Online headline: "Herman Cain Sexual Harassment Accusations: GOP Presidential Candidate Denies Politico Report " -- Sorta reminiscent of the Anita Hill allegations spurred on by Ted Kennedy and Company to derail Clarence Thomas. Must be that DIM&DUMBERats hate successful black men.
---
Online headline: "Historic Snowstorm Could Leave Millions Without Power" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought someone was rehashing the effect of the 2010 elections stripping the DIM&DUMBERats of carte blanc.
---
Online headline: "Obama Adviser Says Romney Lacks Key Presidential Quality" -- How would anyone close to potUS O'Blather even know what qualities a real president must have?
---
Watching footage on the NE snow storm has to make you wonder that since heavy snow is such an annual issue up there, then why haven't the power companies ever buried the power lines rather than constantly having to repair/rehang them every time a snow storm/freeze hits the area? It's probably a simple answer such as unions not wanting to give up the jobs that would not be necessary if the lines were buried.
---
Watching a Chantix ad is dumbfounding. Chantix says straight out that you may feel suicidal when taking ir OR if you quit taking it. Well, if you kill yourself, I guess Chantix can claim you DID quit smoking, so its product is successful.
---
potUS O'Blather's "Jobs Plan" cannot workecause it consists of getting those with jobs working harder to pay more taxes to support those who aren't really looking for a job because that would cause gthem to have to pay taxes.
---
potUS O'Blather, VPOTUS Biden-Biden, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi all have the same leadership problem. They point the finger of blame at everyone but themselves.
---
potUS O'Blather was just handed a temporary solution for his new "Jobs Plan". He's planning on the inheritance taxes from Steve Job's estate to pay for the gasoline for his Jobs Plan campaign buses.
---
Radical Islamists fired missles from the Gaza Strip into Israel this weekend. I guess missiles are the 21st Century Jihadists' form of "peace doves".
---
Errant thought L-E "soundoff": "President Obama reached a compromise with Congress for trick-or-treat. Obama will work the left side of the street and Congress the right." _ WRONG! When looking to take candy or money, potUS O'Blather and Congress all work the working side of the street, then pass out what they've collected to the other side.
---
it's almost comical that bicyclists are complaining that the Bike Trail crossings at Miller and Hilton roads are 'hazardous'. That, and being a nuisance to all car traffic, were the reasons the rail system was closed/abandoned in the fiorat place, and the reopening as a Bike Trail has brought both proiblems back into the light.
---
L-E story: "Iran's parliament is set to summon President Mahmoud Ahmandinejad for questioning over an economic scandal and hispolicies after the required number of lawmakers signed a petition Sunday, the latest salve in a long battle between the president and his rivals" -- Hmmm, I'll bet Ahmandine-JIHAD wishes he'd pushed legislation based on the American principle that one is 'considered innocent until PROVEN guilty'.
---
Herman Cain can actually feel proud that other politicos and the mainstream media are digging into his past accomplishments. After all, he's a rarity in the field of politics; he actually has accomplishments for people to dig into.
---
Online headline/story: "Gaddafi's Killer Will Be Prosecuted When Caught, Libya's Interim Government Says * Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, deputy chief of the National Transitional Council (NTC), said that anyone proven to have shot and killed Gaddafi would be brought to justice." -- Wait a minute! That sounds more like the guy will get a reward by Islamic standards .. perhaps a margin loan of a few virgins before he dies?
---
The "Occupy Wall Street 99percenters" would really have something to talk about if the 1percenters decide to take their 'ball' and just go home. No wonder we have so many liberals in politics; they only have to get half of the voters that are complaining about their sorry lives.
---
Did I hear right....Chaz has been "voted off the island" Nah, I'm not going to watch DWTS anyway.

e headline: "Halloween 2011: Obama, Michelle Hand Out Candy To White House Trick-Or-Treaters" -- Oh, Halloween's 'OK', but he doesn't want to observe the "National Day of Prayer". Guess it's a DIM&DUMBERat thing (give-away programs versus personal responsibility and sacrifice), Christians wouldn't understand.
---
Speaking of Halloween, Broadway in Columbus was teeming with hobgoblins late yesterday afternoon. They were everywhere, thicker than gnats in South GA. For the most part, it was wonderful. There was one situation that did bother me a bit. That was the Metro Boys&Girls Clubs having a 'station' giving away candy and pencils and such. It bothers me that publicly funded program would be spending/giving away its resources to non-program needs.
---
Online story: "Michael Moore has a message for Republicans: just because he's wealthy doesn't mean he can't stand with those angry with America's economic system." -- Hypocrite! Only the malcontents "Occupying" actually go to see his movies, and his presence is a greedy attempt at making a movie about them that they will pay money to go see.
---
The Program to End Homelessness....Oh, for about $200,000.00, we can hire an Executive Director and maybe an Executive Assistant. Look the program is already working. There's two people who will no longer be homeless.... until the money runs out, or Council puts them on the city payroll.
---
L-E headline/story: "Columbus State University recruiting heavily outside area, raising standards * It also appears to be the right decision for Columbus State University, which actively is recruiting more academically sound, greater Atlanta-area students. As the university’s fall enrollment holds steady at just above 8,300 students, about 60 percent of this year’s freshman applicants hail from areas covered by the Atlanta television market" -- Raising standards? After looking at the posted current standards, and after following the current cheating scandal in Atlanta, it really makes you wonder about how bad our local education is. Besides, if CSU was interested in raising standards, it would have kept Frank Brown from retiring, not brought in Mescon.
---
Another disturbing fact about CSU is that only 40% of the current students are from Muscogee County (and this years number is lower than last years), and if you combine the local area counties, barely half the students are from the area.
---
Liberal mantra L-E "soundoff": "Why is it that my Republican Party is so keen on carrying guns in virtually all public places and so keen on restricting voter registrations?" -- Liberals are so anal retentive. Guns and voting are both US Constitutionally endowed and protected. Our forefathers were so concerned about voting that they laid out specific requirements then gave every American unfettered rights to own a gun to protect those voting requirements.
---
L-E ad: "When Saturday starts with the sniffles . . . come to Columbus Regional Urgent Care Center," -- For years, hospitals have complained that people with sniffles clog up their urgent/emergency rooms, and now they are advertising for new clients? Guess MedicAid has a new program to pay for Tylenol at the $10.00 per tablet that regular hospitals charge.
---
Another L-E ad: "When You Want The Absolute Best For Your Pet. Pet Cremation Services..... -- Personally, I think being alive and breathing is best, but then who knew "I could have had a Crem-8!"
---
I thought the UGA "combat" uniforms that they wore for the first game were the ugliest things I'd ever seen, but Kentucky's wins hands down. Instead of "Go Big Blue", they should be chanting "go ig Bruise".
---
From a fellow BCer: "There is finally conclusive evidence that Osama bin Laden and Muammar Gaddafi are dead. Yesterday, they both registered to vote in Chicago.
---
Figures in today's L-E compare the growth of Columbus from 2000 and 2010 per the Census. In 2000, Columbus had 186,292 people, and in 2010, Columbus is listed as having 189,885. How come Council used the figure of about 181,000 as its base figure to compute new District lines?

Rasmus family...now that the Cardinals have won the world series, where are you going next? "Back to Toronto.......:
---
Online Quote site: "Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, 'What's in it for me?'" - Brian Tracy " -- This should the National Campaign motto of the DIM&DUMBERats... no, on second thought, it should be put in every Conservative's ad to highlight the differences between what's good for the country's future versus the 'feed me' mantra of DIM&DUMBERats.
---
L-E story: "Sacramento, CA - Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi has been charged with felony grand theft after allegedly being caught by security officers stealing nearly $2,500 in clothing from a San Francisco Nieman-Marcus store. -- She shoulda waited until after Thanksgiving for the sales, and it would probably been worth less than $100 and considered only a misdemeanor.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go." - Oscar Wilde, Irish dramatist and poet (1854-1900)" -- Bet this was published in every Irish newspaper and scribbled on every Irish pub's bathroom wall the day before potUS O'Blather left Ireland.
---
Occupy Atlanta protesters took over the MLK Memorial site, and are claiming their involvement is one of civil rights. What a blow to the dreams of Dr King!
---
From a L-E story about Atlanta being the #1 city in income disparity. "Authorities say possible explanations include the city's large number of college students, who often have no income." -- Another possible, no, probable answer is the number of DIM&DUMBERat voters living off the government teat.
---
Once again, I'd like to see Herman Cain as the next Vice President. For two reasons: first, it would mean O'Blather bin Biden have suffered the pains of eviction so many Americans have faced while they were in office, but mainly because, I'd love to see him presiding over the US Senate like a CEO.
---
Double-take L-E headline: "In brief * Obama takes more steps alone to help businesses" -- Not only is he 'alone' in his ideas and ac"tions, he's completely 'out-of-step' solving the problems.
---
L-E headline: "White House to review Energy Department Loans" -- For what, to check whether there we any other companies owned by other liberals that they missed giving our money to the first time?
---
News Flash: L-E story: "New York - Simon Cowell doesn't use Twitter but wants "X Factor fans to use the site to vote for their favorite Contestants." -- Proof, beyond all doubt, that Simon Cowell is, indeed, the chief twit.

Friday, October 28, 2011

From the 'oh, well, it's normal for California" department - Online headline/story: "1,000 California Foster Care Homes Match Sex Offender Addresses: Report * A new audit of the California foster care system has revealed that over 1,000 foster home addresses match those of registered sex offenders, according to the Los Angeles Times. * It seems that child welfare official failed to compare the addresses even after they were told to do so in 2008. According to the Sacramento Bee, about 600 of the highlighted offenders were considered high risk." -- Well, I guess since California sees its Congresspersons doing it to the nation all the time, this is a yawner.
---
Can you believe the ruckus/indignation the mainstream media has given Herman Cain for using a smoker in a campaign add? Where is this concerned media when it reports that cigarette taxes are earmarked for government health programs, or when Madonna struts across a stage or video wearing lingerie and puffing cigarettes, or when potUS O'Blather lights one up?
---
Online story: "Linda Wall, a conservative independent Virginia candidate for the House of Delegates, admitted on Wednesday that she had an affair with a female student as a junior high gym teacher in the early 1970s, but said she has changed. * The student was a minor at the time, meaning Wall could still be prosecuted if she comes forward." -- Well, this would be another 'yawner' in California, and being a professed "conservative' would be a worse label than 'child molester' as far as her chances at be elected.
---
Online headline: "Clinton Outperforming Obama In Surprising Poll" -- "Surprising"? To whom? And I'll bet not one conservative independent or Republican was included in the poll.
---
A "Ma Beachie Casino" in Columbus? Richard Hyatt has crossed the line, a state line, at that.
---
Online headline: "4-foot-9 Running Back Playing Major College Ball" -- One question...How do you 'hit him low'?

Thursday, October 27, 2011

potUS O'Blather wants to eat his cake and have it, too. After blasting 'the rich' about paying more taxes, he went to Hollywood, hat-in-hand, to beg for campaign funds from the A-List. Why didn't he ask 'them' to send check to the US Treasury as volunteer taxes rather than lining his own pockets?
---
From what should be 'only in California' department but it's not: "Seven-Year-Old Boy Invited To Join Girl Scouts After Rejection" -- Californiaitis has worked its way East to Colorado. No wonder potUS O'Blather was campaigning fund raising there.
---
Online "TIMELY" Quote site: "One person with a belief is equal to a force of ninety-nine who have only interests." - Peter Marshall" -- Hope this runs across all the marquis sign boards in Times and Herald Squares so the Occupy Wall Street 99%ers can see this constantly.
---
Speaking of Occupy Wall Street, rumor has it that Michael Moore is set to do another mockumentary based on the protesters in the park. Working title is thought to be, "Animal Farm 2011".
---
Update! Michael Moore is rumored to have another working name for his mockumentary on the Occupy Wall Street protests...."Animal Farm 2011 - Green Belly-Achers".
---
L-E story: "Copper thefts in Columbus have dropped 47 percent since May, when the city’s Copper Theft Task Force was formed, Mayor Teresa Tomlinson announced today." -- Yeah, but only because the easy 'hits' have all been made and firms are being more observant...unless, of course, you count the MCSD.
---
L-E "soundoff" of merit: "United Way is too top-heavy in administrative salaries for Columbus Council to be giving them our money. I thought United Way was a non-profit organization dependent upon donations, not city government." -- Not my words, but they speak for me. Council should be the leaders in getting city employees to give their "Fair Share", but it's not "fair" to donate tax dollars from those who also donated their 'Fair Share". It's double dipping.
---
L-E headline: "White House challenges McClatchy story, but provides no facts to counter it " -- DOH! Name anything, at anytime, that the White House has supported with something other than rhetoric?
---
L-E headline: "Republican candidates' tax plans would benefit the rich " -- Well, shouldn't all citizens benefits from good tax overhauls? The 'rich' are people, too.
---
NYCC...New York City College? Nope, New York Communities for Change! ACORN has re-emerged with a new name, but the same goals. ACORN, now calling it self NYCC, is out soliciting funds, purportedly for Occupy Wall Street, but whatcha wanna bet don't get much further than their own pocketrs?
---
L-E "headlie": "Obama announces help for student loan borrowers" -- 'Help" is when you do something for others at your own expense, not with other peoples money. Hey Council, remember this when doling out tax dollars to charities!
---
L-E headline: "Beavis and Butt-head are back tonight on" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought Geithner and O'Blather were going to pitch their economic plan to students in hope the students would send in a donation using their Dads' credit cards.
---

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Online headline/story: "President Obama Talks Reality TV, Ignoring the GOP Field on 'The Tonight Show' * I am probably a little biased against reality TV," he admitted. "Partly because there's this program on C-SPAN called Congress." -- What really turned him off from reality TV was the coverage of the 2010 election night results.
---
WRBL3 headline: "City Council asks for congressional help keeping Columbus post office running" -- Reminds me of the farmer who hired the fox to guard the henhouse.
---
L-E headline: "Change is not always a bad thing" -- Unless that's all you have left after the tax bills go out. Change may not always be a 'bad thing', but doing things over and over expecting the same results is one definition of insanity.
---
From L-E story on the Post Office situation: “The changes they’re talking about would affect 50 jobs in Columbus,” Tomlinson said. “You known how hard we work to get a business that brings 50 new jobs to town, and we have to work equally as hard to save 50 jobs that are already in town.” -- Typical liberal! When the Chamber brings a new business to town, even with tax incentives, the new business is not tax exempt like the PO (or CSU expansion for that matter)!
---
L-E headline/story: "Councilors pass $195,000 plan to end homelessness * Councilor Skip Henderson proposed an amendment that would remove that (block grant) contingency, to show the city's commitment to the plan" -- What that really showed is that the taxpayer is not the entity that needs to be committed! What I want to know is what is the exit plan when it become obvious that this plan is akin to chasing rainbows.
---
Typical liberal "soundoff" slant: "If you like the taxes on the rich who pay less then (sic) their help *Buffet), won't they find a way to pay even less? Changing tax laws is the answer." -- While I can agree that changing tax laws is AN answer, I don't think Buffet's secretary paid over $6,000,000.00 in taxes.
---
L-E's "quotable": "Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain." - Friedrich von Schiller, German philosopher and poet" -- Obviously von Schiller thought about this when his children were teens.
---
L-E headline: "Father of artificial intelligence dies" -- Oooops, my bad. Just made me think that this was why wew haven't seen Algore recently.
---
L-E headline: "Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport * Terminal could create 2,000 jobs" -- Excuse me, but without another runway addition, the things this will create are 2,000 unnecessary jobs, higher airport expenses, higher ticket costs, higher airport operating losses, and a bigger burden on the taxpayers.
---
L-E "headlie": "Obama to offer student loan relief" -- What liberal BS. potUS O'Blather isn't doing anything but artificially keeping university professors' salaries high, perpetuatiing inflation/dollar devaluation, and deepening the debt on the private sector taxpayers.

The Breakfast Club - October 25, 2011

Online story: " A federal judge temporarily blocked Florida's new law that requires welfare applicants to pass a drug test before receiving benefits on Monday, saying it may violate the Constitution's ban on unreasonable searches and seizures. * Judge Mary Scriven ruled in response to a lawsuit filed on behalf of a 35-year-old Navy veteran and single father who sought the benefits while finishing his college degree, but refused to take the test." -- This is why the average citizen, no, the average taxpayer is suspect of the federal government (and why the 9th & 10th Amendments were constructed by our forefathers). When a person applies for taxpayer funded benefits, the taxpayers deserve to know that there is a more than reasonable chance that the recipient of such benefits is not supporting a drug habit.
---
Online story: "White House economic adviser Gene Sperling said the president considered including an expansion of mortgage refinancing in his jobs bill, but felt the changes could be implemented more quickly through executive action. * The changes to the so-called HARP program will be implemented by the independent Federal Housing Finance Agency. At its core, the initiative will relax eligibility standards, allowing those who are 25 percent of more underwater on their mortgages to take advantage of loans with lower interest rates." -- Excuse me, but how does this help the economy? All of a sudden, 25% of value is up in smoke, and the original mortgage company (or the investment purchaser) is left holding the bag for that money, which means everyone who is paying their mortgages responsibly are getting shafted by paying off their mortgage which will be worth less when its paid off. Impeach Barney Frank!
---
Online story: "Sexual education classes at NYC public high schools and middle schools might feature some usually unmentioned lessons next year. * Among those lessons? Bestiality, anal sex, oral, sex, phone sex, porn and more, WSBT reports." -- We understand when seniors retire and move south for the weather...that's OK, but we need to forget the border fences at Mexico, and raise them at the Mason-Dixon Line before next SpringBreak to keep those perverts away from our Southern Beaches.
---

Is it any wonder that mainstream media dotes on liberal politicians? Think about the number of political ads run (at premium prices, to boot), and the incessant government service ads for entitlement programs.
---

It's sorta two-faced for potUS O'Blather to be going to Las Vegas for campaign fund-raising. He 'crapped out' Las Vegas in his first year so I guess he's going back to suck any CHANGE left out of the slot machines.
---
Ohhhhhh, ohhhhh, oh. Occupy Wall Street now has a bank account of over $500,000.00 in donations, and the guys responsible for it are in no hurry to redistribute the wealth. Now, they are part of the 1%.
---
Last week, potUS O'Blather couldn't move fast enough or yell loud enough that he was involved with the death of Gadhafi. Now that the Muslim Brotherhood has declared Libya to be under Sharia Law, we might get to see how good he is at back-pedaling. Hope he's better at this than bowling.
---
Some NJ schools are banning "Halloween" because it's disruptive and distracting. Well, if schools want to stop things they consider disruptive and distracting, how about eliminating the 'early dismissals' and 'teacher planning days', and non-holiday extended vacation days. They may be 'great' for the teachers and administrators, but they are disruptive and distracting to parents and students.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": "Is it really so difficult to tell a good action from a bad one? I think one usually knows right away or a moment afterward, in a horrid flash of regret." - Mary McCarthy, American author and critic (born 1912, died today in 1989). '' -- Does this not sum up how you felt the night on the first Tuesday in November of 2008, and has not the horrid flash escalated ever since? Well, imagine the multiplication of that emotion of those voters who voted just for "HOPE & CHANGE"....
---
L-E headline: "Libyan leaders seek to calm West * Move toward Sharia Law has backers worried" -- Calming the West while adopting Sharia Law has as much chance of success as a juggler trying to yo-yo at the same time.
---
L-E headline: "Oscar Mayer Wienermobile coming to Columbus" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought a limo was parading that ex-NY DIM&DUMBERat Congressman around the country as a reminder to vote Republican in all elections.
---
L-E headline: "Government Job Losses a growing drag on recovery" -- Maybe on a short term basis, but long term, everyone will benefit from less taxes being confiscated by those who actually earn money.
---
From the 'only in California' department: "Fox News reports this AM that Sonoma County, California is now accepting Mexican drivers licenses as legal ID. Look for the next ballot to be available in Spanish as well.

Monday, October 24, 2011

Online headline: "Obama Has Written Personal Checks To Struggling Americans" -- Probably along with a note; something like, 'thanks for your HOPE and life savings; here's your pocket CHANGE.
---
Online headline/story: "New Libyan Leaders Announce Turn Toward Islam * Libya's interim rulers declared the country liberated on Sunday after an 8-month civil war, launching the oil-rich nation on what is meant to be a two-year transition to democracy. But they laid out plans with an Islamist tone that could rattle their Western backers" -- Hmmm, in 2 years, potUS O'Blather, a.k.a. B. Hussein Obama, would be available; coincidence?
---
Online story: The Arizona-UCLA streaker, "Jace Michael Lankow, 22, was arrested on charges of criminal impersonation after running onto the field at Arizona Stadium wearing a referee’s uniform. He blew a whistle and tried stealing the game ball. *
The Daily Star reports that the criminal impersonation charge is a felony" -- Wonder how many 'real' referees will face similar charges following blown calls?
---
We should be thankful, very thankful, that gas stations can't appeal to the Georgia PSC
to get a price increase when drivers use less gasoline because the prices are to high. GA Power should lose its access.

Online headline: "Despite Global Conflict, Statistics Show Violence In Steady Decline" -- Government statistics also say we don't have an inflation problem. Just confirms the adage that, "Figures don't lie, but liars figure a lot".
---
The latest from barackobama.com: "I'm James Kvaal, the new policy director for President Obama's 2012 campaign." -- I'm waiting for the news that we have a 'new policy setter' in 2012.
---
potUS O'Blather goes on tours to promote his 'jobs' plan. Let's recap his plan so far. He's created jobs in Canada building his buses; he's created jobs in Mexico building SunPower solar panels; and he's created jobs in Finland building $80-90K electric sports cars for the 1%... and with our money. Guess he's not going to run for re-election next year; he's campaigning to be appointed head of the UN!
---
I've had with government involvement in our healthcare, and HELL-thScare hasn't really started. Being congested, I went into a CVS yesterday to buy package of Sudafed, and was told by the pharmacist she couldn't sell any as their stock had been pulled and locked up because of some kind of Class 5 alert. I have no idea what that is (nor knew such existed), but Sudfed works for me, and since we have to produce an ID and sign a 'log' for such purposes, why can't I get some when I need/want some? I always wondered how much money the ID/signature procedure costs and how effective it was, and now we see it is just a waste of dollars and time.
---
L-E headline: "HOME2SUITES BY HILTON COMING TO COLUMBUS" -- Guess Hilton tried to find a room in Columbus on Expedia, and couldn't find one so Hilton thought that Columbus might need a new hotel.
---
L-E "Thought for Today": "A learned fool is more of a fool than an ignorant fool." Moliere, French playwright (1622-1673) -- Wasn't Harvard founded in 1636? Makes sense...
---
I do hope that the "10-Year Plan to End Homelessness" succeeds, but I would like to see a specific amendment to the plan that stops all City of Columbus expenditures at the 5-year mark if definite progress for the 100% end of homelessness in Columbus is not on a reasonably agreed on track of success.
---
I wasn't for it in the beginning, and I'm still not convinced of the ability of the Crime Prevention Commission to actually do such, but I am encouraged that the principals take their concern for properly distributing such funds seriously. Pop Barnes outrage is misplaced for demanding the Commission abandon the common sense qualifications for program requests.
---
Why does Council think they should donate excess inventory, like the "pursuit vehicle bar lights" to CSU? It would be one thing if CSU paid property taxes to cover city services for CPD, CFD, and road repair services, but CSU is 'exempt' from such. Put the aforementioned 'pursuit vehicle bar lights' up for bids so all qualified police/fire/private security departments around the area/country can set a price for the worth, and if CSU is the high bidder, so be it. Another question: If another police service wants the 'pursuit vehicle bar lights', why are we buying new ones?
---
Don't you wonder when, or if ever, Ole Miss will decorate its end zones with "Black Bears" instead of "Rebels"?

So V-POTUS Biden-Biden has to lie about crime figures to make his point seem valid, but what would make more people feel safer on a permanent vs temporary basis, cost less than hiring more police, and creating real private sector jobs in this country?

It's rather simple, actually. For $30 Billion, government could provide a $300 handgun (equipped with a GPS chip for tracking) to 100 Million households that don't have a resident with a violent criminal record, and even homeless that don't have violent criminal records. It would also create American jobs because you make American manufacturers bid on making the guns here in America!

Shoot, this oughta win me the Nobel 'PIECE' Prize for this year, with at least a runner-up prize in economics.
---
Online headline/story: "A Call to Action on World Polio Day - by Bill Gates * It's a celebration because in the past 20 years, polio cases are down 99 percent, thanks to one of the most ambitious global health campaigns in history. * But World Polio Day is also a call to action because we haven't done enough yet. Polio is still paralyzing children. The last one percent is the hardest percent" -- This is why I do not support "The March of Dimes" organization. 40 +/- years ago, MOD declared polio was cured, and re-invented itself to just a being a fund raising organization for various birth defects. You can donate directly to the same organizations that the MOD does without the MOD taking its administrative costs out of your money.
---
South Carolina's ex-Gov, Mark Sanford to join Fox News? What is Fox thinking? There's nothing sly about this thought.
---
Our Constitution set up our form of government as a Limited Republic, not a Democracy. Why do DIM&DUMBERats always refer to pt as a Democracy? Why, because a pure democracy will end up in a socialist/despot form in time as people realize they can vote things for themselves up until the day that the industrious can no longer function.
---
Hey, Mike; hey Lee - Inquiring minds want to know whether Tony Adams has completed his 'community service' sentence, and if so, what duties did he actually perform to pay back the citizens of Columbus?
---
Attention liberals! You know that income tax deductions are not mandatory. You can choose not to take deductions for yourself, your spouse, your children, your mortgage interest, your capital losses, or any other tax credits or loopholes, and pay more in taxes. Just direct your tax preparer to do so. Otherwise....stop 'feeling guilty' and stop whining!
---
Another one of potUS O'Blather's 'loans' made with American tax dollars has been revealed to be in Finland. Over $500,000,000.00 in loan guarantees has gone to a car manufacturer in Finland. The company says it would have created jobs here, BUT it doesn't have a factory in America. How about them plums?
---
It gets better and better...unless, of course, you are potUS O'Blather. The Solyndra loan....many times George Kaiser was a welcomed guest to the White House; he got the loan which has disappeared in thin air. Now, we learn of the loan to a Finland Corporation to build electric sport cars that only the 1% can afford, and guess who's been involved.... ALGORE! As Red Allen might say, "Well, how about that!"
---
Lynchburg, TN is wanting to put a barrel tax on Jack Daniels because Jack Daniels has benefited by putting Lynchburg on its labels. The truth is that Jack Daniels put Lynchburg ON THE MAP! Lynchburg should pray Jack Daniels doesn't move.
---
WRBL3 headline: "39th President partners with Thomas the Tank Engine to help kids read" -- How appropriate...the 39th President who came close to 'tanking' America, now teams up with a "Tank".
---
You know, to pull all our troops out of Iraq can best be compared to sticking one's hand into a bucket of water. As long as you're moving your hand or even your little finger, you can keep the water energized. When you take your hand completely out, the water will look like you've never stuck your hand into it. The families of those who died there, and those who came back scarred for life should resent this move.
---
L-E headline/story: "Gadhafi's body stashed in freezer * Outside the shopping center, residents waited in line for their chance to enter the freezer and have their picture taken with Gadhafi's body. Different visiting hours have been set for women and children and for men." -- Never will I look the same again at a line of Moms, Dads, and children lined up at the Mall's Santa World waiting to have their pictures taken with Santa.
---
L-E headline: "Occupy Wall Street * 37 percent of public backs protesters" -- Their point? 37 percent would let their children go to the movie with PeeWee Herman.

Steve Jobs is getting his last jabs in through his biography. Not only did he display his vision for the future by telling potUS O'Blather that he 'was headed for a one-term presidency, he nailed the education woes on the head, saying it was "crippled by union work rules," noted (Biographer Walter)Isaacson. "Until the teachers' unions were broken, there was almost no hope for education reform." -- Better sell off your Apple stock now, liberals will turn on Apple now that Jobs has revealed what he really thought.
---
Online story: "MEXICO CITY — Mexican President Felipe Calderon accused the United States on Thursday of dumping criminals at the border because it is cheaper than prosecuting them, and said the practice has fueled violence in Mexico's border areas." -- Dang, potUS O'Blather is really trying a new tactic to get re-elected, and it might work if he publicizes this in his campaign tour. On the other hand, the Latino vote may turn on him.
---
Online story: "The American Civil Liberties Union on Thursday accused the FBI of targeting racial, ethnic and religious groups for investigation by associating criminal behaviors to specific communities." -- Doh! Profiling, isn't that exactly what the ACLU does to Christians, Conservatives, and Patriots?
---
From L-E story: Leo Wiener, a partner in Glenwood Development, said, "
“Both of those improvements, the natatorium and the city service center, just bring more traffic. We can’t build a lot more rooftops in the area, but we can bring more traffic and daytime population and nightime population and things to do. Those are important pieces of the puzzle.” -- Yeah, but at what cost to Downtown development? At a time that apartments and condo are being planned and built to bring in people, the City is shutting down government aspects that traditionally brought citizens into the down town area, and moving those operations to Midtown. There go the odds on getting a much needed major drugstore or grocery store in Downtown.
---
So, Reverend Roy doesn't think the "SOA Watch" will be as big this year....because to many of the kooks are spread out "Occupying" other spaces. Guess what, if the L-E simply ignored it, it might just go away.
---
WTVM9 story: "Eight washers, one dryer and one iron base were taken from the Soap Haven Laundromat on Miller Road. * The thefts happened between October 14th and Wednesday. * Police say no one actually broke into the building though, the appliances were all sitting outside the laundromat." -- Just on a hunch, has anybody checked with Garbage Pick-up or the landfill?
---
Did you notice that the Muslim death squad that killed Gaddafi didn't follow the same reverence for a Muslim body that potUS O'Blather insisted we give Osama bin Laden? Muslims pulled him out of a drainage pipe, tortured him then executed him, displayed the dead corpse in disrespect, and potUS O'Blather couldn't help but try to horn in on some of the credit. Where are those pictures of bin Laden?
---
It's a sign of his inexperience...potUS O'Blather is trying to reassure Americans, especially the mainstream media, that he is on the job and making the 'right' decisions. Never having made a payroll, never having to adjust a business to the changing economy makes him blinded to what decision making is about. Decisions need to be made based on whether it is 'good' based on what facts you have available at the time, and when new facts come forward, you can adjust that decision if necessary. If you make a decision because you think it's 'right', then you will only digest new 'facts' based on whether they support your decision.

At the halfway point in the current SPLOST collection period a couple of months ago, I asked the MCSD board chair to publicly address the issue of the shortfall of the SPLOST revenues as they apply to the construction list presented at the SPLOST campaign. After recently noting that too many issues are now being addressed at 'work sessions' prior to public meetings, I can't wonder but what we are going to have thrown into the mix at the last minute. The SPLOST revenue period is almost finished with its 3rd year, and if projects aren't eliminated, we could, no, we will be stuck with projects in progress and heavy debt to boot. Contact board members and demand answers.

Disillusioned liberal "soundoff": _ You people (note: hey, isn't that a racist term!) who support trickle-down economics, wake up, look around. Proud of what we've become? -- Sorry, buddy, but this is the condition brought on by the DIM&DUMBERats; 'trickle-up poverty' plan.
---
L-E headline/story: "Venezuela's Chavez says he's free of cancer * "I'm free of illness." Chavez said on state television." -- Don't you think Venezuela wishes it could say it is 'free' of the cancer of Chavez?

Steve Jobs must be rolling over in his grave after seeing the L-E advertise and Android app for iPhones!

Online headline: "Joe Biden: Murder, Rape Rates Will Rise Without Jobs Bill" -- He should have thought about that before he presented the HELL-thSCare Bull to the Senate for a vote.
---
Occupy Wall Street - No wonder potUS O'Blather is out promoting it...it has taken the media away from "fast & furious", sending armed troops in to Uganda, the transition of Libya, and actually having a 'jobs plan' that can be read.

Occupy Wall Street - OWS - Obliterate Worthwhile Stories.

Online headline:"Susan Sarandon Calls Pope A Nazi, Report States" -- Next, she will be calling him a Republican! B----!

The spot price for copper is $3.31 per pound...if the amount of copper wire stolen from the MCSD was valued at $122,000.00, wouldn't that mean that the MCSD had 36,858 pounds (over 18 Tons) of unneeded copper wiring (a.k.a. wasted tax dollars) lying around in an unsecured quonset hut? There needs to be some 'splaining.
---
Let's parse the copper theft. If the 10 rolls of wire weighed 35 pounds each, that would be 350 pounds. There were also 40 boxes of copper wire stolen/missing that were not detailed as to weight. If we subtract the weight of the 10 rolls (a stated 350 pounds) from 36,858 pounds, we have 36,508 pounds, and if we divide the 36,508 pounds by the 40 boxes missing, then each box of copper weighed in at over 912 pounds each. Either the accused had some help and a fork lift, or the total dollar value has been overstated, or someone in the school system is trying to cover up some discrepancy in what the inventory value should be. I don't think this can be dismissed as a 'new math' error.
---
From an un-bylined feature of the L-E: "Talk about spooky. * The process to fill the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit judgeship vacated by Doug Pullen resumes on Halloween, an appropriate date considering how Pullen left office -- during a Judicial Qualifications Commission misconduct investigation." -- What a crappy piece of "journalism"! Being whipped by a strand of wet spaghetti is too good for the anonymous (_@_) on 'the staff' who penned that. May the alleged journalist be strung up on a limb at an oak on Toomer's Corner while little children throw unwanted Halloween candy at him!
---
Herman Cain for Vice President! Regardless of who is president, I'd like Herman Cain to preside over the U.S. Senate. Can you imagine earmarks being slipped into bills with Herman Cain in charge? Unlike Biden, despite potUS O'Blather's claim that 'no one messes with Joe', no one would mess with Herman!

The L-E reports that some $122,000.00 worth of copper wire is missing. Is this the same school system that has subbed out the security camera installations? Why would that much copper wire be accumulated for normal maintenance projects?
---
Obviously the copper rolls couldn't be taken out by the windows, so why did it take from October 3 to October 14th before someone knew the wire was missing? Wouldn't a door have to have been opened, and isn't there some kind of alarm system on at least the doors?
---
Update on copper wire theft:

Picture above is an L-E photo of where where $122,000.00 of copper wire was kept on school district grounds. Sorta looks as secure as us using our out back storage sheds to hold our svaings accounts. The wire had been stored there since 1998 following a wiring project adding computer plugs to classrooms. I know the copper wire wasn't worth $122,000.00 in 1998, but is was of considerable value then, but why wasn't that much excess sold off? Just the fact that this much wire is, uh, 'was' still around testifies to poor inventory management.
---
It was funny, no pretty sad actually, to hear the spokesperson for the US Communist Party say they would not put a candidate in the 2012 election, because they already have a candidate they can get behind. Hmmm, would that be Rand Paul, or Newt, or Mitt, or Gov Perry....or are they just satisfied with potUS O'Blather?
---
Straight from barackobama.com: "Americans deserve a leader who takes the job seriously." -- Yeah, instead of one who prefers golf and bowling, and he'd be better off, well, we would be better off, if he were golfing and bowling rather than hanging on to his day job.
---
WTVM9 headline: "Obama on NC, VA bus tour: 'I'm the president'" -- And under his breath, he probably muttered, "I don't have a clue", and the crowd probably thought, 'hmmm, great Halloween costume'.
---
Occupy Wall Street is imploding. People are stealing from each other. Seems that they really don't like the redistribution of wealth when it comes out of their pockets.

---
Online headline: "Teen Charged With Carrying 45 Pounds Of Pot Off Amtrak Train " -- Government job creation? Brings a new era to the stewardess' question: Coffee? Tea? Weed?
---
Where are the liberal media on Islamic hate and intolerance crimes committed in this country? If a conservative father killed his daughter because some teen boy looked at her wrong, liberals would be outraged. If a conservative carved a Star of David into the back of a Muslim poet, liberals would be livid! These are Muslim on Muslims crimes that happened in America...try to find a liberal operation that acknowledges them. Or is it just "a Muslim thing...you wouldn't understand"?
---
L-E headline: "Social Security to hand out first raises since '09" -- Must be election year.
---
The truck carrying potUS O'Blather's TelePrompters was stolen enroute to a campaign stop....wonder if potUS O'Blather was speechless?
---
L-E headline: "Alcohol changes would still require owners to go through proper channels" -- DOH! This statement sounds like something VEEPotus Biden, or potUS O'Blather might come up with.
---
From the above story: "A $165 sign will have to be posted notifying passersby that the business has applied for an alcohol license." -- Well, that will knock out any new Broadway businesses because chances are that The Facade Board would not approve such a sign.
---
L-E headline: "Ft Benning * All are welcome to give FEEBACK (sic) on Facebook Forum" -- Does this mean in addition to ending 'DADT' that the Army is adopting 'b-bonics' as the official language?
---
The PSC and GA Power are going after our money....again! Now "they" want to charge everyone "up to a nickle a month" (I guess instead of a 'nickle and dime us' fee) to build more solar projects. There's a "Solyndra' joke in here somewhere, but more realistically, why is the PSC allowing any GA Power rate increases to build more power source, when GA Power is asking for higher rates to offset that consumers are using less power?
---
Just an observation, but watching Fox last night shows that Newt is confident, hitting the gym, and pushing back from the table before desserts are served. He's always had the best answers, but now he's working on being likeable.

From the "only in California" department (I surely hope and pray): "A lesbian couple in California who say their 11-year-old son Tommy who wants to be a girl named Tammy are giving their child hormone blockers that delay the onset of puberty -- so that he can have more time that he can have more time to decide if he wants to change his gender." -- This is an adopted child, and 'why' this practice should cease.
---
Online headline: "Poll: 50 Percent Of Americans Support Marijuana Legalization" -- As Ronald Reagan was apt to start a response, "Well, there they go again....." Not one mention as to whether the poll had any connection with the overall voter population or was limited to DIM&DUMBERats or simply a poll conducted by ACORN.
---
L-E story: "Deciding the evidence is insufficient to show Columbus realtor Herta Bailey was still alive Sept. 29, 2008, when her tenant poured muriatic acid on her face and neck, the Georgia Supreme Court on Monday overturned Rickey Powell’s conviction for aggravated battery." -- Isn't this the same court that reversed Judge Pullen because the Judge asked prosecutors if they had "proven jurisdiction" in cases? If there is anything that needs a complete 'overturn' it's the GA Supreme Court...just on the basis of unnecessary waste of tax dollars used in retrials over imagined technicalities! Whatta they smokin'?
---
I still have to wonder about the story of the cause of the Water Works water tank 'collapse'. Since then, security cameras and lighting have been installed covering the access points.
---
L=E headline story: "Court reinstates death sentence in 1994 slayings * A lower court this year threw out the sentence, finding Morrow (muderer) was denied effective legal help during the sentencing phase of his trial." - Well, there they go again (where have we heard that phrase before?). I remember the first time I heard the phrase "denied effective legal help", and said we'd be hearing that a lot more often as anyone convicted could make that claim, and here it is again.
---
L-E headline/story: "High school coach severely beaten after game * (Warren County School Superintendent Carole) Carey tells the Augusta Chronicle that one of the football players smashed the coach in the head with a helmet after he intervened in a dispute between players" - Hmmm, wonder whether that player will be most aggressively recruited by Saban, Spurrier, or Richt?
---
L-E headline/story: "Hardaway-Northside game moved to Thursday * With the workday and allow those schedule adjustment day scheduled for Friday, we felt it best to play on Thursday night and allow those schools to have more of an extended weekend," Gary Gibson, Chief Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, said." -- This guy must be applying to become the replacement for Jay Carney as the White House spinmeister, but the most disturbing point of tyhis is that he is the CHIEF Administrative Assistant; how many Assistant Administrative Assistants are on the MCSD payroll?
---
Hey, Tony Rasmus, now that the St Louis Cards have won the National League Championship, where are you going next? Obviously not the World Series.
---
Just got back from taking my daughter to school, and while out, I drove behind a car that had "Multiple DONAR" lettered across his rear window. I sure hope he's not a "brain DONOR".
---
Election suggestion: Let's go back to electing the VP like it used to done. Let who ever comes in second in the presidential election be the VP. That way, the opposing party would preside over the Senate, and legislation would probably stay focused on solutions rather than earmarks and vote buying entitlement laws.
---
Online headline: "Mubarak Sons Have $340 Million In Swiss Bank Accounts, Says Official" -- Yeah, and I bet most of it was American foreign aid!
---
Did you hear about the research results concerning children/teens taking in more radiation from cell phones than adults because 'their skulls are thinner"? Yeah, right... no amount of government funded research will ever convince intelligent adults that teen skulls aren't thicker than ours!

L-E headline: "People illegally dumping trash behind Oxbow " -- Hmmm..Musta been the designated campground for "Occupy Columbus".
---
Phil Scoggins had to be embarrasses doing the WRBL3 news last night. After WRBL3 went to the expense of sending a crew to get the story behind "Occupy Columbus", it showed that maybe 12 +/- showed up. Of course, that may have increased the viewership significantly from the regular Sunday night figures.
---
"Occupy Wall Street" could get real interesting soon. Someone(s) has given $300,000.00 to the "only all-union bank" in the world, and opened a storage facility to accumulate/distribute supplies to the protesters. This has the all the ingredients to become a living documentary of "Animal Farm", where all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
---
The Martin Luther King Memorial is bigger than life. Forget it potUS O'Blather, you will never fill those shoes.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": "Those who nobly set out to be their brother's keeper sometimes end up by becoming his jailer. Every emancipation has in it the seeds of a new slavery, and every truth easily becomes a lie." - I.F Stone. American journalist, (1907-1989). -- Man, did Stone peg the "Great Society" of L. B. Johnson and the DIM&DUMBERats of the 60's and their subsequent welfare programs!
---
One of the most consistent demands of various "Occupy Wherever" has been for the repeal of the "Bush Taxcuts". Just shows you what not knowing what a real job and salary is makes most DIM&DUMBERats less than smart enough to fend for themselves.
---
Have you ever wondered what the percentage number is of DIM&DUMBERat voters who have always relied on some form of government to pay their salary and benefits?
---
There's a story in the L-E saying "Occupy Chicago" has a list of 12 demands that clarify their positions. Like all of potUS O'Blather's speeches about his plans, not one of the list was actually stated.
---
L-E - please stop advertising that you have an Android App on your website. You have an iPhone App, but not one for other Android based phones.
---
Have you noticed that potUS O'Blather was been quick to send in American support to aid Libyan rebels against the reigning government despotism, but has done nothing to aid the "Ladies in White" in Cuba fighting to end the communist regime of Castro?
---
Missouri School Systems are initiating new guidelines in the lunchroom demanded by potUS O'Blather's orders in order to cut back on wasted food/supplies, and to keep to keep Federal Funding for such. In one such school, the students who actually use to pay for their lunches have organized, and are planning to bring their lunches from home for the rest of the year. Bet the school's wasted food and supplies increase.
---
Fred Couples picking Tiger Woods is actually a good choice. If he hadn't. all the media attention would have been focused on that issue alone, rather than what people want to see...good golf. If Tiger plays well, Couples looks even better; if not, then Woods will have to live with it. I hope Tiger shoots 'lights out', and his fellow Americans crush the Internationals.
---
Sara Pauff says, "I used to be smart." * "Then I graduated from college" * Sometimes I feel like half of the knowledge I acquired from 17 years of schooling has leaked out of my head because I don't use it on a regular basis." -- Bet she becomes a better writer, and I'll bet Academia isn't listening to her plight.

L-E headline: "Indecent exposure reported at Columbus middle school" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought someone was just rehashing deficiencies in preparing kids for their CRCTs.
---
The "Occupy Columbus" met at a coffee shop yesterday. Ironic isn't it, that after going to college and spending their parents or student loan money on $5.00 lattes, that students who can't get jobs because their degrees weren't specific enough to qualify them for real jobs, are out protesting that jobs available 'suck' because they cannot afford spending their own money/allowances on $5.00 lattes that they became used to having when spending their parents money/student loans, and now, they are faced with paying back the loans .
---
Bush's Fault? I'm sure Jay Carney will be out spinning a tale that says it's Bush's Fault that potUS O'Blather is such a warmonger. The stepped up war in Afghanistan, Libya, and now potUS O'Blather is sending 100 troops into central African countries of Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. And how would you loike to be one of only 100 soldiers sent out to offer support against ruthless guerilla fighters 'in an advisory' capacity. Does potUS O'Blather think the guerillas will know, even care, that the soldiers are there to talk rather than shoot? On the other hand, if he's sending in someone to talk the guerillas into submission, why doesn't he just fly in himself? Drats, should have thought about this before I suggested it. Of course he couldn't talk to guerillas in central Africa. his TelePrompters are not solar battery operated!
---
Redd Foxx, if he was still living, clutching his heart, would have yelled, one more time. "Elizabeth, this is the big one! I'm coming to see you." if he read only the first paragraph of Froma Harrop's column in today's L-E. Too bad he wouldn't have lived longer to read the return to her normal "Camel's harrummmpphhh" of reality as she rambled on.
---
Aren't Court Recorders pretty much in the same category as 'slide rules' were in the days preceding the hand calculator hitting the market place? With the advances in video recording, and voice recognition software, why are court recordings left to the frailties of human error, and human mental lapses?
---
L-E headline: "Deadbeat state: Ill. owes billions in unpaid bills" -- Guess Illinois is trying to hold its "favorite son" to his campaign promises of free gas, housing, food, and education. Of course, wanna bet whether or not the politicians are holding off on paying their own salaries?
---
Keep Columbus Beautiful is fighting a losing battle as long as bicyclist over 50 are allowed to ride the streets wearing spandex.

Online headline: "Obama, Lee Myung-Bak To Pitch Trade Deal In Michigan " -- After watching potUS O'Blather throw out a few 'first pitches' in season openers for the Major Leagues, it's pretty certain he will not throw a strike on this pitch either.
---
Ever notice that liberals will 'wink' when one of their politicians tells a lie in order to get a fence sitting voter to lean left, but they really get bent out of shape when a politician lies about one of their issues? Unfortunately for 'us', 'they' will still vote for 'them'.
---
From online quote source: "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." - Henry Ford" -- What a perfect addition to the walls of the MCSD Board and every classroom. It's time our students are encouraged to succeed rather than be told they are victims and have excuses for their less than acceptable performances.
---
Of course bicyclists 'fear' cars.. and if more ride like the woman I saw yesterday making a left turn, in traffic, from the right hand lane, and without any thought of making a hand signal, then we are bound to hear more horror stories about cars 'not sharing the road'. "Sharing the road" means bicyclists need to read the laws on what is expected of them, too.
---
This is an online comment by someone else to the story of the MCSD withdrawing a vote on closing the Academic Success Center: "MCSD can't close down a flailing institution like Academic Success because our school super wants to build a $200,000 parking lot next to Rigden Rd. Elem. so teachers and staff have to get paid subs to attend meetings at Rigden Rd. held by untrained technicians to present ideas that will probably not be used in the classroom setting. Now doesn't all that make MCSD school board sense? Hey, I'm still waiting on a petting zoo and clown college." -- He might have been a little hard on the parking lot at Rigdon Road School; if scores keep dropping, it may need the parking spaces for students who will be there long enough to get their driving licenses.
---
Liberal L-E "soundoff": "Wall Street protesters are demonstrating against exactly the right things. When the extremely wealthy begin to pay their fair share and stop sending jobs overseas for even more, then America will get better -- not until." -- Where do you even begin in explaining Real World 101 to someone like this? Simply, America will get better when EVERYONE contributes something constructive to the nation, and to the economy.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": "A friend to all is a friend to none. - Aristotle, Greek philosopher (384 B.C. - 322 B.C) -- What a nutshell definition of the DIM&DUMBERat Party!
---
Hmmm. "Occupy Columbus" is meeting at Fountain City today, while "Brewfest" is going on across the block. What a combination...caffeine-hyped jobless college students with fake ID's and barrels of beer.
---
"Help the Hooch" volunteers may not come back next year after watching what they pick up this AM be replaced by early afternoon by the "Occupy Columbus" crowd.
---
CRCT scores would improve dramatically if students were simply encouraged that they can actually do the work versus being convinced that their situation is an excuse for lower expectations.
---
From the "who'da thunk it department" - Mattel has announced it's latest net income is up 6% because of increased interest in "Barbie dolls". Guess the Occupy Wall Street crowd will now blame their plight for having made the no-visible-means-of-support "Barbies and Kens" their role models.

Online headline: "Barney Frank: It Was Mistake To Say Tim Geithner Should Fly Commercial" -- No, that was an error in information/judgment; a mistake was whenthe voters re-elected Frank to the House.

Online headline: "Occupy Wall Street Protesters Clean Park In Preparation For Evacuation" -- Ohh, that's why the SEIU union members were called in to participate!

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough railed Hank Williams, Jr for his analogy using Hitler, yet Scarorough ranted at ease comparing the front running Republican candidate of the day to having as much a chance to win "as the number three in Al Qaeda"

Pop Barnes was way out of line berating the Safety Prevention Commission. When dealing with public funds, it is necessary, no, mandatory, that the organizations provide proof of worthiness to receive grants/funding. Asking for an IRS 501 (c) 3 letter, and a tax form 990 is not only should be required, but mandated.

Mike Owen warns us that the center airgun at the Fair shoots a little to 'the Right'. Bet that's the first time in his life he's been on the on "the Right side" of an issue.

L-E headline: "Salon Suspect's Ex-Wife Claimed He Was Unstable" -- Hmmm. looks like she was right, 'dead right'.

Pelosi sent a thick packet of 'suggestions' for the Deficit Super Committee to weigh in their search for $1.5 TRILLION dollars in budget cuts (well, actually, mainly new taxes). Wanna bet she has or hasn't read it? Besides, if she felt her input would be helpful, why didn't she just appoint herself a committee of 1 to trim the deficit when she had a House Majority?
---
Online TV9 headline: "Thousands of students prepare to 'Occupy' colleges" -- Huh? Isn't that what they do every day, or is this just an opportunity to have a few 'mass cut days' during mid-terms and get extra-credit from their profs?

Why is/was it an issue of whether or not the teachers and administrators kept/lose their teaching certificates because they were involved in the CRCT testing scandal in Atlanta? Not one of them should still be there.

Online headline: "Obama Camp Unleashes on Romney" -- The campaigning just shifted gears. When you can't talk about what you've done that makes you re-electable, then you HOPE you can establish that CHANGE will be worse than what you are.
---
Online "headlie": "Warren Buffett Reveals Massive 2010 Salary -- And How Much He Paid In Taxes" -- Just intentional HuffPost misinfo. Buffet did reveal his income and the taxes he paid, but nearly all of it was in dividends and long term capital gains which are not 'salary'. His salary was not disclosed.

The L-E is wondering whether the final BRAC figures will be further downsized. That's possible, BUT regardless of whether the numbers are no more than 1/2 of the original figure, it's still a boost compared to the Ft Knox area losses.

L-E headline: "Columbus police: 18-year-old found with suspected pot at Spencer High" -- At least it wasn't a cigarette, Tylenol, or a water gun which have 'zero tolerance' policies.

If liberals are so concerned about services for children of illegal aliens, then call DFCS when a child is discovered with illegal alien parents, and put them foster care until parents are deported, then return the child/children at the border. Who can find fault with this?

That woman charged with beastiality involving a 6-year-old boy...the b---- should be tethered to a post in a pit bull arena, smeared with steak juices, and have a couple of Michael Vick's unfed-in-a-week pit bulls turned loose on her.
---
The fact that events go on at the Civic Center and that those events negotiate revenues by giving the Civic Center manager for his/her personal use/discretion is wrong, probably criminal. It's at least a case of converting public property for personal gain/benefit. I really don't care how it's done in other places. It's wrong, period.
---
I think Denzel Washington is a fine person, a good actor, and a generous giver. I applaud his donation to his university to chair a job for a professor, and I applaud his gift of a scholarship program for student actors, but I'm appalled that he gave it with a racial clause, and furious that his alma mater did/would/could accept such a gift with such a condition. I do know I would be vilified as a racist if I made a donation to an educational body with any racial restrictions.
---
A lady wrote an impassioned plea about being against the closing of the Academic Success Center, and said she would be at the MCSD Board on Monday to express her disdain in person. That would or could be considered admirable unless you consider she lives in Harris County, and she doesn't pay property taxes in Columbus. What 'dog does she have in this hunt'?

From ongoing L-E story RE: Expedia: " As to the Attorney General’s actions, Mr. Olens and I went (to) Emory Law School together and I suspect if he were City Attorney, he would guard the attorney-client privilege to the full extent of the law.” -- Let's do assume that Olens would do as Fay says...I'm still the client, we are the client, and at least I want to know what my/our lawyer is doing about an issue involving me.
---
While I'm not opposed to hiring the best person for a job even if that person is from across the country, I do have to wonder about hiring a Director of Public Services who has no local knowledge of Columbus, and at age 61, she may retire before she completes the job's 'learning curve'.
---
How about an alternative designation; instead of it being called a 'Flakes' way, why not call it "His Way" to honor Him
---
Yesterday's message from barackobama.com gave a Washington phone number to Sen McConnell's office so DIM&DUMBERat minions could clog up the switchboard. Just like the jobs bill potUS O'Blather has proposed, this tactic won't work, either.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg is becoming (or maybe always has been) a walking/talking oxymoron. He tells New Yorkers and visitors what they can't put in their bodies at NYC restaurants, but then tells the Occupy Wall Street vagabonds they can empty their bodies of whatever they been eating/drinking by urinating/defecating wherever they please.

L-E headline/story: "U.S. ties Iran to plot to assassinate Saudi diplomat * Secretary of State Clinton said, "The idea that they would attempt to go to a Mexican drug cartel to solicit murder-for-hire to kill the Saudi ambassador, nobody could make that up, right?" -- Can you believe XPOTUS Clinton's wife would suggest, much less state categorically, that a DIM&DUMBERat couldn't possibly make up an absurd story is incredible! Speaking of such, wonder what Monica Lewisnki is up to, or if her Rose Law Firm files ever were found?

Online headline: "Proof of Abominable Snowman Found?" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought maybe Algore's everyday "secret identity" had been unmasked.
---
Students, actually their parents, do have legitimate complaints about the high cost of students living on campus at a University System college here in Georgia.

Example: One of my daughters shares an apartment style setup at a Georgia University, and the semester cost is about $3,600.00. That doesn't seem as ominous at first glance, but when you consider that semesters are only about 4 months, so it comes to a rent of $900.00 a month times 4 people for a rather cramped 4 single-bed bedrooms, 2 shared bathrooms, and a common living room & kitchenette. When you consider 2 semesters (about 8 months) are a school year, that minescule apartment for 4 draws in over $28,000.00 per 8 months. If it is used during the summer semester, then the revenue for such a small space can bring in over $43,000.00 in revenue.

Inversely, another daughter attends another Georgia University but lives year round in an off campus 1-bedroom apartment, and her rent is less than $500.00 a month which rounds out at about $6,000.00 annually. Even with another $125.00 a month for utility costs, one daughter has housing costs of about $7,500.00 annually, but the one living on campus has about same cost for only 8 months.

If you annualize the on campus apartment (like if she goes to summer school) then the cost for 12 months is close to $11,000 for her portion of a 4 person apartment. There is no competitive option when students are required to live in campus housing because there is little or no private sector living options. No wonder the GA Universities are requiring the incoming student to live in campus housing...

When I first heard of the Economic Development Administration grant of $2 Million for a Harry Reid Research Center in Nevada, I nodded my head and thought, 'hmmm, maybe there is a way to find evidence to impeach Harry Reid'. Then I researched the Economic Development Administration, and found it is basically a giant "earmark factory" that Congresspersons fund $300 BILLION annually to distribute basically anonymous earmarks with out actually having their names attached to any legislation. There's $300 Billion, about 1/5th of the $1.5 Trillion the Congressional Super Committee has to cut.
---
Wow! Two Americans just won the Nobel Prize for Economics. Do you know what that means? It means we have 2 world class economists here in America, and potUS O'Blather chose Tim Geithner to be his Economic Tsar!
---
The St Louis Cardinals are in the National League Championship Series. Don't you think Colby Rasmus wishes his Dad took less interest in his career? Don't you think Edwin Jackson should send Tony Rasmus a big fruit basket?
---
Looks like the contract the City has with the Mayor's old law firm does have some caveats even though the law firm representative 'says' his firm will not collect those hourly fees. How many contracts, say like when you buy a used car, and the salesman 'says' his company will 'fix things' on a no-warranty vehicle once you've signed the contract, are honored by what is said versus what is written in the contract?
---
Why are some Councilors trying to maintain the Expedia case exists even though Expedia has given the City a $55,000.00 check by saying that Expedia hasn't confirmed that the $55,000.00 check was for the taxes owed? Just exactly what do said Councilors think Expedia gave them that check..for unpaid parking fees?
---
L-E headline: "Quarry firm wants to build conveyor * Council to decide if Vulcam Materials Co. can build system over Fortson Road" -- Hmmm, bet the first sign that goes up will be a "We are not responsible for broken windshields".
---
How can the City Attorney claim that "the taxpayer is on the hook for nothing." in the Expedia case? We taxpayers have been denied revenues from taxes associated with hotel occupancy, as well as the roll-over effect of monies visitors' expenditures spread about Columbus.

"Solyndra" - Same old Lying Yellow-dog National DIM&DUMBERats Rally Association
---
"Fast & Furious" - Fraudulent Act Some Talk & Fume Under Ruinous Injury of United States.
---
A California Assemblywoman, Sally J. Lieber introduced legislation to bypass parental knowledge/approval of preteen girls getting the HPV vacination. Lieber is obviously a diminutive for Liberal.
---
Governor Moonbeam" Brown (California..DOH!) has signed a portion of the Dream Act" into law that allows illegal aliens to apply for and receive scholarship and state aid to California's universities. Well, boys and girls, can you say "instant student loan default"?
---
So 30 +/- Streetscape trees on Veterans have died. Well, there also have been two dead trees (still in their root balls) from the Streetscape project on Veterans in a parking area between 11th & 12th Streets (East Side) since the project was 'complete'. The 'watering' part of his contract has been a joke from the git-go. The 'watering' has been contracted to anopther well-known Columbus company and consists of a truck carrying water driving slowly up & down Veterans basically 'sprinkling' the trees and grass for about 5 seconds (versus a good soaking) a tree Now, the Streetcapes Tree & Watering Contract...that's a contract I'd like to see made public.
---
I'll bet a lot of the revenue problems Columbus Council has would be solved if all its employees were required to lived in Columbus and paid property taxes to Columbus rather Hamilton or Cusseta, GA or Alabama cities.
---
The "Free Phone" program by the government is neither "free" nor even necessary. Today's 'old phones' work without their SIM cards, and even if there are no minutes on them, to make 911 calls. Instead of the government's "Free Phone" program, why don't old phones just get turned in and redistributed by Homeless/Welfare programs?
---
Since when are there two sides to Common Sense? You're either Right or you're a Liberal.
---
I have a good idea... let's let the Christians in Egypt decide whether there is a Moslem Mosque built at Ground Zero.
---
L-E headline: "Columbus police: Man arrested for punching his baby's mother on Broadway" -- Just curious... did it matter that the incident happened on Broadway or is it just a L-E campaign to associate Broadway with thuggery?
---
L-E headline: "New Law Protects Foster Kids from Identity Theft" -- How insensitive! Aren't most foster children struggling with finding their identity?
---
From the 'only in California' department - L-E headline: "In Calif., no more tanning beds for under-18 crowd" -- Hmmm, let's see, 17 year old illegal aliens can apply for state scholarships and economic support, but 17 year old American citizens cannot go to a tanning booth and support the local economy OR pay the 10% tanning tax to the U.S. government. Isn't government efficient...NOT!
---
Seems the Online E-Edition of the L-E is more like its employees than first realized. not a very good Monday AM entity. It's slow, unresponsive, and shows up late and doesn't want to work.

Sunday, October 9, 2011

Lawrence O'Donnell accused Herman Cain of 'sitting on the sidelines' during the Civil Rights movement. What an idiot. Herman Cain obviously worked hard at attaining the dream the Civil Rights movement was about. It's the people still denying, still ignoring, still sitting on the sideline instead of getting on the dance floor who have missed the changes that have occurred in the past 60 years.

What's the difference between the City not wanting to release it's contract to the public with the lawyers, and Tony Adams not wanting the Nike contract being seen publicly?

Is it no less a crime for Council to not show its bosses (us) the contract, than it was for Tony Adams not to show his bosses (Council) the Nike contract?

Dang! Actually read on of Chitwood's columns and actually agreed with him all the way. Who says an old Chitwood can't learn new tricks. May even try to read him again sometime. On the other hand, I rarely watch SNF or MNF...too many women in the house.

---

Banks aren't the culprit regarding student loans for sociology diplomas.. in fact even colleges who charge 6 figures for a basic diploma in sociology aren't the culprits. Now, on the other hand, any student who would sign for loans of over $100,000.00 to get such a diploma are the victims only of themselves for thinking such a diploma has that much worth.

---

Trying to compare the super-railway to the interstate system is only something that liberals would consider being an apple-to-apple comparison. Other than getting to the Atlanta Airport a few minutes earlier (if the schedule fit your flight time requirements), once you get to Atlanta for other business, you are going to have to have local transportation, and that's not only going to be inconvenient, but costly as well compared to driving there on the I-State

---

L-E story: "Cairo - On her first day to school, 15-year-old Christian student Ferial Habib was stopped at the doorstep of her new high school with clear instructions: either put on a headscarf or no school this year." -- The sadder thing is that this could occur in this country. With school systems so adamant about letting Christian objects/thoughts be seen/heard in our schools, school systems go overboard to allowing other religions to practice on campuses.

---

You know, if the Occupy Wall Street movement actually had a message that everyday Americans sympathized with, that message alone would get public, thus media, attention. Instead, the protesters have to rely on being antagonistic towards the police, and breaking the laws of man and nature in order for cameras to show them on TV.

---

Now 'they' (using 'our' money)want to build a bridge from the UnderRiverWalk to the"rock island" in conjunction with the whitewater project. Excuse me, but with the damages constantly happening to the parallel running RiverWalk when ever we have floods, what chance of survival does a perpendicular walkway extending into the Chattahoochee have?

---

There's a zoning request to change the zoning at 6100 Green Island Drive from it's current empty lot status with no curb cut and a "Residential Office" zoning to a "Residential Multi-Family 2" zoning. Conditional approval has been given by the Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department. Have any of them looked at how adding a new high traffic project at the proximity of Green Island Drive and Cascade Road will effect the main (and basically only) exit to River Road for the majority of Green Island Hills residents?

Online headline: "Dems Look to Inflict Pain on GOP" - Yeah, why should the GOP be exempt from the pain the DIM&DUMBERats are inflicting on the rest of America as well as themselves?
---
From online story: "This season, Chef Kevin Lasko (of Park Avenue Autumn) and artist Michael Rakowitz have teamed up to serve patrons venison and date syrup, a noted Iraqi delicacy. The twist? The dish will be served on plates once owned by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein." -- Venison? How about "Chipped Pork Barbeque" instead for maximum effect?
---
L-E's "Quotable" : "Whether you think you can, or that you can't, you are usually right." - Henry Ford -- Now this is an adage that needs to be on the wall in every education class in college, in every K-12 classroom, and every teacher's lounge! It's all about attitude.
---
Solyndra.... Stupid Outlandish Loan Your National DIM&DUMBERats Raped America with.

When Juan Williams got fired from PBS/NPR for voicing his opinion, Fox News gave him a job. It must have been a plan from the git-go, as Juan Williams opinions are now worse than they were when he worked for and tried to please liberals.
---
Online headline: " U.S. Adds 103,000 New Jobs In September As Jobless Rate Stays At 9.1 Percent" -- There they go again... the figurers that is. While figures don't lie, liars figure a lot. The day before this number, there were 401,000 first time applocations for job loss benefits,

A couple of days ago, a Nobel Prize for physics was awarded to 3 men. They had been working on how the universe is expanding faster than any one else has figured out. They said the universe will eventually be devoid of light. They inferred that Algore is full of himself, and "green economics" is a farce. Neither the media or potUS O'Blather offered congratulations.

potUS O'Blather says the economy is sluggish because of uncertainty in Europe... ??? If there is any uncertainty causing economic sluggishness it is only because potUS O'Blather has told us he thinks Europe is better than America.
---
The "Buffet Rule" has actually been in effect since 1996..initiated by a Republican majority in both Houses of Congress when Clinton was President. Anyone who wanted to voluntarily pay more taxes could do so by sending money to the U.S Treasury Department. In these 15 years, only $26 Million has been voluntarily submitted, and I'll bet that none of the present day whiners have previously done so.
---
While I'm sure Eric Holder and potUS O'Blather are scrambling "fast & Furiously" since it has been revealed that e-mails show they knew about the arms scandal more than a year before they recently admitted, I'll bet the DOJ executive who has written off his vacation trips with his girlfriend is scrambling even 'faster' from his spouse who is more than 'furious'.
---
So potUS O'Blather has scheduled anoth bus tour for jobs. Of course, this time the media is skeptical, and have started a "name that tour" contest, including "the Running on Empty Express". I think we can do better. Here are some of my thoughts:L
"Going my way or the highway"
"Rode to Nowhere", "Plunder Road",
"Highway to My Way",
"Job Available - Bus Boy"
" Solyndra (Some old line you never dreamt about_

And you have to wonder who's actually driving the bus...potUS himself, a Secret Service agent, or an International Teamster...perhaps Jimmy Hoffa, Sr. Maybe even "the Hope and Change tour; I HOPE you still have CHANGE I can get from you".
---
potUS O'Blather's problem in creating private sector jobs is because he's never had to raise revenues by getting people to voluntarily to hand over money because they like his pruduct. Books George Soros bought in bulk do not count.
---
Online headline: "Head Of Solyndra Loan Program To Step Down" -- We can only hope that the first step is off a step off a solar panel on the roof of the White House.
---
Online headline: "Aztec Temple Platform Discovered In Mexico" -- Archaeologists are expressing hope of finding the burial tomb of the Aztyec Emperor who was ruling when Columbus landed and when the Spanish conquered the Aztecs. My guess is this is somewhat of a PR scam to arouse funding interest to keep the archaeologists working, because since the Spanish killed and cremated the Emperor, I doubt any gold icons would be buried. More than likely, any gold icons ended up on a Spanish ship back to Spain or ended up on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico.
---

In a L-E story regarding the Expedia lawsuit: "Assistant City Attorney Lucy T. Sheftall wrote in a letter to the attorney general. “We appreciate your interest in this matter, but we cannot put the taxpayers of Columbus at a disadvantage by releasing confidential attorney-client document to a person with a financial interest in the outcome of litigation.” --How is this a disadvantage to the taxpayers? The City of Columbus should only receive any taxes due plus any actual expenses the City has experienced, and since Council has eagerly defended its position as one that is based on the City not having any expenses, the only beneficiary of the suit is actually the lawyers. In addition, what the lawsuit claims could be more expediently handled in a criminal (versus civil) case by engaging the State Attorney General's office.
---
L-E headline: "Columbus officials urge Georgia lawmakers not to leave city off rail line" -- Columbus officials only see the potential of what any taxes will be brought in to the city coffers on transportation sales, but have no clue that the actual cost of running it will be a drain on state coffers thus being an negative impact for the citizens of Columbus.
---
One more time: Why are the figures used to reconstruct the Council and School Districts' borders 8,000 less than the recent U.S. Census report?
---
Hallelujah! We finally have a MCSD Board member other than Cathy Williams who gets it! SO for Rob Varner "told them, “We don’t represent schools. We represent citizens.” -- Amen!

If the MCSD wants to be "fair" then let the MCSD allow the homeowners' exemption for the City's portion be applied to the MCSD's portion.
---
To letter writer C.A "Brother Love" Hardmon: Since you are so sure of your facts, even though, at best, they are all hearsay and conjecture, then you should lead the push to have all the witnesses who have recanted their testimony (lied under oath) to be prosecuted for perjury, and seek criminal and civil action against them for 'wrongful death'. If you don't, then, you are nothing but a blowhard racist!
---
The latest first time unemployment application is 401,000. For 21 of the kast 25 weeks, that number has been over 400K. That means that in the last 6 months, over 10,000,000 people have lost their jobs, and will probably be drawing unemployment aid for the next 99 weeks. It's no laughing matter potUS O'Blather. You're throwing too many people under that Canadian bus you're out joyriding in.
---
Sign seen at the "Occupy Wall Street" protest in NYC: "Stop Spending My Future". Huih? That's a sign that needs to be paraded in front of the Capitol and the White House, and i would even carry it myself.
---
L-E's "Quotable" : "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." - Dr Martin Luther King, Jr" -- Hmmm., no wonder DIM&DUMBERats object to Republicans who use Dr King's quotes/.speeches when they are running for election against D&Ds.

Online story: "GOLDEN, Colo. — A man charged with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting and wounding of two eighth-graders at a Colorado middle school was found not guilty by reason of insanity Wednesday. * Eastwood was charged with a total of 15 crimes. Jurors found him not guilty by reason of insanity on all but one charge: possession of a weapon on school grounds, which carries a sentence of up to 1 1/2 years in prison." -- If the trial proved anything about insanity, it showed the jury was the guilty party.
---
From online story: "In "Making Our Democracy Work: A Judge's View," U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer shares insights gained from his 16 years on the nation's highest court. " -- No wonder SCOTUS Breyer is so liberal; he doesn't know our form of government is not a Democracy, but a Limited Republic!
---
Online headline: "GM Agrees With D-Wade—Stars Are Underpaid" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought Government Motors was trying to court NBA players into the union.

Hasn't the unbridled expansion/failure in the banking industry taught anybody anything about the pitfalls of meaningless expansion? Take the SEC for example; why do the powers that be think adding Texas A&M and Missouri will enhance the core of the SEC? With limited games that can be scheduled, many rivalries between existing schools will become alternate events, and the traditions will take a hit. Witness the division into East & West divisions, and how it has caused series to skip every two years. Can it be assured that, say UGA-AU not be interrupted by a 2 year absences when UGA schedules Missouri while AU plays Texas A&M on the traditional UGA-AU weekend. And how about inter-conference rivalries like UGA vs GA Tech?
---
Talk about revisionist history, Tiger Woods is now recovering from "serial adultry"; in a couple of years his fall will be described as 'excess practice putting".

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

Here's a Republican answer to the Occupy Wall Street whiners. Have rolling billboards circle the NYC protest site with a message saying "we will apply all the money recovered from potUS O'Blather's loan to Solyndra towards retiring 50% of your student loans".
---
barackobama.com's message for today calls for everyone to 'twitter' Republican Congressman. Guess that makes the DIM&DUMBERats the party of "Big Twits", or "DIM&DUMBer Twits"'
---
Documents have surfaced that show Eric Holder, head of our Department of Justice, show that Holder received updates on "Fast & Furious" in the summer of 2010, not the 2011 dates Holder has stated under oath. That's perjury....that is definitely not acceptable in his position, nor should it be acceptable any longer to potUS O'Blather.
---
From a WRBL-# story about the Auburn, AL Cemetery: "With the use of ground-penetrating radar conducted last year, approximately five more slave graves have been discovered at the north end of the six-acre cemetery, Norman said." -- How many Thou$and$ of dollars did Columbus spend doing the same thing on a mythical site near 6th Avenue without any discovery, and yet the property has been designated as an expensive park?
---
L-E story: "Three U.S. born scientists won the Nobel Prize in physics Tuesday for discovering that the universe is expanding at an accelerating pace, a stunning revelation that suggests the cosmos could be headed for a colder, bleaker future, nearly devoid of light." -- You know, this is probably due to Algore's hot-air ranting about global warming. Also, how embarrassing for potUS O'Blather for pushing solar panels as the energy source of the future...
---
The lawsuit filed against the City regarding a Parks&Rec firing reminds me of something: Have Adams and Porter finished their 'community service' sentences? Also, what exactly did they do as 'community service'?
---
L-E headline: "Hank apologizes for Hitler-Obama analogy" -- I saw that sequence... Fox was embarrassed as I was for Hank, Jr's complete session on Fox. As for his apology, it's probably more like he regrets the effect it will have on his career more than anything else. Must have been "5:00" wherever Hank was.
---
From the "suspicions confirmed" department - L-E headline: "Chicago - Rosie O'Donnell gets her wish: Russell Brand will be her first guest on her new (Oprah Winfrey Network) show." -- This sorta like having one wish from a Genie, and asking the Genie for a Yugo instead of a Rolls Royce. To quote Forrest Gump, "Stupid is as stupid does".

Yesterday, I had a rare, as well as first time, experience. A fervent, last minute invitation to a legal system annual ritual revealed another side of that system. I witnessed an amoral driven body expose itself to honesty and emotion usually absent from a court venue. I felt honored to be there in support of each member, past and present.
---
Politicos are scratching their heads about getting the economy moving since potUS O'Blather's 'plan' isn't working. Guess the key would be for potUS O'Blather to lead by example by working on something else other than golf or campaigning.
---
Robert Johnson, BET founder, is a perfect example of an oxymoron. How can one person support lower corporate tax reform and potUS O'Blather at the same time?
---
3,895.... this is just a number, but it's the total number of the much ballyhooed Chevy "Volt" Government Motors has poured its efforts into to reviving itself. Maybe a name change will help...perhaps "Solyndra" since it's THE hot name of government efficiency as a business partner, and it's suddenly available.
---
The Big City Club....Just another reason the Friday concert night promotion known as "Bar Crawl" needs to be tempered with reality. Perhaps something like "BAND Night" would be a tad more acceptable for children to see when they are with their parents on such Friday evenings.
---
Seems like the Charter Review Commission is adding more politics to the every day functioning of the City. Putting non-elected department heads on the chopping block every 4 years is tantamount to creating an hierarchy of sycophants to whomever is Mayor. What the Charter Review Commission should be doing is making the job of internal city auditor one of the securest jobs within the city.
---
From "the suspicions confirmed" department - L-E story: "Stockholm - A pioneering researcher was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine Monday, three days after dying of pancreatic cancer without ever knowing he was about to be honored for his immune system work that he had used to try to prolong his own life" -- Now we know how potUS O'Blather was given the Nobel Peace Prize, which by now is even more embarrassing than the award to the dead guy.
---
Ooops, the prosperity balloon has burst. The L-E Foreclosure Section is back to 10 pages.

Online headline: "Dick And Liz Cheney: Obama Owes Bush Administration An Apology" -- Yeah, and I'm sure that will be forthcoming....right after he apologizes to American taxpaying citizens for what he's done for our children's future.

Online headline: "New NPR CEO Hopes To 'Depoliticize' Public Radio Debate" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought he was announcing its closing.

Random thought from a fellow BCer with military expertise: "Watching FOX news Sunday. They are debating Anwar all Has (al-Qaeda leader killed in Yemen) and whether or not we had the authority to kill him because he is a US citizen. Some say that our government doesn't have the right to kill an enemy combatant leader because of his 5th amendment rights as a US citizen (Ron Paul). Wonder if they ever had this debate during WWII when US citizens left the united states to fight for Nazi Germany. Just my thoughts...
---
According to White House spokesmouth, Jay Carney, he thinks all White House trips of George Kaiser's (main investor of Solyndra) visits to the West Wing were for 'charity'... Yeah, his own!
---
Speaking of Jay Carney...who'd have expected potUS O'Blather couldn't improve over Robert Gibbs? Then again, he may have for his purposes.
---
No wonder the main stream media poh-poohs the idea that potUS O'Blather is a socialist/Marxist; the main stream media considered American-Muslin terrorist al-Awlaki a moderate.
---
One of the Occupy Wall Street protesters was carrying a sign that read, " Equal Taxes For All!". Wait a minute, who can argue about that!
---
From a quote site: "Do you know the difference between education and experience? Education is when you read the fine print; experience is what you get when you don't."

L-E headline: "10 percent of parents ship, delay kids' shots" -- If this information is compilable and documented, cannot, should not, information be extracted comparing the occurrence of autism in these children versus the mainstream?

From L-E's "Late Laughs": "The International Labor Organization says the global economy is facing a major jobs shortfall. Don't blame us - we've been sending you our jobs for the last 20 years. - Jay Leno" -- You have to laugh to keep from crying....

Occupy Wall Street's main gripe is the high cost of education/student loans. What the students should be complaining about is how inadequately prepared they were when they finished high school to be able to analyze what such debt would entail in order to pay it back, and being able to sign for such debt without any collateral or job guarantee at their age.
---
Paid $3.199 cents a gallon for gas yesterday. Also figured that if you deducted the $ .184 Federal tax per gallon, and the $ .075 GA tax per gallon and the 7% state & local sales taxes, the gas was "only" $2.75 per gallon. That also mean that $ .45 per gallon is taxes we pay which is an over 16% income tax going into government coffers straight from our pockets. The governments make more per gallon than the manufacturer and retailer combined!
---
Requiring everyone to acquire health insurance guarantees three things: Those who comply will be at the mercy of those who provide coverage; those who provide medical services will not have to worry about holding down costs; and those who don't comply will still add costs at a higher rate to those who do.

Bill O'Reilly is only 62? Even with the magic of TV studio make-up artists, I thought he was up in his 70s...

This will be an oft inclusion of the Breakfast Club: Diane Schneider, a representative with the National Education Association (NEA), said that graphic sex education needs to be taught in the classroom. * "She said that 'gender identity expression' and sexual orientation are a spectrum, and...that those [who are] opposed to homosexuality are stuck -- quote -- 'in a binary box that religion and family create.' -- This should be sent to every teacher in every school district, and they should be asked to either endorse it, demand Ms Schneider be fired, or drop their NEA membership.

In response to the outrage of a government worker paying $16.00 for a 'muffin'. Hilton Hotel issued a statement that it wasn't just a 'muffin', it was for a 'full continental breakfast'. Hilton's point? Would you order or let your employees pay $16.00 for a muffin and coffee?
---
Online headline: "California To Quit Foreclosure Settlement Talks " -- Ooops, my bad. Thought California was in denial about being bankrupt...well fiscally...it's been morally bankrupt for decades.
---
Why are the Wall Street protesters on Wall Street protesting their high student loans? It's the colleges and universities that have jacked up the prices. The protesters should be at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue complaining to potUS O'Blather and the Secretary of Education.
---
Finally found a fitting campaign slogan for potUS O'Blather: "FORE...more beers. For more beers. Four more beers."
---
While I think the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program is wonderful, one cannot help but notice that it's holding its big recruitment campaign during 'happy hour' time at 3 drinking spas. Wouldn't it send a better message if the sessions were held in churches or other non-drinking locations?
---
Oh, yesterday's barackobama.com re-election e-missive came from "Don't mess with Joe" himself. VPOTUS Biden said, "This has never been about Barack and me. We're just two guys. It's folks like you out there who will decide this election." -- They just don't get it! It is about them, and our votes in November 2012 will decide.
---
You know, main stream media is harping at potUS O'Blather's decision to wipe out Al-Awlaki because al-Awlaki was an American.... Yeah, an American who has betrayed America. Why can't the main stream media get upset with potUS O'Blather for the things he's done to destroy America rather than being upset for one of the few things he done to help America?
---
L-E story: "Tripoli, Libya - Human Rights Watch called on Libya's new rulers to stop armed groups from rounding up Moammar Gadhafi supporters and abusing them.." -- The more things change, the more they stay the same in Muslim countries. Why would any Human Rights Watch member ever think differently?
---
You know, if there was an organization giving out scholarships to 'whites only', even most whites would find this objectionable. In fact, there'd be lawsuits filed upon the announcement that such an organization existed. The sad thing is that when you exclude any segment from competing, the 'winners' never know if they are actually the best.
---
Income down and prices up... and in O'Blatherland, the report is "All's well." Pinocchio's nose would look normal in Washington.

Jimmy Carter is 87 today. I thought he was much older.. sorta like dinosaur aged like his ideas of how to run a government.
