Online story: "HAVANA, Cuba — Fidel Castro mocked President Barack Obama on Thursday for saying he's open to changing U.S. policy toward Cuba if there is change on the island first, calling the U.S. leader "stupid." -- Guess potUS O'Blather will have to 'create' a new job for the response..hiring Pee-wee Herman to deliver his "I know you are, but what am I?" line.
---
Personally, I do not think potUS O'Blather is 'stupid'; he's uninformed, misinformed, a misguided attempt at reform. Now, anyone donating to or planning to vote for his re-election is stupid in my book.

L-E story: "A grand jury has indicted a Russell County High School teacher and daughter of the school board president on a misdemeanor charge of sending a student “obscene material,” said Sheriff Heath Taylor. * (Abby Jeanne Mitchell) Bundrick, 25, is on administrative leave with pay, according to school Board attorney Sydney Smith, who said Bundrick has been on leave since district administrators learned of the allegations at the end of the last school term. * Under the circumstances of nepotism, why is she being paid? Normal policy or not, she should refuse such compensation.

L-E story: "In a move to consolidate the battle labs of the infantry and armor, the Directorate of Capabilities Development and Integration will break ground today on a $30 million Maneuver Battle Lab simulations facility at Fort Benning. * The 88,000-square-foot building will feature a 200-person classroom, multiple large and small simulation bays that can be reconfigured for simulation experiments." -- Why is it the Army can build a bigger and more high tech facility for less than the MCSD built its smaller Taj Mahal office building?
---
It may take historians a while to evaluate whether the biggest economic 'fizzle' was Barack or BRAC, there's no doubt Columbus is better off with BRAC than Barack.

From barackobama.com: "From the beginning, we've refused to take money from D.C. lobbyists and corporate special interests. Our operation is fueled by people inspiring each other to take ownership of this campaign." -- Oh, Solyndra's George Kaiser, and Nancy Pelosi's brother-in-law aren't corporate special interest lobbyists?
---
Now we have a DIM&DUMBERat US Congressman proclaiming that potUS O'Blather should 'revoke the 14th Amendment to our Constitution" by 'executive order'. What an idiot! The only way he was even elected was based on provisions documented by our Constitution. Does the Congressman want to president to be able to revoke his election by executive order?

Among others, Senator Lindsey Graham is in Libya, and made the comment that now all Libyans can live with peace and dignity. Excuse me, but name me any country under Muslim rule that offers peace and dignity for all...

Senators Graham and McCain need to learn and accept something, and the sooner the better. They are RINOs and today's conservative movement is not about them.

By law, the GA Secretary of State has until December to set 2012 Primary election dates, yet the Republican Party (and mind you, the D&Ds would demand the same if the incumbent was not a DIM&DUMBERat, these are private corporations in themselves) want him to set the date by Saturday, and if he doesn't set the date for Mar 6th (Super Tuesday), the Republican Party says it will strip the states of its delegates if they run a primary earlier. Wait a minute! We taxpayers are paying for these private party primaries (and there will be a D&D primary for other offices). I think it's about time the Parties start carrying the financial burden of these primary elections.

Online headline/story: "St. Louis, Missouri Public School Principal Faked Attendance Records, Audit Shows * By last year, the 270-student school had risen to the top of the list for high attendance among St. Louis elementary schools -- with a reported attendance rate of 97.3 percent. That attendance figure increased more than 12 percent in the time that Veal was at the school between 2007 and 2010 * The inflated records could have helped the school meet Adequate Yearly Progress requirements mandated by the federal No Child Left Behind act, and could have earned the school more funding -- but there's no way to be sure with a weak computer program and missing files. The district can receive about $20 per student per day in state funding, according to figures by the Federal Education Budget Project." -- ??? $20.00 per day state funds? Hmmm $20.00 times 180 schooldays equals $3,600.00 annually per student. How does that compare to MCSD? Hmm, from a 2008 MCSD website (Muscogee County School District | Columbus, GA | Education.com ), MCSD spent $9,994.00 per pupil. BTW, in 2008, a private school we used had a tuition of about $5,500.00 per student.

Despite participation by the potUS O'Blather administration, Alabama's new illegal immigration law pretty much withstood a court challenge. My questions are: What part of 'illegal alien' doesn't the O'Blather team see as 'illegal'?, and What part of the 10th Amendment of our Constitution do they not understand?

From the 'something's not right' department - L-E story: "With 11 of its 17 members present, the commission redrawing the boundaries of Columbus’ eight council districts voted Wednesday to adopt a computer-generated map that brings each district close to the optimum population of 22,740, plus or minus 5 percent. * The optimum number of 22,740 comes from dividing the city’s 181,917 residents by the eight districts." -- The 2010 Census pegged Columbus with 189,885 Columbusites.... Hmmm, one of two things must have happened: Either the ACORN recruiters were hired to take the Census count, or the Census used the DIM&DUMBERat's eligible voter list which included a cemetery or two.

Another 'thanks' to a fellow BCer:
potUS O'Blather had an itinerary printed out to highlight his campaign tour to Colorado, California, and Washington. Only trouble is that his propaganda highlighted Wyoming instead of Colorado.

If Bill Clinton wants to pay more taxes, he can do more by dropping the taxpayer load of paying for his retirement perks and Secret Service protection. Not only does the government pay for all that, the government actually pays (at last mention several years ago) $10,000.00 per month in rent for the Secret Service agents to 'live' in the 'dorm' at the Clinton's mansion.

A letter writer points out whether or not a planned new Middle School actually needs to be built based on the lack of growth in student number and the lack of impact by BRAC. This is a valid question that needs to be addressed promptly and publicly by the MCSD Board. This matter, and all the other projects that were to be funded by the 'pie-in-the-sky' projections of revenues to be generated by the most recent SPLOST need to be revisited with the emphasis on what will actually be generated since the SPLOST time frame for collections has passed it's half-way mark.

The only containment for the high cost of healthcare and health insurance will be when hospitals/doctors deal only with the patient as to what services cost, and insurance companies only deal with the patients as well. Health service providers will only get competitive when they have to deal with economic situations in the communities where they are located. Too many service prices are based on what the market will bear in the highest cost area of the country, and then the prices are inflated to receive the real costs after the 40-55% discounts are given to insurance providers.

Online headline/story: "Senate Turns To Plan B After Voting Down First Funding Bill
it is very clear that this is the right way to go," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said on the floor. * "It shows us we don't need to focus on 2011 funding. … This compromise should satisfy Republicans because it includes the 2012 FEMA funding, and it should be a win for Democrats because it does not include offsets." -- This dots the "i" and crosses the 't' on what's wrong with DIM&DUMBERat processing of what's right for America. Online story concerning Joshua Fattal and Shane Bauer and their release from Iran: Fattal said, "From the very start, the only reason we have been held hostage is because we are American," Fattal said at a news conference at a Manhattan hotel. "Iran has always tied our case to its political disputes with the U.S. * The irony of it all, Bauer said, "is that Sarah, Josh and I oppose U.S. policies towards Iran which perpetuate this hostility." -- No, the irony of it all is that 3 (counting the girl) were stupid to begin with for being there, and are even more stupid about their politics, and they have found out 1st hand that Iran no more likes them or respects their politics than it does for potUS O'Blather

Until 2009, America was the "HOPE" of the world; if you can say nothing else about potUS O'Blather and the DIM&DUMBERats of the day, they did "CHANGE" that. How's "HOPE & CHANGE" working for you now?

Here we go again...DIM&DUMBERats are voting against the pending "continuous resolution" to keep the government from shutting down. If the proponents aren't taking that route, ythen they should stop any other actions.

L-E's "Quotable": "You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality." -- Now here's a truth that potUS O'Blather needs to have scrolling on his TelePrompters, and emblazoned on every one of his re-election advertisings!

MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts said, "I get out of all of these things that many of these ( Republican) candidates would rather take legislation to build a time machine and go back in time to where we had no women voting, slavery was cool," -- well, mr Roberts, it might be very symbolic you feel that way, since Republicans freed the slaves then, and are needed again to free those enslaved by government welfare programs of today. Other than that, why is this man still holding a microphone?

If proponents of ending GA's death penalty are doing so out of the Troy Davis situation, then let them start by filing criminal and civil lawsuits against the witnesses who swore under oath that Davis was the one, but now recant their testimony. If there are any teeth to what they claim now, then there are perjury crimes, and an unlawful death charge they should be accountable for. If the proponents aren't taking that route, ythen they should stop any other actions.

I think the whitewater project is wonderful, but do have to wonder if creating enhanced rapids (versus what was naturally there before the various dams controlled the flow) is somewhat defeating the goal of restoring the Chattahoochee to it old ecosystem.

L-E's "Thought for Today": "It is as fatal as it is cowardly to blink (at) facts because they are not to our taste. -- John Tyndall, English physicist (1820-1893) -- Hmmm.. looks like we have a visionary who foresaw the evolution to 'political correctness' and the formation of CNN, MSNBC, MoveON.org, and the ACLU.

L-E's "Quotable": "You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality." -- Now here's a truth that potUS O'Blather needs to have scrolling on his TelePrompters, and emblazoned on every one of his re-election advertisings!

Online headline/story: "Bill Gates To G20: Financial Transaction Tax Could Raise Aid For Poorer Nations * The Gates report supports the thorny issue of a financial transaction tax as a way of raising "substantial resources" for developing countries. It suggests even a small tax of 10 basis points on equities and 2 basis points on bonds would raise about $48 billion among G20 member states, or $9 billion if only adopted by larger European countries." -- Well, Mr Gates, since the latest Forbes scorecard has you at $59 BILLION, why don't you just alleviate your personal guilt and donate $48 Billion yourself?
---
L-E story: "ATLANTA -- A review of records shows that a project to add toll lanes to Interstate 85 in metro Atlanta will make traffic congestion worse for drivers in the regular lanes. * State Road and Tollway Authority Director Gena Evans said the toll project will give drivers another option if they’re willing to pay the tolls." -- Sounds like "Animal Farm" coming to fruition. All animals are equal but some are more equal than others. Wanna bet that State Reps and Sens get access as a perk? Hmmm, Gena Evans....wasn't that the one that got removed from the DOT for internal hanky-panky?
Guess monogamy is not enough for her, so she's insatiably going after everyone else.

All those "flat tax advocates for a 20+% consumption tax don't seem to realize that most states already have consumption taxes and not all states are the same. If Congress thinks a 20+% consumption tax will be voluntarily paid and reported by the underground drug economy, then we need a whole new slate of Congresspersons.

Why is it that Conservatives support Israel and Liberals support Palestine, yet the Jewish community overwhelmingly supports the DIM&DUMBERats?

SOLYNDRA executives are now pleading the 5th Amendment to the Congressional inquiry. I have a feeling that pleading the 5th will be the campaign strategy of potUS O'Blather's and every Congressional DIM&DUMBERat candidate in 2012.

L-E headline: "ACLU: Town cannot impose church sentences" -- In short, Bay Minette, AL is planning to start a program giving misdemeanor convicts an option of jail time or attending church for 52 straight Sundays (and having their cases dismissed). The ACLU is going to try and stop it because the ACLU contends the sentencing program "flagrantly" violates the Constitution. Lets see, a local court wants to have a positive alternative to handle cases in a way that doesn't ruin individuals and their families lives, and at the same time reduces the costs of crime to its taxpayers, and the ACLU thinks that's bad? How about the ACLU putting its money where its mouth is and be responsible for the costs of keeping those misdemeanor criminals in jail and picking up the financial burden of the families of such, if the ACLU files a case against the program.

"Riverblast"?....more like "RiverBLAH" There was a lot of excitement on the banks of the Chattahoochee yesterday morning, but what should have been the finale "blast" was a 'dud'. The crowd left pretty disappointed at what should have been thrust to the goal line.

It wasn't coincidence that Al Sharpton and Edward Dubose and Amnesty International were protesting the execution of Troy Davis, but had nary a word of opposition to Lawrence Brewer's execution. Hypocrites! I supported both the executions!

If a witness in a death sentence recants his/her sworn testimony years after a trial, then the convicted's family should file a criminal and civil lawsuit for 'wrongful death'.

Online story: "The Rev. Al Sharpton, who visited Davis on death row, said he will push for a national ban on capital punishment in cases that rely on eyewitness testimony. Maryland passed such a law in 2009." -- Brilliant Al...Guess it will up to the victim to arrange ahead of time for some teenager to be present and use his/her iPhone to video the crime and post it on YouTube or FaceBook.

From a L-E story: "“I feel that he (Troy Davis) was not proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and that’s all you need,” Sharpton told the Ledger-Enquirer." -- Not only more non-brilliance (if a jury found reasonable doubt, the jury would have found him not guilty for that reason) from Reverend Al, but now he thinks he should be judge. jury, and Board of Parole and Pardons panel. May as well throw in Police Commissioner too.

I feel sure the transition at the Muscogee County Jail will survive, but why wasn't there a person within the system ready to take over for a retirement situation? A private company with a $7 Million dollar plus budget would have someone ready to step up. Why don't our City/County, and School System have such a plan for transition in force?

A wide majority of Americans who have heard about the Jobs Act want to see it passed right away." -- Not even a narrow majority of DIM&DUMBERats believe either aspect of this statement.

Online story: "CERN reported that a neutrino beam fired from a particle accelerator near Geneva to a lab 454 miles (730 kilometers) away in Italy traveled 60 nanoseconds faster than the speed of light." -- If true, how could it be seen at the finish line since it would have been absolute dark since it got there before the light? Of course, if William Shatner had stated this, there would have been some credibility since he has already shown us "warp speed".

I need to tweak a comment I made yesterday. Yesterday, I referred to potUS O'Blather as "Debt man walking". On further consideration, "Debt man talking" is more accurate.

The two American hikers who were arrested in Iran are out on anonymous bail of $500,000.00 each. Only an uber liberal would consider returning to Iran for the court hearing, but which super-liberal would write off $1,000,000.00 of his/her own money? I have to think that somehow, we are going to lose that bail money. Perhaps, we should hire Dog, the Bounty Hunter to take them back.

X-POTUS Clinton says the Republican candidates for 2012 are embarrassing the US by their stance on Global Warming. Excuse me, but the worst embarrassment a Presidential candidate (for a 2nd term) ever brought on pour nation was his Oval Office stance in front of Monica Lewinski.

Riding down 2nd Avenue, beginning about 30th St and going down to 20th St, the road has been resurfaced, patched, re-patched, and re-re-patched. For a brief period, the old brick surface re-surfaced. What this obviously indicates is that 2nd Avenue is not able to handle heavyweight vehicles, yet there is a steady stream of loaded dump trucks that use the J R Allen Parkway to access 2nd Avenue each day to get to 15th St before they reroute to Veterans Parkway to get to South Columbus sites. Council needs to immediately limit the use of heavy vehicles on 2nd Avenue. Perhaps making all such heavyweight trucks coming from the quarries use only Veterans Parkway to get to Southern destinations will alleviate the constant damage of a major thoroughfare.

Liberal politicians rail about the 'rich' paying their "fair share" but what the liberal politicians don't talk about is how much the 'rich' make in charitable donations to fund more efficient non-government efforts to bring support to the poor and needy and desperate in addition to the taxes paid. What we NEED is a LAW that says before anyone complains about what anyone else pays in taxes, the complainer must publish his/her own tax return and publish what he/she and his/her targets give to charity. Me thinks there will be less complaining by politicos.

DIM&DUMBERats just had a hand in defeating a spending bill...Wow...you'd think that D&Ds voting AGAINST spending money is a big deal....that is until you READ the bill. The bill was going to cut $1.5 BILLION dollars from a government loan program "to help companies build fuel efficient cars". You would think the SOLYNDRA scam would have an effect on D&Ds, but obviiously D&Ds could care less about wasting another $1.5 BILLION if it might make unions madder. Besides, when companies build fuel efficient cars that consumers want, then consumers will buy them, and companies will flourish.

Miss Sorich chose this response to publish in the L-E: "So long as each state offers free and easy access to the necessary forms of identification, then I have no problem with requiring ID at the ballot box." -- The purpose of a government issued ID is that it be verifiably valid and proof of a person' identity. Free and easy access to forms will not insure that. Maybe Miss Sorich and the answerer would like ACORN to distribute such forms, or maybe there should be ID form boxes placed in Mexico along the border so illegal aliens can have them filled out before applying for US social services.

Went by one of those corner drug emporiums to buy some medicine yesterday AM, and was treated to an bit of unintended humor (and truth) by the pharmacist. He was wearing one of the iconic medicine smocks that had been pressed with a fold in the fabric where his title was monogrammed. It wouldn't necessarily read the same from all angles, but from where I stood, Pharmacist was truncated to look like "Phaacist". Phonetically, that sums up the DIM&DUMBERat concept of our medical industry.

Thanks to a fellow BCer, I just learned that it took 4 full time employees at about $18.00 an hour to man the East Wing access at the government center. That's a big part of the waste factor in City Government. No public sector operation would have more than 2 full-time and 1 or 2 part time employees to man that for weekday only access, and probably for quite a bit less per man hour.

Noted the L-E story on reconstructing the Bike Trail at Slade & Warm Springs Rd "for safety reasons" (Of course, this 'rework' will have to be 'reworked' again when Warm Springs is widened). If "safety reasons" are the issue, then the City and State should make Bike Trail users to take a licensing course on the proper handling and use of a bicycle on the streets in Columbus and GA. Most do not know that their bicycles are under the basic rules of an automobile, and that includes not riding their bikes (or cars for that matter) on sidewalks if they are over 12.

Algore claimed he invented the internet, but it looks like potUS O'Blather may have been an early investor in an internet company (Lightsquared, which is embroiled in a possible scandal) in line to provide nationwide wireless access. Guess we're gonna hear from potUS O'Blather's spokesperson announcing it all depends on how you define early investor.

L-E headline: "Obama announces debt plan" -- You mean all this debt is his 'big plan"? potUS O'Blather will be forever known as "Debt man walking" as November 2012 approaches.

L-E headline: "Palestinian U.N. push jeopardizes U.S. aid" -- Question 1 - Why are we giving them $500,000,000.00, and question 2 - Why are we threatening them with stopping some of it? Cut the slime off!

The NAACP needs to ask itself 2 questions, and answer them truthfully, before further protesting Davis' execution: 1 - Is the NAACP protesting because it knows Davis is innocent, or is it only because he's black?, and 2 - Is protesting Davis' execution an "Advancement of Colored People"?

Noted the L-E story on reconstructing the Bike Trail at Slade & Warm Springs Rd "for safety reasons" (Of course, this 'rework' will have to be 'reworked' again when Warm Springs is widened). If "safety reasons" are the issue, then the City and State should make Bike Trail users to take a licensing course on the proper handling and use of a bicycle on the streets in Columbus and GA. Most do not know that their bicycles are under the basic rules of an automobile, and that includes not riding their bikes (or cars for that matter) on sidewalks if they are over 12.

If the USPS wants to eliminate Saturday mail, then how about giving us back all the paid Monday holidays except Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, and the 4th of July!

Online headline: "Obama Plan To Let Jobless Work For Free Gets Key GOP Backing" -- Didn't we see this program in action in 2008? I think it was called "ACORN"...

Follow up on a yesterday's comment: "In fairness, technically, potUS O'Blather may not have broken his promise to check every budget item for waste. When you think about it, he don't actually have a budget.... he's still operating on a "continuing resolution".

potUS O'Blather held up his "jobs bill" and demanded Congress 'pass it now'. Uh, Mr potUS, like your grasp of economics, what you held up as your 'job bill' was blank.

L-E "headlie": "AT&T upgrading Columbus service as it awaits decision on T-Mobile merger" -- The US Supreme Court got it right when it broke up AT&T so why would it let AT&T rebuild itself.. There's something oxymoronic about using "AT&T" and "service" in the same sentence.

Another liberal L-E "soundoff": "Somebody's memory has failed him. It wasn't Obama who doubled the national debt. George Bush took the huge surplus that Clinton left, squandered that then plunged us into the deepest debt we have ever known." -- If this is not the words of Judy F. Brouillette, then it's one of her former students. First, Clinton didn't leave a 'huge surplus', when he left office, there was a national debt of $5.73 Trillion and it would have been much worse except for the '94 Republican take-over prompted by Clinton's desire to socialize medicine even further, plus Clinton had pretty much dismantled the preparedness of our military. potUS O'Blather has almost added as much national debt in his first two years as was added in the 8 years Bush in which was president and had the responsibility of rebuilding our military so we could defend our country from terrorists around Earth.

Why does TV bother to promote itself? The best shows get overlooked for shows that thrive on crudeness and sensationalism at the sacrifice of reality.

You know, I'll bet only DIM&DUMBERat voters vote in the Emmy's.. That would explain why "Modern Family" appeals as a reflection of life as they see iut.

potUS O'Blather and the DIM&DUMBERats are going to one day get their wish, and when they do, no amount of back-pedaling will save them. Billionaires and millionaires may just pack up their money and leave the country.

If potUS O'Blather wants a "Warren Buffet Rule"for taxes, he should apply the other "Buffet rule", too. You know the "Jimmy Buffet Rule" for stopping DIM&DUMBERats from spending while drunk with power.

From a L-E story about 'moon jellyfish" spotted in a heavy concentration along the barrier island in the waters off AL, and MS: "University of Southern Mississippi marine scientist Monty Graham says the jellyfish tend to accumulate along the edges of the shore, which helps them reproduce. -- Hmmm, maybe Spring Break is a visual stimulus for jellyfish? Why are sports conferences so intent on bringing in disassociated schools into their conferences? This reminds me of when banking regulations were changed and banks started buying mortgage and insurance businesses and becoming super-sized conglomerates. We all know how well that worked.

Online headline: "Obama to Seek New Tax Rate for Rich" -- potUS O'Blather would be more successful just getting the 501 (c) 3 status of MovingOn.com retracted so that George Soros and Peter Lewis cannot deduct their political donations from their taxes.

The DIM&DUMBERats are now saying David Werpin, the D&D candidate in the NY-9th special election just wasn't a good candidate. I agree, but it sure is refreshing to hear something close to the truth uttered by any spokesperson of the D&Ds

Well, the UAW finally made a deal with itself at GM. Now the union will try again to bring down Ford.

The MCSD applied for and received a $1,000,000.00 grant to help assimilate 4,000 BRAC stidents into the system (about $250.00 per child). At last report, only 54 students have been attributed to BRAC. This has created a dilemma in that should the MCSD be able to keep the entire grant or should it only keep $13,500.00 (54 students times $250.00 each) or send the whole amount back?

Looks like Clemson installed a plexiglass shield in the after getting behind so quick, and the War Eagles kept flying into it.

There was so much orange at the Clemson-Auburn game that you know the highways leading out of there were litter free after the game.

Gotta another e-mail from potUS O'Blather's campaign manager, Jim Messina, yesterday. This time, if I donate $5.00 or more, I will be entered into a raffle to win one of 4 spots for a face-to-face dinner with the President. Hmmmm, when McDonald's or Burger King has a contest, you don't have to buy anything to have an opportunity to win, but I guess potUS O'Blather doesn't want anyone to have a free meal on him....unless, of course, he can get the taxpayers to pick up the tab.

Thinking about the Solyndra scandal took me on a trip down conservative memory lane. Remember about 3 years ago when Rush Limbaugh signed a 8-year contract extension with Clear Channel for $400,000,000.00? He earned that warning us about what liberals are doing to our future. Now some California con men spent 4 trips to the White House while donating to, and sweet talking potUS O'Blather about the green industry, and they walk off with $547,000,000.00 of our tax dollars. What happened to watchdog Biden? potUS O'Blather assured us 'nobody messes with Joe'. Well. it looks like we are going to have to wipe a huge amount of Joe's mess from our shoes before we can move on.

Republicans in the House should present its on version of an economic recovery bill to potUS O'Blather. They should name the bill "S.O.L.Y.N.D.R.A." - Stop Obama Loaning Your Networth During Recovery Again.

Unemployment in Nevada jumped from 12.9% to 13.4% this month. Nevada re-elected Harry Reid as its Senator, and the DIM&DUMBERat Senators in Washington re-elected him their leader. Can not everyone see where this is going? Why should the other 49 states be penalized by letting this man continue to 'serve'? If the Senate Majority leader in Washington cannot send enough earmarks and programs to his own state, what 'hope' is there that he or potUS O'Blather can 'change' anything for the good for the rest of us?

L-E headline: "Columbus GA Columbus post offices may move mail operations" -- Hiuh? I thought our mail was already being processed in Macon...
---
The Expedia case is a blackeye for the City. There is no reason for this to be civil case to begin with except with the City being a plaintiff, it has allowed a group of lawyers to go for big legal fee bucks. If Expedia has not reported and turned in the sales and occupancy taxes it is required to charge and collect, then it is a simple criminal case that should be being handled by the GA Department of Revenue and the GA DA's office.
Yesterday, I received an e-mail from a very dear friend, a Major in our US Army, asking for advice on hotels/motels for an upcoming trip back to Ft Benning in mid-October. He could not find online info on Columbus hotels/motels.

Richard Hyatt making fashion statements on any 'field' is a living oxymoron.

Looks like Native American Cherokees are removing African-Americans who cannot prove by DNA that they have Cherokee blood from the benefits list. Would love to be in the 'war room' as Sharpton, Jackson, and the NAACP discuss their claims of racism.

I went to www.attackwatch.com , potUS O'Blather's newest campaign website, and to enter, I had to give my e-mail address. This AM I got an e-mail from Jim Messina, Campaign Manager. Jim says, "Now forget everything you know about politics. * Because I can tell you that the next 14 months will be like nothing you've seen from a campaign. If we're going to win, we have to be tougher, smarter, and more innovative than ever before." -- It ain't politics Messina is going to have to hope voters forget; it's potUS O'Blather's and the DIM&DUMBERats' policies he's going to have to hope the voters forget.

Until the school system stops preaching that poverty is a legitimate excuse for bad grades rather than touting education is a tool that can stop the cycle of poverty, nothing will change. Students of any environment, especially from one of poverty, will not learn if the teachers approach teaching as a "you can't learn because..." venture rather than a positive "you can" attitude.
---
Question for your MCSD representative: How much money was projected to be spent handling the 4,000+ BRAC students, and how much can now be saved now that the projected impact did not occur?

If potUS O'Blather wants the super-rich to pay more in taxes, then eliminate loopholes created for only the super-rich. Take George Soros for example. He donates millions to "MovingOn.com" (a 501 (c) 3 organization) and gets to deduct that donation from his taxes.

CSU has really displayed its lack of concern for the City's needs this week. With Bikes on Broadway and the Friday Night Concert going on Friday night, CSU did not open the Front Avenue Garage upper floors to help with the parking problem such events cause, and this week, with the Ft Benning event going on at the Trade center, not only did CSU not offer to open its gated parking for public use, CSU continues not to monitor the use of students and staff clogging up the 1st Floor public parking.

I've heard it all. After having the Solyndra chief executive in the White House to play up his 'green economy' commitment by supporting a $550+ Million dollar loan to Solyndra, potUS O'Blather is now blaming the forfeiture and bankruptcy on President Bush because the loan application was filed when Bush was still president. potUS O'Blather...it was you who co-signed the loan!
---
You also really have to wonder if Solyndra filed its 'quarterly reports' in a truthful and timely manner.
---
potUS O'Blather's new campaign web site, www.attackwatch.com, has proclaimed that he is the most supportive administration of Israel. Perhaps we should get Netanyahu's opinion on this...QUICK!

When the Post Office first announced the "Forever Stamp", I bought a ton thinking it would be a pretty good long term 'investment'. The first couple of years, I patted myself on the back; now I'm worried I might have to write them off. So much for 'investing' in government services.

When Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D&D - NY and Chairwoman of the D&D National Committee, said that the results of the special election to replace Anthony Weiner was really a non-event because the NY 9th District has always been a 'difficult' district for D&Ds, I did a double take of "Huh?". The 9th has always been a difficult district for D&D? There have been 46 straight elections before this special election in which a D&D was the winner. What was difficult to understand about that for Ms Wasserman-Schultz?
---
Remember Jose Baez? He was/is Casey Anthony's attorney. Well, now he's representing Gary Giordano who 'lost' can't find' his playmate he took to Aruba. Bet Baez is trying to arrange for Casey Anthony's jury panel to be vacationing during the same week Giordano goes to trial.

Online headline/story: "Bradley Johnson, California Math Teacher, Has No Constitutional Right To Use Banners Referring To God, Judge Rules * Johnson had displayed the approximately 7-foot-by-2-foot banners -- one of which had the four phrases "In God We Trust," "One Nation Under God," "God Bless America," and "God Shed His Grace On Thee" -- in his classroom at another school for nearly 20 years. But when he came to Westview High School, Principal Dawn Kastner said the banners were "a promotion of a particular viewpoint" and ordered Johnson to take them down, * Judge Richard Tallman of the appeals court wrote in the ruling that while Johnson can make his views known on the nation's religious history beyond the schoolyard, it is not appropriate for him to do so in the classroom." -- Hmmm, do you think this judge, or the Principal for that matter, would have made an issue of a Muslim (or Jewish) boy wearing a head cover inside the school? No way!
---
Gonna backtrack on whether Ft Benning (as a government entity) should be renting the Trade & Convention Center from the City (another government entity). The exposition was a real asset and bonus. I did have one 'at odds' moment. One of the vehicles on display caught my eye, and as I walked around to look inside, I was stopped and prohibited because I wasn't a government employee. I questioned that by saying "No, I'm not an employee, I'm more like a government EMPLOYER as well as an American citizen. Still didn't get to look inside. Bummer...I mean Hummer.

Does anyone have the final count of BRAC students that entered the MCSD system? Preparation was based on 4,000+ being expected, and the last figure I remember being mentioned was less than 100. Also, what is the total enrollment for the 2011-12 school year?

Online story: "Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson told his "700 Club" viewers that divorcing a spouse with Alzheimer's is justifiable because the disease is "a kind of death." * During the portion of the show where the one-time Republican presidential candidate takes questions from viewers, Robertson was asked what advice a man should give to a friend who began seeing another woman after his wife started suffering from the incurable neurological disorder. * "I know it sounds cruel, but if he's going to do something, he should divorce her and start all over again, but make sure she has custodial care and somebody looking after her," Robertson said." -- Hmmm, I'm gonna bet there is a new press release being written as we speak that Robertson has developed Alzheimer's himself and doesn't remember saying this.

No way!

Why does the US Government sound so concerned about announcing increases in the poverty level? The US Government's spending policies, and entitlement programs are basically the cause of the increase in the poverty level.

There's one big problem with buying/owning gold at these prices. There's no safe place to 'park' your earning. Interest on cash is miserable, and other investment areas put you in the same or worse risk category as gold.
---
The NAACP is discriminatory. We are all 'colored', but if you are 'colored' white or even pink, your 'color' is not advanced.

L-E headline: "Obama on jobs bill: 'What on earth are we waiting for?' -- The answer: November 2012. Obviously there is a job waiting for potUS O'Blather then... straight man for Jay Leno.
---
A letter in the L-E reflects how the writer would have told college students to "seriously consider teaching as a lifelong profession". Since when is '30 and out' a lifelong profession? That seems to be the course of action for too many in the education field, and it's a shame it's an option to leave it when they just get to the age they have acquired wisdom worth passing on.
---
I have one question to ask about the projected savings of $150K by closing the East Wing doors of the Government Center. Since the only way to have done that would have been to eliminate $150K in salaries and benefits, how many people were dismissed at the time that was done?

Looks like Warren Buffet has been hoisted by his own petard. By brown-nosing potUS O'Blather with his 'more taxes' comment, and putting $5 Billion into B of A, Buffet has exposed his company to a bit more scrutinization which has revealed his company may not be paying all its taxes.
---
Speaking of B of A, Bank of America announced it was cutting 30,000 jobs in the next months. Of course, last week, there was speculation that B of A was going to cut 40,000. Guess potUS O'Blather's spinmeisters will be proclaiming potUS O'Blather's "jobs speech" has already 'saved' 10,000 jobs!
---
Ironically, IRS has a department designated for handling checks from rich people who want to voluntarily donate more tax dollars than they owe. Surely this is another government operation with a negative cash flow.

Top level tennis, like golf, has no room for mediocrity or affirmative action, but Serena Williams is trying her best to get "Confirmative Action" so that her opinion should out-weigh the court referee's.

The Weiner replacement election in NY today may be being set up as a 'sucker punch' for Republicans. DIM&DUMBERats are coming supporting the Republican candidate for this longtime, very D&D stronghold. By doing so, the D&Ds are setting up the results as either an "I told you so" moment or to be able to proclaim vindication of potUS O'Blather's return to popularity.
---
Seems like every presidential candidate wannabe knows the problems, but it also seems every politician is campaigning on how sympathetic they can say, "I care". What we're not hearing is any of them spelling out solutions they have to solve them.
---
NY D&D Representative and D&D National Chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz says potUS O'Blather "jobs speech' knocked it out-of-the-ballpark, and that local and state government pension plans are not part of the economic problem the states face. Schultz should be the Webster Dictionary's picture next to the definition of "Liar".
---
If there are any 'loopholes' in the tax laws that need to be eliminated it's the 'loopholes' that give tax credits and refunds to people who aren't paying taxes to begin with.
---
Politicians say moving the retirement age higher for collecting Social Securiy is a solution, yet (and I exclude military personnel who have served in combat zones overseas) most government pensions let people retire after 20-to-30 years and collect pensions immediately, then return to other government work. This is a major part of the economic problem.
---
I really don't have a problem with a government entity using a private sector facility as it puts cash flow directly into the community, but I do have a problem with one government entity using another government entity as a facility host. It's basically taking tax dollars out of the private sector and shuffling them back-and-forth between
the pockets of two government entities, and the community doesn't get much benefit.
This is just wrong.

Had a run in with Simply Storage yesterday. Even though I had denied coverage on a rental unit because I am covered by my homeowners policy, Simply Storage started charging me for it anyway a couple of months ago. If you have such a storage arrangement with them, check you bank statement for an extra $9.00 charge.

Bolstered by his forceful ranting of "Pass this Bill!", is potUS O'Blather campaigning for a post-White House job as the emcee of "Extreme Makeover - White House Edition"? Can't you hear him yelling to the van drivers, "Drivers, move those vans!"?
---
L-E story: "The French finance ministry said when it announced the proposal (another tax on Coca Cola drinks) late last month that the move to levy a 1 euro cent per cantax was "motivated by a public health goal". -- Yeah, right....lying politicians are a world-wide problem. No tax is levied for a "public health goal"; taxes are levied because politicians think they can get away with it to have more money to spend. If "public health" were a "goal", politicians would ban what they think are unhealthy products rather than tax them.

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- The Secret Service is investigating three threatening messages that were posted on the White House's Facebook page. * The messages included a picture of Osama bin Laden. One said, "We'll come back 11/9/2011 to kill u all." * Another showed small plane icons and said, "Today we'll come 11/9/2011." -- Now we know what potUS O'Blather's long awaited "jobs creation bill" is; posting threats on his own Facebook page, then rehiring former ACORN workers to protect him.
---
I'm tired.... tired of being brow beaten by government agencies about how we must give up more freedoms to be "safe". What's government actually done in the last 10 years? Government treats US citizens like 3rd country thugs when we fly, government protects the rights of non-Christian entities, but tries to keep God and Jesus out of schools and the 9/11 memorial ceremony while, and government has delayed the building of the new Ground Zero replacement tower, while encouraging and expediting a Mosque to be built there.
---
L-E story: "Muscogee County Sheriff John Darr can remember when security at the Government Center was basically one sheriff’s deputy patrolling the three buildings, all of which could be accessed by the public from all directions. * Now, post 9/11, there is a lone public entrance with a walk-through metal detector, several deputies with hand-held detectors and an X-ray scanner for purses and briefcases. And the building bristles with security cameras, many of which weren’t there 10 years ago, said Darr, whose job it is to maintain safety and security for the three-building complex." -- Guess this is the local stab at job creation based on keeping us "safe" (see above 2 comments). The parking deck has been closed to the public, there are cameras everywhere, the public is now herded through a single 'cattle gate' at the government center, yet we have more Sheriff, Marshal, and Police employees than ever. Further, since there is only 1 entrance for the public to enter the Government Center, and everyone is screened for even the smallest of penknives, why do we need security cameras at all, and why can't there be cuts in the security personnel?
---
10 years later, why are monies being collected for 9/11 memorials? What has happened to the moneys collected during the past 10 years? Has this become emotional blackmail to keep the fund raisers perpetually employed?
---
Quote taken from interview in the L-E: "The price of greatness is responsibility” — Winston Churchill " -- Hmm, no wonder we have such problems in government and MCSD ventures... no one wants to take responsibility for their work!
---
L-E headline: "2011 Maneuver Conference begins today at Columbus Convention & Trade Center " -- I, too, love Ft Benning and our Army friends/family, but wouldn't this event be better served on the grounds of Ft Benning, and thus saving quite a bit of our tax dollars?

Online headline: "Obama Urges Unity: 'We Refuse To Live In Fear'" -- Who's is potUS O'Blather speaking for...the DIM&DUMBERat National Re-election Strategy Committee?
---
Online headline: "9/11 Anniversary: Sept. 11 Remembered In Worldwide Ceremonies " -- You know, there are countries celebrating this travesty....NEVER FORGET!
---
Online headline: "Officials: No Evidence That Al Qaeda Sneaked Terrorists Into Country" -- Yeah, they didn't have to 'sneak', just walk across the Mexican border.
---
Online headline: "Syrian President And Arab League Discuss Ways To End Bloodshed" -- Hey guys, how about simply dropping the Quran and Sharia Law for starters.
---
Online story: "Gerald Mistretta, a city sewer worker, made more than the police commissioner, the schools chancellor and the mayor -- combined, reports the New York Daily News. * The Brooklyn father of three took home $771,841 for the fiscal year that ended in June. The amount included a yearly base salary of $109,850 and $173,000 in overtime -- plus nearly half a million dollars in back pay, according to the tabloid. -- If an employee making $109 K 'base salary' gets $173K in additional overtime pay, the city could have hired 1 and a half new employees instead. Of course, the first question is why a government employee working sewer service gets $109K, but the next is how much does his supervisor make, and why did he assign that much overtime hours rather than adding a person of two?
---
Last week, when UGA lost to Boise State, you could put some, maybe even a lot, of the blame on those hideous uniforms.. I mean, no self-respecting team could feel good about them. This week...maybe it wasn't the uniforms fault.

From a fellow BCer wanting to know if anyone knows where he can buy a shirt like this.....
Passed on from a fellow BCer:
General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha, Wis., to Beijing. In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes-the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the United States.
So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar).
Immelt is supposed to help create jobs.
I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.
If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does.
---
18 times potUS O'Blather demanded for Congress to "Pass this bill". I agree...Congress should 'pass' on this bill; in fact, pass it on to round filing cabinet on the floor.
---
It's one thing to want to spend $447 Billion when you have it on hand, but it'd another thing when you have no idea...correction, you know it's gonna have to be taxed out of the private sector which knows better how to spend it.
---
Online "headlie": "World Stocks Fall On Fears That US Jobs Plan Will Stall In Congress" -- What a liberal viewpoint! The world has more fear of anything potUS O'Blather proposes being passed unread, than anything else.
---
potUS O'Blather probably could have gotten his 'job plan' passed by the DIM&DUMBERat Congress of 2008-09, but only if potUS O'Blather had tried reverse psychology of imitating Br'er Rabbit asking Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear to please not throw him in the briar patch.
---
Online headline: 'Bank Of America Considers Slashing Roughly 40,000 Jobs' -- Hmmm, guess that $5 Billion Warren "tax me more, PLEASE!" Buffet invested in BAC will be used to fund the severance packages of the 40,000.
---
Wonder if Buffet putting $5 Billion into BAC was to embarrass potUS O'Blather into stop mentioning his name in speeches?
---
Online headline: "Tim Geithner: Obama Jobs Plan Would Have 'Powerful Effect'" -- Yeah, like that old 'sucking sound' of jobs leaving the USA mentioned by Ross Perot had a 'powerful effect', too.
---
Repeat: "Tim Geithner: Obama Jobs Plan Would Have 'Powerful Effect'" -- How credible is it when one less that credible minion tries to give credibility to his boss?
---
Last week, potUS O'Blather sent up a trial balloon for a jobs bill of $300 Billion; Thursday night, he was needing nearly $450 Billion. Nah, there's no inflation.
---
It seems sorta funny to hear reports of 'stim-YOU-LIE' money still sitting around unspent. Boehner should call for an immediate return of any of that money, and buy back some of the debt the DIM&DUMBERats put on us through the 'stim-YOU-LIE' bill.
---
You know, after 2012, potUS O'Blather may get an offer to be a TV pitchman. Can't you see him now, "If you buy my line today, we'll double the offer for free....(plus a separate handling 'investment'), and throw in free passes to my next fundraiser.
---
Before we put potUS O'Blather (or any politician for that matter) in charge of any job plan, let's remember that it's taken 10 years, because of government red tape and processing to get an incomplete tower rebuilt of Ground Zero. I heard on the radio it took only 18 months to build the Empire State Building during the Roosevelt Depression, and that was with out the modern construction methods and equipment. Guess there weren't as many government/union hoops to jump through back then.
---
If the private sector had been put in charge of rebuilding at Ground Zero, we could have proudly shown the world that America can "take it", and come back stronger than ever. What does the ceremony with an unfinished 'memorial' tell the world?
---
Wish the SEC would do something more dramatic, even more worthwhile, than just expanding the schools under the umbrella. Wouldn't it be good if the SEC did something for academics rather than just sports? Say, how about the states of the SEC schools eliminating out-of-state tuition fees for students of each states high school graduates?
---
L-E story: "DETROIT — Contract talks between the United Auto Workers union and General Motors and Chrysler slowed Friday as the union seeks more money and the companies insist on cost cuts to offset pay increases," -- Whatta joke! How does the union negotiate with itself?

Online headline: "Federal authorities are investigating a 'specific' threat to the US, just days before the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks." -- Ooops, my bad. Thought MSNBC was reporting its opinion of potUS O'Blather's 'jobs speech' and weekend excursion to NYC.
---
Online headline: "AFL-CIO Goes To Bat For Undocumented Workers" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought the AFL-CIO had a new program for signing up new members.
---
While I'm waiting for more results/information, I do have to wonder whether a bullet fired from a handgun would be in good enough 'shape' to penetrate /exit a body after first having gone through a windshield.
---
Firefighters are being shut out of the Ground Zero remembrance this weekend. That's about a perfect score for the liberals. Liberals are going all out to distance themselves from those who pray to and honor God, but feel it's OK to build a Mosque there.
---
potUS O'Blather said, "We can be #1 again". Again? We are #1 in spite of O'Bather, only the margin we had before he took office has dwindled down to a close race.
---
potUS O'Blather constantly refers to a Warren Buffet comment that his secretary pays a higher income tax rate than he does. Doh! Buffet's secretary makes a salary, a good salary, I'm sure, and pays by the rate Congress/IRS has determine for 'earned income'. Buffet, on the other hand, doesn't take a salary, so his tax rate is based on the rates set by Congress/IRS for dividends and long term capital gains. Of course the secretary pays a higher rate!
---
potUS O'Blather seems to have lost his touch. I don't think even 2008 ACORN employees think their jobs will be available in 2012.
---
Why is 'science' so intent on proving the evolvement of today's humans from lower species? Cannot the concept of God creating various levels of species that died out over time, the His creation of a newer and better version at another point in time be acceptable to "scientists"? If evolution of the species is such an undeniable route for 'scientists', why do we not have more species of ape-to-human actually IN evolution?
---
After thinking about it for a few days, the personal offer to match donations to a Sam & Jacquie Rawls Fund benefiting CSU would have been more genuine if it was made on an anonymous basis.
---
L-E headline: "FBI probes solar firm that got $535M U.S loan" -- Hmmm, but a better place to start would be the campaign contributions potUS O'Blather accepted from the prinicipals of Solyndra during his 2008 campaign.

$176K for the DOT Comish...what do his minions make? You have to remember that this is a group whose only job is to prioritize (after politicizing) the allocation of tax dollars. Seems like a lot of money is being skimmed off the top that could be saved by just letting the GA House/Senate doing the politicizing.

From L-E story: "A Columbus woman who embezzled more than $626,000 from beneficiary accounts for veterans was sentenced Wednesday to 33 months in federal prison. * ..........., the former director of children’s ministries at Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus, will begin serving her time on Nov. 1. After her release, she’ll be placed on probation for five years and ordered to pay $1,000 a month in restitution, said her defense attorney, James L. Lib L-E "soundoff": "No, color shouldn’t be reason to elect someone to office. So wasn’t color the reason you decided not to vote for him? Last night was sorta a physical version of "The Breakfast Club". Sam, we miss you.

Online headline: "Obama's $300 Billion Plan Revealed" -- Unfortunately, 'we' don't have the money (nor the desire) to do what he feels, and even worse is that $300 Billion isn't even close to how much it will cost us if Congress does approve it.

A news story is bantering about the capture of Al Qaeda's chief economic terrorist whose job it was to disrupt international commerce. Huh? Why would Al Qaeda spend money on a job that already is filled by potUS O'Blather and the DIM&DUMBERat Party for the past 2+ years?

I've about had it with unions after hearing Jimmy Hoffa declare war on all us non-union 'sonuvabitches'. I'm gonna start looking for the union label..again.. and when I find it on anything I'm interested in buying, I will look for another product that serves my purpose. I have no empathy for anyone who offends my mother or children's mother.

A local motorcycle ad is promoting the memory of 9-11-01. It refers to this as a 'tragedy'. This was no tragedy; this was a TRAVESTY towards mankind. A tragedy is something that happens by accident or by a freak of nature. 9-11-01 was a planned terrorist attack on everyone. This was a heinous act of cowardice, and no one involved or who approved should be breathing today.
---
It was ironic that potUS O'Blather chose the city of Detroit to bond with the unions. Detroit was once proud city that has been humbled and crumbled by a coalition of union and government destruction that resembles foreign cities following World War II bombing raids.

Why are there State Patrol officers following football coaches? Aren't there more important, more urgent budget needs than this? If coaches feel that endangered, or in need of a 'hey-I'm-important' ego trip, then let them hire their own security guards.

Another good 'alert' from a fellow BCer: Peter Lewis, chairman of Progressive Insurance, has donated many millions of dollars to the ACLU and MoveOn.com ('snopes' confirmed). We have one of our daughters insured by Progressive, but that will stop after this 6 month period.

Fall Line Trace....Give it time...and it will become an eyesore and public frustration. Motorcyclists and joyriders will discover it as will skateboarders, and bicycle shops will not inform the public of the laws and rules of bicycling, and wait until the smooth surface wanes and pot holes appear. Just wait.

L-E headline: "In Labor Day speech, Obama pledges support for unions" -- Even when preaching to the choir, potUS O'Blather still won't get 100% union support except from the Union Leaders, but this is what DIM&DUMBERats do, promise factions the moon while ignoring the self-invested small business owners who pay for the promises. No wonder D&D's are happy that less than half actually pay income taxes.
---
A poll out of LA shows potUS O'Blather beating either Perry or Romney with 54-56% of the LA vote. Hmmm,, O'Blather cannot even get 1 landslide poll result in a town that is full of illegal aliens to poll.
---
Excuse me, but what is the purpose of the L-E ad with the self-promoting pat-on-my-own-back Clerk of Municipal Court? To begin with, it promotes a beginning date that's almost 2 months past, but who authorized it, and who paid for it? If it was necessary as a 'legal ad', why was it printed in such large type rather than in a traditional 'legal section' format?

Online headline: "White House: Obama Presses Congress On Quick Jobs Action" -- Is this guy unbelievable or not (and I'm not just talking about the fact he's not believable as a rule)? While vacationing on an elitist vacation compound, potUS O'Blather casually mentions that in a couple of weeks he's gonna hit us with a game CHANGing bit of job HOPE plan, but now he wants Congress to speed it up. How can this guy be even a contender in DIM&DUMBERat ranks?

Lou Correa told the Register on Saturday afternoon that he was called by the FBI late Friday night and told that Durkee had been arrested and that he is a likely victim along with “many, many other victims.” The Santa Ana Democrat said he believes he has lost “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in campaign funds. * Federal Election Commission records show that Durkee is the treasurer for Feinstein and Sanchez, who could not be reached Saturday. California Secretary of State records show she currently serves as the treasurer for at least 113 state-level committees * Durkee has had enforcement actions taken against her four times by the state Fair Political Practices Commission, primarily for failing to report transactions or information." -- Guess Durkee has "earned her wings" to be the next Financial Tsar for potUS O'Blather's upcoming job speech.

American taxpayers are looking for some 'extreme' solutions!

Open letter to Tim Echols in response to his L-E response:
Taking your family at your expense (you are prorating the room costs, I assume) is OK with me.
What I don't like is the fact that when GA Power spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on advertising ways to cut our energy costs and usage, the PSC will allow GA Power to claim those expenses for the need of a rate increase, and the PSC will compensate GA Power with rate increase because people actually took the ad messages to heart and lowered their energy usage.
I want to hear every PSC candidate pledge that if customers use less energy, then GA Power needs to cut back on its own expenses rather than be given a rate hike as compensation.
One thing that will work is for GA Power to follow its own advice: Set it's thermostats in every corporate office to 80 in the Spring and Summer, and 64 in the Fall and Winter months. After all, that will average out to a steady 72 degrees year long.

Right off the bat, I did notice she mentioned but one landlord, but another Decatur Court apartment complex landlord was omitted...Chastain Properties.

Of course, Council could buy those Decatur Court apartments at an outrageous price and turn it into an "Enterprise Zone", and sit back as having addressed & solved the problem.

The Republicans have 4 candidates that you have to look at...Gingrich, Romney, Palin and Perry. Gingrich, Romney, and Palin have to be looked at twice. Perry has a successful run as a current governor making him mighty attractive though not as well known name wise. Newt.. I blame him for much of our current economic condition (even more than potUS O'Blather because we EXPECTED O'Blather to be inept). After leading the 94 Contract with America, Newt abandoned the movement in 1998, and by 2000, there were enough Republican Congresspersons acting like DIM&DUMBERats
that voters started sending them home; unfortunately replacing them with REAL D&D's. Romney could have been our current president, and we'd never know how bad potUS O'Blather is. Romney backed out of the 2008 race because I think he felt Princess Clinton would be the D&D nominee, and he didn't think any Republican could beat her in November, so he left McCain to be the slaughtered. Romney could have beaten O'Blather because the public was well aware of his economic prowess. Then there's Palin... quitting her term as Governor of Alaska just damaged all the credibility she had as a 2012 candidate. It's Perry's to lose.

There are 19 "Expressing Appreciation" items on Council's agenda Tuesday for various city employees upon their retirement. There are 0 resolutions expressing appreciation for the taxpayers.

How ironic that the government is going to be expressing appreciation of its 19 retirees and expressing condolences for the deaths of 9 former employees at about the same time as Sam Rawls will be remembered across the street. Bet there will be plenty of room in Council chambers.

In light of a new century, it probably was a good time and a good thing for Ole Miss to change its nickname/mascot, BUT after all that time, you'd think anyone could come up with a name other than the 'black bears'. The gopher from Caddy Shack would have been better.

It's Labor Day Weekend! UGA got penalized on its first offensive play. I honestly believe that the referee threw the flag on those ugly and OFFENSIVE uniforms.

I first wondered why Nike didn't make special "combat uniforms" for its home state Oregon Ducks, BUT how could NIke make any new uniform that was uglier than what the O-Ducks were already planning to wear?
---
Speaking of "u-g-l-y". how about them Boise State orange & blue shoes? man, even the Florida Gators wouldn't wear those!

Between UGA's uniforms and Boise State's shoes, I spent most of the night trying to adjust the color balance of my TV. My TV will never be the same.

UGA got penalized on its first offensive play. I honestly believe that the referee threw the flag on those ugly and OFFENSIVE uniforms.
---
I first wondered why Nike didn't make special "combat uniforms" for its home state Oregon Ducks, BUT how could NIke make any new uniform that was uglier than what the O-Ducks were already planning to wear?
---
Speaking of "u-g-l-y". how about them Boise State orange & blue shoes? man, even the Florida Gators wouldn't wear those!
---
Between UGA's uniforms and Boise State's shoes, I spent most of the night trying to adjust the color balance of my TV. My TV will never be the same.

From online quote site: "The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have." - Vince Lombardi " -- It's time to take these ordinary adages so well known in locker rooms across the nation, and post them in School Administration offices and teachers' lounges in every city.

Online story: "Undocumented workers (illegal aliens) collected $4.2 billion in a certain tax credit last year, up from less than $1 billion five years ago, according to a new audit. * Many of those people cannot obtain a Social Security number, so to facilitate this the IRS hands out what are known as Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers -- so illegal workers can file returns. However, in doing so many of those workers are claiming tax benefits like the Additional Child Tax Credit. For some, it's a way of making even more money. * The Additional Child Tax Credit is an offshoot of another tax credit worth up to $1,000 per child. Restrictions for the tax credits were loosened in 2001, and eligibility was temporarily increased by the 2009 stimulus bill. " -- "Temporarily increased" in 2009? Looks like a 'tax increase' on real Americans to pay for it.

HuffPost headline/story: "Limbaugh Goes After Frank Rich, Obama" -- That is the headline...the story is that the HuffPost didn't go after Limbaugh for saying what he did. Don't you love it when liberals eat their own?

According to a L-E story on the arrest of 2 Harris County School System contracted janitors, the 2 had been cleared in a background search to work at schools. I find it hard to believe that 30-something year old men willing to sell 'crack' to school student on a campus were first time felons. Whoever conducted, or accepted, the background check for the HCSS has some 'splaining to do.

The number one problem is that teachers with an attitude that their students are 'victims' and placating them rather than pushing them to achieve is compassionate. If you ingrain in a child that 'he can't' because of his environment or circumstances, by God, he will believe you.

How come the new Smith Station HS that just opened is 18% bigger than the new Carver but costs millions of tax dollars less Carver is projected to cost?

No wonder Expedia is still fighting the attorneys. It looks like Expedia's situation is one of a criminal nature than a civil one, but class action attorneys can't get big bucks simply by turning over evidence to the State Department of Justice. It appears that the real charge against Expedia should be for either a failure to collect due taxes from the 'end user' OR for failing to turn over revenue collected as taxes to the state for distribution.

Online headline: "Comedian Wants to Run for Office" -- Arrggghhhh!. We already have too many lawyers in office; we surely don't need any more clowns!

Online headline: "Roger Clemens Will Face Second Perjury Trial" -- Gimme a break! The headline we NEED to see is "Politician will face perjury charges for lying to the public in a campaign speech".

Liberal's "soundoff": "Work hard, do without, pay bills on time, and save up for big-ticket items. Result? A low credit score, because lenders don’t like people who don’t borrow money. High scores are bought, not earned. " -- Liberals don't get the concept of having the good self-esteem people get by working hard, and living within their means. To a liberal, having 10 maxxed out credit cards is more important than having a saving account and sleeping well at night.
---
Another liberal's "soundoff": "Instead of a 10-day vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, I spent 10 days at the unemployment office. No success." -- Well, you were no less successful than potUS O'Blather. You got paid for doing nothing productive.

That ad by the Nissan dealership "honoring" Sam Rawls is almost vile at a minimum, and too self-serving to be run once, much less twice.

Online headline: "US to Sue Slew of Nation's Big Banks" -- potUS O'Blather must not know about this yet (we're always hearing he 'knows nothing' until the staff informs him of it). but since Warren Buffet just invested $5 BILLION in Bank of America, do you feel Buffet will be so interested in paying more in taxes (or being O'Blather's poster child for higher taxes)?

From a Glenn Beck newsletter: "Green bust: Another subsidized solar company touted by Obama goes belly up
Thursday, Sep 1, 2011 at 3:20 PM EDT
Obama has repeatedly touted green jobs as the solution to the ailing economy. Even though Spain proved green technology is not quite ready to shoulder the load, and forcing it too early is disastrous (they bet the farm on green and now have 21% unemployment). But Obama continues to force it, and yet another $535 million dollars went down the drain. Glenn reports on the latest solar company to get huge sums of federal cash only to go belly up.
Obama said, ” The companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future. The true engine of economic grown will always be companies like Solyndra.”
What happened to Solyndra? They’ve gone bankrupt!
“They received $535 million, half a billion dollars in your money,” Glenn said.
“And one year and three months later, bankrupt. Done. Bye-bye. Their employees are now looking for jobs,” Pat explained.
“I don’t even understand that. If you have a $539 million, even if you sell zero solar panels, how do you go out of business?” Stu wondered. -- What I want to know has an investigation begun on where $539 million dollars of your and my money was dispensed over 15 months (that's about $36 million a month).

When it comes to statistics, the government thinks a job salary should be based on the number of people in a family rather than the worth of the worker to the job. Is that not Communism 101?
