First, last year's total was 46 and then in January of 2021, another person died from wounds that occurred in August of 2020 that wasn't ever classified as a homicide in last year's nor this year's figures, and even though the Coroner's office has this year's total up to 44, earlier this month we already had a questionably low "count" of 43, and since then a man has been charged with the death of his infant son, a 12 year old boy was killed Friday night, and a 20 year old was killed Saturday night, we are being told 43 + 3 = 44 instead of 46.

No sooner than I wrote this, we learned of another killing on Samson Ave..off Buena Vista Rd which jumped it up to 47, and then a few minutes later, as we were driving to church, a lights-a-blazing ambulance turned off River Road into the too oft destination of the Wilson Apartments which may be number 48..Regardless.. Columbus has MORE HOMICIDES as of August 15, 2021 than all of 2020..
