Thursday Evening
Hello All,
Update time for T. Sam:
Today was another good day as Sam has graduated to the 50/50 club. Considering that on Saturday before his surgery he was in the 5/95 club we think he has come a very long way in a very short time. The doctors came in this morning with no bad news at all and one of them even smiled. I know some of you are doctors and this guy is very very good but he doesn't smile unless he has something to smile about. We have not made a great deal of progress today but we have not had any setbacks either. At this stage no setbacks are the name of the game. Sam has had his medicines reduced throughout the day and while he has help with his breathing from the ventilator his lungs are in really good shape and he is helping the machine as much as it is helping him. The doctors have reduced the medication that is keeping him in a twilight state and as they put it they want to see who's home when he wakes up. This can take anywhere from 24 to 36 hours and so far they have not gotten a lot of response but that is to be expected and they are not concerned at this point.I'm pretty sure when he does wake up they are going to find out exactly who is home.Jacquie is reading all of your guest book messages to Sam and we have printed them for Sam to read when he is better. I want to thank all of you for your well wishes and prayers and I truly believe they are helping. Jacquie is doing well and is encouraged by the reports from the doctors. This hospital is spotless but she is snoodling around in the waiting room while we wait to go in and see Sam. Special thanks Candy W. for occupying her time for the last few days and to AJ Jain for making a special trip down to Savannah to bring her some clothes and her vitamins. All of you mean the world to Sam and Jacquie and now by extension to Janet and me. While we are not making leaps and bounds on the road to recovery someone reminded me about Dad's favorite saying. "Life by the mile is a trial but Life by the inch is a cinch" we are trying to go an inch at a time right now. God Bless All of You!

Online headline: "More Cracks Found In Washington Monument After Quake" -- Ooops, thought maybe one of the liberal DIM&DUMBERat caucus groups had taken shelter.

Online headline repeat: "More Cracks Found In Washington Monument After Quake" -- Ooops, again, thought maybe George Washington had rolled over in his grave at what's happening in his town.

Online headline: "Somalia Famine: African Leaders Pledge $380 Million In Aid " -- Yeah, as soon as they receive bigger amounts from the US.

No wonder the economy is floundering under this President and Congress. Only 8% of Congress have any kind of business/economic education, and most have PolySci/Law/Humanities degrees learned from liberal professors.

In 2008, candidate O'Blather criticized Bush43 as being 'unpatriotic' for adding $43 Trillion dollars to the National Debt over 8 years. Hmmm, does that make potUS O'Blather even more unpatriotic for adding another $4 Trillion in less than 2.5 years, OR does it make him very patriotic to the Muslim world?

NYC Mayor Bloomberg has approved a Mosque to be built at Ground Zero, yet has excluded all religious leaders from the invitation list to the 10 year Memorial event next month.

The federal government has just developed regulations for goat herd owners to cover goat herders they hire. Not only is this another "b-a-a-d-d-d" move by government, it's a perfect example of extreme "nannyism".

A known illegal alien just killed a 6 year old boy in a hit&run case while DUI.If Massachusetts had enforced the existing laws concerning illegal aliens, the man would have been deported years ago, and a 6 year old would be bringing joy to his parents et al.

Special thanks go to Richard Hyatt today for revealing the principals of Alpine Apartment Project. Numerous attempts to have ANY member of Council to do the same have been met with stonewalling and muttering. You could just feel the political vibes involved.

Talk about aging overnight...Macauley Calkin...the kid in "Home Alone" is 31 today.
