Online headline/story: "Mass release of US prisoners spells deportation for hundreds *  While this weekend will be a happy occasion for the thousands of inmates who are U.S. citizens and will reunite with their families, many of the roughly 1,780 foreign inmates to be put on the deportation track will leave family members behind in the United States." -- Boo! What an appropriate weekend.. guess this is Obamageddon's "trick" for us.. Instead of keeping illegal alien prisoners where we know where they are, now they'll be shipped back home and they can reenter illegally and head straight to a sanctuary city

---
From above story: "Despite Obama administration assurances that the transfer of ex-convicts into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a routine occurrence, immigrant advocates worry they may not receive due process as they leave. * Final deportation orders are in effect for 763 of the foreign inmates, who could be deported within days. The rest will be transferred to immigrant detention centers to await orders." -- "advocates worry they may not receive due process"? Hmmm.. how can we reassure them..I know.. confiscate their passports, and give them companion bunk beds in the detention centers, plus one way companion tickets, and let them deal with other countries' treatment of illegal aliens.. remember  Sgt Tahmooressi?

---
Oh. looks like we getting another Halloween "trick" Remember that extra 6 months and additional $1,000,000.00 that the GA DOT gave the contractor to finish the Whittlesey Road widening project? Even Gomer Pyle wouldn't say, "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise" when heard this.. GA DOT bids should include "completion clauses" that include penalties and performance bonds for work not completed on time.

---
To make it a complete Halloween "hat trick". we took our 3 year-old granddaughter to the movie last night... to see "Hotel Transylvania 2.. Talk about a Halloween trick...it cost $48.59! And that's only the beginning of the Halloween trick! Remember when you used to pay a set price for a ticket and all the taxes were already included in that price? Well, no more.. Now, Carmike has started adding on the 8% local/state sales taxes onto all the tickets and concessions prices.. on top of that, there are new higher prices as well... the Senior tickets are now $7.56 ($7.00 plus .56 in sales taxes) and the ticket for our 3-year-old was $8.91 ($8.25 plus .66 in sales taxes). Oh, and the "kids pack"... that extra pricey purchase so kids will have their own snack to amuse them.. it is now $8.64 ($8.00 plus .64 in sales taxes) ..  guess some people had already experienced this because there was a mostly empty theater and parking lot when we left at 8:30.

---
Afterthought... remember the theater boxes of candies you can buy at Target for $1.00 plus tax that Carmike sold at $4.00 including taxes? Well, now Carmike is charging $4,00 plus .32 in sales taxes.. new price for the $1.00 box of candy is $4.32....If you buy one in the future, I'd start looking for the expiration date and carry a "Swifter" refill to wipe the dust off.

---
Another afterthought.. it cost $17.55 to take our 3-year-old to see a movie, and she was ready to see it "again" as we left.. I think that before we take our 3-year-old to a movie again, we will just wait intil the DVD comes out and buy a copy we can watch with her to her heart's content... and save a ton of money.

---
Hmmm.. remember the prep schooler who sexually assaulted a 15 year old girl as some sort of Senior ritual.. and that  he and his attorney's had rejected a plea bargain deal that would have seen him get only 30 days of jail time and not having to register as a sex offender? Well, the sentence is in 1 year in jail plus a lifetime listing as a sex offender.. I guess we should have expected this.. seems John Kerry went to the same prep school, and we've seen how well he negotiates a deal..hmmm....as a parent, I do believe i\I'd pull my child out of school there.

---
Yesterday, we got word that Obamageddon is not going to release the e-mails between G.I. Jillary and the White House until after he leaves office,  and this morning we are reading about a District Judge named a Colleen McMahon threatening to "hammer" McDonalds if it give all its e-mails to the labor relations board. *  Friday, Judge McMahon in Manhattan accused the company of "playing games" in order to avoid complying with a subpoena from the National Labor Relations Board seeking documents from workers who deal directly with franchisees, which the company says would be irrelevant and costly.. Wait a minute.. why hasn't the Benghazi Committee sent its case against G.I. Jillary to Judge McMahon?

---
Good grief.. did you watch or hear about that newly released 1990 interview with Tiger Woods when he was 14? This quote is bothersome, ""Every time I go to a major country club I can always feel it. Always sense it. People always staring at me. 'What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here.' When I go to Texas or Florida you always feel it. They say 'What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here.' And that's probably because that's where all the slavery was." Unbelievable! If people were "staring at him" it was because not only was he a celebrity by then, he had an unbelievably good golf game, and people stared at him as they would if Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Gary Player had driven up and wanted to play golf. Tiger Woods' daddy must have really done a number on young Tiger!

---
Online story: "A jury has awarded $240,000 to two Muslim men who say they were fired from an Illinois trucking company after refusing to deliver alcohol." -- Good grief... Hey, what about the bakers who refused "to deliver" a gay wedding cake for a gay wedding  who were fined for standing up for their religious beliefs!
---
What's Obamageddon gonna do...put new troops into war zones wearing sneakers do he can claim he's not putting "boots" on the ground?
---
Josh Earnest, current chief liar for Obamageddon, says the new troops will be there to "intensify the strategies that are working" . Exactly what does that mean? Certainly they haven't been skilled at crossing red lines drawn by Obamageddon..are the new troops skilled at bowing or Cross Country retreat?
---
It's about time Obamageddon hires a new press guy...may I suggest the new one be given the name, Manure Spreader.
---
Online story: "Gov. Andrew Cuomo canceled two $5,500-a-ticket World Series fundraisers after being accused of exploiting America's national pastime and civic pride for a chance to raise cash from wealthy insiders." -- Oh.. but it's OK for him to make campaign promises that exploit hard working, middle class taxpayers?
---
Onlline story: "A fourth Iranian-American has been arrested by Iranian security forces as the country's Islamic Republic begins implementing a nuclear deal struck with world powers, according to reports.
" -- Good grief.. any American voluntarily going to Iran should get no sympathy from the American taxpayets.. this guy felt he could profit from Kerry's deal.
---
You know, I'm not against abortions per se..I am against taxpayer funded ones and those awful partial-birth ones, but I 'd rather for a woman or couple deal with God about the choice, rather than have back-alley ones as the alternative to sanitary facilities. I'm also wondering why the activist advocates for them aren't being questioned on "how they feel" about why their mothers chose life over abortion.
---
Just thinking about this sent shivers up my spine.. when John Beohner stepped down, it reminded me that if Obamageddon and Biden had both become incapacitated to be president of the US, John Beohner would have been made president.. I don't feel that queasiness knowing Paul Ryan in next in line after Biden...Obamageddon needs to examine his Secret Service entourage for efficiency.
---
Online headline/story: "Hillary Clinton to call for ban on racial profiling in Atlanta * Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton will roll out new criminal justice reform policies in Atlanta on Friday as she tries to maximize her advantage with minority voters over Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders." -- Good grief.. G.I. JILLary needs to curtail her racially profiled campaign promises!
---
Instant headline repeat: ""Hillary Clinton to call for ban on racial profiling in Atlanta" -- Yeah.. every white person ought to be treated fairly, too.
---
I get angrier at UWG the more I think about what they are charging for 12 x 30ish dorm rooms that are mandatory for freshmen.. an 8 month (two semesters) use cost $5,800 each for two students.. that's a "cell" with two twin beds, one bathroom area and utilities.. that's $1,450.00 a month that the parents are are having to cough up for rooming for their young adults..that's robbery.... unless you want to call it blackmail?  There's no other way to describe it.
---
Jonathan Gruber triple-double, no. incredulously  extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   All American products manufactured abroad should be taxed when coming into the U.S. to support all of our laid-off workers." -- Firtst.. it's not about American products.. it's products made in other countries to be imported into America, but to do so would raise prices so much that most people couldn't afford them.. Now, what would work is eliminating unions.. .. uniform wages not only boost the costs for products. they demoralize the most productive and skilled workers so product quality also drops. Just recently, a Washington State company's CEO/owner made his own and everyone else's salaries $70,000.00 regardless of their contribution to the company.. and top producers became resentful of being paid the same as mediocre ones. In time.. that company will fail...
---
Another one of those above  LIV's L-E "soundoff": "  The Benghazi hearings have nothing to do with integrity or a search for truth. It is a political event to affect the election and has spent over $8 million in taxpayers’ money." -- What's happening is a battle of strength as to whether the truth is revealed and integrity is returned to the government of the people.. When you side with the Democrats, you're bringing about the same slow death as the company mentioned above.
---
L-E headline: "Obama welcomes budget, debt deal to keep government open" -- And why not.. Obamageddon gets to add another Trillion dollars to the National Debt all the way through the next election with which he can buy more votes to keep the White House under Democrat despotism..
---
L-E commentary: "Commentary: John A. Tures * Ben Carson’s irony oblivion * Dr. Ben Carson wants to use the U.S. Department of Education against what he thinks is “extreme political bias.” Given that I’ve publicly disagreed with him at times in my columns, I fully expect to be in his crosshairs for writing them. * In a recent interview with Glenn Beck, Carson told him, “I actually have something I would use the Department of Education to do. It would be to monitor our institutions of higher education for extreme political bias and deny federal funding if it exists,” according to the Daily Beast." -- I finally agree with this associate professor's commentary.. he does need to be eliminated from teaching his opinions as history.
---
L-E headline/story: "SEX OFFENDER CAUGHT AFTER HIGH-SPEED CHASE *   He was charged with multiple traffic violations stemming from the incident, including disregard of traffic control device, duty to report, driving with driver’s license suspended, failure to maintain lane, failure to exhibit proof of insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, stopping in the street and striking a fixed object, according to a report. *  He also was arrested on the warrants issued prior to the wreck, which included failure to register as a state sex offender, violation of probation, sexual battery, theft by deception, theft by receiving stolen property, false statement and false imprisonment." -- Hmmm.. and what about the car.. was it his, and how did he get possession of one without a drivers' license?.. Or maybe was it stolen, and he hasn't been charged with that, or perhaps it belonged to a friend/family member  of his who didn't check or care that he had a drivers' license. If it was his.. why wasn't it confiscated when his license was suspended? If it was stolen, where is the grand theft auto charges on it? If it belonged to someone else who allowed him to drive it without a license, where are the charges for aiding and abetting a known felon? These are questions the L-E doesn't ask.
---

L-E headline: "SPENCER FOOTBALL * Greenwave closing in on history * Spencer needs one win in final two to clinch winning record" -- Hmmm wouldn't it be nice if the L-E, and  the MCSD/MCSB were more interested in Spencer becoming a winner in the classrooms.

What in the hell was Pelosi doing handing over the Speaker's gavel to Paul Ryan?

---
One thing Paul Ryan brings to the House Speaker's job is that he understands economics and will read the bills he pushes. Both if these qualities are completely vacant in the Democrat option, Nancy Pelosi.

---
Online headline: "Ryan promises to 'wipe slate clean' for 'broken' House * The newly elected speaker said after the vote Thursday he's 'not interested in laying blame' when it comes to solving problems in the House." -- Hmmm... guess this will be recorded in history as "The Pelosi Pardon"..

---
I want to laugh but only tears come out.. Did you know that Sam's Club accepts "SNAP" cards? How does a welfare recipient qualify for access to Sam's, a membership store?

---
You know, while Trump didn't hit anybody with a hammer Wednesday night, I hope he's not doing what Romney did...Romney hammered Obamageddon in their first debate, but followed ill advice in the second and third ones which allowed Obamageddon to recover and win the game in the end..America lost because of analyst/strategist advice.

---
There's an aspect of property taxes no one has talked about yet.. the property tax on your vehicles.. When I moved back from Harris County, my vehicle property taxes doubled.. Since 2003, I've basically avoided buying new cars (with the exception of my wife's nice vehicle in 2004), but we are both going to buy new ones in 2016.. and probably take the single pay tax option.. what I haven't decided is whether I'm going to buy them while living here, or whether I will move back to Harris County following any ballot issue that too many non-property owners will get to vote on. I can already compute the tax savings I would benefit from in moving.. I know I will take a loss on my home here in Columbus due to the 'bubble burst" that happened after I bought, but I can limit my ongoing losses by moving and paying lower taxes on a home and cars in Harris County.

---
Also, while Mayor ObamaLYINGson is poor mouthing us about the tax freeze on our homes, she never addresses the continual increases we pay for our vehicle property taxes taxes.

---
Here's the granddaddy of property tax elitism at Eagle and Phenix:
A well known CEO of a well-known, century-old-plus manufacturing and real estate firm has a 3,200 square foot 4th floor  condo valued at $996,591.00 that pays $5.60 in property taxes. In addition, his unit has a H1 homestead exemption status as well as coverage of the "historic property" loophole. Will someone please tell me the HI designation will not freeze his "historic property loophole"  taxes at $5.60 for life?

---
Online story: "The coach of a Washington state high school football team who prayed at games despite orders from the school district to stop was placed on paid administrative leave after a group of self-described Satanists said it planned to attend a Thursday game to protest the practice." -- Good grief.. what a state we live in when a school board fears what the devil says he "going to do"...It looks like the devil has already taken over the school board.

---
L-E headline: "FORMER SHERIFF’S WORKER SUES CITY UNDER WHISTLEBLOWER ACT" -- Hmmm.. I'm curious.. did Mark Shelnutt ever obey his 2-year ban from coming into Muscogee County?

---
That incident involving a defiant student in a South Carolina school, and the over-reaction of the enforcement officer highlights the inadequate concern that school systems. including our own MCSD, have for other students interested in learning. Why was the student, with her history, sitting in that classroom.. Why, because school systems are more concerned with "body counts" than a good learning environment.. "Body count" you ask? Yes.. seems that the school system gets less funding if disruptive students are suspended and not in attendance.. Proper discipline is lost when students are allowed, even in "in school suspension" (ISS), to be on school grounds in proximity to their friends rather than alone at home..

---
L-E headline/story: "GREATER COLUMBUS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE * Event looks at economic development * Regional Prosperity Initiative aims to make Columbus more attractive to businesses, young professionals * The chamber executive also touched on the Columbus metro area unemployment rate, which has lagged the recovery by other Georgia cities and the U.S. as a whole. *  The local rate in September was 6.7 percent, second-worst in the state, with Albany at the bottom." -- Hmmm.. You know, it looks like the $1,000,000.00 +/- contribution Council makes of our tax dollars was not well spent.. In fact.. eliminating such tax dollar "gifts" would have kept our garbage collections at twice-a-week, and Mayor ObamaLYINGson would still have the $500,000.00 she said the City will gain in savings from elimination of two pickup days a week.

---
Another shooting report today reveals another victim who was shot in both legs.. there have been a number of similar reports in Columbus recently making me wonder if this is not some "signature message" in the local gang/drug scene..

---
It's folly to think that a bi-polar person is under control when such is in charge of deciding whether or not to self-medicate. The bi-polar person is actually the controller of whether he/she is under control. Not a good situation for those close at habd.

So if Auburn gets 2 wins in its last 5 games, Auburn becomes "bowl eligible".. I'm trying to see where this would be a positive for the AU football program.. you know.. having its season rehashed on National TV and all.

Thursday, October 29, 2015

Last night  was a good night for the Republican Party... and America... the candidates took on the CNBC panel's bullying tactics in the only way to handle bullies.. they called them out on that in front of their "friends".  I'm sure the CNBC people "supported" each other afterwards, but they were all stripped of their credibility..

---
After last nigh's debate.. I'm still liking Trump, followed by Cruz, but I think all the Republicans fared well in their own way as they unified in front of a live and TV audience.. This is what the Republican Party has needed .. to be unified in their message and  purpose.. America's dire need to regain its greatness. Now, if the candidates can stay on this track and let the people simply choose which one is the best messenger.

---
I can see this lineup in 2016.. Trump-Kasich  as P/VP.. with Carson Secretary of Education, and Cruz as Senate Majority Leader.. and if Ryan "slips" bring in Newt as Speaker of the House.

---
Online story:  "The CNN hosts on Wednesday took more incoming than anyone on stage as candidates from Cruz to Carson slammed the moderators for questions they deemed unfair. Even the audience got in on the act. * The moderators repeatedly looked to corner the candidates on unseemly skeletons from their past, but the candidates would have none of it -- rallying together to slam the moderators' questions and the mainstream media overall." -- "even the audience got in on the act"? Even CNN "got it".. CNN's analysis deemed the night's biggest loser was ..CNBC.  What's even better is that the TV audience "got it", too. My bride, normally rather cynical about politics to the point she leaves the room to watch something else, sat impressed with the show of strength generated by the Republicans as a whole.. you think the studio audience's reactions were reflective of what CNN was trying to do,, you shoulda heard my bride get pumped up.. haven't seen her get so excited about what was happening in politics since last year's thumping the Dawgs put on Auburn.

---
Online headline/story: "Boehner reveals biggest regret as House speaker *  Boehner's biggest regret, he said, was not finalizing a major budget deal with President Barack Obama in 2011 that would put the country on a much sounder fiscal footing." -- Well, that's a start.. hope he regrets 2012's, 2013's, 2014's, and 2015's failures as opportunities to correct his 2011 regret..

---
I do not know what happened at the International Sniper Competition , but it was won by the Canadians.. Good grief.. that's a sign that we need a real commander-in-chief in the Oval Office, and G.I. Jillary ain't that "hope  & change" America needs.

---
Online headline: "Major city passes budget with huge property tax hike" -- Nope it was Chicago.. not Columbus, GA because we have "the freeze".. but this headline could easily been talking about Columbus, GA if Mayor ObamaLYINGson gets her way.

---
One of the Mayor's outspoken supporters has made the claim that we have 29,000 of 65,000 homestead properties that pay less than $100.00 annually  (and 15,000 pay less than $50.00). I have sent him this request:

I would like to see a breakdown by numbers/percentages by quadrants for private and rental residential properties that are paying less than $100.00 in property taxes.

I'd also like to know how much those 29,000 such properties are paying in sewage and garbage fees as well.

Thanks..
Hal
---

I sent info to the above realtor, Council, and some news reporters and politicians in Columbus about some of the lowest tax paying private properties being located in a premium luxury condominium complex situated on the river in downtown.. the Eagle & Phenix... I compiled the totals of the first 20 condos listed in the property tax digest.. those 20 units are valued at almost $4,500,000.00 yet the total property taxes those 20 owners pay is $1,276.23. That's right..a total of $1,276.23 dollars is collected on property assessed at nearly $4,500,000.00. .. and there are 67 more of those condos than the twenty I have compiled this info.. And it gets worse.. 5 of those 20 (that's 25%) units pay less the $5.00 in property taxes! And some of these condo owners have other homes in Columbus on which they are claiming (and receiving) Homestead Exemptions as their primary residence.. The excuse used to justify this is a special loophole provided to encourage redevelopment of historic properties.. I can see certain value of doing this to develop such properties, but giving a 10 year window of tax favoritism to the individuals who purchase "the finished project" just rings of elitism.

---
Oh, and another fact about  the sampling of 20 of the 87 units listed at the E & P Condos:

8 of the 20 units are owned by out-of-town people from as far away as Hawaii, Washington State and New York.. The total.. TOTAL property taxes paid by the 8 out-of-town owners is $564.19. Think about this,, those out-of-towners are paying less in taxes than if they paid the hotel occupancy taxes while they visit.

---
Oh, and one thing you can be assured of.. the luxury Condo owners at Eagle & Phenix will be supporting Mayor ObamaLYINGson's plan.. must be nice to get preferred treatment on taxes.

---
I wonder how a certain L-E journalist feels about him paying more than 10 times the property taxes on his Broadway home in the Historic District than his parents who live at the Eagle & Phenix luxury condos that is assessed at twice the value of his Broadway home...

---
Let's hold Mayor ObamaLYINGson's feet "to her fire".. She still has the H1 (primary residence)  Homestead Exemption on her home.. if she wants to pay more taxes, she can voluntarily give up her exemption.

---
Online headline: "Sheriff fires deputy for tossing student across classroom" -- This I can support.. under the worst situations (other than if the student had a gun in hand), was excessive given the size and age of the student.. On the other hand.. I will never support the claims of "Black Lives Matter" nor the DOJ's actions against the police officers in Ferguson or Baltimore.

---
Online story: "The security force that protects federal buildings has more SUVs than officers, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) watchdog, which found $2.5 million wasted each year due to mismanagement of its vehicle fleet. -- Good grief.. hope our School Superintendent doesn't hire the DHS's "fleet manager". I haven't seen this years figures but I do know last year the MCSD had over 500 buses in house, and only 207 bus drivers..and are buying MORE Buses!

---
Online headline/story: "Oxygen discovered on Rosetta comet, stunning scientists * Scientists say they have for the first time detected oxygen on a comet, a finding that could upend theories about how the solar system was formed. * While molecular oxygen has been found in Jupiter and Saturn, it’s never been found on a comet. The neutral gas comas of most comets are composed largely of water, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide." -- Good grief.. are these idiots the same one that are so cock-sure that God doesn't exist and humans are causing "global warming/climate change"? How can "discovering oxygen on a comet" which has water on it be a "discovery".. I'm sure the water on the comet is chemically the same as water on Earth, and I learned early on, even in public school, that water was "2 parts Hydrogen and 1 part Oxygen" so every comet with water has oxygen! I think the taxpayers should be given relief from our government hiring/paying scientists that think this is a "discovery'.

---
"Greenlight a vet"....there are ads running to encourage us to buy a "green" light and keep it lit so vets will know "we care".  I don't think my lighting a green light in a window every day will enhance my respect for our vets, but if you feel guilty enough to do this, do 2 things..make sure it's an American made bulb, and not from GE.

---
I actually heard a Fox News reporter say HILLsbury DOUGHgirl was an underdog in NH ..what BS. and media bias. HILLary has just been reeling from being out liberalized, but she's catching up as we speak.

I received a copy of this (from the writer) that was sent to Columbus Council and Mayor ObamaLYINGson, and think it's worthy of passing on to the Breakfast Club members/readers. Some of you in other cities may want to check on how your local governments are handling his as well:

Columbus City Council Members,

My name is Blair Brown and I am the Vice President of Operations at All-American Recycling, Inc. We are a locally owned, as well as Woman-Owned-Business, that has operated successfully in Columbus for the past 28 years.

I wanted to share with you some of my expertise with the recycling markets so that it could possibly help you with making decisions regarding our city’s recycling program. First and foremost, I have NO vested interest in hindering the city’s recycling efforts whatsoever. What the city is doing is considered municipal curbside recycling. Our company has no part in such type of business. Instead, our focus is, and always has been, on commercial recycling. (Some of our clients include Proctor & Gamble, Kia, AFLAC, Kellogg, etc.)

Frankly, what I see with the city’s recycling program- from the outside looking in- is massive spending by our city government with little return on expenditures. It has been touted by some that the city’s recycling program brought in nearly $600,000 in revenue last year. In my humble opinion, the City Council should examine what it cost to make that $600,000. With my recycling business experience, I would guess it cost nearly double or triple that figure. When one considers all the trucks that are leased, the fuel used, the manpower to pick up-supervise, process and maintain the program……. Expenses would be considered an ocean vs a drop in comparison to the latest discussions regarding costs to maintain the city owned golf courses.

To add, with the changeover to a once-a-week garbage pickup, the emphasis is going to be squarely on spending more money on the recycling program-by default. From an expense to revenue standpoint, this could be disastrous for the city’s recycling budget. To explain, with the expansion of the program, you are going to have many more expenses yet the revenue stream is not going to grow correspondingly as it did last year. One big reason is that scrap plastic prices have declined dramatically from 2014 to 2015 and are not expected to get better any time soon. As you may know, scrap plastic prices correspond with the crude oil prices-therefore you can quickly see the decline I’m talking about.

Here are a few articles about the scrap plastics pricing declines and how the markets have affected municipal recycling programs:

 http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20150510/POLITICS/150509846/citys-recycling-is-trashed-as-cheap-oil-sinks-plastic

http://www.recyclingtoday.com/article/montgomery-alabama-infinitus-waste-processing-temporary-closure -this article explains the recent closure of the Montgomery, AL recycling center due to significant market pricing declines.

http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/local/story/2015/oct/18/south-pittsburg-board-shuts-down-recycling-pr/331239/ Tennessee city recycling program shut down to high costs

As a local employer of 24 people and a tax paying citizen, my only goal with this email is to ask you to please consider how our taxpayer dollars are spent. If the current program is on ‘shaky’ ground, why put more money into it? One day, just like it happened in 2008, the recycling markets could crash. Thereafter, the city could be left with an empty recycling center (with millions of dollars spent) and nothing to show for it. Just ask Montgomery, AL city officials and the mayor now-they know this first hand.

Thank you for your time and the opportunity of letting me share my views with you all.

 Sincerely,

 Blair Brown

My comments: This is very pertinent as Mayor ObamaLYINGson and Council have recently enlarged our Recycling Cent up-to-tenfold the previous capacity, and have taken a serious path to engage in a more vigorous tax-dollar-wasting recycling plan.

Jonathan Gruber incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " What hypocrisy the Benghazi hearing was. All those mad Republicans are the same people who want to cut the State Department budget, which places our people abroad in danger." -- Good grief.. the only hypocrisy was the Democrat Committee members who defended her because of their party affiliations., Just another example of Ronald Reagan's observation.. "liberals just know so much that isn't so".

---
Another Jonathan Gruber incredibly stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Thank you, Millard Grimes, for your column explaining the current deficit. It is well written and researched. Republicans need to stop scaring Americans about it." -- I read the same column this past Sunday, and this was my take: Good grief... to liberals,, a lower increase of a budget item, or a decrease in the percent of an increase over the previous budget is a reduction of the budget deficit..In addition.. even if the overall budget comes in less than proposed, when the National Debt rises, there is not a reduction in budgetary spending" Just another example of a liberal feeling what ain't so.

---
Well, we're down to today, tomorrow and Saturday for the Whittlesey Road widening project to be finish 6 months over due.. I'm still taking guess for my "pool".. You might want to consider a date in 2016 at this time.

---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it and, above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light.”— Joseph Pulitzer, American newspaper publisher (born 1847, died this date in 1911)." -- Hmmm.. then the Pulitizer Committee has lost the ideal of its icon journalist/publisher.. too many liberal journalist have won such prizes, and accuracy is not in their writings...It also would be a good ideal for the Nobel Peace Prixe Committee to follow as well..since obviously it doesn't.

---
From the L-E's "This day in history" feature: "On this date: In 1901, President William McKinley’s assassin, Leon Czolgosz, was electrocuted." -- Compare that to how John Hinckley has been handled.. you know, the man that shot Reagan in 1981.. not only is he still breathing , he gets 8 17-day furloughs a year to visit his family. In a more current story, James Brady, who Hinckley also shot that day, and who was extremely disabled, died from and his death has been ruled a homicide because it was from complications from being shot by Hinckley, but Hinckley is not being charged for such. We have to purge liberals from the becnh and Congress!

A letter in the L-E says this: "I was never scared of witches, zombies, and assorted goblins wandering around on Halloween. What really used to scare me was the meat industry. This is the industry that mutilates, cages, and butchers billions of cows, pigs, and other feeling animals, that exposes thousands of undocumented workers to crippling workplace injuries at slave wages, that exploits farmers and ranchers by dictating wholesale prices, then jails those who document its abuses through unconstitutional “ag-gag” laws. Now, that’s really scary stuff *   But, instead of being scared, I decided to fight back by dropping animal products from my menu. I invite everyone to join me. * Dave Kephart Columbus" -- Good grief, hope some one will show "Dave" how veggies are picked, crated, shipped and stored.. he'd probably quit eating altogether.. and in a week or so.. the world would be better off.

Hmmm.. so Walgreens has bought Rite-Aid.. guess Walgreen wants to be ready as a single source prescription center as OObamaCRAP moves to a single-payer insurance company.

Online headline: "Clinton destroys Sanders in new poll" -- Good grief.. all this does is confirm that Democrat Voters prefer a lying Democrat over a truthful one...

---
Online headline: "Cleaners mistake art installation for trash and throw it away" -- Just proves the adage.. "one man's trash is another man's art"....

I agree with the cleaner...

Online story: "Car owners can continue tinkering with their vehicles. In a long-awaited ruling announced Tuesday morning, the US Copyright Office granted an exemption in copyright law that permits gearheads and home mechanics to continue repairing and modifying their cars without running afoul of existing copyright law. Though it comes with a few caveats, the decision was a victory for car enthusiasts and vehicle owners, who could have otherwise been legally prohibited from accessing software that controls almost every vehicle function on modern cars. *  such software was protected under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act." -- Thank goodness.. now maybe independent mechanic shops can buy the access to such import company cars at a price that they can afford to give owners an alternative to high cost dealer maintenance,

For all those that are personally interested in Mayor ObamaLYINGson's assault on the "freeze", read carefully... This is her response to something I wrote parsing another proponents information. I was speaking about a house next door to mine that is of similar build and square footage that has been sold and flipped in the last 16 months for less than I bought mine in 2003.

"Hal - You cannot appeal an assessment  even upon a showing of decrease in valuation. Under the Freeze value is frozen from upward and downward valuation. So, yes, in Muscogee County we do tax people on value they can prove they do not own. "

Mayor ObamaLYINGson has no plan to be "fair" for those of us that have bought during the "bubble" stages, and have faithfully paid more than our share of property taxes in the past 12 years.

---
Ad of the year...the KIA one where the father rips the "Participation" plate off his son's football trophy and writes in "Champions" on it. Too bad it will turn off libs from buying the car because Dad kept score.

---
Seen those "Spectre" James Bond movie ads? Belvedere Vodka martinis". ..for James Bond"...I don't think so..Bond was gin guy.

---
Some lib invited to the Fox News "Outnumbered" noon time show says people need to get there heads out of the sand concerning liberal gun control legislation ideas. Hmmm, what we need is for liberals to get their heads out if their rear ends.

---
That Washington high school football coach that is under fire for praying after games...well the same lib as above on Fox's "Outnumbered", says it's only  a matter of him praying on taxpayer property...hmmm and yet she has no problem with abortions happening in clinics that are supported by government revenues commandeered from taxpayers. Such a hypocrite!

---
There's an uproar about a New York Times' article referring to Carly Fiorina as " the other woman". What I hadn't figured out is who mainscream media means..HILLsbury DOUGHgirl, Caitlin, or Ellen?

---
While I agree the video of the policeman "taking down a student in her desk in South Carolina appears to an excessive use of power".., who is really the blame? The principal was quick to condemn the police officer, but in reality, the student was disruptive because the principal had not established and enforced an acceptable level of discipline.

---
L-E story: "Columbus Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to revoke the alcoholic beverage license for Luxxx Gentleman’s Club on Victory Drive and 8-1 to revoke its business license." -- Yea! but it should have been unanimous..

---
L-E editorial commentary: "Common Cause's proposed solution is not for campaign finance limits per se, but for strict limits on, and complete accountability for, how much such tax-exempt organizations can spend for political activity. In other words, you can be a social welfare organization or you can be a PAC; you shouldn't be allowed to function as the latter disguised as the former." -- The L-E  finally has a good stance on an important issue.. It affects Planned Parenthood, Move On.Com. and contributions to the Clinton Foundations.  * No tax exempt organization or principles there of, should be able to fund political candidates nor run ads supporting one candidate's or party's agenda... period.. Exemption status should be retroactive to initiation date when discovered and exempt donations be stripped from 1040 forms.

Online story: "Just as one Clinton scandal seemed to be coming to a close, the former president ignited a new controversy. Before a Hillary Clinton campaign event in Iowa on Saturday, Bill Clinton rallied the crowd by praising his wife's performance at the Benghazi hearing on Thursday. "We had the friends of our lifetime emailing me furiously saying they thought she was doing great," he said. "To everyone of them, I wrote back, 'I think I’ll vote for her.'" * The problem: How was Clinton emailing furiously when his spokesman claimed in March that he's only sent two emails in his entire life? * a Clinton aide tells Politico the answer is much simpler: Clinton misspoke, and meant to say he was texting." -- "I think I'll vote for her"? Hmmmm.. right away we KNOW that Bill Clinton is lying... first..he said he was "thinking", secondly.. his lips were moving...

---
Online story: " Hot dog makers and meat sellers say a report from the World Health Organization labeling wieners, bacon and other processed meats as cancer-causers is baloney." -- Hmmm.. wonder what the WHO thinks about starvation and Michele's School Lunch Program?

---
Now Walmart is ramping up for home deliveries via drones..you know, between Walmart, Amazon, and Google, there will be a bigger market for an anti-pest spray for drones than mosquitoes.....On the other hand,, delivery drones equipped with lasers ... or tasers may just be the answer to street crimes in Chicago...

---
Online headline: "Kerry talks Syria with Saudi king" -- Good grief.. what do we have left for Kerry to promise to give away?

---
Online story: "The University of Mississippi has stopped flying the state flag on its Oxford campus because the banner contains the Confederate battle emblem that some see as a painful reminder of slavery and segregation. * Interim Chancellor Morris Stocks ordered the flag lowered Monday morning." -- Hmmm... and the school "removed Col. Reb as its mascot 5 years ago, but have you seen "Black Bears" replace "Rebels" in the football stadium? I do wonder if Mississippi State legislators will withhold Ole Miss funding for "dissin" the state flag..

---
AOL and CNN are conducting a poll on what is the number 1 issue the next president will have to address. The choices are:

Jobs and lowering the unemployment rate

Clarifying and fixing the immigration process

Decreasing student debt and incentivizing education

Overhauling the tax system to make it clear and fair

Reforming what drug offenses constitute actual crimes

Improving access to and the cost of health care

Creating policies that improve our environment

Making the U.S. less dependent on foreign oil and energy

Hmmm.. looks more like AOL and CNN are supporting HILLsbury DOUGHgirl openly.. there no "choice" to vote for  "Restoring honesty and respect to the White House"

Online story: "California voters passed Proposition 1A, titled the “Safe, Reliable High-Speed Passenger Train Bond Act for the 21st Century,” in November 2008. Since that time, it has become clear that riding under up to 36 miles of the San Gabriel and Tehachapi Mountains will be dangerous, unreliable and slow–if the project it is ever completed. * The original estimates in the bond disclosure statement promised the cost would be only $33 billion, with a 2010 construction start and full operation by 2222. But when the project actually broke ground earlier this year, the official estimate was raised to $68.4 billion and a 2028 completion for the Los Angeles to San Francisco project. * according to a Los Angeles Times interview with MIT Professor of Civil Engineering Herbert Einstein, that projection assumes optimal mountain conditions for the dig. He expects California’s maze of fractured granite rock and fault lines will slow progress to 10 to 20 feet a day. Boring at 20 feet a day and working 261 days a year, the tunnel would take seven years to complete by 2026. At 10 feet a day, completion date would double to 2033. * These added time delays to bore through the southern mountains will add another $25 billion in expenses, pushing the bullet train’s total costs closer to $93 billion."  -- Good grief..it sounds like the California Bullet Train will be finished before our Whittlesey Road widening project and cost less....

---
Online story: "A targeted jobs program with a proven track record for keeping at-risk youth safe from summer violence is in line for a dramatic expansion, thanks to a $10 million gift from a former NBA great. *  Hall-of-Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson, along with Mark and Kimbra Walter, are partners in Inner City Youth Empowerment LLC. *  provide 5,000 summer jobs for young people at risk of being exposed to violence. The city will contribute $6 million during the same period. * One Summer Chicago Plus is a costly but effective summer jobs program whose 16- to 19-year-old participants are drawn from high schools in high-crime areas.
* To qualify for the 25-hour-a-week summer jobs — as well as a mentor, cognitive behavioral therapy and social-skills building — students must first have missed six to eight weeks of high school or been directly involved in the juvenile justice system." -- "a proven track record for keeping at-risk youth safe from summer violence"? Good grief.. what this basically does is put money in the pockets of 5,000 teens who will become prime targets for street thugs...

---
From the above story: "students must first have missed six to eight weeks of high school " -- Hmmm.. as if truancy wasn't a big enough problem in Chicago to begin with, now it's a resume enhancer...

---
Word on the streets of Columbus (as opposed to a story in the Columbus L-E) is that the Columbus Visitors' Bureau has hired a marketing firm from Montgomery to replace a local firm. It appears that said local firm told her something she didn't want to hear, so she "showed" them...Hey.. those are our tax dollars being spent out-of-state and out of the community..

---
Why is the FBI investigating HILLsbury DOUGHgirl? It should be the DOJ, but the DOJ has simply impaled itself with the decisions not to prosecute her, Lois Lerner, or Fast 'N Furious.. and in jumping into cases like Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Freddie Gray when it needed to be neitral until all the facts were laid out.

---
Uber lib Alan Colmes...you know more people hear him in one Fox News "contributor" session than he draws to his radio show in a week or more. The sad thing is he doesn't attract any of the Fox News audience to his show...( Radio Show Alan Colmes has a poor overall rating on RadioRatingz.com. )

---
They're baaccckkkk!!!!.. Those irritating previous metal ads... You know..if a broker/owner was so sure that prices were going to double...triple..wouldn't they be buying now rather than selling?

---
You know...mainscream media has jumped on Trump's religious comments as hard as they defended Obamageddon's comments...anyone know what HILLsbury DOUGHgirl's or Bernie Sander's religious faults are?

---
HILLsbury DOUGHgirl  said Ambassador Chris Stevens "knew the risks" of taking the job in Libya..You know..Stevens probably did know of the risks, but, more importantly, I'm sure Stevens "knew" his back was covered.. Unfortunately, he thought HILLsbury DOUGHgirl was trustworthy and honest. Hmmm... Democrat voters should take note of this..

---
A strike settlement clause at GM by the UAW includes a 4 year job security clause. Good grief...I could understand it if GM produced world leading quality cars, but when only 1 of its offerings can crash the Top 10, and it's not from Cadillac, we consumers are looking elsewhere for a car maker. To boot.. job tenure actually reduces the incentives to make better products.. hey.. maybe we ought to look into eliminating "tenure" within our public schools as well since "better quality" IS the goal...

---
Online story: "The head of the New York Police Department's union has called for a boycott of Quentin Tarantino's films after the director took part in an anti-police protest Saturday, four days after one of New York's Finest was murdered by a suspect he was pursuing." -- Just add Quarantino to Starbucks, Arby's and Duncan Donuts, and movies with Fonda, Damon, Glover and Alec Baldwin plus music of Bruce, Madonna, Katy and Adam Levine to the "avoid at all cost" list.

---
Jonathan Gruber incredulously stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Hillary Clinton is counting on the educated, thinking people to vote for her, not the brain-dead Republicans." -- Good grief.. just the thought of anyone associating "thinking" people supporting HILLsbury DOUGHgirl is pure folly...

---
Another Jonathan Gruber incredulously stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " The poverty and the pain inflicted on us by the one percent and their Republican henchmen are shameful and unforgivable." -- Good grief.. will some one ask this idiot whether he would like to be part of the 1% or remain among the group that $22,000,000,000,000.00 (hey, Dumbocrat,, that's 22 TRILLION dollars) has been spent on Democratic Party poverty programs that still have him in poverty...

---
Hmmm... now that Webb and Chafee have left the Democratic Party list of candidates, and Biden has rejected running.. it's a cinch there cannot be a Democrat debate held on Guam hosted by Rep Hank Johnson (D-GA4).. That much liberalism in one spot would tip Guam over...

---
Tell you what.. Trump and Carson should team up.. Trump should announce that when he wins, he will appoint Carson as Secretary of Education and the goal, after getting Public Education back on track, will be to shut the DOE down and give state and local authorities control of their schools.

---
L-E headline: "SCHOOL BANS LARGE BOOK BAGS, WEARING CAMOUFLAGE - Possible gang activity, increasing discipline problems causes restrictions" -- Hmmm.. two things.. how can there be gang activity when the  at least 6 of School Board members believe every thing Mayor ObamaLYINGson says, and the Mayor is on record saying we have no gang problems.. and as far as banning large book bags.. banning large books would be a better and less costly option...

---

L-E headline: "Lawsuit seeks third option besides male, female on passports * " -- Oooops, my bad.. thought it had to be Caitlin...

---
Good grief.. a letter to the editor from someone who lives in Alabama is suggesting "we" build a train bridge over the roads at the "spider web" at the Buena Vista/St Mary's, Brennan Road intersection. He does mention such be built at a 1 or 2% "grade so trains could handle it.. Good grief.. train tracks have a rule of thumb that grades be limited to 1% (in this case. 1 ft per 100 feet) PER 100 feet.. does this letter writer (who has zero interest in Columbus' business) know how much it will cost to raise 4000 feet (2000 up and 2000 back down), plus the forever altering the view for homeowners along the way? And what about the effect it would have on any other streets that the current railway track currently crosses?

http://trn.trains.com/railroads/abcs-of-railroading/2006/05/grades-and-curves

---
You know.. why should we trust Mayor ObamaLYINGson or the Tax Assessor's office with anything to do with property taxes/freezes/evaluations.. the house next to me is very similar in build and square footage, and has been sold twice (and on the market again as we speak) yet, though the price is lower than mine when I bought it in 2003. Being sold at a lower price means it still pays lower taxes than I do. How come the Mayor or the Tax Assessor didn't voluntarily lower my taxes and home evaluation? Now, do you think removing the freeze will change this.. no way.. they would "up" the evaluation in order to get more taxes (this is what happened that brought on the freeze), but lowering it.. no way...

---
L-E headline/story: ":MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD * Board member to conduct second forum * Kia Chambers, the nine-member Muscogee County School Board’s lone citywide representative, will conduct her second public forum this week. * “I was elected to represent all Muscogee County citizens on the school board,” Chambers wrote in the release." -- " “I was elected to represent all Muscogee County citizens on the school board"? Hmmm.. funny.. I can't recall one of her votes that I feel represents me.. or one that represents the needs of the students...

---
Hmmm.. I've got $1.42 in my pocket,,, hmmm.. do I buy a daily Columbus Ledger-Enquirer or a share of McClatchy stock.. probably the share of stock as it has print that doesn't rub of and ruin my clothes.

Online story: "A woman faces second-degree murder charges after authorities said she plowed a car into the crowd at an Oklahoma State University homecoming parade, killing four people, including a toddler.
Ada(_*_)cia Ch(_*_)mbers, a 25-year-old resident of the college town, was arrested after the Saturday crash on a driving while under the influence charge, and Stillwater police said Sunday she was being held on four additional counts of second-degree murder." -- Second degree murder"? Seeing as she made a choice to drink, ad the choice to get in a vehicle and drive.. it seems premeditated in every way.. and deserving o 1st degree charges.

---
Saturday, I posted a picture of a "NO Texting Zone" sign at a local elementary school. You  know, after thinking about it, maybe the MCSB should rethink this.. with close to 20% of our schools "failing", perhaps the students should all be given cellphones and teachers can do their lessons via texting.. all the kids seem more interested in texting and interacting versus reading books anyway..

---
That (_*_) who shot the latest NYC police officer was a habitual criminal with numerous major drug related who was sent by a judge to a rehab center (versus jail) against the DA's objections.. We have to purge liberals from the bench!

---
Good grief...mainscream media is celebrating what the call a victory for HILLsbury DOUGHgirl over the Republicans. Wait a minute..what happened is a loss for the American people.

---------------------------------------------------
From Columbus Council Agenda: "LICENSE REVOCATION HEARING *   The chief of police’s recommendation to revoke the alcoholic beverage license of Jamal R. Floyd, doing business as The Luxxx Gentlemen’s Club at 3742 Victory Drive, Columbus.-- "Recommendation"? How about a full frontal assault! God grief.. there were 3 parking lot shooting there in the month of September alone!

From above Council Agenda: "  RIVERWALK EASEMENTS FROM GEORGIA POWER: Approval is requested to enter into an agreement with Georgia Power for certain easements for utilities and maintenance identified as needed for the construction and completion of the Chattahoochee Riverwalk at the North Highland/Bibb Mills and City Mills sites." -- Hmmm.. how about getting GA Power to remove the sadistic climbing deterrents which "adorn" the existing power line towers already there.

From above Council Agenda: "   CHANGE ORDER 1 FOR ADDITIONAL BOOKS AND OTHER MEDIA FOR THE MUSCOGEE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY — It is requested that council authorize Change Order 1 with Brodart Books & Library Services (Williamsport, Pa.) for additional books and other media for the Muscogee County Public Library in an amount not to exceed $3,593.48." -- Whoa! The Columbus Library is "owned" by the MCSD.. why is Council even considering spending any City tax revenues there?

From above Council Agenda: "  Oct. 28: Recycling Trailers — The Columbus Consolidated Government wishes to purchase six trailers for the Recycle Center." -- Whoa! We just over built the new recycling center, and have downgraded glass to trash rather than recyclable, and there is a downtrend in companies even buying recycled materials, so in the end, this stuff is going into our landfills anyway.. so why is Council being asked to spend more good money on additional equipment.. does someone in the City government have a brother-in-law who makes trailers?

From above Council Agenda: "Pursuit Vehicles — The Columbus Consolidated Government wishes to purchase 25 pursuit vehicles. Twenty-four vehicles will be used by staff of the Columbus Police Department. One vehicle will be used by the Muscogee County Prison." -- A pursuit vehicle for the County Prison? Wouldn't a new bloodhound and shotgun be more effective and cheaper?

From above Council Agenda: "Emergency Medical Supplies — Provide various emergency medical supplies on an “as needed basis” to include: airway supplies, intravenous supplies, oxygen delivery supplies, bandages, exposure control supplies, exam gloves and other miscellaneous items on an “as needed basis.” The contract term will be for two years with the option to renew for three additional 12-month periods." -- And what department are these going to be the responsibility of storing/using? Now, has anyone checked to see if there are some unused "emergency supplies" that we already have stored somewhere?

-------------------------
L-E story: "The Rev. Prathan Powell found the best medicine for his high blood pressure by getting on a bicycle and riding on the roadway. * Powell joined Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and more than 100 riders Saturday to call attention to the benefits of cycling. The 5-mile ride started at Powell's World Changes Tabernacle on Alta Vista Drive, down Morris and Andrew roads to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard before returning to the church." -- Hmmm.. so the Mayor led a bicycle event in south Columbus.. nice start, but let me ask,, did she do so with or without an armed police escort?

---
From above story: "The Columbus Planning Department was the host of the bike ride. " -- Wait a minute,, how come this was paid for by the taxpayers!

---
L-E Sunday headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * Here’s how much school employees earn" --

Good grief.. another useless.. and lazy, "story" from the L-E.. basically this story is the "database" .. now, if the L-E wants to be of value to our community , it would focus on what all the non-teaching job holders bring to the table in terms of value to the students education, and the return-on-investment the taxpayers get for paying them.

---
From above story: "The Muscogee County School District salary database comprises 4,945 full- and part-time employees, as of Oct. 1. Out of the 4,250 employees listed as receiving an annual base salary," -- Hmmm.. 4,945 total employees.. this is a significant drop from the 6,200 reported a couple of years ago.. now.. why hasn't the budget reflected this major impact on a labor intensive budget which pays out 85% of it's revenues in salaries and benefits?

---
Did you see the video of HILLsbury DOUGHgirl falling flat on her face.. No, not the one of her falling as she enters Air Force 1 (though that's a great omen), but the one when she misses the softball pitch question from Rachel Maddow about the VA.

---
Did you see the blank look on Rachel Maddow's face when HILLsbury DOUGHgirl said that the VA scandals are overinflated Republican claims? Even her fan club has stopped believing she preaches the Gospel.

---
From the "where's the savings" department: Does anyone know what the garbage pickup for the City is now that two pickups have been eliminated? Yesterday, while going to church, we saw an "in use" garbage truck speeding down River Rd. We followed it until it turned and went into the Wilson Homes complex. Why, since two days in the week were freed up by eliminating residential pickups, are City garbage trucks operating on Sundays, and who is paying for the garbage pickups in a federal housing project? Are the residents subject to the same fees as other Columbus taxpayers?

---
Could you believe the Clinton's presented Katy Perry as a voice for them? Of course, Katy Perry's path parallels the Clintons..At one time she sang for Christ, but now, like the Clintons, she represents the "dark side".

---
Do you remember how, as children, we expressed how much we loved some one by stretching out our arms as wide as we could, and saying, "I love you this much!"? That's what God said when Jesus's arms were  nailed to the Cross.

---
I'm convinced that the best way to control guns is to purge liberal from Congress and the Judicial Branch.. We need tougher and faster death penalties for using a gun during a crime.

---
Despite Biden's definite put down about ever running for another political office.. how can he expext us to believe him now?

---
L-E headline/story: "Two teens charged in connection with deadly shooting *  Police said A**** E****, 18, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, reckless conduct and theft by bringing stolen property into the state, as well as the false report. Now at the Muscogee County Jail, E***s’ preliminary hearing will be at 2 p.m. today. * A 16-year-old was charged with involuntary manslaughter (felony), reckless conduct, possession of a handgun by a minor and tampering with evidence, police said." -- Hmmm.. well, we know that if the defense attorney can reassemble the jury used last week that these two teens will walk out as innocent angels. Where is the "Black Lives Matter" protest group?

---
Sunday L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT * Here’s how much school employees earn" --  Good grief.. another useless.. and lazy, "story" from the L-E.. basically this story is the "database" .. now, if the L-E wants to be of value to our community , it would focus on what all the non-teaching job holders bring to the table in terms of value to the students education, and the return-on-investment the taxpayers get for paying them.

Interesting L-E "soundoff": " If Donald runs against Hillary and loses that means he got beaten by a girl." -- Hmmm... definitely a poser.. but from all indications, the polls are still out on HILLSbury DOUGHgir;s gender...

---
Jnathan Griber triple extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "   Sensible pharmacists know too many drugs and too lax drug regulation is a bad thing. Likewise, sensible gun owners should also know that too many guns and too lax gun regulation is a bad thing." -- Good grief.. if you took all the drug and gun regulations and laws off the books, we'd be back to the basic US Constitution... and we'd still have all the necessary regulations for guns in writing.

---
L-E story: "Thursday afternoon, a two-man crew the city had contracted was repairing a sinkhole in the 700 block of Broadway * The sinkhole has been a problem for at least two years. The city has repaired it a couple of times, but the Broadway brick pavers sink not long after the work is done. * After talking to the guys who were doing the work, it was decided we better call an expert. In this case that expert is City Engineer Donna Newman. * As suspected, it was a problem with the Combined Sewer Overflow System, Newman said." -- "a problem with the Combined Sewer Overflow System"? How can that be? Remember when Frank Martin was Mayor (ond on the Water Board) and the Water Works held a gun to the head of the residents to triple the water fees unless a bond issue was approved that would FIX EVERYTHING WRONG WITH THE COMBINED SEWER OVERFLOW situation? LIES

---
L-E guest commentary headline: "Commentary: Sadly, there is no party for Jim Webb * Cynthia M. Allen" -- Hmmm.. well there use to be.. it was the Democratic Party of John F Kennedy.. unfortunately, as with Zell Miller, that Democratic Party left us,, and Jim Webb..

---

From the "figures don't lie, but liberals/liars figure a lot" department - L-E guest Commentary headline/content: "Commentary: * Deficit keeps falling — who knew? * by Millard Grimes * The national budget deficit for the fiscal year 2015, which ended Sept. 30, has been announced by the Congressional Budget Office. The final total was lower than predicted and was $8 billion less than the deficit from fiscal year 2014. More importantly, it was only 3 percent of the gross domestic product, down from 10 percent in 2009." -- Good grief... to liberals,, a lower increase of a budget item, or a decrease in the percent of an increase over the previous budget is a reduction of the budget deficit.. HUH? In addition.. even if the overall budget comes in less than proposed, when the National Debt rises, there is not a reduction in budgetary  spending!

Hey, friends.. need your prayers.. my youngest unmarried nephew is getting is getting married today.. and has honeymoon plans for southeastern Mexico.. we could use some extra prayers...

---
Parents of college students in GA.. U of West GA specifically, are really getting ripped off for dorm costs. My daughters dorm fees for a semester (about 4 months) are $2,900.00. Her 1 roommate pays the same.. They get an approximately 12' X 30' room with one bathroom for (between them) $5,800 dollars per semester.. that's $1,450.00 a month.. No apartment complex in Columbus could get that kind of "rent" for a 360 sq ft 1 bath apartment.. The State District Attorney's Office should order a forensic audit of this.

---
Online story: "Federal authorities have confiscated shipments of a lethal-injection chemical that Arizona and Texas tried to bring in from abroad, saying such imports are illegal — a move that compounds the nation's severe shortage of execution drugs." -- Why are federal "authorities" stepping in on a state's rights issue? The only thing the federal government should be concerned with is that prisoners who are about to receive a lethal injection have been convicted of a crime that deserved a death sentence and that the death sentence was the sentence the criminal was given.

---
Have you noticed that in spite of the amount of hoopla about being the party of inclusion and diversity..have you ever seen a chairperson of the Democratic National Committee who was black, Latino, or Asian? In reality, the Democrats are a party of white suppressionists.

---
HILLsbury DOUGHgirl really coughed it up in the hearings... too bad she didn't cough up the truth.

---
Online story: "The Justice Department is declining to bring charges against Lois Lerner, the former IRS official at the center of a political controversy over the processing of applications for tax-exempt status" -- What a travesty! No... not the lack of charges being brought on Lerner, but the cover-up of involvement from the White House and DNC...
----
Online headline: "Police find motive for swordsman's school killings * Student thought the masked man who entered their school in Sweden Thursday was dressed for Halloween ... until he began stabbing people.
Discovery the led officials to a motive" -- Wow.. the police think they found "motive".. I'm sure this a great relief to the victims and their friends and families.. the killer thought he was justified...Liberals will rejoice knowing this revelation has been addressed and solved.

---
What Mayor ObamaLYINGson doesn't calculate on properties protected by the freeze is that exempt homeowners take better care of their properties..whereas many tax dollars are spent by government paying for public housing maintenance and rental properties in some neighborhoods.

---
Rental properties and commercial properties have not been under the freeze...how about a graph from the Tax Assessor's office tracking the assessed values through the different aspects of a booming and struggling economy. It would be interesting to see how many values were voluntarily lowered by the Tax Office during Mayor ObamaLYINGson's years in office..

---
You know..Democrats are stuck on defending HILLsbury DOUGHgirl based on the fact she's  Democrat..if she was a Republican, the Democrats would be harassing her and the Republican Party to clear up what happened at Benghazi.

---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff"; "Only 537 billionaires in the United States. Where did the rest of us go wrong? Got it. We aren’t in the hedge fund business." -- the writer has to be a Democrat voter...Most of the billionaires aren't "hedge fund" operators.. they are hard working successful men and families who have succeeded in building businesses that  make America great in spite of the Democratic Party attempts to "slice & dice" them up in tax redistribution schemes.

---
Jonathan Gruber trople-double extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "They have found that THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, inhibits transplants from rejecting organs and that it helps broken bones heal faster and stronger. Just a few reasons why we should legalize it." Reagan was right .. liberal no so much that isn't so.. some studies indicate some improvements in organ transplants has been attained in MICE.. hey, I'm OK if science wants to let mice smoke marijuana...

Think about this.. if a government employee's job is to give away entitlement money, what incentive is there for such to be concerned about who gets what, and how much such employees can save?

---
In the Columbus L-E today are pictures and violations for two men who have been convicted of "DUI" 3 times in the past 5 years.. One got declared a habitual offender, fined, supervised probation and 15 weekends in jail.. the other got the habitual Offender declaration and 12 months probation and 120 days in jail (I supoose in lieu of paying the fines). Why aren't the vehicles they were driving confiscated? Whether they were driving their own vehicles or not doesn't matter...

L-E story: "After laying off more than 300 workers, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is trying to lift the spirits of the remaining employees by giving them 6.8 million shares of the stock he owns in the online messaging service. * Dorsey is giving up the stock, currently worth more than $200 million, so Twitter can award the shares to its employees, according to documents filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. *  The gesture comes a week after Dorsey laid off 8 percent of Twitter’s workforce in an effort to make the company profitable for the first time in its nine-year history." -- Now,, who's going to pay the $100,000,000.00 if "gift taxes".. the CEO or the recipients?

L-E headline: "Republicans challenge Clinton on Benghazi" -- Thank God! It's obvious that the Democrats and mainscream media aren't doing so!

Online headline: "Clinton chokes up during marathon Benghazi hearing * The former secretary of state got emotional on Thursday after being challenged that she didn't care about the victims of the 2012 attack." -- "Clinton chokes up"? How about "choked"... then ... and now? WE do not need her answering 3:00 AM phones calls....

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "The Incredible Moment A Black Hole Rips Apart A Dying Star" -- Oooops. my bad.. thought the HuffPOOPOO had video of HILLsbury DOUGHgirl "choking up" in front of the Benghazi Committee...

---
You know.. it's disgusting how the Democrats on the Benghazi Committee are acting.. responding.. not one of them is putting America's needs before the Democratic Party wants/ideals..... you know, we shouldn't be surprised.. they do not do this in any other area either.

---
Online story: "Hillary Clinton, responding to controversy over the contents of her recently released emails, revealed to the House hearing Thursday investigating the Benghazi attack that she did not actually have a computer in her office while secretary of state -- and generally did not use email to conduct government business." -- Why was HILLsbury DOUGHgirl sworn in? Obviously, there is no truth in her.

---
Trey Gordy said HILLsbury DOUGHgirl has wasted 18 months of his life..well, none of his time has been more wasted than to think she'll ever be honest this time.

---
Online headline: "Obama vetoes defense bill; tells Congress 'Let's do this right' -- Hmmm.. as usual, Obamageddon and mainscream media confirm their dyslexic view of the world.. the headline should read, "Obama vetoes defense bill; tells Congress 'Let's do this LEFT'.

---
From above story: "Obama and many of his fellow Democrats are pushing for a broader budget deal that would address mandatory cuts in domestic spending rather than only providing more funds for the Pentagon.
* But Republicans, who control Congress, say Democrats are irresponsibly playing politics with national security in order to protect pet spending programs at a time when the United States faces rising threats around the world." --  You know.. the proposed military budget of $612,000,000,000.00 comes to about $2,000.00 per American... a bargain to protect ourselves in a world where presidential ineptitude has emboldened 3rd World despots to give Obamageddon the middle-finger-salute.

---
This is not a good month for liberals...HILLsbury DOUGHgirl has burst her own bubble, Joe Biden has abandoned them, Bernie Sanders has exposed them as communists, and Steve Jobs has been revealed to be a greedy capitalist.

---
Online headline: "Study reveals 2 words are secret to happy marriage * Researchers at the University of Georgia have discovered that a common expression may be the key to keeping your spouse content." -- Oooops.. "Thank you"? I guessed they were, "Yes, Dear".....

---
Online headline: "Olympic athlete comes out as gay in ESPN article * G** K*******, who won a silver medal in Sochi, joins other high-profile athletes such as Michael S** and Jason C***** to come out. * 'F--- you to the anti-gay legislature' -- Wow.. such a diplomat for "can't we all just get along"? Don't you just want to embrace him? Yeah.. right..

---
Online headline: "Bill Murray, 65, rumored to be dating singer, 39" -- Bill Murray is only 65? That has to be the bigger rumor in this headline. I'm older than that, and I thought he was 15 years older than me.. 10 years ago...

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Lincoln Chafee Will Speak About The 'Future' Of His Campaign On Friday" -- "the future"?  His "future" ended last week on the debate stage...

---
Online story: "The Homeland Security Department's inspector general is warning that two Secret Service officers were found asleep at their posts." -- Hmmm... and who woke up the Homeland Security inspector general?

---
From the "Trump is right" department - Online headline/story: "‘Obvious flight risk’: Toddler's brutal beating prompts call to withhold bail from illegal immigrants  *  While Chavez is in the wind, his alleged victim, the 2-year-old daughter of his live-in girlfriend, is now in foster care, paralyzed from the beating that also left her with both arms and a femur broken. Well before he was arrested in San Luis Obispo County for attacking the child, Chavez had compiled a lengthy criminal record that includes assault and drug convictions and arrests for violent acts such as kidnapping, car-jacking and cruelty to a child. He was deported in February 2014, but as in previous instances, found it easy to sneak back across the border and into the U.S. * Weeks after Chavez slipped out of custody, on Sept. 1, another 2-year-old toddler named Jonathan Montez was run down and killed in San Bernardino County. Illegal immigrant Jose Enrique Vasquez, 53, an unlicensed driver who witnesses said was speeding down the child’s residential street, fled the scene, according to authorities. He was arrested two weeks later, and, like Chavez, was granted bail." --  Good grief.. why would any judge set a bail for any illegal alien to begin with, but especially when the charges are felonies? How about a rule.. no, a new law (Hey Senator Feinstein.. here's one we need and will help), that requires the judges who set bail for illegal aliens committing felonies be required to stay in that cell until the illegal alien shows back up for his/her court date...

From a 1999 Savannah Morning News story regarding the Columbus tax freeze: "There has definitely been an impact," said Martin J. Land III, Columbus chief appraiser. In order to maintain services, council has had to look toward other fees ... They are always looking for ways to cut expenses." -- This is why the tax freeze needs to be left as it is.. Once it's gone, Council will stop looking for ways to cut expenses..

http://savannahnow.com/stories/061599/LOCcolumbus.html#.Viocqd-ZM4K

From above story: "Realtors say the freeze keeps people from moving and reduces home turnover. * "The freeze inhibits people from selling their homes and moving into smaller ones -- particularly older people," said Joe Flournoy, owner of Flournoy & Calhoun Realtors. "There's less of a turnover rate because of it." -- "inhibits people from selling their homes and moving into smaller ones "?  No, it promotes neighborhood stability.. in addition, it keeps generations of families closer.. my parents bought their home in 1946.. my mother died in 1990, and my father died in 2003.. they added on as our family grew, and we always knew where home was when we gathered for family times..

---
From above story: "In some cases, potential homeowners are moving out of the county completely - opting to buy homes in nearby Phenix City, Ala. and Harris County, Ga. * "It definitely helps pull people here," said Victor Cross, president of the Phenix City-Russell County Chamber of Commerce. "We get a lot of military retirees from Fort Benning and people from Columbus moving to Phenix City because our taxes are so much lower and we don't tax the military retirement income." -- Yep.. I, too moved to Harris County once.. the first thing I realized was how much lower my property taxes were.. onto only on homes, but cars as well. When we moved back to Columbus in 2003, we sold our home in Harris County for the same price as we bought this one in Columbus.. This house is a shade smaller in size, but the taxes went from $1,900.00 annually to $5,200.00 and my vehicle tax bill doubled. Without the freeze, I would not have returned to Muscogee County, and while we are planning to live here "forever", we will definitely look at returning to Harris County should the freeze be monkeyed with...once it has been penetrated.. even if o verturned by a court court later, returning to "freeze status" will not happen as new laws were enacted after Columbus attained the freeze to keep other counties from doing the same.. It scares politicians to know they can't just keep on raising tax revenues to pay for their wasteful spendings.

Oh, by the way , the couple mentioned complaining about their taxes compared to their neighbor are no longer listed in our tax digest.. they obviously left to another area.. probably for lower taxes..

Online headline: "The Alfa Romeo Giulia May Have The Fastest Sedan Lap Time On The Nürburgring" -- The Alfa Romero Giula"? This sounds more like a toe nail fungus medicine than a car name..

---
Online story: "As attitudes and laws in the U.S. have become more tolerant of marijuana, the proportion of adults using and abusing the substance at least doubled between 2001 and 2013, according to a new study." -- As Gomer Pyle might opt to say.. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise.... NOT!

Random thought: Has anyone heard about who will get money from the sale of St Francis Hospital?

Jonathan Gruber triple-double, extra stupid, Kool-Aid drinking LIV's L-E "soundoff": " From the NYC police chief: 40 percent of guns used in crimes come from gun shows, where background checks are weak. Columbus, stop hosting gun shows!" -- Good grief.. another example of Reagan so correctly pointed out ..liberals know so much that isn't so...

---
Jonathan Gruber incredibly stupid Kool-Aid drinking LIV's L-E "soundof": "The Sound Offer who said all Democrats can’t think obviously did not watch the GOP debates. They can’t even pick a leader for the House." --  Yes, the Republicans are wanting to "vet" their next speaker .. look what  the Democrats gave us when they elected Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker when they had the majority...,I'm not even sure she KNOWS HOW to read..

---
You know.. Columbus property owners protected by the existing tax freeze have been the heroes of Columbus during the economic disastrous time of Mayor ObamaLYINGson.. We tax payers have
have absorbed the losses on our property value by paying our frozen tax liability each and every year under her peril.

L-E headline: "Jobless rate dips to 6.7% in September * Local rate remains second worst in Georgia" -- Hmmm.. and the worst rate.. Albany... and what do Albany and south Columbus have in common.. Democrat Congressman Sanford Bishop has homes and offices in both places.

Thursday, October 22, 2015

Online headline/story: "With record-breaking September, 2015 continues pace as warmest year on record * This is has been the hottest first nine months of any year in modern record keeping, according to the State of the Climate report released by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on Wednesday.
* It wasn't warm everywhere though. Spain saw its coolest September since 1996. The United Kingdom was also cooler than average, with England and Wales seeing their coolest September since 1994." -- Good grief..  Spain is almost due east of the USA..basically the same latitude, and same distance north of the Equator.. if kooks' claims were valid, Spain should be the same as similar US altitude states.. but it's not.

From the "another one bites the dust" department: "Back to the Future 2's" wildest prediction just ain't happening.. the Cubs will not win the World Series....

A line from "Shoeless Joe Jackson" fits today's news... "Say it ain't so, Joe"......with Veep Bleep Biden's announcement, there are no men running for the Democratic Party nomination .. well, for that matter.. no women either.. of course, there is one element of "Hope" left.. Biden lies and flip-flops...with the best of them, too.

---
Here we are... ObamaCRAP back in the news.. predictions for 2016 are that 10,000,00 will be enrollled.. but... the schedule for success of the program (in mainscream media and Obamageddon's eye's is 21,000,000. Guess those 11,000,000 illegal aliens aren't enrolling...

HILLsbury DOUGHgirl says the Mayor's of 55 cities have endorsed her...has any one compiled the amount of tax dollars that have been sent into those 55 cities, and how the poverty levels have done? Has any one any idea of how much HILLsbury DOUGHgirl has promised to add?

---
Online story: "Wilmington Mayor Dennis P. Williams is denying that he endorsed Hillary Clinton for president after her campaign included Williams' name on a list of black mayors supporting the former Secretary of State." -- Hmmm wonder if she has e-mail confirmation from Mayor Williams before he came out against her?

You know, the job most on the line following Obamageddon's leaving office is Wayne Brady's job as host of "Lets Make a Deal".. John Kerry is going to be looking for employment and he's definitely qualified.

The fourth NYC policeman has been assassinated in the last few months..This completes the gamut of a black, Latino, Asian, and white police officer being killed there..Black Lives Matter may as well be carrying signs that "Blue Lived Don't Matter to us".

Jonathan Gruber extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "It’s time to end welfare once and for all. I mean corporate welfare." -- Oh.. like all those unrepaid "loans" Obamageddon gave his solar energy friends.. or the "bailouts" he gave GM and Chrysler.... What should be ended is corporate taxes.. they only add to a slower economy as manufacturers have to bump their to-the-consumer prices to pay them.

---
Jonathan Gruber triple-double extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Watching both debates it was easy to see which party knew how to govern. The GOP just rip each other and the Democrats talk issues." -- Hmmm I must have gotten something in my ear when they discussed job creation, abortion issues, ISIS, and Sanctuary cities...

---
Another Jonathan Gruber triple-double extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I would hate to see any elected official in Columbus stand between the people and the ballot box when it comes to something as fundamental as our tax structure." -- Good grief.. what we have is some elected officials, headed by Mayor ObamaLYINGson, who want to destroy the best taxpayer safety net in the state!

---
From the "your mainscream media bias is showing" department - L-E headline: " Poll: Republicans want principles, not compromise" -- Good grief.. what is the number 1 problem we as a nation face... no, it's not ISIS, it's not racism, nor is it illegal aliens.. it's the Democratic Party and mainscream media desire to compromise the principles that made this nation great..

L-E story: "The driver who couldn’t start the getaway car after a Forrest Road auto parts store armed robbery made a deal Wednesday to avoid a life sentence. *  Because he had two prior felonies on his record, 22-year-old B**** B***** was facing life in prison after his conviction for assisting in the Aug. 27, 2013, armed robbery of the Advance Auto Parts store at 5421 Forrest Road." -- Good grief.. why are deals made with people who already have displayed their proclivity for recidivism.. TWICE! We know there will be another situation involving  B*** B****, but now we will have to hope there's not a murder involved.

---
Toyota just recalled 2 million various cars because  the grease used on a remote control switch for its driver's side power windows could possibly overheat and cause a fire.. The vehicle were sold from 2007-2011.. You know.. is Toyota now just becoming aware that 2 million of it's vehicles have this problem? It's been 4 to 8 years and no prior action was taken... surely, somebody at Toyota was "keeping score" along the way.

Ferrari just had an IPO (Initial Public Offering) yesterday..the price soared 6% on day one.. Personally, I'm staying away from it as it's parent company is Fiat-Chrysler (a.k.a. "Fiasco"), and remember what happened to Mercedes-Benz quality when it was owned by Chrysler...

Online story: "The Arkansas Supreme Court says a lower-court judge overstepped his jurisdiction by halting the executions of eight death row inmates, but then granted its own stay so the inmates have enough time to challenge a state law that shields the source of death penalty drugs from the public." -- Good grief.. Where's HILLsbury DOUGHgirl when we need her.. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES the "source of death penalty drugs" MAKE! Did the (_*_)s on death row inform their victims of what brand of bullets they were using to kill them?

---
From the "how stupidly biased can mainscream get" department -- Online story: "The Texas boy arrested for bringing to school a homemade clock that was mistaken for a bomb is moving to Qatar, his family said on Tuesday, a few hours after he was at the White House for an astronomy night hosted by President Barack Obama. * A***** M***(_*_)**, 14, a bespectacled ninth-grader who became an Internet sensation for an arrest that supporters said was influenced by bias against his Muslim religion, has accepted an offer from the Qatar Foundation to study at its Young Innovators Program." -- "to study at its Young Innovators Program"? Yeah.. Qatar thinks it looked like a bomb, too, but also see that perhaps some suicide bomber could get away with taking a bomb that looks like a clock into an American school or the White House.

Online headline/story: "How serious is Donald Trump? * His campaign lacks one essential tool * He has a commanding lead in the polls, but Donald Trump is the only Republican presidential candidate who hasn't purchased a database of voter information, which political campaigns use to target supporters and mobilize them on election day." -- "hasn't purchased a database of voter information"? Good grief.. How well has purchasing "a list" worked for all the "also ran" candidates? For that matter, how did purchasing "a list" work for McCain & Romney? How effective can "a list" be when it hasn't produced a winner.. not even a contender in the primary jockeying? Trump doesn't need "a list".. people are responding to him because of his leadership.

A poll shows 60% if kids think everybody should get a trophy for "participating " versus only trophies for the winners/runners-up. Liberals have destroyed the work ethic. This is why we need Trump.

Online story: "When San Francisco middle school principal Lena Van Haren saw which kids on her campus had been elected to the student council, she was disturbed at the lack of diversity among the winners. There were no Latino or black candidates chosen for the top four spots." -- WHAT! Good grief..this school has 80% minority students .. what is this awful liberal principal telling the kids..that they can't vote for people of other races? Get her out of school now..it's obvious that  the students have a better grasp of community than she does!

---
Professional pundits keep saying Trump would be a foreign affairs disaster because he doesn't understand the restraints ..the intricacies... of diplomacy.. Well, what has Obamageddon's approach..for that matter, what did "W"'s or Clinton's approach,  do for America's world respect. Let's face it..none of theses 3rd world despots understand anything but a strong response. Look at what Reagan sending in missiles to take out the guard towers at Ghaddafy's compound did to shut him up.

---
With an assist from a fellow BCer - This is an interesting map by the perspective it demonstrates.. It shows all the countries that give foreign aid:

Liberals just don't get it...how many of the mass shootings have happened in areas that guns are allowed..? Gun Free Zones are their preference.. FOR OBVIOUS REASONS!

You know... before any government body can raise taxes on the people who pay their salaries, it should be a law that all government salaries be cut by the same percentage they are seeking. Bet budgets would be better managed as well.

L-E headline/story: "Fourth Street Towers renovation completed * The funding for the project came from a combination of federal community block grants administered by the city of Columbus and a bank loan" -- "grants"? "administered by the city of Columbus"?  Didn't we just read about an investigation headed up by Mike Bowers of an Atlanta situation of tax dollars being illegally used for work on private property?  How can this not be the same!
---
L-E headline/story: "Oprah Winfrey explores faith and spirituality in series ‘Belief’ * “We live in a world where when your belief isn’t the same, you literally can get your head chopped off,” she said at the series’ premiere Wednesday in New York" -- Hmmm.. bet Oprah doesn't get invited back to the White House.. well unless Trump gets elected..

Online story: "The powers that be in Edina, Minnesota have a problem with alcohol.
Officials there are attributing a 7 percent hike in property taxes to rapidly declining sales at city-owned liquor stores.
After years of operating some of the state’s most profitable municipal liquor stores, Edina faces a sobering reality. Profits and payments to the city’s general fund continue to plummet in the face of competition from a nearby Total Wine and More superstore, which entered the marketplace in 2014." -- While I applaud Edina for making a profit that benefited  taxpayers.. what this shows is that private industry can do the same thing better.. Now taxpayers who don't drink will have higher taxes  because the City gouged the drinkers, while the drinkers, who will have to pay the higher taxes as well, can rejoice at getting a break on liquor costs.
