Beavis and Butthead..you decide:

---
Online headline: "President Obama Asks Tim Geithner To Remain U.S. Treasury Secretary" -- Reminds me of the Clinton-Reno situation. Clinton 'asked' Reno to stay on after Waco because he could afford to have her running around the country on a speaking tour as a 'loose cannon'. I'm sure potUS O'Blather feels the same about Geithner.Have you noticed...the FAA is running on a skeleton crew, and taxpayers are saving $100's of millions of tax dollars, and no planes have crashed, and planes are pretty much on schedule as before. Hmmm, is shutting down the FAA revealing basic government 'over management' of taxpayers' concerns?
---
Online headline/story: "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Announces Deal To End FAA Shutdown * The temporary resolution means about 4,000 FAA workers and 70,000 construction workers can get back to work after going nearly two weeks without pay. The federal government has lost about $360 million in tax revenue on airline tickets because of the standoff." -- "The federal government has lost about $360 million in tax revenue on airline tickets"...proof positive that the federal government 'feels' your money is its money! No money has been "lost"; it just stayed in the pockets of those who earned it.
---
L-E story: "With the U.S. stock market plunging to extreme levels Thursday, companies headquartered in Columbus swirled down with it." -- Looks like potUS O'Blather got his birthday wish. He huffed and puffed and blew down the candles and hope of recovery.
---
The reason we can't get out of this 'economic hole' is because DUMB&DUMBERats feel digging it deeper is a 'shovel ready' job they's created.
---
From L-E's story on Expedia: "Wally Walker, a Columbus attorney who represents the city. “We believe the filing is frivolous.” -- Walker does not represent the City; he represent the Mayor's old law firm.
---
Pertinent comment from a fellow BCer: "The business manager of my company always included employee bonding in our insurance package. * The premium is so cheap it would mismanagement not to have had it. * Certainly the top management of Columbus bonded all employees who have access to property or cash. Since the criminal theft from parks and rec is a matter of legal record why has
no claim for that amount of money been made? * And if the employees of a two hundred million dollar income city are not bonded, certainly there must be an errors and omissions bond on senior management. * And if there are no bonds, why not? * And this is a good question to ask the school board. Bet they have it covered. -- My addendum: The City's response will be that it considers itself "self-insured" like it does for liability et al, but is it? It only works when payout is less than what would be any premiums.
---
I'm going to have to rethink my current name for the President. While 'potUS O'Blather' does cover his 'Irish drivel', is it as accurate as 'potUS Oblabber" ?
---
Oh...after 2 and 1/2 years, potUS O'Blather is going on a "listening tour"... DOH? Wasn't he 'listening' to the election results last November? Why hasn't he 'listened' since then? Why isn't he "listening' right now? Oh, and guess what, "we" will get to pay for this while he conducts fund raiser dinners in the tour cities.
---
Typical lib "soundoff" : "Neither the President nor the Democrats nor the Republicans got what they preferred, which is a good deal. It’s called “compromise.” -- You know, it takes all kinds to make this world work, but it would be a lot less work for all if this guy didn't exist. If he doesn't get exactly what he feels is best for him, then he's happy if the rest of the world doesn't get what is actually best for everyone. Compromise is simply not addressing the problem with a real solution.
---
L-E's "Quotable": “Education is all a matter of building bridges.” - Ralph Ellison American author (1914-1994) -- Not quite...do you really want to cross any bridges built by recently "educated" people?
---
From L-E 'letter": "Many citizens believe that the color of the top management involved in these cases and the old boy network keep them off the front page of the news. African Americans need to stop repeated, unnecessary abuse of them by voting more selectively. Reginald L. Pugh President and CEO Urban League of Greater Columbus" -- "voting more selectively"? How much more 'selectively' can the black bloc vote be? I don't believe the black bloc vote cast its lot for Zeph Baker in the runoff, so the black bloc vote has no room to complain about who is the mayor.
---
So long, Jerry Lewis...you have made a difference. God bless you!
---
L-E story: "NEW YORK — Bank of New York Mellon Corp. said Thursday that it will charge its customers a fee to hold cash deposits over $50 million. * The bank said it has seen such a large increase in deposits over the last month that it will charge a 0.13 percent fee to clients with “extraordinary high deposit levels.” Bank of New York Mellon, which has $23.6 trillion in client assets under its custody, said customers have moved money to cash as a safe haven . " -- Hmmm, wonder which DUMB&DUMBERats came up with this new banking regulation? With interest being paid for cash deposits being negligible, charging to hold it is insane! I'll bet Dodd and Frank were involved.
---
Gov Mike Huckabee has coined a new phrase for the most liberal of TV networks... BSNBC.
---
Have you noticed how few tropical storms we've had this year in the Atlantic?Gulf regions? Must be 'global warming'.
---
When I upgraded (questionable, at best) to Windows 7, most of my old MS software doesn't work with it. Just bought a newr MS Office version which consists on a single DVD disk for an astronomical price (especially since I had already paid for the version that doesn't work with Windows 7), but I noticed something really disturbing about the new software. It was marked "Made in Puerto Rico". Give us a break Mr Gates..how much can you be saving by outsourcing the copying of software to a single DVD disk to Puerto Rico instead of doing so here in the USA?
