "non-bills", and RETURN ENVELOPES!

Most think he was checking the time as if he had somewhere else to be soon..
