Update on BCer Sam Rawls:
Sunday Evening
I'm not sure if prayers work better on Sunday or we just got a group prayer power surge today but it was a very good day. Sam was taken off one of the blood pressure drugs that is the most dangerous to stay on too long. Very good news indeed and all of his vital signs are stable and improving without it so even better news. If we can keep this trend up for another couple of days we can try to wake him up again but his color is better and Mom is very encouraged today. Most of his regular doctors were off for the weekend but their partners were just as good so Mom is looking forward to talking to his regular doctors tomorrow morning. Been a great day but a long one as well so I will do another update in the morning.

Online headline/story: "Justin Bieber's 'U Smile' Wins Best Male Video -- MTV VMAs 2011 * Justin beats out Cee Lo Green's 'F--- You,' Eminim and Rihanna's 'Love the Way You Lie,' Bruno Mars' 'Grenade'..." -- And it's a good thing! No self respecting newspaper, TV news, or magazine would print/speak the title of the othe nominees.
---
Associated with above headline: "Britney Wins Michael Jackson Award" -- What was this one for...former entertainers who are no longer bookable?
---
From L-E story: "A huge upsurge in Hispanic population growth helped net Georgia the extra congressional seat, but many of them are not eligible to vote and feel their voices were not heard in the redistricting process. This rankles Hispanic voting rights advocates." -- Rankles advocates of Hispanic voting rights? How can this matter to the 'rankle' of American citizens who legally live here and get their vote via provisions of our Constitution?
---
The Little League World Series...California wins 2-1 over Japan with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the sixth. Brent Musburger said 'What a game. You couldn't have asked for more." WRONG! I would have asked for ABC to get Brent Musburger out of the announcer's box, and it would have been a much better game. Musburger considers it all about him.

One thing Hurricane Irene is revealing is the obvious political graft/idiocy of cities with low or island areas. Who, without some sort of favor, would grant a permit to build a basement under a house on such property?
---
Leonard Steinhorn, an American University communication professor said it was 'undignified' for potUS O'Blather to have to provide a birth certificate, and for voters to have to provide identification at the polls. Why are colleges allowed to hire professors who have no knowledge of our Constitution and it's specified requirements of holding/running for a political office or becoming a voter?
---
There's a birth control company's TV ad saying its product "does not protect against HIV or other STDs". How irresponsible is it for that company to cavalierly group HIV as just another STD?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “The man who can speak acceptably is usually given credit for an ability out of all proportion to what he really possesses.” — Lowell Thomas, broadcaster and world traveller (Born 1892, died this date in 1981). " -- Wow! Lowell Thomas was a real prophet. He saw the coming of "the one" well before "the one" was probably born. Bet potUS O'Blather has a copy of this quote taped to the mirror where he shaves each day.

It's an absolute shame that a business consultant for the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center lives in Alabama. Looking at the recent housing market figures, one can surmise that both of out tax assessing authorities, 'the city' and the MCSD, are in for some more belt tightening.
