A conservative's daily look at the news with an aspect of "Laugh-In Looks at the News" and "Johnny Carson's monologue" twisted in.

Goober is gone.... gone but not forgotten. George Lindsey passed at 83.

Online headline: "France Votes Sarkozy Out of Office" -- Wonder if potUS Arpege is so hepped up to emulate the French government anymore?

The bumper sticker Hillary Clinton will probably have on her limo:
----
Online headline: "Biden: I'm 'Comfortable' With Gay Marriage" -- has anyone updated VEEP Biden-Biden on the newer dictionary definitions of 'gay'? Perhaps this is just another Biden verbal, open-mike 'gay-ffe'.

From one of our military BCers:

potUS Arpege claims Romney doesn't understand the effect that corporate outsourcing, layoffs, and building overseas plants have on the average American. I suggest it's potUS Arpege that hasn't a clue to the effect DIM&DUMBERat regulations and union support that has been forced on private industry have done to the average American.

From WTVM 9 news story: "Now it’s going to be up to use, to do our due diligence and to perhaps check references, talk to other districts who may have used these companies and then come back together and say, okay what do you think?" said (MCSD chairperson Cathy) Williams." -- "do our due diligence"? "perhaps check references"? This sentence has the depth and comfort of a politician's campaign ad sound bite! "talk to other districts who may have used these companies"? They might as well ask the mother of Trayvon Martin as to how perfect her son was before being killed. Due diligence should involve our MCSD board, not some research firm sycophant, checking into parental confidence and opinions in each candidate's previous employment city.

Just a question concerning the process of selection of "Teacher of the Year". How many students sign up for music, drama, athletics, etc who weren't already committed to that venture? Now, think about teachers of core classes in math, geography, English, literature, required second languages, etc... think about how hard these teachers have to work to get through the distractions of students who wish they were somewhere else, just to get through to the students who actually want to learn something? Now think about the teachers who get through to those distractive students and turn them into learning students. I think coaches (of athletics, music and drama) are wonderful, but the teachers who recognized my children's needs and developed hidden talents; the teachers that connected, are the ones they will (me, too) remember/thank for the rest of their lives. These teachers are the stars of the system.

Since the L-E won't identify columnist Karl Douglass as a paid campaign staffer for Sanford Bishop, I'm going to run this May 6th 'item' daily in my blog (and place in the L-E online comments area) until the L-E does the right thing:
I see the L-E has run another Karl Douglass column without identifying him as a paid member of the re-elect Sanford Bishop organization. Fortunately, Karl had some pretty wise words to say about financial responsibility of our City. I would have been more impressed, though, if he had directed such advice and comments to his employer, Congressman Bishop!

I will admit, Chitweed, oops, does try to be funny (key word, "try"), but I do thank him for increasing the visitors to my blog website ( http://kirvensbreakfastclub.bl...)

Hey, Chitwaad, this is funny, and I didn't even have to 'try' - Online story: "OMAHA, Neb. — It was a bit of a zoo at the Nebraska Medical Center over the weekend, when a special patient came in for jaw surgery. * Motuba, a 27-year-old silverback gorilla, needed a CT scan after a scu•e (sic) Thursday night with another gorilla, said Doug Armstrong, director of animal health at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo. The zoo can’t perform the scan, so it contacted the hospital, whose staff has been consulted on animal cases in the past. * “It wasn't life threatening but we knew we had to address it,” Armstrong said. " -- Well, welcome to Obamacare... lucky, though, for the gorilla that the HELL-thScare Bill is not in full force, because being 27 in gorilla years means he would probably been denied services for being too old.
